Streak 7 JB/Kernel Port - Dell Streak 7

This thread is for porting the 3.1 kernel to the dell streak 7.
I will be working on porting the 3.1 kernel to the dell streak 7 I decided to skip over doing
2.6.39 and move to 3.1 were it would be more efficient to port that kernel that way
we won't end up having to port another kernel later.
Developers: giveen, geramy and Artem
Testers: giveen.
Kernel 2.6.39:
WORKING:
Boots to dell black screen.
Boots to bright dell screen.
Broken:
Doesnt Boot.
Kernel 3.1
WORKING:
Nothing......
Broken:
Everything.....
Current Stage:
Building/Writing kernel.

We are starting a bit of initial porting today hopefully by tomorrow we might have some sort of dell screen haha
Since we have done this before with 2.6.39 and we got as far as the light dell screen I think with the nvidia tegra 2 based
kernel that we might get further faster this time I expect to have some sort of dell screen by monday.

good meeting this morning, time to start working on it

You can only do it from the internet version of XDA. At the bottom of the screen under preview post there is a check box asking if you want to start a poll. Check it. Than you follow the instructions the rest of the way. I expect a thank you

Already? A day after you bought it? I am not doubting you, I usually like to explore my devices a little before I do all that.

Sorry left out I did make as stock nano before I flashed eclipse is great as usual always stable and runs great. Build 15 is full of goodies. He has the preview of 2.1 out on ecliserom.com and it has all the locksreen goodies. But it is a previews for now it has the cm navbar settings instead of his awesome nav bar set up. He will put it back in. Been usingfranco kernel and loving it!
im tempted on giving paranoid android a try.Though i kind of like the phablet mode on this device. Im coming from a tf101.

If connecting to the pc is your problem, it is almost certainly an issue of drivers on the windows side.

@Groid yeah I didn't know the issue. Tried multiple driver sources to no avail until reading someone's luck with MTP and voila! Like a charm. Strange, indeed.

Gotta admit, their replies were somewhat humorous. I saw some charter about a port about a month ago, but not much since. Forts figure though, that its going to be light on the current features of the ROMs since they've diverged in their current iterations. PA is no longer CM based, which would make the mash up more problematic.
Along these same lines, a rom that I wouldn't mind setting on the N7 is JBSourcery. I'd find it hard to be without PSprefs, however.

If Canonical would release a closed source build, a lot more people than only a few flash addicts at XDA would be pissed.

Since as the article says it requires a "tool" to actually get it on a device I don't see anything being available to us that actually works till at least the end of the year.
I'd be happy with better battery life, but it'll be weird without the playstore. I wonder how or if playstore apps could be ported?
Looks like they'll drop images to flash via fast boot. Should be interesting. Will try it out on my GNex
