Lately i've noticing a strange sound behavior. Whenever i play Music on the loudspeaker Music tends to fade out and in, i mean the volume goes down and then up, and no matter what player i use it,s happening so often that it's getting annoying. Any help or ideas, has anyone faced this problem? And don't know if it's rom related.
it's like something is making the sound to lose focus, like when you recieve a message while listening to Music with a headset but on headset this problem doesn't show up.
And for everyone to know i'm not using any sound mod.
edit: noticed that apps that use audio are crashing more than they should.
Hay man, I have the exact same problem, Sounds fades out then comes back... Oddly enough it's only just started happening in the last day or so. I'm on stock jellybean update with locked bootloader.
Is there any solution to this? Ive tried rebooting etc but no luck.

Try freezing soundenhancement.apk. I know this works on arc, maybe the same bug applies to XT/XTX etc.

Did that and no changes so far.
When playing walkman..i realise that the music seems like its stop and then play again..its stop around half a second..this happen in a few time per song..
Well I'm still having this problem but i've noticed that it happens oftenly whenever i'm listening music on loudspeaker and i open Chrome to navigate, it Triggers the problem. Been trying using Dolphin and it doesn't produce the problem.
I'm not 100% if chrome has to be blamed but that's what i've noticed
This weekend will try changing ROM to see if the problem goes away.
I have noticed this bug as well

Since disabling xloud I don't seem to get the issue anymore, anyone confirm?
Sent from my LT30p using xda premium
I've already tested by disabling xloud, but the problem persists, gonna try rebooting after disabling
Edit: same result after rebooting. The ultimate Test is to play Music then start browsing with chrome (at least with two tabs opened) the Sound will fade out and in eventually. Have in mind that only happens with the internal Speaker of the phone. No headphones or external speakers.
Well moved from TurzzdROM to Gregbradley's Assaye 1.1.0 and there's no sight of the problem, Not saying that was the ROM because i did something else, that is is not enabling Clear phase in Settings/sound, I just activated Xloud and thats it.
So... Try disabling clear phase on settings and rebooting and see if that works.
I'm on JB & is it just me, but I noticed that the sound settings of ringtone & noticifactions isn't very loud.
If you use the max. volume settings, it isn't loud at all....
Any one else noticed this?

Hi,
The stock music player stops (actually pauses the music) randomly on my Samsung SGS, usually after around 30 mins of playback. Has anyone else encountered this issue?
I'm running 2.2.1 XXJPY on an unlocked 8GB SGS.
I certainly didnt have this issue. Are you using the headphones for listening to music?
Maybe, IMO, the headphones are loose and it is coming out. whenever you pluck out the headphones from the phone, the music pauses.
The headphones appear to be attached quite securely and most of my listening is done at work sitting at a desk. I'll try a different set of headphones though and see if they make a difference.

I am getting this as well even without headphones plugged in. Seems to be random - it can happen within 5 minutes, or it can play for hours without stopping.
This also happens to me, same with Power Amp, Music Mod, and the stock player. It just randomly stops playing every so often, it's very annoying.
I only listen through headphones and I have seen other threads that suggest it is something to do with the contact on the headphones but they are always securely fit in, and it happens on my brother's phone as well.
Most likely it has to do with the contacts.
Try to twiggle the plug a bit while listening to something. If music stops it's the plug.
I experience this issue with PowerAMP and the plug for my car stereo, when i just rotate it completely plugged in.
Anyone have anything else to offer on this? I know it's not a headphone connection issue as it happens when using bluetooth in the car as well. It happens with Poweramp, Listen and Audible so I guess it must be something to do with it killing the apps or something? It drives me mad!
I was experiencing this issue a year and a half ago when I owned an HTC legend. It happened then on stock rom and also CM6.
I've owned my SGS for about 8 months now and have experienced this bug on every rom I've tried (froyo, KC1, KG3, now CM7).
I've looked at the log files when this happens and it simply says something to the effect of "cannot read from source" or "premature end of file." (I can't remember exactly). Strange thing is, the music is only paused, I can hit play and resume right where it stopped, so there is obviously no issues with reading the file. It also happens when I'm listening to podcasts in google listen.
I've learned to live with it.
Also about the headphones, I use the external speaker when rocking my baby daughter to sleep sometimes and it happens then too.
thanks for sharing: I get this periodically and wasn't sure what was causing it

