Snapdragon™ BatteryGuru extends battery performance and improves overall user experience by intelligently making changes that optimize Snapdragon device functionality. This app:
•Delivers longer battery life with fewer charges
•Intelligently learns how you use your Snapdragon smartphone and optimizes your device without disabling smartphone functionality
•Requires no user configuration - Snapdragon BatteryGuru automatically learns and adjusts the smartphone settings so you don’t have to.
After a brief 2-4 day introduction period, Snapdragon BatteryGuru learns the user’s behaviors and then notifies the user that it is ready to extend the battery life and improve the experience. Snapdragon BatteryGuru continues to operate in the background, deepening its understanding of the user and further optimizing the experience over time.
Available as a Beta release at this time, Snapdragon BatteryGuru supports a majority of Snapdragon powered devices in North America and European Union at this time and we are working rapidly to support additional Snapdragon powered devices and regions in the coming months. If you experience problems using this app, we'd really appreciate if you send us an email at [email protected] explaining your problem prior to leaving a review – we’ll try to respond as soon as possible.

Do you know if it modifies kernel or interferes with setCPU?
I sent them a message about it, let's see what they say.
No it don't mess with kernel, I also don't think it adjust cpu frequency as I think it would need root permission, which this app don't require.
Sent from my HTC One X
yepp, I installed it, and looks like what it does is that it organises when apps connect for sync and update, which sounds really good, and others don't do that.
yep, they said:
Thank you for your enquiry.
BatteryGuru does not modify the kernel or CPU settings in and way.

So I am making poster for my english class in university "THE GOOD AND THE BAD SIDE OF INSTALLING CUSTOM ROM TO ANDROID PHONE". I am writing down pros and cons. So far I have for the pros:
Ability to use powerfull root apps
Better backup and restore
Better battery saving settings
Ability to overclock cpu, undervolt cpu, etc.
Better control of your baseband
Latest version of android OS
Ability to crack applications
Various kernel choises
Ability to edit various device settings
And for the cons:
Warranty will be void
Can be very unstable
Applications may not be able to run
Battery life can be worse
Can be slower
Some features may be lost
Can be unsafe to use tracking wise
Possibility of bricking your device
As I said, I need to make a poster. So far I have this information. Maybe you have anything to add? Seriously, do not hesitate, spread your ideas, you will really help me a lot Also, maybe you have any ideas what pictures should I put on my poster? i think I should put at least two pictures of "something" on it, otherwise it will look very empty.
Thanks for you brainstorm

I've seen where certain apps will not run correctly with certain ROM's, particularly AOSP ROMS. For example, the BofA app runs fine on my Sammy with TW. On AOSP, it can't take a picture of your check to make a deposit thru the app.

Warranty may or may not be void depending on what goes wrong with the phone, who the manufacturer is, where you live, local consumer legislation and how much you are willing to push the manufacturer to honour the warranty.

guys ever since the update, i've had a horrible battery life because of kernel and system_server processes. Does anyone knows whats the cause or how i can fix the issue, i've tired "Wake Lock Detector", "GSAM", everything i can think of, even "show CPU" in the developer option, i cant seem to find the cause of the issue. if nessary ill add pictures to show the results that am getting
sorry, completely forgot to mention that am using a S5 Active(G870A) and updated to 5.0 (OC5) using @muniz_ri version http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/how-to-update-to-g870aoc5-5-0-keeproot-t3083841
If screen is on alot not much help here; However, I am using my deductive reasoning & will suggest deep sleep battery saver. Makes my phone stay in the 90%s if my screen is off awhile. Firefox beta uses battery until you physically exit out I've learned. Last thought for now, kernal tuner. Put 1 CPU governor to powersave. Not sure if it matters which? Mine is CPU1. Hope it helped.
My Samsung S5 Active. Yes I read pages. Thanks
I wish it was the screen but the screen only takes up 3% of battery usage while android OS and kernel takes up about 50% combined and I have no idea what to do because "show cpu" state that system_server and media server is the culprit

Hi all
so i have decided to buy P9
and i want to ask how is the performance and how is the camera shot
can someone give me some Pics ?
and the battery life is it really good ? how much would last if i'm using the phone only for browsing and calling ?
any advice to go with P9 single sim or Dual sim ?
does the NFC really needed or useful in anything beside payment ?
Cam is very good for photography, mediocre at video. Performance is excellent. Battery lasts me almost always two full work days.

Same here! Amazing phone, there is a whole thread with camera samples. With one word - GREAT. Totally worth the money and as a device the only other device that's better for me is the Pixel phone right now. But still I like the design of P9 more, so I would get it over the Pixel any day
Makeuseof. Com has an article about 9 things you can use NFC for that'll impress your friends.
Check it out
Can somebody check the performance of p9 and post the results in uxbench that is available playstore for free with no ads and is developed by me?
For now the fastest of all are mi5s and s7 edge exynos as you can see in compare tab. I wonder how well the kirin 955 performs in terms of cpu and generally ux performance.
The test is quick to complete about 2 minutes.

Thank you!
Excellent performance! 955 is as fast as 821 and exynos in single core and leads the multicore by far!
The little slow performance on nand write speed did not let it be the fastest phone in user experience! But single and multicore performance is really out of this world!

Excuse me for deleting the second run. I just keep the best performance for every device.
I have seen someone posted a test run with very high score. Until now Huawei P9 is the king of UXbench.
I will send a request in Mate 9 forum to ask somebody to test the device. I wonder how far can go the 960 chip.
Hello guys
Just switched to p30 pro 6gb ram/128g
From s9 exynos g960f
Its seems like the emui 9.1 using alot of ram(60%~75%). I used to follow this details with samsung device care. Huwaei dont have a build-in ram usage monitor so im using 3rd one.
In s9 i had a 4gb ram and the usage was like 2.5gb used
Attached a ram usage

I have the 256GB 8GB P30 Pro, this seems to be normal, the device does not close apps though, from what I have seen
this is a good thing. I don't know where it came from that people are obsessed about 1) having a phone with the largest RAM possible 2) using as little of it as possible. Unused RAM is wasted RAM. It is a problem if apps are hogging it with garbage (literally in java), but I want my phone to use as much RAM as possible at all times but be able to do ram management that once I launch demanding app that it will squish the right processes in the background to free up space for the app I am using.
So far I am very happy with p30p, very good battery life, no missed notifications because apps were frozen, I did quite a bit of adb debloating, and it really seems to be only helpful in a visual way that phone is not cluttered with stupid stuff, because already some reviewers said the bloatware does not seem to affect the performance or battery life of the phone, e.g. when I uninstall facebook and bixby and **** from Samsung phone it feels like someone added 4x more cpu cores to the phone, while on p30p it was fast and smooth and no jittering from ootb. This alone makes it worth to me to switch to a phone that I may or may not be able to root and flash in the near future, but I anyway wanted a phone I will keep "clean", without the hassle to always find a solution for google pay and banking apps to work.
