Thanks - before I go official, is it a well known bug that VPN (L2TP/IPsec and PPTP) do not work?

Worked fine for me when I used it, I use the OpenVPN app now though as it's easy to backup/restore between roms

I mean LT2P/IPSec and PPTP, not OpenVPN, which has a separate app and has nothing to do with Cyanogenmod itself.

something like this : https://www.vpnreactor.com/android_l2tp_ipsec.html ?
i guess you can ask that in the official thread, i searched and didn´t find an answer

Are you sure you want this thread to be for people to ask without searching? Also, I think if they see "GOSSIP" in the title they are less likely to ask their oh so important questions in this thread. Just a couple of constructive criticisms. Thanks for starting the thread.

Re: [ROM][4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightlies TALK thread
Was just saying cause the reboot thing got so astoundingly ridiculous. There are some times that a search might not yield helpful results, like if the term is too short or too general, but for reasonably easy searches (like "reboot" ) I think the non-searcher is best to be ignored altogether.

Re: [ROM][4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightlies TALK thread
Oh a place I can ask questions directly relating to CM but not from a developers point of view.
Let's see...
[Joke]So I took my brand new phone from the box, but when someone tries to call me my old phone rings and the new ones screen stays blank. Am I doing something wrong?
Edit: apparently I needed to put my old sim card into the new phone and press and hold the power button briefly. Who knew?
[\joke]
Anyway, some more realistic questions.
I like to keep my phone very dim for when I wake up or an in a dark environment (light sensitive eye condition - takes awhile to adjust to normal light when I wake up and dark surrounds are difficult with bright light).
Also I don't use auto brightness. I like to use the notification bar to control brightness. But I like to use the brightness toggle to lower the brightness to the minimal value I can. In an older build of Cm10... Possibly not Cm10.1, there was an option in Display settings to edit the predefined brightness levels (not auto brightness levels. This refers to the settings for the toggle for Dim, 25%, 50%, etc.).
Well at some point, the option to edit predefined levels disappeared. There are some apps that add screen filters or can change brightness values, but I would rather not depend on 3rd party apps.
So I am wondering if anyone knows where the defined brightness level information is stored? Normally I just get app recommendations when I ask this. (I asked in other threads but never had a thread that could specifically be used for these questions short of making my own.)
Oh and related to the light sensitivity. Does anyone know of a good set of inverted Google apps such as Gmail, Talk and MMS. I am using Justin's set which were excellent and dynamically adjusted the colours of text etc based on the theme engine theme currently active (I use red themes mostly, other inverted apps were holo blue and did not match custom themes). However, Justin has stopped updating and will release no other inverted apps (for much the same reasons DvTonders needs to take a break). So I will need to look for a new inverted app set once the new gapps are released. So if anyone knows a nice set, that would be much appreciated!
Wow I didn't expect to write a wall of text like this
Edit: the inverted gapps I used are here. And I guess are up to date until the new 4.2.2 gapps get released.

I haven’t noticed it. It's my mistake. Thanks for answer.
However I have one question: I found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXOY9EVZ4vA&feature=youtube_gdata_player
how to turn the LTE on Nexus. But Google said in specifications of Android 4.2.2, then this possibility is disabled. Can I use this on CM, if current version is based on 4.2.2?

Re: [ROM][4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightlies TALK thread
Just an idea I had to make the tiles pseudo 'arrangeable' in the QS panel, i.e. place a tile in a specific spot, or arrange tiles along one side of the panel. Might try my luck at submitting a 'blank' tile. Probably less work than making tiles snap to a grid with a tile sized space in between. Linux n00b however, so we'll see how this goes...
Hmm...now to learn Java.

The radio that came with the 4.2.2 images disabled the ability to enable LTE, not the ROM. So long as you haven't updated to the newest radio you can still select the LTE band.

Question regarding CM10.1 camera.... how do i know if i'm using it? Does it look different from stock? I installed CM10.1 and flashed the 121212 Gapps.
If i'm not, what's the difference with stock? Does it still have photosphere? Picasa sync in gallery?
Sorry for sounding noob i've been out of the loop because i stayed with CM10 on my GNex.

