Having the same problem here... do I need to install the odex files too?

Yes.. I changed the permissions to rw-r-r But I am still unable to install it. Its not your upload because I have my original file (but froze it with antex and then had to to a sustem restore) do I have to instal the odex too?

No I didnt try it because Im still runing on ICS... trying to get all my aps in place in order to upgrade. However... browser and attandresbook are a no go... App was not installed is the error I get...
EDIT: The way to go was copy and paste the app to the system folder, change permisions and restart. Simply instaling did not work. Peremisions should be rw-r-r.

Yessir, from .893 update I performed this morning. =) And I noticed a huge improvement in shutter speed as well.
Can we take this APK and replace our current one? I'm on the stock ROM and rooted... ?
Should work... just rename or make a backup copy of the stock apk.

I'm evidently too noob to figure this out. I located the camera app in \system\app but it can't be moved or anything. Probably need to force it through ADP I'm assuming?
I believe /system/app is r/o by default, so you'd need to remount the filesystem r/w before you can make any modifications to the files. Root Explorer would probably be the easiest way to accomplish the task at hand, or of course do it all through ADB....
I renamed the original BlurCamera.apk and tried installing the downloaded Camera, but it says the application was not installed. Originally I tried installing it from my SD card, so I tried moving it to system\app to install it, but I receive the same message: "application was not installed." I renamed the original Camera back to its original name, moved the downloaded Camera back to my SD card, and now I can't even install the original Camera.
So now I'm completely out of a Camera app, lol. What did I do wrong?

Same here. I did try changing the permissions and rebooted. I wound up just doing a clean install of everything because I was needing to anyway. However, I would still like to know why this does not work because I would prefer a camera different from the Atrix camera on Reblurred 2.0.

It's the DX camera on Reblurred. But yeah, I'll reflash this tonight and see if I can get it. I've put several different cameras on different ROMs and never had an issue, so I'll see if I can figure it out.
For the camera to work need to include the odex file as well. Should be BlurCamera.odex

I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS. THIS IS FROM A THUNDERBOLT ROM.
pretty nice tho
AND A REMINDER THIS IS A SYSTEM APP SO IT WONT INSTALL JUST BY CLICKING INTSTALL
have ROOT go into ROOT EXPLORER go to
system/app and paste the apk over the Vending.apk you already have
scroll down to it and hold down
set permissions to rw-r--r--
. .
.
.
check the 3 going down on the left
and the top middle
So does it work on the bionic? Can you post a link or the .apk

Lol sorry.. total idiot moment. Forgot the title was 'ICS themed'. My bad.
Got S-Voice to work on our phones.
check post below ;D
got it to work see attached photos
HOW DO YOU INSTALL?
1. Download files on link below(Extract on your desktop). If you download to phone directly, you still need to extract to a normal folder.
2. Contained within is 2 files.(voicetalk.apk & libsvoxtts.so)
3. Place voicetalk.apk in system/app with "Root Explorer" or like(Use Mount R/W and set permissions by holding voicetalk.apk to see sub-menu). Make sure to make permissions as "rw-r--r--".
4. Now place libsvoxtts.so on /system/lib.
5. Reboot IT WILL INSTALL ON REBOOT. NO NEED TO CHANGE build.prop such as with others.
6. ENJOY, then ask funny questions to it.

I do have root and i also know how to chnage permissions. I was having a stupid moment as the gf is asking me ridiculous questions about her new phone, .....she wont let me go near it for if i root it LOL
Why do we have to chnage it to RW-R-R, as opposed to the automatic RW-RW-RW

I tell it to set an alarm for 5.30am, it says here is your alarm..............But it doesnt actually set an alarm? If i go into the clock app theres no alarm set?

I hate how much hangouts lag and I know that the 8sms app from the play store is pretty close to a stock messaging app, but does anyone know why installing the mms.apk from CM11 or Gummy 4.4.2 wouldn't work?
