You can't flash Sony's .sin files with flashboot, you need to leave them in the .ftf and flash em with Flashtool.

the bootloader on the Xperia Z is a lot different than the previous devices...
it will not allow flashing kernel.sin..
only way to flash kernel.sin is to use FlashTool...
i am posting a Kernel only FTF which i had created for the test users... u flash only kernel.sin using that file on the Xperia Z...
http://icxperia.com/napstar/temp/z/10.1.A.1.350/XperiaZ_KernelOnly_Test.ftf
OR
http://d-h.st/tvF
if u want to change the kernel.sin just open the file in 7zip and replace the kernel.sin with the one u want and then flash the FTF using flashtool

[Q] Flashing recovery problem

Hi all,
I have following problem. I rooted my Xperia T and I also Unlocked my Bootlader. The next step I wanted to flash a recovery to be able flash new ROMs.
In the command prompt I put following:
C:\SDK\platform-tools>adb reboot bootlader
C:\SDK\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' <7650 KB>...
<bootloader> USB download speed was 16118kB/s
OKAY (0,511 s)
writing 'recovery'...
<bootloader> Flash of partition 'recovery' requested
FAILED <remote: Partition not found>
Finished. total time 0,534 s
It means, that it went wrong at the end? How can I solve this? Lets say: how can I flash modified recovery to be able to try new ROM's?
Many thanks for answer.
fipo
Sony phones doesn't have separate recovery partition. Its recovery is incorporated to the boot.img, which contains also the kernel.
Custom kernels normally comes with the recovery. You only need to "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
Tapatalked from my TX
just flash doomkernel using fastboot. (Extract the boot.img from the .zip)
then flash doomkernel again in recovery (The .zip) so you get the wifi modules installed
Thanks a lot for answers ... I am looking for the kernel you mentioned, and I've downloaded this one:
http://d-h.st/b8h
.. I unzipped the file, and nothing like boot.img found ...
What did I download? Will you post a link for me, please?
Thanks a lot ...
fipo
Apologies, it's called kernel.elf
Use fastboot flash boot kennel.elf

This thread saved my day :good:
@gregbradley: you rock !
@fipo: xperia SP does not have recovery partition. After you boot in twrp, you can use 'adb push' to copy the image of your choice (e.g. lineageos) to your device, and use 'install' from the twrp menu.
Hope it helps.

[Q] adb error -- can´t flash cmw recovery

Hello,
I just bought my Xperia Z and I am loving it. However, I have a little problem.
My phone is rooted, unlocked bootloader but I am trying to flash CWM recovery using ADB to flash custom ROMS but I cannot. I use ADB and I even type: fileboot devices to check that my phone is well recognized and it is just fine. ( I have USB debugging ticked).
I type: fastboot flash boot and then I drag and drop the file: Z_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_FW-434_v3 and it says:
sending ´boot´ (9892 kb)...
OKAY [0.620 s]
writing ´boot´...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.620s
Any ideas?
Try to flash doomkernel v06?it has both Cwm and twrp..

Thank you. I tried the kernel you suggested but it´s the same
Regarding the space, yes, I leave it and then drag and drop. This is frustating. I really want to try custom roms, undervolting, etc. Please any more suggestions?
Drag and drop? AFAIK ADB only works from the command line. You have to specify the file to flash.
"fastboot flash boot boot.img"
Thank you everyone. I finally did it. It turned out that I thought I had the bootloader unlocked but it was just POSSIBLE to unlocked. OH GOSH!!! I unlocked it and flash my CWM recovery without problems. Thanks again for your help! How can I change this to solved?
Are you using windows 8.
if so activate the unsigned driver installation..

Only custom ROM's seems I can use now, can't come back to stock. other recovery works but not the stock one. and if i open that Aroma launcher you've said to use then it reboots after 30% so that also seems not to be working. MaximusHD 12 runs cool. can it be HBOOT difference ? cuz its 1.55 and 1.54. 1.54 when I flash firmware and 1.55 if I flash MaximusHD12 .

