TV out it's nothing you can really do so they just created an app for it but they all have it...

Technically, all the ics builds are AOSP based (Android Open Source Project). The AOKP builds and CM builds are all built from aosp with their own goodies.

ICS from source code?

I'm a new owner of the galaxy note N7000 and I was wondering if any dev or other member has made an attempt at building an ics rom from the Google ics source code for this device. I have seen and am currently trying one of the leaked versions available but none from the source code?

I think if it would be easy it would have been made long ago.
But drivers and libraries are closed source by Samsung. And without them it can't work in a satisfying way.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

I thought Samsung was open source or is that HTC *scratches head*

AOSP (Android Open Source Project) isn't a problem. The problem is the properatary Samsung drivers. We need those, but we won't get them until Samsung releases the official ICS update.

Now that an official ics has been released in Germany, would building from aosp be possible?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Am I wrong in understanding that CM9 is meant to stay as faithful to AOSP as possible? (granted, there are a few improvements beyond hardware support)

CM9 Experimental builds are already being built from sources.

Will releases be split again?

Hello
I am considering getting this phone. Just wondering why the Xperia Cyanogenmod team do not just contribute to the source code and then user just get updates through normal process like nightlies etc.
I personally never did like releases from CM and on XDA directly from the developer's when I had a Neo. I note that it allowed some stable releases to go through and then a weekly version released not long after with big bug fixes. It was frustrating.
Would it not be easy to have one simple way?
Please note I'm trying not to be critical just wondering. Thanks for your hard work.

That's exactly the way its working. Code is being pushed to cm and when its stable enough it will get nightlies.

I'm confused. What do you mean?
I know code will get pushed to CM. I am just wondering if weeklies will still happen, (I hope not), once the first Official nightly has happened.
It was confusing when there would be CM releases and releases on the forum. Instead of a single release.

List of Roms and respective maintainer

Hello dear P880 users,
The list linked in this post, is a list of all compiled roms for our LG Optimus 4X - AKA P880 and their respective maintainers.
This list only has roms which were compiled (original development).
----
The document has the following information:
Branch (4.3, 4.4, etc..)
Rom Name
Development Status
Release Version
Last Updated
Maintainer username
Base
And the URL to the XDA post.
-----
The suggestion of compiling such list came from laufersteppenwolf, so buckets of flowers and chocolate boxes should go to him
Suggestions and whatever are welcome. Enjoy

Because, as said in OP, only original developed roms are showed there, while Zaiben or Enox are basically stock LG with other features, ported or implemented by their mantainers

I think it'd be nice to add this as well, maybe in another tab/sheet, @MidnightDevil ?
BTW, I don't really like flowers that much, I do love chocolate, though

Yup, I'll add those as well, since we will be including wips and wishlists too I think they deserve their place for sure

Hi there,
Thx to @MidnightDevil, this thread is a good idea.
As am not involved as a dev, only reader and user (noob and try to learn) of the provided roms, i just have a question concerning PAC-Man, Carbon and Illusion ROMs:
Fluoxetine dissapeared of XDA and all his threads are actually closed, is he still maintaining those ROMs, or MULTIROM for Kitkat?
Well, his threads now state he is no longer able to maintain the roms.
Latest Omni update is 03/08. Also, you could add FlymeOS to wishlist, that really is a great rom.

Will do, I'll update the list tonight
@fozland, weren't the threads re-opened and he's back? Or I misunderstood it?

I've just checked, they are still all closed
Ohh man you made my dream come true! Ive been thinking about a thread like this for a loooooong time ago, BUT i dont really have time for a project like that alongside of my studies and other hobbies. Thanks so much! :good:
BTW, guys, anyone interested in TheROM (from p990) ? It is 4.3, though
It is closed source, but Tony granted me access to his sources. However, I had no time yet to work on it, as I have my final exams coming up, and I have too less spare time for tetsing...

oh yeeesss the jelly bean roms where so good on the 2x, i would love to see the penguins attack the 4x
The most confusing thing I find is blobs and patches, for things like video recording, screen recording, MHL etc. How about a column to say what blobs and patches are used, and whether EPRJ RIL is implemented?

@MidnightDevil,
Just find out that our device is "officially" maintained by the PAC Man team, updates can now be found in the download tab from:
http://www.pac-rom.com/#Home
I've checked on team carbon website (https://carbon-rom.com/) but unfortunately our device is not supported.
I also noticed that u can update beanstalk as the last built is was issued the 8th of March in 3 versions:
- CM based ROM
- P880-dev (grouper blobs)
- P880-dev (old blobs)
Hope that will help U to update your file
I'll update it during today.
Cheers
