After updating to jelly beans it seems like Samsung have merged s-memo and s-note, and my beloved sticky-note widget that let you put your notes on your home screen is completely gone! This was like one of my single most used widgets! Loved to be able to get a reminder of something every time i glanced at the home screen! Anyone know of any good alternatives that uses the s-pen?
Re: Jelly Beans -> Missing s-pen widget
Yes I was very disappointed at first but then I found gnote on the xda apps and games forum. You can download it from the play store.

First, I replaced the launcher. Apex Launcher is based on the stock ICS Launcher and looks great, but getting it to work with the weather and clock widgets seems to be crappy. These widgets know how to change layout based on size, and it seems like Apex is failing to notify them of the size change. Anyone know how to get those widgets to use a layout other than the long, thin stripe when using Apex?
Second, I'm wondering if I should replace the camera / gallery apps. Is there a significant advantage to the standard ICS apps? I'm hoping there's some reason Samsung gave us the old Gallery app, but anyone know what it is? Is the stock ICS gallery available to install?
I think if u just wait for a while. Some one will release a "Custom" Rom with re-design. Even though it will be stock with a layer on top of it, it will be all u need.

I'm not really interested in a custom ROM. Trying to stick with the stock roms as much as I can. That doesn't mean I won't install some better apps.
use Quickpic for gallery; significantly better than stock gallery, regardless of OS version!
As for weather widget, here's something to try:
Go to Apex Settings, Advanced settings, then uncheck "resize any widget"
see if the switch to conventional ICS resizing will change the Accuweather widget behaviour...
No guarantee but give it a go!

Yep should have added "watch this thread" to follow for ICS note version when done as ICS only out this week and no one will have it themed yet.
Personally I had a S2 and tried most themes and allways went back to stock plus a ICS look launcher, follow the S2 themes and you will see all themes don't get things right 100% grey txt on black background and then there was CM 9 etc with custom apps themed and you loose some of the original functionality.
Or follow checkrom.com for a ICS vers coming shortly???
Now that we have ics can anyone port the samsung galaxy s3 launcher with weather widget for our phone?
+1
i would be Great !!!
You can find it if u google it....its for ICS/JB hope u know it....its working great but still have few bugs like freezes or sometimes takes a hell lot of time to load etc....but try it urself....i found it the same way...
Hi guys can we use the old internet app from ics in jellybean? I also miss the power widget does anybody have them please post them the new internet app seems to have scrolling issues and of course the power widget just vanished after the update.
Hello All.
For outdoors sportsmans negative colors option is very valuable because when activated and with brightness at max the phone is totally readable under full sunlight.
Unfortunately negative colors widget is missing on the S4 whereas it came stock on S3.
It would be great to have it on S4 as well.
I am a stock ROM user so I wonder if the apk can be extracted from S4 and can be installed on S4?
Negativecolours widget
Check out the Samsung App store, search for Negativecolours widget, and download it. Also check out the HQ voice and other widgets. Samsung left them out to free over a GB of space, and made them available on the its own app store incase someone needed them, enjoy man!
Josh.
Hi there,
I recently upgraded to a Nexus 5 32GB from my Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 running Android 2.3.6. However, one of the big dilemma's I have been facing is how to organize my home screens (e.g. placement of widgets, app shortcuts, etc.). I know it sounds silly, but it is something which I feel I need to get right. My current setup is;
Google now
Screen 1: Clock widget and battery widget
Screen 2: Power toggles and 4 app folders for commonly used apps
Screen 3: Flipboard widget and Facebook status widget
Screen 4: Sunrise calendar widget
Let me know what your setups are. I am keen to try different setups to see what works, as I am still getting a feel for the device.
Thanks!