I have the same issue, any luck with a solution?
Has anyone had any problems with PowerAmp on their bionic? Sometimes it stops playing when i have it connected to bluetooth headphones . Tried playing around with all the settings to no avail. the only way i can get it to play sometimes is by ticking the box that says play when connection resumes to BT. Basically what it does is play but it produces no sound. I've contacted the DEV multiple times and no responce
basically from someone else with the same problem
"I start playing PowerAmp
While a song is playing, I'll switch to another song (either by swiping or by pressing the "next" button)
I'll switch songs a few times, and after a few (7-10 songs) the audio will stop coming out. However, the timer will still advance, so the player thinks that the song is still playing.
During this time, all other sounds work normally, just not PowerAmp. The workaround is to kill the task using the stock task manager and then restart PowerAmp.
This is a hugely annoying bug on an otherwise great program. This bug makes it borderline unusable. It never used to happen on my old DroidX, so I'm not sure if it's related to the new phones, or if an update created this bug."
I use to have that same problem. I think i solved it since i haven't had the problem anymore. But i turned off all the fading and that seemed to work.

i will try this, thanks for the help!
thank you for the help, been using it and the fix works!
I had this problem. I switched to 2.0 beta 3 and I haven't had the problem since.

Edit: just that the rc is available. Sweet!
I have the same issue. I would use task killer then go back to Power Amp and it would start playing again. I just upgraded to 2.0 last night and we will see what happens
after the update i was confused on how to get the EQ and shuffle mode turned on from the player menu. turns out if you tap the album art in the middle of the screen itll pop up in the corners. confusing if your used to the old layout.
I had this same issue for weeks. Been really aggravating me. Glad i am not alone. I will try turning off all Fading. Thanks for the tip. I updated the app too. Hopefully the bug is gone.
I haven't used my speakers in about a week so I decided to try them today. I got a weird popping sound as soon as I opened up YouTube. Once I started playing a video, a steady pop persisted even though the audio was coming out. I tried playing through multiple music apps, turning beats audio off, and restarted the phone with no luck. This is only happening for my top speaker only when I enter an app that plays sound. The sound also persists for a few seconds after I stop sound. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks.

In the main thread about such noises somebody has fixed this persistent popping through repair of HTC. It's hardware.
The popping sound (one single pop) a few seconds after a sound is played seems to affect a lot of people! Don't know if that's hard- or software. My device got that, too.

I've seen threads on that but it doesn't seem to be my issue. The sound doesn't just occur when I stop a sound, it occurs as soon as I start playing sound. Its constantly there. If I open up a song, it will continue to pop through the duration of the song until I stop the song completely. This makes it hard to make phone calls too. Headphones work fine though so its definitely related to the speaker. I haven't read about this specific issue on xda before so I decided to post it.

Yes. Your problem is a hardware defect (a user wrote about that), my phone doesn't have this problem. The seconds one (the single pop) often occurs.

.Hello everyone,
I had this problem with my Xperia T for a long time. I searched the forums for something like this but didnt seem to find anything similar to this.
So to cut to the chase the problem is that there is no sound from internal speaker no matter which source it is from: walkman, sms sound, call ringtone, youtube, etc. So there is no sound at all from internal speaker, but is I connect my earphones I can hear everything. The only thing that fix this is restarting phone. Now there are two things that triggers this phenomenon. First one is when I am switching between silent, vibrate, airplane and normal modes. Another one is when I listen to music with earphones plugged and I plug earphones out without turning music off. I did factory reset, but it didnt do anything. I am on latest build (9.1.A.1.141). So yeah thats pretty much everything.
If you need any more info please ask and ill try to provide it. Thanks in advance.

