My haptic feedback randomly stops working and only works again when I restart it. I've check the power saving option and also the turned haptic feedback off and on and also check the vibration level of it but none of those gets it working. Another issue is the screen resolution randomly distorts and I have to restart to get that working again as well. Anyone know what's wrong or have similar issues?
factory reset, flash a stock rom
I already have a stock ROM plus would I be able to keep every single bit of data on my phone with an app like titanium backup?

Yes, with Titanium Backup you can save alle system and user app settings if you stay with the same Android version
Titanium Backup
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup
Make sure your using the latest Recovery and remember to Backup in the Recovery just in case.
I use TWRP:

Make sure you choose the right model just in case. Either i9305 or i9305T.

I want to root my galaxy tab but I don't feel comfortable doing that unless I can fully backup everything and be able to restore easily. Can you guys recommend something?

Titanium for backup.
Root using Z4Root..only one button to press and your tablet is rooted..
No Risk..it's ok

titanium only backs up apps, app data and system data. It does not backup the firmware, radio, etc.
so if something is screwed up by rooting, or flashing a different firmware, it cannot do "full recover" if that is what you mean with it; it only recovers apps and system settings.
for a "full backup / restore" solution check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850359
i agree with the post in regards to Z4Root, worked easily and flawlessly though

I did use z4root and it worked fine. Scared me when my wifi connection was lost, but a quick turn off/on it worked again.
Yes I do mean a FULL backup of everything, not just apps

Maybe I'm retarded but how do I enter the code? I don't see a way to do it. My galaxy tab is sprint network enabled but not activated, wifi only.

The code is entered on the dialer part of the contacts app... Commonly known as the dialer with buttons from 0 to 9 with the additional * and # characters... Surely you must have seen such a contraption on previous phones...
If you can't use the dialer then get a SIM card in it....
Yup, there is no dialer on this phone. Downloaded aDialer and it says cannot make or take calls on the galaxy tab. Wtf?
Sent from my SPH-P100 using XDA App
Another weird thing, there is no sim card menu in the settings menu..

If I had to choose one I would pick the titanium back up. In my opinion the best there is right now.

Thanks for recommending TB, luckily I backed up before I bricked my sprint galaxy tablet. Was able to flash with Odin using Zoinks Sprint SPH-P100 pit and tar. Got my tab to boot and easily restore all apps and user data.

This really sounds stupid even to me. But how do I restore?
I installed Titanium a while back and now would like to reset to factory. Obviously there is a restore button in Titanium which I can use to restore individual apps but how do you batch restore.
The other even more stupic question is how do I restore if by resetting to factory Titanium is wiped as well? Do I now have to re-download titanium and expect it to find the backup data on the SD card which I hope will stay intact during factory reset or do I remove the card during factory restore and still expect the re-downloaded titanium to pickup the backed up data?
Hi mutant.,With my knowledge and experience over my gtab I can say that factory reset or wiping data would be only the Rom portion of your internal sd.so u can save your data in SD. Still to be much safer save it in external SD.once flashed again with new Rom. install titanium and restore all your data and apps.you can do batch restore with titanium pro.for double safety I backup everything on ext SD and also in CWM before flashing new Rom. Hope this helps.I'm also a learner for now..hence thought this would help you from learner prespective.dev's and exp's can correct me if I'm wrong..

Backup is stored on sd card in titanium backup folder (internal or external youcan choose that). Redownload titanium backup if wiped after rom installation and restore. Press menu button in titanium backup there is a batch option. TIP: Edit filters in titanium backup to show backed up applications only (or user apps) and then use the batch feature so u dont have to search through all apps.
Thanks guys, very useful tips!

Could your SGT be a P1010? cause AFAIK it does not have a calling feature and I don't think executing the number is the only way to reset your phone, CMIIW.
Is there a way to back up your current or original rom before you flash another rom?
I'm running Slim 3.2 completely stock. Whenever i receive a call the touch screen is completely unresponsive. I have to power off/on the screen to get it to work. I didn't see anything in the development thread and i googled it. Any help would be appreciated.

Apart from a full wipe format /system and reflash I don't know what else it could be.
That's what i was thinking, i was just hoping to avoid that. These things always seem to happen when you get your phone set up perfectly.

tibu backup, and nandroid backup

restore apps in tibu

Open it. Go to the backup/restore tab, click on the app you'd like to backup, press backup. Done.
Restoring is the same, but press restore.