Since the 2 most recent nightlies I have not had the EXPANDED REBOOT MENU (reboot, recovery, bootloader.) I have only had the option to reboot. This surprises me. Are other people noticing this or is it just me? I did just get a replacement N4 and transfered my nandroid from my old one to this one. I dont think this should effect much as everything else is perfect and exactly the same. any thoughts?

still waiting on battery %. other than that this rocks. Any idea when the build will include a custom kernel?
i was glad to see cyanogen settings. still waiting for the submenu to change the statusbar. I always liked showing signal numbers instead of signal bars.
Been running these for a day now, very stable. Love having cm settings back, especially lockscreen options and music controls.
Great having the invisible slide unlock. Remember pervert power from a while back?
What exactly do the build numbers designate? Are there differences between each build? I flashed #24, but am just looking to see if 25 or 26 have anything different to offer.

Not on the included kernel as that's not really the point of the Alpha builds. Although I have never done it myself, my understanding is that basic OC kernels are easy to make if you feel so inclined. Not really sure what you hope to gain other than benchmark scores; I have yet to find any situation where a 1Ghz Hummingbird is bottlenecking performance.

I looked at some videos of CM10 on YouTube but besides the ability to put widgets on the lockscreen, I didn't see all these features and tweaks that you're referring to. Can you expand on that? Also, what do you mean by "more control over your device"?
I'm not downplaying or dismissing CM. Just trying to understand why it's so popular.

This CM10 Preview is a VERY basic build, and will probably not have as much of the added functionality that CM9 would have (this is something I assume as I have not flashed this ROM yet). CM allows you much more control over customizing your device by adding more options under Settings, and also by including tweaks / fixes / new features. Things such as themes, Advanced Power Menu, more control over navigation bar, themes (yes I said that twice for a reason ), different launcher.
It also, in many cases, can make your device more responsive / faster by removing a lot of the 'bloatware' and unnecessary background apps that some manufacturers out in their ROMs.
Gotcha. Thanks for the rundown.
They would have a hard time to get me to use CM again, I once had a so-called "stable" build of CM 7.03 on my Desire last year and it had to be rebooted almost every day to fix a glitch here or there, presumably because of all the hacks/tweaks they use. Problems went away after going to a pure AOSP ROM.
Remember this is just a preview.

Not sure if this has been asked on the forums, but can someone please tell me exactly, what is the difference between this and CM10[JellyBro] Nightly Kangs? I want to use the latest one as possible. Also, I know this is the Nexus 7 forum, but the same can be said for the Galaxy Nexus (maguro). Are the JellyBro Nightly Kangs the way to go for the latest CM10 previews?
Kangs are not official, this one is. I would recommend sticking with official since we got it now Official nightlies should come soon too.

So this ROM is officially by CM himself? Does it run JellyBean? Also, does the Galaxy Nexus have official CM builds with JB?
https://plus.google.com/113334764480431682966/about he is one of the CM maintainers. This is a Nexus 7 forum not Galaxy Nexus.
O hay guyz when will th3re be updaytes for dis!?22211?11!!!
Heh, jk. Looks absolutely fabulous!!! I'm continuously blown away by the CM team. I can't wait until this is stable enough for a daily driver. This is my first tablet so I can be a little more daring. Nightly are almost always stable enough, but now that I have a phone AND a tablet it'd be all right to tinker even more so with the tablet.
This won't be good for my flashing addiction. We need a support group for all the married dudes with upset spouses lol

The ONLY difference between a nightly kang and an 'official' build will be cherry-picked features that have not been added to the official version. Usually, these are small tweaks that will within a week or two be added to the official releases.
There are no other differences. Stability will, almost inevitably, be the same between the two.

Cyanogen Mod has come a long way. CM is in 7.2 stage for the Desire HD at the moment. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Not once have I gotten a force close a random reboot or any other issues on CM7.2. Just because you have one bad issue, doesn't mean it should stop you from using their other roms. Remember you flash custom roms at your own risk and the word customer should make you expect issues here and there. :cyclops:

Our next goal is to put together a build machine, and we need your help. Why do we need a server? Well, a few reasons. The first is the most obvious - we'd like to build more frequently and need the hardware to support it. That means drive space and speed. The more of each we have, the more we can say "hey let's crank out a build," and throw it up on goo so you see an update in goomanager. Right now, building is a pretty intensive all-day process. The second reason is stability. Building from a development machine means that the environment itself is less stable. This translates into, again, fewer builds and more work to make them. Faster building means we can build for more devices, too. All this free time means we can do more cool stuff. We've got a lot of great ideas coming, and every bit of time we can get to work on them means a better rom for you. If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

As I'm running this ROM on my GS3, I'm going to have to give this a go when I get home from work.

