I have a friend with a galaxy s plus and he dropped his phone and now wants to replace the silver line/frame/ring(i don't know what its actually caplled).can IT only be removed or will he need the full front replace
It's very hard to replace i ended up sanding off the silver to leave the grey plastic underneath.
It can be replaced without full front case. You can find a spare one on the net.

Guys my phone's faceplate is damaged... one of the corner is scratched , even though its metal.
My phone is under warranty.
Can any one recommend me what to do?
Like should i go to a LG service center or is there an alternative way to buy it any where online in India.
Please provide a link for the latter
Yeah, i have the similar problem but i just use a CASE to hide the SCRATCHES,
You should try it.
I don't understand what you mean, the only metal on the phone is the back where it says "With GOOGLE". The silver side surround is plastic.
It is possible to replace the screen surrounding plate (its plastic with metal effect) without replacing the digitizer? I found that they are offered as s single part.

You can, but the bezel is stick to the digitizer using 3M adhensive, and is very hard to remove... (I disassembled the unit before, to replace my LCD and the digitizer, and the frame)
Take a look at ebay for replacement
the plastic metal effect its one with the groilla display they all make the front cover and you need to replace all front cover, a pay for mine 90€ in the lg services because my gorrila display was scrath a the metal plastic too.
I'd love to have that brown shell! With the way the screens are built into the device, is it even possible to completely swap to a different color shell?

The front glass is replaceable, though it may require some know how. There are parts for the grey and the white N7100 so it will be a matter of time before the new color parts will be available.

The color under the front glass is harder to change. It takes a lot of tear down. The middle (the chrome sides that surround the edge of the phone) and rear housing are simple replacements that take a pry tool or fingernail and removal of 11 screws. I ordered two complete middle and rear housing when they were on sale for 15.95. since its such an easy replacement, I'll change them out when my chrome sides get dinged and scratched which they always do eventually and when I sell the phone later down the line.
for the front and back of the Note2. Maybe there is a version with some type of grip on the back part? Not sure but just front and back variations would be fine.
I have not tried invisible sheild but can tell you that you need to have a hard plastic protection on the front. I tried Copter first, as it was the only one available, and it sucks for our screen. After a days use it looked like an ice rink. The S-Pen marks it.
Regarding a shield on the back I think it is better to use a cover. The wear I have on my Note, after just over four months, would not be avoided with invisible shield on the back. The wear I have is on the silver frame that goes around the phone and on the end of the S-Pen. This is likely to have been caused while sliding the phone in and out of pockets.
I will be ordering a new flip cover from an online store in the UK that is super thin and that actually covers the back side and frame without adding bulk.
Bestskinsever.com it comes with sides back and front.

I have The invisisheild on mine and on my wife's S3. It has a bit of a "sticky" feel to it at first but after using it for a while it has been nice. If you press too hard with the S pen it will grab a a bit.
hi, i have a question about a back cover of the xperia z1. i bought the white one, but i was thinking that a black back cover would be really nice on my white phone. or the purple one would be nice too.
Now i was thinking to buy a back cover of the z1 in black or purple on ebay for 15-25 euro and then just stick it on the back of my phone. i don't want to open my z1, just stick it on the back. Do you think that would work? The only thing i see as a problem is that the opening of the camera is too narrow. What do you think?
thanks in advance!

There's an adhesive around the edges of the glass so you would see the gap probably, as for the camera you can just pop out of remove the lens on the glass you want to stick on.

is the adhesive thick? Because now that i know that i can remove the lens, i really want to do it right know
also, if i want to take it off, will it be easy? or do i have to use a hairdryer to loosen the adhesive. i am actually scared because then the heat will affect the adhesive on my actual white back glass. Or could i use like a knife to make a hole or sometime to break the vacuum? (just some random thoughts)
No you would need to heat up the adhesive, use a suction cup to pull it off. If you are careful you should be able to reuse the white glass again. Might not be safe for waterproofing reasons but would still stay on. The adhesive isn't very thick but I think you would see it being raised a little but if you put it on top of the white glass.

The corner of my glass has started coming up from the rest of the phone. It looks like some kind of foam glue used to hold it together. The phone is perfect otherwise. Is there any way to repair this other than buying a new screen and digitizer assembly? I can attach a picture if this description is not clear.
I also would rather not remove the glass from the LCD as this looks difficult and risky.

It turns out you can remove the entire screen assembly from it's metal and plastic frame with a little heat and a thin plastic prying tool (I used a guitar pick). I tried LCD tape but it was not strong enough. I ended up using loctite plastic bonder and it seems to be holding strong. I just hope it lasts long enough so a new phone comes out which can adequately replace my Turbo.