But since ICS TB wont recognise my backups after flashing a new rom..
I've heard of this happening a few times before, is it a tb problem? Restoring programs after a rom flash is the whole point of titanium lol
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
There are some compatibility issues across the ROMs, e.g. from GB backup to ICS restore. You can tick Migrate system data in TB preference. Maybe that helps. Of course you also have to be selective on choosing which apps to restore and NOT to be restored in the new ROM. So far I have no problem from different GB roms and now ICS roms.
I also successfully restored my apps when I updated to ICS. Just pay attention to which apps you restore. It might be a bead idea to restore system apps after an update.
Clear data of titanium from - setting - application - titanium
Check you dont have change backup folder name.
After looking into trying a custom rom for my rooted thrill I decided to try out CyanogenMod 7.2.0 just to test the waters because it was my first time flashing a rom on my thrill. I had some issues but was finally able to flash CyanogenMod rom on my thrill. I liked it a lot and it seemed to be working fine but it was plugged into the charger cause it was late at night. The next morning I unplugged it and went to work... Normally my stock thrill will last me my whole shift which is 8 hours plus travel time. By the time I get off of work my phone still in the green. Anyway by around first brake I noticed the battery was half gone this was in only three in a half hours by 4 hours it was in the red pretty much dead... Any ideas or suggestions? Btw I am back to stock gb but still was to try a custom rom and I really liked CyanogenMod 7.2.0

Try using the latest nightly. It seemed a lot better with battery drain. Also once you've flashed the nightly, charge to 100%, go to recovery and under advanced menu, wipe battery stats. Let the phone run till it dies and see if that helps.

I'm kinda afraid to retry and flash another rom on my phone...The first time I did it and tried to recover my stock rom I backed up it said it wasn't there or it did not exist. So I had to reinstall the original att gb rom and lost everything. Do I have to make a new backup of my rom every time I flash?
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
No, but you will want to store it on your external SD card or transfer your stock backup to the PC to be safe. When you wipe before flashing you may wipe the area your backups are contained. Once you have them in a safe place you can flash without worry. If anything happens you can mount your SD card through recovery and transfer a backup then restore it. Get comfortable with making backups before flashing and what to do when a problem does occur. Panic can lead to bad mistakes.

Yeah that's exactly what I did and now I am flashing at a more comfortable level. And I did find my original backup and was able to flash my thrill back to where I had it. For some reason it won't show up in recovery mode, the only way I was able to flash it was through cwm. Now I'm running promethius Project Rom v1.5 with no idea kernel. I have flashed other kernels also. I want to flash another rom but hate setting everything up again lol like home screens, launchers, widgets, and reinstalling all my apps I have on my sd card.

Check out titanium backup and ROM toolbox Pro (its worth paying for). Those two apps will get your old apps restored and restore the data (titanium backup) and give you all the tools you may need to tweak your ROM and customise it. ROM toolbox has root browser, ROM manager, CPU control, scripter and tons of others in one app. With those two apps you can have everything back how it was (besides home screens, which some launchers do allow you to make a backup) and anything else you need to get it running how you like.

I have titanium backup pro and the launcher I like using does have a backup feature. Although I think I might stick with promethius because it seems like it has the least issues.

I have a rooted HTC One with:
Android Revolution HD 20.2 by mike1986
Version 4.3
HTC Sense 5.0
Kernel: 3.4.10-geee1312
Build #: 3.09.401.1
I resolved my issue with not being able to backup. I found the legacy folder. I've since reflashed my ROM.
However, now my "restore" is stuck at 0%. It's been like this for 10 minutes. Whats going on?
NEW ISSUE: Now I can't restore. I've fixed my backup and reflashed my ROM. Now my apps won't restore back... Please help!
Same issues. Have no resolution from developer. Hate the app and it's support and don't use it anymore. Anytime I restored settings it soft bricked my phone. I use Helium now and certainly won't recommend TiBu. Glad I had 3 backups with 3 apps and put them all to the test.

Did you guys backupped also the system app?
If yes it's this the problem.
Titanium working fine here, never had an issue
Backed up everything in batch. Restored using ever possible combination of the app and data or just getting a new app and restoring data. Soft brick every time by trying to get back anything attempted. My 2 other apps restored perfectly every single time. Developer ignored me-certainly won't recommend.

It's normal if you're trying to restore a system app.
And the batch will backup all...
Is this the prob
It's advised to backup and restore only the data of the system app

Yes, did just the data on the restore as well as app+data - had the same results with restoring apps that weren't system related as well. Just a pain that I don't have to deal with, with other backup applications. TiBu has just not been great for me at all.
