Hi everyone.
Does anyone know if it is possible to use the Droid 4's physical keyboard as a bluetooth keyboard on the Nexus 7? Or the iPad.
Thanks... this would be awesome

I found this on the play store, no idea if it works.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tournesol.tabletremote&hl=en
Theres also a app called BlueputDroid which emulates a generic bluetooth mouse/keyboard.
EDIT: I tried the Tablet Remote app, but I dont think it worked on either the tablet ( Asus Transformer Infinity) or the phone (Droid 4), I got bluetooth service discovery errors on both, but the BlueputDroid does work, its what I use. I hope the Tablet Remote gets worked out because it looks like a really nice app!

Has anyone tried any of these on screen game controllers on the n7? Thinking of trying them out as I use emulators (nesoid, N64oid) to play games.

I bought 2 of the 2nd link on thinkgeek. I don't like them at all
Alot of the game don't have a predefined in game joystick, it appears wherever you put your fingers, it won't work with that.
So it's not compatible with all the games, it's bulky. If your screen isn't clean, it will slide alot.

I'm using this keyboard on my nexus 7! And it works but after some time of inactivity it stops working. And I have to disconnect and connect the cable again.
I tested in my Samsung Galaxy S2 and I had no problems.
I'm using this app in both devices and the cable is also the same.
External Keyboard Helper Pro - Apedroid
Interesting. I use the same keyboard for my Bionic and RAZR Maxx while both are docked. Great keyboard for HTPC use. May have to try now on my N7.

Hi!
I've bought logitech keyboard k400 and for me sorprise it doesn't work with me NEXUS 10.
I've looked for in internet the solution or the motive but I didn't read anything.
Any help?
Is the app even needed? Perhaps the app is the source of the trouble?
I used a Logitech USB keyboard ("Internet 350 Keyboard" M/N Y-US76A) w/ 4.2.1 on the N7 via OTG cable - just plugged it in and it worked. No apps needed / no diddling of settings.
Didn't use it a lot though, so maybe I didn't use it enough to experience the same symptom.
The app is useful.
I think that the last night build of CM solved the awake problem of K400.
Didn't test that yet!

I'm using the last night build of CM 10.1 and still happens.
I'll test other keyboard.

Greetings XDA! I have been a follower of XDA for a long time, but this is happens to be my first post, so I figured to commemorate it, I would share V1.0 of my Nexus 10 Arcade machine using the Icade unit! The unit has been given a massive cosmetic overall with brand new custom artwork, and will soon feature LED backlight in V2. Hope you guys enjoy it and it's good to be here!
Since I cannot post a video link quite yet, simply type "The Nexus Arcade" in the Youtube search engine and enjoy!
Looks nice!

This is too awesome! Now I'm gonna have dreams about it
Where can I order mine and how much does it cost?

Its hard to say...
Logistically?
The icade unit cost me $30 on Ebay, and I got a deal.
The vinyl stickers cost me $35.
The LEDs cost me $30.
Thinkgeek offers them for $100, but I would try Amazon or ebay.

Dude that is sweet, nice job. Do the controls actually work? How are they connected?
The controls work perfectly. They are connected via Bluetooth. Thats why it works with the android tabs and the ipads.

I built a full size arcade cabinet that runs MAME - it's a lot of fun. I'd love to get MAME running on my Nexus 10, but I haven't found a version that works well full screen.
What software are you using?
Also, if anyone is interested, I ripped some sounds from Galaga (ringtone & notification) - almost guarantees your phone will sound unique.
Its running MAME 0.139. It gets the job done.
See version 2 of the device in the link above.

Looks great!
I realized my problem with Mame4Droid Reloaded was that I was using incompatible ROMs. I found some ROMs that were the right version.
If you're not using Mame4Droid Reloaded, what emulator are you using?
Text removed form original post:
Any chance you could send me a link to the version of MAME your using? I've tried mame4droid (can't get full screen) and mame4droid reloaded (can't get most of my ROMs to work). I was hoping to find a fairly simple solution that would let me use my existing Roms full screen.

It is running Mame4Droid Reloaded. 0.139 is the rom version. I also use Final Burn Alpha for some of the CPS-based games like Street Fighter III

This has become quite a time hog...
Mame4Droid Reloaded. 0.139 is running great. I think I might pick up a PS3 controller - seems to be the best option for a universal controller. I don't need to go the iCade route for a controller since I've already got a full size cabinet.
Researching and finding newer versions (0.139u1 compatible) of all my favorite ROMs has made me want to update my cabinet to run the same version as my tablet. I forgot how much fun messing with MAME & various front ends can be - and how quickly a lot of time can be spent.
Anyone know of an inexpensive bluetooth controller with a trackball? I so want to play my favorite arcade game ever, Marble Madness, and was disappointed to learn that MAME4droid doesn't support the Nexus 10 accelerometer. Actually, it does support it but only for left/right (driving) controls.
Good luck finding a trackball gamepad in general... FPS players have been asking for this for a few years now lol... You might be able to use a trackball mouse or keyboard though
This is awesome!
Advise me a good keyboard for my nexus
Jelly bean keyboad pro or its stock roms keyboad is good

I'd try a bunch from play store and see what you like! Everyone has different tastes.
That being said....I only ever use smart keyboard pro on all my devices. its very customizable and never causes me issues. Plus I already paid for it! Lol

Hardware or Software keyboard?
Hardware:
Personal choice, purely depends if you want mechanical, chiclet, android optimized, bluetooth, etc.
Software:
Swype, Stock Android Keyboard, Xperia Keyboard
For me Hacker's Keyboard (by Klaus Weidner) wins hands down. It's amazing how much customization is included.

Thumb Keyboard. Try it out.
SwiftKey (for tablet) , Keymonk, and Smart Keyboard Pro all are good options IMHO...
