I have paired my Xperia t with my Xbox 360 and I can throw music, pictures and some movies to the xbox to show on my tv, but it doesn't show the videos filmed with the camera phone ( mp4 format). It showed the demo videos that came in the phone perfectly, but I have since deleted them and don't know what format they were in... Probably avi.
When I try to push camera phone videos it just shows 'playback error'
Anybody out there managed to stream their camera phone videos on Xbox? Or should i just give. up? Thanks.

I am a movie buff and I like watching them on my phone. I upgraded from a LG Env Touch that I had no problem watching videos. Now that I have a Droid 3 I have not found an app that will let me play my videos. I have install a bunch to find out they will not play my videos in any format. I have tried Mobo player that I was told was the best and that it played most if not all video formats but when I go to click on the folder in which to scan in it shows no videos. If I go to the file folder in apps where the video files would be I click on a video and it ask me what app do I want to play this file and when I select Mobo sometimes it plays but most of the time it won’t. Someone please help with these apps so I can play my movies. I have tried everything I can think of I am a computer person but I think I am doing something wrong. I have tried almost all formats and I have set the conversion program to convert the video to the Droid 3's accepted format and screen res of 980 by 540 and still can't get it to play. What is messed up is that the Motorola app ZumoCast plays all my video off my computer by a 3g connection linked to my computer but I can't find a standalone app that will do this. "Please help me"
I know it's by no means a fancy video player, but I have no issues loading on videos and watching them in QuickPic. I use .wmv shrunk down so the height is 480 and the width whatever keeps the original ratio. I placed them in the external SD card's DCIM folder then added that folder to QuickPic's gallery. I like QP because it allows you to select which folders are in your gallery. Essentially, you could have a folder called "movies" and that would be a sub-folder in your QP gallery.
I use the classic rock player and it plays anything.
I'm trying to play videos off my PC by loading the file in chrome and then using the chromecast plugin to cast or playing videos off dropbox using aircast.
Either way, I haven't yet found 1 video that will play sound. When using chrome on the PC, I hear sound on the PC, then once I cast it, sound stops on the PC and I don't get sound on the TV.
I've tried .mkv and .mp4. If I try to play an .avi within chrome, the video just downloads into chrome, but it doesn't play, so I can't cast it.
I guess only certain sound formats will play on the chromecast?
Does anyone have a sample/reference file that definitely plays from chrome on the PC to the chromecast on the TV with sound? If that works, then I know it's just the file formats I'm trying.
I get sound when casting netflix and youtube.
Bump, Anyone?
I even just tried converting an mkv/ac3 to mkv/aac and mkv/mp3 and I still didn't get any audio.
i got the same issues using Chrome. Like you said, netflix and youtube work fine.
as you said avi will just download, MKV with ac3 will have no sound but mp4 works ok for me, just doesnt automatically resize. which doesn't help you much.
Can anyone at all play an .mkv with any type of audio and get both audio and video working on the TV? If so, I'd really like to try that same file.
i've only tested with MP4. i was able to get sound and video to play on TV. not sure what codecs those videos are in tho.

Do you have a small MP4 that you know works that maybe you can upload here or upload to dropbox and share a public link for it?
i don't. what i was testing were episodes and movies i downloaded.
Hi, my chromecast plays most youtube videos fine... except a red-band trailer for a film I tried to watch (it said not available),
I can watch it on my laptop though... are there age restrictions or something on the youtube app specifically?
That's not unique to the Chromecast - I've seen that happen with other streaming media players as well (Youtube video won't play on the media player, but plays on a PC at the same IP address with no special measures). I haven't seen any good explanation. Possibly that clip uses a rare video format that isn't supported on the media player?
when i connect the phone to a smart tv* to watch a movie i cant enable subtitles.but when i play any movie from gallery subtitles work fine.
I had the same movie before updating the phone to 4.4 and stream it to the smart tv without any problem but after updating to 4.4 subtitles wont show up.

So i had my S5 for quite a while but still don't know which would be the better option. I went to a rave a few days ago and recorded with 2160p, but when transferring onto my computer with a usb cable, I was unable to play it on Window Media Player. The question is, would it be better for me to record at 2160p or 1080p? I do not have a 4k monitor, just a regular 1080p. What are the advantages if I record with 2160p instead of 1080p? And also is there a way to play my videos recorded in 2160p on window media player instead of having to download VLC?
