[Q] Access Hardware Rendering option on KFHD? - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The title for this post should be about accessing Hardware OVERLAY NOT Rendering, I mixed HW Overlay with GPU rendering.
Here is some information about my device.. I'm not sure if it will be useful or not.. But if you have any questions, reply or send me a PM regarding this post.
Thanks.
Device: Kindle Fire HD 7"
System Version: 7.2.3
Root:YES
Model Number: KFTT
Firmware Version: 4.0.3
Kernel Version: 3.0.8-02784-g4dbe869
Build Number: IML74K
Running: ICS
No custom ROMS
Just send me a message if you need any more info about my device.
The whole reason that I am asking about HW Overlay settings is so I can disable it, and allow video screenshots to work on my kindle..
All help is appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] help:Change logging level for wpa_supplicant to MSG_DEBUG and compile!

Hi all,
I am using Nexus One running Android 2.3.4 with Kernel version 2.6.35.7 and GRJ22 build. It is unlocked and rooted. My ultimate aim is to make my Android attach itself to a particular AP (which i specify at runtime) during wifi scanning instead of the AP's listed in Wifi-networks under Wi-Fi settings of the phone.
To do this, I wanted myself to understand the code flow/logic flow as how the scanning is done and how these list of AP's are passed between code. I wanted to change the logging level of wpa_supplicant from MSG_INFO to MSG_DEBUG in common.c file found in source code (platform_external_wpa_supplicant/).
But I do not know how to compile the wpa_supplicant source and how to add the changes to the android device and see the extended logs.
Experienced programmers, please guide me to how can I enable my device to show me this extended wpa_supplicant logs?
This understanding should help me make progress !
thanks in advance.

Hi all,
I know that the post is quite old but I'm facing the same problem and I can't find the way to see the extended wpa_supplicant logs.
Can anybody tell me how to do it or where I can find the solution??
Thanks

Forget it...this was a false alarm. I am a big fat dummy.

I am now at:

Baseband Version – CDMA_n_03.1C.57r LTEDC_U_05.15.02
Webtop – WT-1.3.0-108_dbn-21
Kernel – 2.6.35.7-g68606e6 [email protected] #1

That seems to be the correct info from what I have been able to find. Your mileage may vary. If I am wrong somehow please let me know.

Your'e on 5.7.893. The OTA is 5.5.893.
For the OTA your info should be:
5.5.893.XT875.Verizon.US - System version
CDMA_N_03.1C.57Rltedc_u_05.15.01 - Baseband version
WT-1.3.0-108_DBN-21 - Webtop version
2.6.35.7-g68606e6 - [email protected] #1 - Kernel version
5.5.1_84_DBN-62 - Build number
HAHAHA...so what the hell did I update?
Sorry...I'm a dumb ass. I must have reflashed the 5.7 update somehow.

[Q] Kernel & Android (GT-7310)

Hi, sorry to post of question here, but it seems it is the only place where it is possible to talk about development for the GT-73xx.
I would like to do some work on the kernel, I am looking at this : [not allowed to post a link to motley-git]
But is there a guide on how to compile this GT-7310 kernel, and how to safely flash it to the tablet ? Does Samsung publish the source code of the bootloader ?
My goal is to develop a simple graphical user interface for a particular application using OpenGL but still be able to access the hardware features like WIFI, Audio, USB and multi-touch. So the tablet would only run my application.
I do not really need to run the Android OS (especially any java components), but if there are some kind of hardware android APIs I can still use from my C/C++ app, that would be great.
any help will be much appreciated

CloudOn app not compatible with Touchpad?

I'd like to try the CloudOn office suite app out on my Touchpad, however when I find it on the Play Store it says none of my devices are compatible.
Is it a hardware or software issue?

I couldn't get the app to come up in the playstore either.
Make a backup,,just in case, and try updating to the latest CM nightly http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568685, it's been stable for me. The Feb version you're running is outdated. You should notice the improvement.
I just updated to the latest nightly, and there's definitely some improvement!
I found a CloudOn apk and installed it, ran through the set up process, and when that was done it said the version I had was no longer supported.
I can't find a newer apk anywhere, any ideas where I might source it?

This thread is a bit old, but I found the apk for the latest CloudOn 2.5.1 (November 3rd) and it works great on the Touchpad. It scales perfectly to the display aspect ratio and for being a glorified remote desktop app it does a pretty good job at feeling like a native app. At least with this you get 100% Office compatibility since your using Microsoft Office, although they have changed the ribbons a bit to make it more touch friendly.
For free this app is a bargain, its great for quick edits when you want to preserve formatting. I've attached the apk for you so you can install it since Google Play still won't let us install.

how to install apk's help please ??

I bought Android Multimedia system for my car:
Model: MGCOL1
Ver: 4.4.2
Ver: MPSS.TR.1.0-01780-M8626AAAAANAZM
Core Ver: 3.4.0 - [email protected] #1
Build: msm8226-userdebug 4.4.2 KVT49L eng.fengxunyi.20150828.144551 test-keys
But is seems that the Android is blocked: no file explorer, no browser (but there is an app with WebView with Google), no Google Play Store and no Developer options for adb (I have tried to click on the Build Number and nothing happened).
How can I unblock it? I want to install some apps but I don't know how.
Hello. I know that there is a solution to this problem. Can anyone share it?
