And you are the first person I have heard of saying this, so if it scratched the glass I am sure it would have scratched the protector as well.

Yesterday I was out and about and had my phone in my pocket, when I pulled it out to check my email, I saw that I had a faint scratch on the screen. My question is how can I remove this scratch without destroying my touchscreen. Is there any solutions out there compatible with the super AMOLED screen???????

The screen is glass - so tricks that work on plastic screens won't work on glass. The AMOLED is below the glass. You need a polish made for glass - best bet is to talk to an optician or glass company.

A screen protector won't help if there is already a scratch. It may prevent more, but that first one will always be there...mocking him...lol

????????
The scratch is in the glass. The touchscreen is bonded to the glass. There is no plastic to scratch or repair.

Oh I see. Well thanks for that solution. I guess I'll just order one of those SGP screen protectors and see if that hides it a little.
Wow that sucks. I carry my bare phone in my pocket with keys and crap but ALWAYS have a thick screen protector. My case is pretty scuffed up but the screen is protected. I hate cases but I hate screen scratches even more.

This. It pissed me off to no end to discover scratches on my plastic camera lens. Two years of iPhones with scratch resistant glass camera lenses and now another scratch-magnet plastic one. I feel like I've gone back in time to my Tilt all over again.
I had a small screen protector on the camera lens, but it was reducing the optical clarity quite significantly. Have you discovered a brand that retains the right clarity to have on the camera lens?

Actually, I have "fixed" scratches on iPhones in the past by putting a screen protector on it.
Did it remove or actually fix the scratch - no. Did it dramatically reduce the appearance of the scratch - yes.
The existence of the scratch bothers much less if I cannot see it.
I just bought a used Captivate to play and it has a couple scratches on the screen. I plan to go get a screen protector/skin and see if it helps.

Xperia T - Out of stock

To the proud owners of Xperia T, does the phone come with a factory installed screen protector...
Your reply will help me to save the cost of ordering an additional screen protector...
yes it does
Yes, and the first thing I do is rip it off and don't bother with any, I find screen protectors attract dust and get to easily scratched whilst the main screen is very robust and doesn't get scratched at all....I have done this with all my xperia devices.

LOL...i do exactly the opposite....I use a screen protector but I dont like to put any case on it, as it spoils the aethetics. And to why I use screen protector is, because a scratch on the screen will keep bothering me, even though it wouldnt affect the usage...
BTW, factory installed screen protector from sony are quite good imo.
Thanks Greg and Asterix...

Question about removing Xperia Z's anti-shatter film

Hi guys, just curious about this, I would like to remove the front screen protector of Xperia Z to get rid of the Sony logo (not hate it put prefer the front to be all black). Would this affect the phone's water resistant feature?
Have anyone tried this yet?
Besides, is the oleophobic coating of the glass affected? From the video below I think there's something wrong with his phone, the reflection looks pixelated

I have done it and it doesnt affect water resistant feature (its a film how can it affect the whole phone?)
the screen have little to no oleophobic feature, your best bet is to buy some rain-x spray it on there or buy another screen protector that have oleophobic property.
I'd leave it alone for the simple reason you'll regret it. I don't see how you could remove it, you can cover it over in some way but it's not going to look good and would be noticeable from certain angles.

It's scratches I'd be more concerned about, which is why I always stick one on top of the factory one because if or when I come to sell it, a pristine screen will get more than one that's scuffed to bits.

IT WILL SCRATCH.
IT WILL BREAK AND IT WILL SCRATCH.
My previous xperia z had antishatter removed and the screen scratched from a sand particle hidden in my microfibre cloth, if you decide or have taken of antishatter film, put on a screen protector as soon as you can. Preferably you should put on a good quality screen protector onto antishatter film. That way you will have constant new looking phone.
Which is what I've done with my NEW Xperia z.
after taking off antishatter layer on my first phone, AIthough i was trying to convince myself that it feels better, and looks better debranded,
Everytime the beautiful nostalgic sony ad came on, and the guy took out his xperia z to take a picture of his girlfriend covered in courfull dry paint. And then washed his xperia z afterwards showing off that beautiful sony logo. My heart would sink ,as I knew my phone would never look like that ever again.

You have to heat up the back then the adhesive comes loose, make sure you order a back glass that has the adhesive already applied and then you reheat that when you put it on. I did it on my Xperia Z and it worked fine. It's basically just a piece of waterproof tape that keeps the water out.
Or mayb you can use some p2000 waterproof sandingpaper and allot of patients? Don't know for sure, replacing is always possible...

Hi!
I ordered this (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/for-...cover-back-housing-back-glass/1603707841.html) back plate two weeks ago and it arrived yesterday, my old one was broken.. I don't know if it's glass or hard plastic, but it's holding up great without any protection!
There is no shatter film on the backplate, so I think its not original but OK.
It was very easy to take the old one off; just some heat, a sharp knife and a guitar pick did the trick.
The new one came with adhesive, and after cleaning the frame it went right on!
All in all very nice, and easy install, may be original, may be not.
Press thanks if I helped you

Hi!
For copyright issues it's blurred on the site, but it's there. First I was worried about the quality of the logo's and branding, but when it arrived, all the logo's (Sony, Xperia, NFC icon, G camera icon) were all very crisp and detailed!
It looks like the real deal