I believe the Performance Control is buggy. Last night I had all sorts of trouble with my tab (P3113) either constantly freezing or rebooting. I did a complete wipe before installing, I even downloaded the rom again and re-installed but still the same issues.
Then I went into settings and saw that in Performance Control, my tab was at 1480 default max and probably my CPU couldn't take that setting. So, I changed it to 1200, set it to on boot and the freezing/rebooting stopped. However, a bit later I got another freeze and when I checked Performance Control, it was back to 1480.
I unchecked set on boot in Performance Control, downloaded No Frills CPU (free from Play Store) and set my tab to 300/1200 and all the freezing/rebooting has stopped. I always liked No Frills CPU, really excellent app.

I agree, i have had to do that on other ROMs.
For some reason i cant even get this ROM to boot. Ill have to try and DL it again later. Perhaps, it was just a bad DL, because i see others are able to get it to boot and i have no probs with other ROMs, so that would be my guess.

Same issue, and couldn't remap. I also had to flash kk's landscape kernel to get it to boot. I went back to a back up. Ill retry later, when i have more time. I'm not by my PC, so i can't get a log cat, as i only know how to do it via adb.

My tab with 1480mhz don't have any freeze, the only thing is the heating when I'm playing real racing... It's very stable.
I'm going test that app from market. Thanks for the help

I also had a heckuva' time getting it to initially boot. it would hang and than after a hard reset, would make it into the OS and either freeze or reboot. If you can successfully get it to boot into the OS, immediately change the CPU in Performance control to max 1200 and then get an app like No Frills and lock it in. That seemed to stabilize it for me. I also skipped setting up wifi on the initial startup, as that also seemed to hang my tab, setting up wifi after successfully getting into the OS was fine. But, I still think it all had to do with my GPU defaulting at 1480.
I had no issues with the home button on P3113.

Good idea to get No Frills or something similar for your CPU, as it doesn't look like built-in Performance Control is keeping the settings. Hopefully, sevenup30 will check it out. But, good rom anyway.

TeamVanir presents
VANIR
Yeah, it's got a HEMI.
Vanir was founded on the premise of performance tuning Android. We are based on AOSP, but include features (many of which have been rewritten to be more efficient) from other ROMs.
Our webkit, chromium, and skia are aosp/master merged with codeaurora, with linaro fixes on top.
BY LINARO, I MEAN GLOBAL "-O3 -fstrict-aliasing".... we didn't just switch toolchains. Here at Team Vanir, WE GO HARD.
Features
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
omniswitch
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
improved notification handling (active display & halo are in review also)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods
lockscreen blur and other mods
soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc

Update: So far all running smoothly. I highly recommend DHO's Gapps. They are VERY minimalist, no Gmail, no YouTube, no maps, pretty much only the play store. Anything you find missing you can download from the play store anyways and the apps wont be tied to the OS. Runs sweet so far, gonna use it as a daily driver for a few days and report back.

Vanir has been building for our family this entire year -- the nightlies are hosted on official Vanir servers -- and no one's known about it except xt907 guys. That's a major shame for all rom lovers and crackflashers. So I took it upon myself to be a good-faith "thread maintainer" and spread the word :good:
Let's be honest, bro, no one looks in General for roms. It's a graveyard there. These are official nightlies, and they deserve the respect of being in Development. If Team Vanir ever makes an official thread, I'll take this down.
Something I noticed on this rom,Carbon and Pac Roms is under the Preferred Network types,It never wants to stick with anything but GSM/WCDMA. Either in Auto or not,it changes back to that after you exit the screen. Even after I checked the "4636" dialer code,it never kicks to LTE even when I know im in a ATT LTE area.(was in San Antonio earlier today)..Is it just a Rom issue?

From what I know, its a CM (or aosp, can't remember) related bug and roms that use it as their base have this issue.