The thing with the earphone plug out is a known bug as far as I know. But I remember having read something about a fix in the T General Section.. Just have a look, you might be lucky..
I think the thread is called "Walkman bug solved" or something similar ^^

After a certain amount of time, or opening a certain app, the phone will develop this annoying speaker pop on some screen clicks. I haven't figured out what causes it yet but it happens even when the phone is set to "total silence". A reboot always fixes it. I had my screen clicks enabled but have turned them off and rebooted and everything is fine now. If I figure out which app or circumstances cause it, I will post the fix.
I'm having the same issue. Happens during app launch for pretty much all my apps.

Reboot fixes it temporarily. If you notice it happens after the speaker goes dormant. If the speaker is making continual sound it won't do it. Once to goes to make its first sound after sitting, it pops. Even does it on silent. Don't know what is triggering it yet.
Supposedly someone has done a FDR and no longer has the issue.

The pop has not returned today and the only thing I did different is not hook up the mod. It may be that.

Well that really wouldn't say much because a reboot fixes it every time by itself. Where is the audio effects setting?
I started noticing this in the Twitter app.

I've noticed this as well. When scrolling through my FB or IG feed, any time a video starts playing (even with the sound defaulted to off), I hear a tiny lil speaker pop. It doesn't particularly bother me all that much, but I definitely noticed it.
I was thinking about it the other day and noticed it sounds a bit like a static pop. Kinda like when you plug a guitar into an amp when it's on. Might be some sort of initiation for the speaker. As long as it doesn't affect anything else or causes damage, I'm not too bothered by it. Especially hearing that it's as widespread it is.
hey guys ive figured out what is causing it but the solution might be some sort of software patch.
its the act of connecting to a BT device and then streaming audio like XM/Google music ect. once you disconnect the pop/snap sound appears on all things that activate the speaker. the twitter pull down is the best thing to test this with but it happens on all sounds from the first time you play a song/video to changing a ring tone ect.
here is a video of the sound. ive tried it on both my cars BT, a bose standalone BT speaker, and even and old FM transmitter and all the BT devices cause the pop once they are disconnected.
the reason why its happening is a little over my head but I was thinking something with DRM possibly?
another thing i discovered is it does not happen on the non Force regular Moto Z. I tested the exact same scenarios on it and it does no speaker pop
I was going to return my phone for another but this thread and a few others makes me think its a full on bug with the Force not a bad phone out of the box
ive tried a simple network reset clearing BT but that didnt work. before I try any luck with a factory reset or is it a waste of time?
Looks like this has been posted on the Moto forums https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-Z-Force/Speaker-issue/td-p/3382728

Well it makes sense why I've never heard it then...I've have not had my phone connected to a Bluetooth device
Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
I have confirmed today that it definitely is not "mod" related. I haven't had my JBL hooked up in 48 hours and there has been no pop. I drove to work today listening to music through my truck speakers using bluetooth. Pop is back. @MCN1SMO was right, it is bluetooth related. The only way out is to reboot. LAME.
Just my two cents on the topic, I am not having this issue, however, I do use bluetooth daily, my phone has been on continuously for almost two weeks now. I work outside so use the JBL speaker and have my phone in my shirt pocket listening to music while working. I keep it at about 80% volume for battery life. I am averaging about 6 hours of listening a day.
Also I have my bluetooth connected to the work truck (Ford Sync) to and from work which includes a 4 hour commute home on Fridays and back on Sunday nights to the town I stay in during the week. I have yet to hear any kind of pop from either the JBL or device speakers.
Personally I keep bluetooth off when I am not connected to a device I am not sure if this has any effect or not but it could be worth testing if you are able to replicate the problem. I have been taking off the speaker when not using it as well, but have left it on a few days.
I do also remember reading about an issue with Pandora and bluetooth. I am not sure if Pandora is what you are using or not, if it is try something else and see if the problem persists. I stopped using Pandora a few years back when I was a mechanic and had a bluetooth adapter for a code scanner for cars. If I opened Pandora I would have to reset before the adapter would operate normally.
