can the internal sdcard with the Data partion merge so that the data has 8GB instead of 4GB?
I do not know if that is so you can then make the ExtSdCard to internal sdcard??
If it could be done I think someone would have posted the guide already.

So mean my 2 partition can not merge with android devices??
I have plenty of apps and data stored in the system partition. But it would not be wise to use it all up as system uses that free space for caches and processing. Filling it up would make apps run slow.

I would really like to have if the data partitions get 4GB instead of 8GB, it would be so I was wondering if you can not lead the two partitions get together

Any one know how to increase internal storage? As iwanted to keep all the apps in internal storage instead of sdcard .
Advise against it. Set by default for system apps. Unless you flash custom rom. Best solution transfer apps to ext sd card

I don't think messing around with the partition is a good idea. But if you are a pro, that's what Android is for.

Well, yes and no. You have x GB of internal storage. That will never change. The deal is that you can only use a set amount of that x GB for apps and data. Without going into that much detail, though, a majority of that x GB is partitioned like this:
/system – x GB
/data – x GB
/cache – x MB/GB
/data is the only partition you can actually use for apps and data. So, to answer your question, you can make that /data partition larger. This requires root, though, as you suspected.
Resizing the partitions is much more advanced, though, and is not as simple as just installing an app. Whether you have a custom or stock ROM, make sure you leave yourself enough space where it needs to be.
So can I custom partitions my phone u may ask. At the moment it does not seem to be any tools or mod for doing this on N7000. But u can google "custom mtd partitions android" (or galaxy note).
But its not something I recommend but if u feel comfortable for doing this (if u find any ways to custom partitions) despite all the warnings that may appear on the guide, you can just go ahead and custom partition

Thanks for all the feedback =]
This is what I am currently doing: I made a 1GB ext4 partition, and i link all my apps to that using Link2SD.
This is working and i maintain about 100MB free on my internal memory. I have seen some other screenshots of ACE users, that somehow trick their phones to thinking that the Sd partition is the internal memory and everythign will automatically install there, and in system storage it reports the total space as that of the partition and not the ~100 MB.
how can i do this? what apps do I need

that looks confusing as hell. and he doesnt even use an ace. before i try it and may ruin something, has anyone tried this with an ace
Lol. What u describe there is what the amarullz script doing, swapping internal memory with sdcard and made phone think sdcard is the phone memory for app data.

looking at his picture, it seems like he will be saving more files on the internal memory as opposed to what im doing now where everything is on SD. is that not counter intuitive

yes, but the creator said it will improve overall performance.
the more you install app = more dalvik cache
and one day, your internal memory become full.....of dalvik cache
so is there a way to still have everything on the SD card, but also have the phone think that the 1GB partition is the internal memory
Despite the urge to post this in Development just to wind people up, i actually need some advice/help so i'll follow the rules ..
Link2sd says that it can free up internal memory, and fair enough; it does. But i was wondering if there is ANY way at all to move the remaining data (located in /data/data) also. I only ask because even with all my apps on the second partition, i only have 49mb free because of the data from my installed apps.

The most "store all you can on SD" alternative is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124&page=69 lNT2EXT
You need to make a second partition on you SD.
To safe your phone memmory use Link2SD to moving apps to second partition of your sd card. Format your sdcard to two partitions: the 1st must be in FAT16/32 (depending on capacity of your sdcard) and the 2nd partition must be in ext2/3/4(i prefferd ext3 min capacity is 128MB max is 1GB=1024MB). And when you boot link2sd the first time you must select how is your 2nd partition of your sdcard to make a special script to automounting this aprtition and possible to moving apps and games to 2nd partition. To moving apps and games to 2nd parition you must select your app for exapmle ninja fruit or mxplayer and select link2d and the app from phone memmory is linked to your 2nd partition of your sdcard. To explore your 2nd partition better you use RootExplorer and is in /data/sdext2/. AND REMMEMBER TO USE LINK2SD YOU MUST HAVE INSTALLED ROOT WITH BUSYBOX!! I hope it'll help you. Sorry for my bad english
wipe cache THEN make backup. profit!
YMMV depends on how many apps you have installed. universal; no reason this wouldn't save space on any given other phone.
Honestly brilliant. Lol
no need to use precious space when your phone will generate the data in a minute :cyclops:

Yea, but you still lose app cache data so you may have to redo certain things
I have a 64gb SD, so space isn't an issue. I rather have the extra 150mb taken up and have my system restored exactly to the point it was backed up as

incorrect
/cache doesn't store any settings / preferences / saves. that's all done in /data and /sdcard

That is a seriously helpful tip. I have a 32 GB card and I only have 8 GB left from all the NANDROID backups and ROMs.
Learn something everyday. Thanks!
I don't have an external sdcard. My phone has a lot of
internal memory free. How can I move my apps to
internal memory? Is that possible? BTW, I am using the
latest carbon 4.4.4 r2 build (i9070). Because our phone has only 2gb of application(phone) memory.

Yes, but one game is around 50MB maybe (APK), you do not have 40 games?. Its data uses internal memory (that 4GB). Maybe that memory is full, not that 2GB.

I am using SGSA I9070 16gb variant. Application memory is 2gb. I have got more than 5gb of internal memory free. Hence i am not using an external sdcard. My application memory is 75% full. So I am asking about moving my apps or part of them to internal memory.
Sorry! Moving apps to external sdcard is not an option for me, as i don't have an external sdcard. So please don't point me towards instructions about moving apps to external sdcard.

In 4.4 janice/codina ROMs, there's the flag dalvik.vm.dexopt-data-only=1 as default in build.prop (yeah it's named dalvik but doesn't matter what runtime are you using). This means that data partition contains user apps' classes.dex+system apps' (including gapps, more complete gapps package=heavier=more space occupied+more dalvik cache) classes.dex, where as default is data partition=user apps' classes.dex/cache partition=system apps' classes.dex
For example:
40~50 (maybe more) apps installed (including their classes.dex) 1.8~1.9 GB
25 apps installed+that flag in build.prop = out of memory
Just in case: classes.dex = ART/dalvik cache-executable
