I flashed the latest CM10.1 nightly and am having trouble making phone calls and VOIP calls. Calls using the phone app do not permit me to hear who I'm calling, nor can they hear me. And the Skype test call says that there is something wrong with my audio recording settings. I searched, but did not find anyone in this forum with this issue.
Any advice would be appreciated. And before anyone asks, clean install of nightly. I also updated the radio to UVMA1, but this issue was present prior to flashing the new radio.
**Edit: 01-Mar-2013**
Forget it. Cleared the cache and data stored in Phone app, updated to 01-Mar CM10.1 nightly and all is well.

When I do/receive calls I need to put phone in loud speaker mode to listen.
The other side of the call can hear me and also hears himself (not a real eco its like the speaker and mic are connected).
Tryed to flash Nova 8 Rom, CM7 Nightly v11 and v20... and also stock rom...
Everything defaulted...
Everything reseted...
Happened after using CSipSimple app (Voip Calls) and after i tried to change Sound Routing (or something similar...)
Any tips?
I'm tired of looking on the web (over 5h today...)
Thank you
Update:
There is no eco now (dunno what I did to fix it...).
Also tested with handset (cable phones) and it works fine...
Could it be hardware?
I hope it is software and it has a fix...
Help
The audio are the main problem for CM, and haven't any solution yet, or perhaps you can try my build (look at my signature). If your problem still persist, I can't handle that, since our CM P970 is still working in progress, the source is not completed yet, as we can say perhaps it still 50%.

You also already 'downgrade' to Stock ROM and still having the problem. It might be the hardware. But, referring your CSipSimple app, perhaps that's the problem. What if you're not using it, is it normal?

Thank you for your reply
I went back to Stock Rom (Vodafone Portugal V10a), everything fully reset (even unrooted, at least I do not have root access), no programs installed (other than the OEM ones) and the problem is still here...
I'm thinking on giving it back to Waranty, do you think it is still viable?
I flashed stock rom using LG Support Recovery Tool (100% oficial as you know).
Thank you again!
First i want to thank hashcode and everyone who has helped him for the Great ICS build =] I realized that most the posts in the ICS development thread were becoming troubleshooting to basic problems [some by me ], so i decided to make this thread to help others.
Before you post with a problem make sure you have wiped /data/cache/dalvik and done a full factory reset. Also tried installing again. Please also state if you restored your google settings. This will help speed up the process in helping you.
Below are a list of fixes for bugs that have yet to fixed in an updated release, if there are more fixes please tell me and ill add them here. Have fun ;]
Input Selection Keyboard Fix by Androidsims
Go to /system/app and delete OpenWnn.apk and PinyinIME.apk and the chinese and japanese input methods will be gone. Along with the icon in the top. If you have another keyboard installed [such as swype] the icon will still show.
Apps are a bit laggy
use Rom Toolbox to set your VM heap size to 88m. I cant remember where but it was said that this is best to achieve a smoother experience with ICS.
Watch Videos on ICS
use the latest vlc for android. Have to click on videos via root explorer or another file manager app. Opening app directly just causes a force close.

I also ran into my audio disappearing when a call was connected. I went back into safestrap recovery, repeated the wipe data, wipe cache, wipe delvik without having to reinstall ICS and audio was back. Anytime things start getting buggy this is usually my first step before reinstalling.

not sure if it is just me but in alph 1 and 2 i get alot of static when i make or receive any calls thru bluetooth.
i've wiped everything even tried re-installing a couple times and even tried a different bluetooth headset. no matter what i wipe/reset/re-install it all ends up the same result. with static on all calls both ways. i hear static and so does the caller.

I combed the ics forum and found issues similar to this but they were solved with methods mentioned above. The fact that you tried all this already makes me feel the problem is unique to u. Try booting into nonsafe and see if you have the issue then. Sorry for the late reply btw

Better that no reply thanx for the help. But I have installed multiple different roms so far and they all work fine, and last time I was in non-safe mode it worked fine but im not sure if at the time ics was installed on my safe system(not sure if that matters or if that is what you were implying or not). So on BT you can make calls and receive calls with no issues? Mine is kinda weird, when I make a call the static is speratic, when I dial out every time it rings there is static and then I can hear the ring (constantly), when in a conversion every couple of words of the caller is static as well.

Not me. If you scan drom page and past in the ics thread someone was talkin about that issue. I can't remember the exact page and I'm on my phone but look in those sections. There issue was different however but I believe it was still solved with a wipe. I think they wiped the delvik too. But I've read all the posts in the that thread though, I don't think there was anything about static. I reccommend you go ask in there because hash can probably help best.

