[MOD] Adding NFC support to ROM - Final - HTC Desire C

Hey Guys,
I've added NFC support to my phone (currently running Nameless 7.3.1). Based on similar threads for Samsung phones (e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822447), I have extracted the NFC libraries from my original NFC-enabled Desire C ROM (Orange France build 2.00.73.1) and I've made a flashable zip.
Confirmed working as I could read my passport information (scan back cover with NFC Tag Info).

settings.apk not working , NFC settings option is not
-I took settings.apk app folder manually. Settings does not work

Original settings.apk from my original NFC rom was just a suggestion to solve the issue, so that someone could mod it and make it work.

Well, I had forgotten to deodex the apk...
Please flash this file. It should work fine (enable NFC through Settings -> More).

cwm settings.apk.zip not working.

Push it to system/app via adb.

A dumb post. Just ignore it.

How to view if my HTC has got NFC?

There are properly some extra libs for NFC could someone send me the system image?

Confirmed working. Check 1st post.
In case of issues, double check permissions applied to /system/vendor/firmware/libpn544_sw.so which should be 644.

thank you. came to the settings NFC , I click. Happens. I wonder why?

i don't have balls to try it, because my gingerbread is working awesome and looks georgeous. but the circle mod status bar will fit perfect in my theme... who ever will test it, will get a "thanks" (if it is enough).
by the way: very useful thread!!!

have you managed it and how? do you have any errors after that? thx in advance.
i'm one step closer now: i tried to extract the framework-res.apk by adb, (re)place the old battery icons by the new ones with winrar (as a lot of tutorials say on google), gave the framework-res.apk the permission 644 and adb it back to phone. i don't get errors, but the icon is stuck 80%... just when i plugin usb, it changes to charging icon (but this is stuck, too - no animation!)
can anybody try this please? i would like to know if it's related to my build (mdj gingerbread 2.2) or if i made some mistakes?! editing stat_sys_battery.xml should not be necessary, since i just replaced a few icons, right? thx in advance for suggestions.

Updated some graphic glitches in framework-res, new upload. I know now how to properly decompile ics.
Got the rom running, runs very smooth thus far! Good job!
/offtopic: any chance of a senseless rom in the future?
I leave it as stock, Cyanogenmod is only the best senseless rom faraway so close, but I like Sense.

EQS update removed flashlight.
Keep up the good work... I was wondering, is there a way to remove the "charging" status while charging the phone? Don't really think people like the floating battery on the screen at night.
I dont think so, but I like its function, I dont have to wakeup phone to see if battery is full.

If I want the battery to show % do I need to flash the extended settings or is it there by default on the rom?
Is there a way to get battery % without the extended settings if currently that is what is needed
Battery percentage is included in eqs, not sure on how to make it on stock systemui cause uot kitchen fails.

When you put work from others in your ROM/mod, you should respect their demands instead of ignoring them.
updated again fixed after using adb wireless/ adb won't work in usb, now is fixed
if you can't connect through adb wireless
try first pinging your phone in cmd type: ping -t 192.168.0.5
keep it running until it has response like =TTL64
then you can connect to it.
open a new cmd window the type: adb connect 192.168.0.5
then you can adb shell or pull push any adb commands
but usb cable is faster.
note:change 192.168.0.5 to your phone's ip stated in the quicksettings, also keep screen on to avoid wifi sleeping.
Thank you! But I like hte stock Rom and the stock SystemUI hahaha!
We have our own interest.
I'm not forcing anybody to flash anything I post.
Uhmm hu hu hu hu hu hu.
Any chance you could make the extended settings but with default battery icon please ?

[Q] Hosts File and other System Files get restored after reboot

Hi,
i got a annoying Issue with the ONE. If i edit my hosts file manually or with the AdAway App everything works fine until i restart the Phone. (Sometimes it's not necessaryto restart, the files get restored without i recognize some rebooting)
The Hosts and other System Files will be restored to the Original State. See Screenshots below.
Before reboot:

ah... thank you... can you recomend some image for the HTC ONE? (Stock Android 4.3)
I've had good luck with flar2's kernels. He has 'bulletproof' if you want a set it and forget kernel or elementalX if you want more control with over/under-clocking and over/under-volting, etc...

Pardon if I'm reviving something of an old thread, but I have the same issue. I have a GS4 that I've flashed to a Google Edition-based ROM (wanted 4.3 kernel and something slimmer that still had Wallet support), but I've noted the exact same thing. Any hosts-based ad-blocker tends to fall flat no matter what the method I used. Any attempt to alter the hosts file is always reset upon reboot.
I've already taken advice and tried a custom kernel (in this case, Chronic Kernel), but not only did this not fix the hosts file problem, it also broke Wallet, so I had to backtrack. I may be stuck with my ROM's kernel due to the Wallet support.
Perhaps someone has another suggestion?
I'm also having the same issue on gs4 any help would be appreciated
