By searching. We already have it solved. Check Chucky ROM in general forum for our phone. There is flashable zip for that.

No,you need root because it goes to system folder. And custom recovery (CWM, TWRP). But you can do it withoutc CWM or TWRP by overwriting file. Unzip it, and you will see where to put.

What does this memory fix exactly do?

It swaps internal storage, to become external. And external to become internal.

Isn't that kind of risky? Since there many apps that need to be on the internal memory for correct running.

I have never used it. And its not changing storage where app are instaled. It swaps that 3.9 GB partition with your external SD. This is if that space isn't enough for you.

No,it's for jellybean.but you can edit vold.fstab in system/ets by yourself.change sdcard by external_sd.

No it's not risky, they will be on "internal" sd card. That fix just swaps internal and external, it's not important where the apps are placed.

You need to root your phone. Then install some explorer with toot permissions (like Root explorer lite, Solid Explorer etc...) Then find file vold.fstab in root, in system/etc folder. And change it content like in that blue/red text few posts before.

thx for info Sob.. that why I got bootloop when trying this script on EmanoN
@All, check you partition carefully, EXT3 or EXT4, then edit the script like Denkext say
Btw, I got something weird in the script, check this line :
" #-- Unmount /sd-ext if it already mounted
busybox umount /sd-ext; "
it should write "unmount" not "umount". correct me if I was wrong.
And can someone edit this script to make it auto detect sd-ext partition ? please PM me

Link2sd works on ext3 and ext4 partitions. On first start you have to chose your partition. It will install an script. Now you have to reboot and can move your staff to the ext partition.

2se vs. Darktremor
Darktremor still is the best for me, works on every rom i tryed and
on every device i have tryed it without any problems!! i have around
40apps installed and my memory look like this ;-))
finally found a way to make s2e work properly..just mount(from settings menu) the sd card before powering off the device(take the card out)..then turn it back on(dont insert sd card)..after the device starts insert the sd and reboot..and it works perfectly..this prob only occurs whem i switch off not reboot..
but got to do this every time i turn of the mini..lol

For me i dont install 3rd party software just use simple script like
Code:
adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2.
and ur android will now install apps to the SD card by default.
To switch back to storing software on the internal memory,
Code:
adb shell pm setInstallLocation 0.
more simple = only my opinion, use it for my SGAi

Hey, k****ij try link2sd.I am using it since 6 months with over 150 apps installed. No issues so far.It also has a interface so that u can easily manage ur apps and decide which apps u want to move to the SD card.Besides this u can also use Widgets of the apps moved to the SD card and can move launchers to SD card without breaking them(default android behavior) because it moves the apps to the second partition.
Last but not least,U can run ur apps/games so moved even after mounting SD card to PC.
same with my manual method

EXT4All to S5830i?

Fist sorry to open a new tread here, but i can't reply on the developer tread (I don't have enought post)
After upgrading from AceCream 1.3 to AceCream 1.4 I started to get "internal phone storage is getting low"...so I'm looking for solutions.
Interesting there is a mod that looks like a charm: EXT4ALL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623038 but before try it unmodified I have some questions:
1. Will [email protected]'s kernel run it? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818830
2. How do i migrate mi apps and data from link2sd?
Any ideas are welcome.
I've tried it on my S5830i but it didnt work, I did get it to work on S5830 though.
If it works the apps will automatically move to your sd-ext (therefore your first boot after applying it might take some time).
When I did it my screen got stuck on the rafael splash screen, didn't even reach the bootanimation...
Why don't you use the Link2SD app? I have more then 60 apps without having low memory.

FIRST MAKE A BACK-UP FROM ALL YOUR FILES ON YOUR SD CARD (and save it to your computer).
Place View attachment root.zip and View attachment GT-S5830i_CWM.zip on your SD card (after downloading).
1 Turn off your phone.
2 Press Volume up+Home+Power buttons for 6 seconds.
NOTE: Scroll down with volume down button, scroll up with volume up button, and select with home button.
3 Select apply update from SD.
You have root, don't you?
If not:
Select root.zip.
Go to step 4
4 Select GT-S5830i_CWM.zip.
5 Select yes.
6 Go to Advanced.
7 Select Partition SD card.
8 Select Ext size = 1 GB or 1024 MB (if you have a small SD card such as 2 GB or less (lol), I recommend 0.5 GB or 512 MB).
9 Select Swap size = 32 MB (for large SD cards such as 8 GB or more I recommend 64 MB or 128 MB).
10 Select Yes (I don't know it exactly).
11 Reboot your phone and try it again.
12 Select ext2 when asking for mount script.
13 Click thanks.
14 Close XDA-developers.
15 Go do something you like.

First delete a few unneeded apps.
In Link2SD, click menu, click on storage info, take a screenshot (home+power) and post it here.

I am also using a stock ROM and it works.
Seeing the screenshot, you should be able to install or link apps. Do you have very large apps (20>MB)?

link2sd recognizes only ext2 format sd-ext partition on stock rom/kernel but it works flawlessly. Try moving selected apps to sd card instead of linking them. You can also delete some unwanted apps from your /system partition to free internal space. Refer to a respective sticky thread by shankay about which apps to delete in 5830i development section

[SCRIPT][AROMA] AROMA Dual Install [FOR SLIM ROMs]

AROMA Dual Install ScriptHey! How are you, pals! Here I'm going to show you my work that allow you to quickly install other ROMs when booting (usually needed by using nightly ROMs) but you can say this pre-DUAL BOOT! But this is Alpha version, the features can't be used yet because I don't know how to mount SD Card on script (AROMA). So, currently I made the script flash zip from /system
HOW TO USE:
Put your SLIM second rom zip to /system and rename it to rom2.zip
Try to boot into 2nd rom - system will crash when the zip format /system, so delete format command

FEATURES:
Boot to First ROM

I do some changes, still not booting through.
Cannot boot from a zip file , need to create a directory in sd and symlink it
Sent from my GT-5660 using xda-developers app
Still not booting even by symlinking it.
The issue is about mounting sd card on boot... any scripts can we do in this script?

no, I didn't insert the rom into /system, but /sdcard
Yeah, just install
Also not working after doing mount commands
Code:
if prop("demo.prop","selected")=="2" then
exec("/system/xbin/mount","-o,rw,remount","/sdcard");
exec("/system/etc/aroma/aroma","1","0","/sdcard/rom2.zip");
endif;
Maybe slim cm7 roms might work
As their system space is around 60mb so that we should be able to dual boot but also for some clues and hint check out the root log out or something like that app it divides the Tom into different users exactly like windows and data for each is separate

So, first rom is in /system and second rom is in /sdcard ?
If my sd card is class 4 so that's mean the rom will lag like a hell???