Oh and the cable is new, the port on the phone does seem a bit wiggly but no shortage, data transfers real quick.

cdt.bin checks to see if carrier/region match.
guessing some how version on phone got corrupt, and now does not match flash version.
could try deleting cdt.bin with moto-fastboot.exe, but that could make it worse.

I got the 906 to flash successfully, I think. RSD said failed while flashing emmstorage (I think) and the phone said battery low. Good news is that it powers up correctly, it even charges while it's off.
Should I just leave it charging and re-do the flashing when it's done or is it okay like it is??
I turn it on and it has a notification saying "Blank Internal Storage"

Factory reset was already done. It popped up the set up screen when i powered it up.
I formatted the Internal. It seems to be working. I still might re-flash when charge is at 100%.

[X527] No wifi, no sim detection / Can't complete setup assistant [SOLVED]

Hello friends!
After i tried to find a way to bypass LeEco login on the install of stock based ROM , i have bricked my phone (not really bricked, but i will tell you). On the first boot i cant complete the setup, because X527 dont detect my sim cards and shows no wifi networks (So i cant go to developer options and can not use a dial code).
After i have read a lot, im sure it was a problem with the efs or nvram (The last working boot shows no serial and no bootloader). But now im on Stock ROM and Stock Recovery and need an option to repair efs/nvram over fastboot or stock recovery, without changing anything in the phone itself.
Hope you guys can help me...
i recommend you to install twrp and flash official stock rom it has stock recovery too so it will came back to original state. we have the original stock rom here so dont afraid to install twrp.

I think you are ****ed. Why oh why didn't you enable oem unlocking b4 flashing roms?
You can try
Fastboot erase modemst1
Fastboot erase modemst2
But it probably won't work cus your bootloader is locked
You can also try
Fastboot boot <insert name of your twrp img here>
But again doubt it'll work
---------- Post added at 08:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:29 PM ----------
Try googling for an alternative way to unlock your bootloader
---------- Post added at 08:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:31 PM ----------
Also if you can find a way to transfer files to your phone, try downloading eui 19s rom, edit the update script as needed(especially if you are downgrading), then send it to your phone /sdcard as update.zip and try to flash it through stock recovery.

Any luck on googling a way to enable oem unlocking without access to developer options?
Or you can treat your phone as if it was bricked. Try downloading the sparse or Qfil file (not sure which is used for unbricking) for your model. And flashing through flashone or Qfil. Google or search xda for steps on how to unbrick this particular phone or Qualcomm phones in general. I believe it involves a step where you hold vol+, vol- & power key.
Anyway goodluck.

I dont find a way to unlock the bootloader. Flashing the qfil i have already tried, but it doesnt repair the issue. I think efs or nvram is broken.

What version did you flash with Qfil? 19s usually doesn't ask for leeco login so try that. If you can bypass the leeco login I can walk you through the steps to repair your efs, I even have qcn files for x526 and x522 you can edit to fix it.
Don't know if these three options are possible, because I'm not sure what the qfil files contain but
1. with your current qfil if you can find a way to delete the letvaccount apk from the system image and reflash, that should bypass the login issues. Though dm verify might prevent the phone from booting past the splash screen, so you'll need to replace the kernel(boot) img with any custom one like illusion or overload
2. replace the system, data and kernel(boot) image with ones from miui 9 rom. This will flash miui instead and voila, no login issue
3. Replace Qfil recovery image with renamed twrp

Have you flashed this? If so did it remove the leeco login or at least make it skipable?
Send a pic of the login screen

I've seen the pics, the system file is in parts so replacing it is very very difficult as I cant be sure how it was split.
But good news, I noticed a file named recovery
So move that file somewhere else.
Then rename your twrp file to recovery and copy it to that folder.
Then try flashing it, if successful this should give you custom recovery and I can work with that

Good luck, also I noticed that your issue isn't leeco account login but rather Google's factory reset protection. So if this fails you can search for ways to bypass google factory reset protection.