That's odd. I get LTE out of the box and the Settings Preferred Network is set to Global. I changed to GSM preferred without issue to boost battery life (H+ icon). ATT uses a weird APN for LTE, so it could be that. (I'm on Tmo.) Good luck!

OK,well been running Batakangs Stock based rom. Is there a fix for LTE on ASOP or CM? Ive only found a couple of roms based on Stock, kinda frustrating to loose LTE. Other than, this ROM is rock solid.Battery is drain is minimal. Deff a daily driver if someone could work out the LTE thing. Wifi tethering works too.
This would probably be my daily driver if only the battery life was better. I just like the feel of it. For now I've dropped back to validus.

screenies??
It looks like Carbon ROM, clean KitKat style. It works really good, the only thing that I am noticing is the battery is lasting a little less than with Carbon, but it is still ok.
Apparently one of the developers of this rom has a personal version as well called Commotio. If anyone is interested here's the link to the builds http://www.emccann.net/dho/3-Vanir-mirror/4-nighties/. It seems to be more up to date as of this writing. I am currently using it and like it. Some of the things I've noticed so far are different navbar icons, more blue in the theme, added performance control app, themed torch app, and commotio boot animation.

No, you need to check the name of the folder, it's based on the date of the nightly. Then, when you enter, search for the one that ends with "moto_msm8960". That's the one for this phone. Example: "B65-Commotio-moto_msm8960".
OP updated to include Commotio builds. Thanks for the heads-up @governmentissuejoe.
Commotio is customized by Vanir member DHO and includes different themes/icons, settings organization, etc. It's the same core as Vanir - it just looks different.
If you want to increase battery life, I recommend installing arrrghhh's kernel and tweaking the settings. Wheatley is worth a try also.

Does this thread help or dilute help for AHD users?
Just a consideration about the possible downside of having a separate thread for AHD/CM12.1. As I mention here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60552125&postcount=3118 "As to a dedicated MB886 thread; it would be nice but our cohort (MB886 users actively testing CM12.1) is small and if we did that we would be less able to pick the brains of the more experienced Devs/hobbyists who are tweaking similar ROMs from the same phone family. At least we have kabaldan and others working on issues related to our phone that were reported here and through Jira.".
Unless the Devs prefer a separate thread we might be better off in the shared thread - since those more experienced and greater in # users wont come here to help us we'll have to monitor that thread anyhow. Food for thought.
Also, some minor corrections and cleanup suggested for OP;
- skrilax should be Skrilax_CZ (which may be why the mention link is broken and pointing to different user named skri. In any event you don't want the mention system referring to wrong user.
- nadlabak mention link also seems to be broken and sending contact to wrong user, in this case one named nad. I know nadlabak is the reference used in the old CM11 thread but he has been posting lately as his palindromic doppelganger "kabaldan". Using kabaldan might straighten out that broken mention link.

OP updated
Reviewing posts I realize my last one came off more critical than was intended so I've returned to adjust the tone.
It's not like I don't appreciate the thread. In fact there are notable benefits of having a thread that is device and ROM specific. It was just that with only about 4 or 5 AHD users regularly dipping in to test CM12.1 and report in these threads I was concerned that an additional thread would water us down, but the opposite may be happening. It seems that some AHD/CM12.1 users that were not participating in the other thread have found this thread. Even if we have to follow 2 threads to track bugs and issues, if this thread keeps bringing new AHD users into the conversation that is great. so Thanks!
What I'll start doing is posting test results in both this thread and in the the other one http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-hd/development/lollipop-5-0-runs-msm8960s-kkbl-t2939832

Just for your interest:
1st May build seems to be completely stable for me.
I have no reboots at all, descent battery life, nearly no bugs. But I should say, I am not a heavy user.
The only one bug that I have is that sometimes the screen does not power up at incoming call, and I have to press power several times to turn it on. But I have had this bug on pretty all custom roms for AHD.
So, I think that I will stay on this build.

Across both CM11 and CM12 it is not uncommon to have media sync issues immediately after installation. Normally I've experienced this as ringtones that are absent until after an additional reboot. Maybe this was a similar issue.
[EDIT] Forehead slap. I thought you wrote SD rather than SIM, so these issues might not be related but, for what it is worth I did recently see someone else report about something similar where the SIM was not detected for a while (forget where).