Awesome, thanks for the input/help guys..
Loving ICS so far, thanks a lot!
My biggest complaint (maybe user error):
Pandora isn't playing audio over my car speakers via Microsoft SYNC. I get successful connection with my car, but I just can't get it to play through the speakers.
Haven't had a chance to test out other media apps.
Does it use cable, 3g, or bluetooth to hook up to the speakers? and to the person before, i havent seen a solution at all with the bluetooth, i think it something Hash will have to fix
Sorry forgot to specify. This is via Bluetooth.
I haven't tried USB or 3.5mm connections yet. I don't keep them in the car since I haven't needed them before.
Edit: I should also mention that audio does play through the phone's speaker. So even though it's connected to BT I'm still only getting sound from the phone's speaker.
Ah thats what i was thinking. I think these bluetooth issues need to be brought to Hash attention as its more than one person experiencing problems with it. And its seems to be solely with bluetooth. You shuld report a bug with it to him in his tracker here
http://www.hash-of-codes.com/tracker
As for help i can tell you to make sure you also wipe your dalvik. I have forgot to mention that to people. Instructions from hash ;] Other than that because im no hashcode i really cant code anything to fix the bluetooth. Report it thought and hash might be able to fix it in Alpha 3
Thanks. Yeah I've been looking for a place to provide feedback and just ended up here.
How do I wipe dalvik? I've seen that mentioned every where along with cache data, but I got list on dalvik.
Boot into safestrap, go down to advanced and click that, and then you should see it. its the second or third option i believe
I must have looked over it. Thanks, I'll check it out.
On another note, 3.5mm plug in works fine in the car. Also, I connected via Bluetooth again and tested out calling. Hands free calling seems to work fine with SYNC.
If hands free calling is working clear then it might be an app error. Is this error with your nonsafe rom? If not then I'm thinking their are still some compatibility issues between apps. I'm going to email both app developers and see if they still have bugs with ics or know anything.
Edit: I reread the thread again. Also look into your settings. The fact that the phone isn't even trying to send the audio over bluetooth is sounding like it doesn't know it has to. Make sure all the settings for both apps are correct and that this function is availible for this. I'm going to do a little research before I email the devs for help and ill tell you what I find
I still have safe boot enabled.
I forgot I was going to try out Amazon Cloud Player. I'll test that tonight yet. I also have to test Pandora since wiping dalvik. Not sure how much of a difference it would make.
I did double check the settings both times I've tried it. I don't think I've looked over anything. So maybe there are compatibility issues with the Pandora app. Cloud Player may be a good test to that.
Amazon Cloud Player does the same.
Turns out SYNC doesn't see my contacts. I have to use the phone to pick a contact but the dial tone plays over the car speakers. I'm thinking it is a Bluetooth issue related to this alpha #2 build.
Wondering if I'm the only fella with this problem:
I recently flashed CM 10 (nightly build 2013-07-21) using TWRP (I'd originally used CWM, but it corrupted my internal SD card so I wiped everything and switched and that solved the problem). I'm s-on, so I manually flashed the kernal, went into TWRP, flashed the ROM, everything's hunky-dory. Used gapps-jb-20130301 (which is the most recent version), upgraded Talk to Hangout, everything's working fine.
Except I can't seem to get a dang video Hangout to work. Every time I try I get an error saying the network connection has timed out--and I'm on an AT&T Vivid, so no using the mobile network for me to see if it's just a wifi problem. I get kind of lousy signal here at my house, so I tried it at the office and at a friend's place, and got the same result.
So two questions:
1. Am I the only unfortunate sod having this problem?
2. Is there any way to fix it?
I really, really like CM 10 (it is seriously a revelation--this was my first foray into flashing my phone, and it's gone incredibly well--dang near a religious experience after the long dark of Sense), and it's currently stable and functional enough that I'd like to keep it if possible. Is this just Hangouts being weird, the Vivid being weird (from what I can tell that's a pretty common occurrence), or what?
Any help is appreciated.
If you are on CM 10 and not 10.1 and you are using those gapps, those gapps are for 4.2.2 and not 4.1.2.. and I'm pretty sure it is 20121011 or something like that if you need 4.1.2

Sorry, I meant to say I'm using CM 10.1. I've installed the wrong gapps before and that just made everything crash all the time, forever (the keyboard in particular). Everything seems to work except for video calls on Hangouts.

I have the exact same problem now. Everything works perfect except every time when I tried to start the video/voice call on Hangout it timeout/crash. Really hope this to be fixed.
Hell-oh all.
I've been using CM 12 for about 2 months now and something seems to be a constant issue, apart from the in-call UI of course. I seem to be having a bad case of low mobile data. I am getting data, that's not the issue. It seems to be very slow. I have an unlimited data plan and so its definitely not because of me running out of data. Another probable cause could be the geographical location but that's not the case since, I tried using my data connection at multiple place where signal used to be excellent before I went from Stock to CM.
Its also not just my data, my calls also "crack" during a conversation. My only deduction could be that its something related to CM12. Is anyone else facing this issue?

Uhh. Ok. Thanks for the help. Which ROM do you use?
I don't face the issues with the latest CM12 nightly, maybe a clean flash would help.
Call Quality/Data Speeds are just fine.
I have had these issues and the first release of cm12 still having problems. Your the first other person to have the same problem.

With the new 21-02-2015 NIGHTLY everything now seems fine, data is back up, so is the calls. The best thing is that Call Bug is fixed!! Yay!
Title says it all. This is a fresh, "stock" install of Cataclysm 6.0r1 on an XT1103 with no tweaks or kernel replacements or anything else. Skype works great but the receive audio stutters any time Skype is not running as the foreground app (transmit audio remains unaffected). Locking the phone makes no difference. Speaker vs Bluetooth makes no difference. Any ideas?
(posted here because my account is too new to post on the Cataclysm dev thread).
Same issue with a oneplus one and Cyanogenmod 13.
Did you found a solution yet?
The problem is still here, but is related to gapps on Marshmallow.
Oneplus One running sultanxda's cm13, tried reflashing without gapps and the problem disappeared but I need them so I think I'll wait for Android N so the problem will be fixed then I guess.
