Hi, all.
While installing again my common apps on my just upgraded to official JB Note don't let me install an app because (it says) not enough space!!
I'm plenty of space!. WTF??
Any one else with this problem? I can swear I have enough space, for this app and for many others!
Sorry for the rant.

are you rooted? try clearing the playstore's cache
check on " LOST.DIR" n clean it!
install sdmaid to do cleaning works !
Have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1616748

LOST.DIR is empty.
The phone is really clean, guys. There is no reason for such an advice for sure.
I haven't got this error until now.

Is your phone rooted? Open titanium backup and check how much space is there in system Rom. Then sort app by size and uninstall some that you don't use. Then try to install app again.
Clear cache and dalvik cache via recovery.

I went from a clean install. Doing all people tells to avoid such a kind of troubles.
I've done all wipes, all clear data, all clear dalvik. I really don't know what else do from here so I went here searching for some help. You can't help, that's ok. Maybe other could.
But, hey... thanks for nothing, dude.
Are you using Lucky Patcher? If yes the solution is simple.
Open Lucky Patcher
Select Troubleshooting from options.
Select remove fixes and backups (insufficient storage available)
Reboot (optional)
All should be okay.
Hi.
I first want to give you thanks for your support.
Finally problem was gone. I can't tell you how. I can't say what of the "n" wipes I had done has fixed my troubles.
My problem was /data partition was almost full. Why? I don't know. Before flash I have done all possible wipes: data + cache, cache, dalvik-cache, wipe for install a new ROM on philz's kernel recovery. Even I formated sd card from pc...
That's why I was confused. Once flashed /data partition was almost fully populated with a bunch of weird folders, even just flashed and with no apps installed yet.
Like I said, now problem has gone. Why it cames and why it goes? Just don't know. But, hey, I'm just a noob.
Thanks for your suggestions and your support. Great community.
Regards.

Hi Folks,
I am not new to this forum and i successfully flashed and tested out several custom ROMs. And yes, I know, I am still a Noob
But I have a weird problem now...
It doesn't matter which ROM I flash, my device won't get wiped. Well yes, I messed up my Nandroid backups, but:
I tried several kernels, ROMs and bootloaders. Even with the ones from samfirmware.com.
I tried it via Recovery and via the Android settings. And I've got all these old folders and files which don't get deleted when you uninstall an app. I'd really like to have a clean phone.
I know, it's a luxury problem, but it is very annoying.
So, could anyone please point me to some direction?
Thanks in Advance!
Cheers, berkley

Exact!!!
Well wipe does not wipe everything. I think to do what you are asking you need to format the internal SD card right after or maybe before a flash. That won't do the system stuff (I believe) but just the user area. The apks should recreate what they need afterwards.
But I haven't done it for a long time so don't trust me 100%. But that should do it and if you are flashing after it should clean it all up even if something useful got lost.

Use sd card maid to find legacy folders and for general clean up, amazing app

All data will be wiped if you flash with Odin with PIT-file and 'Re-partition' ticked.
Sent from hell to take your soul
could also try using the format internal SD card from the phones menu.
Does that mean that even a full reset doesn't wipe everything?
Full reset as done via punching in *2767*3855# on the dialer.
Hi Guys,
thanks for your nice words and help. I really don't know what was wrong. And I really don't know, what has fixed it!!! But now everything is working again. Thanks a ton!!!

Hey Guys,
I m very new to flashing. Flashed for the 1st time last nite. Made 2 backups. Flashed Stock JVR. Ten applied SURFACE Rom on it. Then applied PaulGiddy's Theme on it. (Thanx Guys!!).
Now the problem is: I downloaded some apps from the market and it was fine. But Now, Whenever I try to download from the market, error message flashes up saying something about insufficient space.
Maybe it is due to 2 backups in CWM backup, maybe cache, maybe I donno what I m talking about .
Pls Help me out guys.
Sorry for being such a n00b.
Try going into settings/applications/manage applications and wipe market cache, if that doesn't work try wiping one of your cwm backups let me know if it sorts it out

Thnx but I figured that out myself too... Could not delete the market cache as it was faded but I deleted the older CWM backup, and things started looking fine......
Thnx anyway.... +1
It's always so scary posting on forums like this but I did multiple searches and couldn't seem to find my answer so here I am.
I have just flashed from ALBA Syndicate v4 to RocketRom v1 JB and all is well aside from some of the known bugs.
But I have a query.
When browsing my internal SD card I see all sorts of folders and data left over from all of my previous installs and apps. No I am not sure if this actually affects the way my phone works but I don't like how messy and confusing it is. So I went into settings and tried to format USB storage as they call it. It said complete but all folders were still there and it seems as though nothing had changed. PS I don't mind losing pictures or anything at all, I want a clean start.
I also tried to 'format /sdcard' in CWM but it said there was an error mounting it and couldn't compete. I guess that's because it is referring to an external card...
If someone would help me I would greatly appreciate it. I would like to know how to format my internal storage and when or how it is safe to do so.
Many thanks in advance!
ratty x
PPS I couldn't post in the official thread for RocketRom v1 because I am still a forum noob but I wanted to say a massive thank you because it's awesome. And thank you for my 50gb dropbox upgrade!
Easiest way to format properly is to mount it on your PC, then manually select all the files and delete. The built in wipe never seems to do a proper wipe.

i have the same problem, and i also tried to delete all data trough pc. and also tried through rom changing but all data and apps showing as it is.
pls help us guys
what rom and kernel are you on? what do you mean by deleted data and all showing ? apps will be deleted when you do a factory reset from recovery. but you have to be on a safe kernel. if you installed a non wipe rom,. it will still carry on your apps. you need to install a wipe rom

No, not all the time. Just when I wipe dalvik cache and on first boot after. Try to do that, like Frapeti said.

Go to CWM, on first page there is wipe cache - do it. Then go to advance and there is wipe dalvik cacke. Do it too. It should do that thing on start one more time (because wiping dalvik) and on others it will not.

Do not know. You tried to flash firmware again with Odin and do factory reset?
Afaik, the tz kernel must be having some zipalign script. The script must be causing the issue!
I do not respond to tech support via PM

the message occurs to me everytime I use deodexed ROM, ie. immediately after flashing deodexed system and apps, the first enter into GUI takes couple of minutes - there's a window with text "optimizing application x of y" but on later reboots it just appears for a short while without numbers.
