Hi all
so i have decided to buy P9
and i want to ask how is the performance and how is the camera shot
can someone give me some Pics ?
and the battery life is it really good ? how much would last if i'm using the phone only for browsing and calling ?
any advice to go with P9 single sim or Dual sim ?
does the NFC really needed or useful in anything beside payment ?
Cam is very good for photography, mediocre at video. Performance is excellent. Battery lasts me almost always two full work days.

Same here! Amazing phone, there is a whole thread with camera samples. With one word - GREAT. Totally worth the money and as a device the only other device that's better for me is the Pixel phone right now. But still I like the design of P9 more, so I would get it over the Pixel any day
Makeuseof. Com has an article about 9 things you can use NFC for that'll impress your friends.
Check it out
Can somebody check the performance of p9 and post the results in uxbench that is available playstore for free with no ads and is developed by me?
For now the fastest of all are mi5s and s7 edge exynos as you can see in compare tab. I wonder how well the kirin 955 performs in terms of cpu and generally ux performance.
The test is quick to complete about 2 minutes.

Thank you!
Excellent performance! 955 is as fast as 821 and exynos in single core and leads the multicore by far!
The little slow performance on nand write speed did not let it be the fastest phone in user experience! But single and multicore performance is really out of this world!

Excuse me for deleting the second run. I just keep the best performance for every device.
I have seen someone posted a test run with very high score. Until now Huawei P9 is the king of UXbench.
I will send a request in Mate 9 forum to ask somebody to test the device. I wonder how far can go the 960 chip.

Do you know if it modifies kernel or interferes with setCPU?
I sent them a message about it, let's see what they say.
No it don't mess with kernel, I also don't think it adjust cpu frequency as I think it would need root permission, which this app don't require.
Sent from my HTC One X
yepp, I installed it, and looks like what it does is that it organises when apps connect for sync and update, which sounds really good, and others don't do that.
yep, they said:
Thank you for your enquiry.
BatteryGuru does not modify the kernel or CPU settings in and way.

Just thought I would share the link on the review Toms Hardware does on the Nexus 5.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/google-nexus-5-smartphone,3720.html
It's a decent review until they get to the reviews.
Then they pretend like they know what they're talking about.
They know that the Note 3 'cheats'. But they fail to mention that other OEMs have closed source optimizations, other devices besides the Note 3 also 'cheat'.
Then they get too much into scores treating the phone like a new video card that's released. Good PC Reviewers (Which Tom's is also not but it's adorable that they try) don't always make for good phone reviewers.

Yea, they definitely focus mostly on benchmarks. Which is kinda lame. No one bases their decision to buy a phone on benchmarks.

People that read Tom's Hardware do. They know their audience well. That is why they focus on ridiculous benchmark numbers in all their reviews.

Well, I do take performance in general into consideration, but benchmarks are *so* unreliable that it's hard to base a decision off of them alone.
However, after reading the full review, I do think it was a good review. The Nexus 5 is a game changer and they realize that.

They show very good battery results, as Anandtech did.

Stock rom my note 4 scored 25417 in antutu. Thought wtf and tried testing again with the custom Skyfall rom, almost the exact same results.
Is my note 4 messed up? Should I do a device exchange?
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Are you letting your phone cool down before benching? Putting it in the freezer? (Real questions) I personally won't return a phone because of low benchmark that means nothing in the real world other than to show off. P.S.my first bench was in the 30ks

No, my phone was sitting idle for a good amount of time though before testing.how could my scores be so drasticly less than yours?

Heres the thing . You shouldnt rely on that benchmark score at all especially on custom ROMs . I have had Roms that performed amazing in everyway and tested poorly on benchmark . There are a lot of factors that decide your score and in some ways scores can be cheated . Others on XDA can explain better than I can but you need to try other ROMS and also try when your phone isnt hot as He$$

Also did you run benchmarks when you are on Stock only ? To compare?
Mines is 46512. Stock Rom, Rooted.
Maybe it's a running app that causing the low score.
Do you notice any lag? Gaming lag?
Mine was low too until I turned off power saving mode

I just tested mine while downloading a file in the background and scored 43K. Maybe you have something going on in the background that's a CPU hog. I'm on Stock but rooted.

So basically I did 2 tests on my phone.
1. With high performance enabled (decreases battery life)
2. With high performance disabled.
Before each test phone was cooled down to room temp.

In both cases the results seem...low considering S888 CPU.
And by default the high performance mode is disabled...cause it eats battery like crazy
What are your results?
@user154 your result is from high performance mode?
I see u have much lower temps than I had...do u use the case included or any other case?
In the meantime could u share the screen from CPU temp/clock monitoring on idle? On the main screen you have this little horizontal button with temps and details...just click.details, go to CPU tab and take a screenshot of all 8 cores charts.
My build is: CPH2173_11_A.16
Lol these scores are so pointless like SOT discussions. You won't notice the difference between two phones with different scores no matter how large the difference.....
Hello, i know that bench doesn't show the real UX but there is a gap between the first post and the standard score of find x3 pro.

What do you mean by gap?
A significant difference between your benchmark Antutu and my results. But dont be worried. It's the same phone. take care of the heat.

I would love to know everyone's opinion that is currently running Android 12 beta 5. I'm getting the best performance and battery life of just about any phone I've ever owned but this is also my first Pixel device. I also find the UI of Android 12 to be quite striking and a bold move in the right direction for Google. I will upload some screenshots of my benchmarks and device set up for those who are on Android 11 and curious about the beta's performance/aesthetic. Anyone else on this firmware please feel free to leave your thoughts/impressions/concerns in this thread.

agree, I like it as well. Although, I think the 5a could be just a little bit faster. Sometimes it's a little sluggish. But I am spoiled by S21Ultra and OnePlus8 Pro which I don't have anymore. The battery life is stellar. Sometimes I get through 2days before I have to start charging.
cheers

What happened to your OnePlus and S21 Ultra? Just curious.. I can relate though my previous phone was an LGV60 so I understand about the speed.. this is my first "Mid-range" device but I have to say aside from the speed/processing power of the V60, I think this Pixel 5a is superior in every other way. I'm definitely excited to see what kind of developmental support we'll be getting as more people get their hands on the device. If its already this good on stock android, I can't wait to see what this phone can do on a custom ROM.

I sold my OP 8Pro to buy the S21 Ultra. That was my downfall....
there is a long thread here that explains what happened to me with horrible Samsung Support story. Bottomline, screen had manufacturing problem and it took me 4 months to get my money back and it involved the consumer court.
I really like the 5a, don't get me wrong. It runs the latest Android, which I would not be able to do on the OP 8Pro or the S21 Ultra. The camera is wonderful. The sluggishness is mostly due to the fact that I got so used to >90Hz refresh rates.
cheers
What to expect and when ? And are we going to see 4.1 like we did with beta 2&3.
