Im sorry if this is in the wrong section, but when overclocking my phone I notice that it tends to stay in the highest clock possible. If I have it at 1.2 its at 1.2 for 90% of the time. How can one fix this problem? Is it a kernal or voltage control problem?

Try disabling the perflock. That will allow your device to read the frequencies. The only thing is you have to disable the perflock everytime u reboot. But it will enable your custom profiles. I had the.exact same problem.
But as always you can download a kernel with the perflock permanently disabled. But if u like your current kernel, just disable the perflock inside Setcpu

What ROM and kernel are u using? If using a kernel like hardcore's speedmod, did u make sure u r flashing the Captivate version, and not the 9000 version.

Do captivates have this perflock? I never thought they did. The last I heard it was HTC phones that had this to be disabled. I have flashed quite some ROMs and kernels, and never had a necessity to even use SetCPU.
And to honest, I would recommend NOT to use set cpu on any captivate with 2.2 or higher rom/kernel. That tends to mess up the phone.
Im gonna be using phoenix 4.5 once it finishes downloading... but as of now, im on 4.1 and with setirons kernal1.5.6

Hi. I'm new to here.
I have rooted my Gnote, and i dont know wether it is a full root or what.
For maximizing my battery, i underclocked my Gnote by setting max CPU freq to 800 MHz or 1 GHz using SetCPU.
But.. according to the CPU history using No-Frills app, it written there it is still clocked to 1400 Mhz and 1200 MHz sometimes.
Is this a rom problem? Or kernel ?
Btw i'm using stock and SpeedMod k3-3 kernel.

sometimes setcpu seems to not wanna start after a reboot so I really recommend you start the app and see everything is well in the app and see from there that your cpu frequency does not exceed the selected value. Otherwise I recommend using voltage control. I'm using it on speed mod and all is good for me.
Cheers.

Open super user and double check that its been granted permission. If so open your file manager and make sure you can access the data folder in root and set rw priveledges, make sure you have full root.

ALL ROMS AND DEVICES SUPPORTEDfor both of these mods listed below
single / dual and quad core
V6 super Charger in post 2
MULTI-CORE GOVERNORS AND FREQUENCIES
this is a patch which allows you to edit the governor of each core independently, as well as setting each its own min / max frequencies, IT'S NOT MY WORK AND ALL THANKS GOES TO Smokin1337
Firstly dl the zip, then flash via your chosen recovery, I flashed on fresh installs so I recommend you wipe your cache/dalvik cache to be on the safe-r side of life , if flashing over a *settled* rom
You will then need to run the command "su" in terminal emulator , followed by "cpu"
Then all settings are self explanatory inside the terminal emulator,
Here's the op
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584508
Here's the link to terminal emulator in the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm&hl=enO
This mod , may be cancelled out by other mods and/or settings saved from them, I would recommend clearing data from system tuner, set CPU, CPU tuner etc, and reinstalling them without making changes to CPU , also disable forced dual core if you have a 3rd party app enabling it. Er........ I think that's it
.....nope, if you restore from apps such as titanium back up, any data containing CPU configs you restored may need to be removed too, if you want to make sure you are getting the settings set in terminal emulator and not those launched via init.d or on boot completion
Enjoy
V6 SUPER CHARGER SCRIPT
LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL............. ReDraws n' Lag Will Be Gone!
its like having a turbo on your device, lots of work has been put into this dont forget to go thank Zeppelinrox on The OP below
it has worked for me on his previous releases and accross many roms,
you may need a busybox update, to prevent a possible cause of a boot loop, but it does auto detect version,
and it is easy enough to upgrade busybox version,
with this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.busybox.installer&hl=en free from the market/play store,
you will also need an app like script manager https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=os.tools.scriptmanager&feature=search_result free from the market, and dont forget to turn the little su android button green to run as root when running the script
heres the OP, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276 ,
thanks to Zeppelinrox

As long as you don't have init.d scripts in your system/etc that can conflict, you shouldn't need too, I re run the script everytime I flash a new Rom. So 3 times a day sometimes lol , but once a week should be more than adequate, the cleaning script should be done, at the end of each time you supercharge
Thanks. Hopefully this will fix the memory leak issue on CM10

I think there is an issue with cm10 / jb - if your busybox is indifferent, change busybox at your own risk, be sure to nand before you alter busybox
Will try it now.

no use 32 or 33. but id recommend running 32, to ensure you get all settings, saved from the script u just ran
One more thing. Does the script stick when changing kernel? Or should I run it everytime I flash a new kernel?

Hi all
I'm using the XS-Kernel on ARHD. I like it, but i'm pretty new to rooting and hacking with my Incredible (previous i had a wildfire which was s-off'd, but only for flashing Android 2.3)
Now i have some questions about the XS-Kernel
First, i'm using s2w now, cause my powerbutton is broken. But I heard it uses more battery. Thats clear. I send my phone to repair. After that i don't want to use s2w. I can disable it with the flashable zip, but after a restart the setting is reset. How can I permanently disable s2w?
Second Question: What is VDD? Is it for undervolting? How can I undervolt my phone? For the cpu i use SetCPU.
Can someone help me with oc/uv daemons?
It would be really nice if someone can give me a step for step instruction

1. the flashable zip contains an init.d script. Try using script manager to navigate to /system/etc/init.d and set it to run as root and at boot
2. VDD is for undervolting. I like to use incredicontrol for UV, its really easy, download from play store
3. You can download the andrev daemon here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1222020
Download the app and use it to install the daemon, its controllable from there
If it doesn't stick, let us know because there is a fix for that

If you use daemon controller, uninstall setcpu because they will conflict each other
Only use daemon controller for CPU
And use Incredicontrol for voltage
So uninstall setcpu but have both incredicontrol and daemon controller
Now i'm using andrev and daemon controller. I can set there the voltage too, so do i need incredicontrol?
Is there any way to set the cpu scheduler?

If you can set voltages using the daemon controller app, you can uninstall incredicontrol too
It just doesn't stick for me using daemon controller, might be different for you

Download Trickster Mod app from play Store.
Using your favorite cpu tuner (mines setcpu but you can use something like antutu just search play store for cpu) set max to 1600 and min to 360 than put a screen off profile at 360 and 240 (values are approximate). Once done DO NOT check "set on boot" as incompatible setting can put you in a boot loop.
Link to antutu cpu master (free)

Did you press menu and set on boot?
for antutu u nv put coz i scared bootloop as the person mention above...but i dono where is the setting for set on boot for trickster
Press menu within the app and the first option is set on boot.
Forgot to mention if your on a post gingerbread rom, you can set on boot however being on gb and running cm7 I opt out, rarely seems to be a problem as my phone is almost never powered off.
