i second this. Still love my sensation but has worse reception on any phone ive had.
hope the aluminium body doesn't affect reception/wi-fi on the htc one.
We wont know untill test units get out to users, rather than in phone shops or city centre hq's of tech companies.
i just hope its not like sensation
any comments
It's strong, on par with the Z. I have both. Much better than the X. This is s lovely phone, no complaints so far.

Can someone please suggest me If i shoud purchase HTC Incredible S or should i wait for HTC Sensation. I have heard of all the talk stating HTC Sensation being loaded with Sense 3.0 while Incredible S may get a limited update to Sense 3.0.
I would also like to know if Skype is available for download on HTC incredible S?
Thanks..would really appreciate the help
Numair
I have Skype on mine (though there is no video calling).
Personally I would wait for the Sensation now, if you're willing to pay the extra. Which isn't to say that the IS isn't a good phone, because it is, but you might as well get the latest and greatest if you have the choice. The Sensation will have more fancy animations and such.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
I would go with the Samsung Galaxy S II instead of the Sensation. HTC is locking the bootloader on the Sensation and who knows how long it'll take someone to crack it. I also like how the Galaxy S II has 16GB of internal storage already as well as more RAM.
Doctorsax,
There is no video calling? then y does it have a front cam? isnt that for video calling? jeez!..i thought it had video calling...but then i guess u r right..its betta to wait for Sensation...hopefully that wud be out soon..Thanks for ur reply
Doctorsax,
Hey can u plz explain me whats bootloader? and isnt Samsung Galaxy S2 too huge in size? i mean does it fit in ur pocket? ...and i read that the battery life of samsung galaxy s2 isnt good..but once again different ppl different opinions....
Well price is not that big of a difference, so sensation would be a nice choice if you really want HTC. As Someone else sais, Samsung galaxy s2 is deffinatly worth watching at too!
dont buy a sensation! im pretty sure the battery of sensation would be really bad. its a tradition of HTC from winmo -> android in last 10 years. the first piece of any hardware change got bad battery. a recent example would be inc S battery gets 2X using time than battery on DHD.
Wait to get a HTC Sensation 2, I bet you sensation2 would be a masterpiece.
Well sensation 2.0 would take sooo long to come..and by then we might have other phones lined up and i will end up waiting for them too ..hehehe
I guess samsung galaxy S2 is really good? but i hope it fits in the pocket..lollll..any idea bout battery life on that one?? n i guess the price wud be so much!
Also been considering 3 devices mentioned - SII, IS & Sensation....
- Samsung is pro with the battery, unlocked Bootloader...design is a bit plastic...but it depends
- IS is for the ones that want to use phone purely as is....with minimal customization environment provides
- Sensation Battery worries me, however in case it will be updated to latest 2.4 with Dual Core optimizations etc might stand a chance. When will this happed though ?
Sad thing is locked bootloader on both HTC, didn't know that is wide spreaded ...but in case you are within reasonable demands user - this is the optimal choice....

i would sell my IS if sensation comes out..but sadly..i dont like 4.3" screen...it is too big for me..

Sense 3.0 ports for single core devices are looking promising!
but if you are going to be on stock for awhile and want some power, i suggest holding out for the sensation.. or by then, the IS price will fall and it can help you make your mind up
Do not buy a Incredible S, it sucks! Is just a scrap phone for a lot of money! It sucks in ALL!
hmmm really????
can someone plz explain me what does root by xtc clip mean?
First, HTC said they will not lock bootloader hereafter. However, they never said when they will unlock current phones. Fingers crossed.
For video call, you can always install Tango from market. Personally, I prefer Tango over Skype.
In turn, the mentioned reasons shouldn't affect choosing Inc S or Sensation, or other brand phones.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
My Incredible S sucks ! I also have an HD2 with Android inside which is a lot better, more powerful and more compatible with many applications. I'm a bit disappointed because for example I cannot use Skype and Sip applications. Trying to call via this phone with these kind of applications is impossible. Battery consumption is a lot faster than the HD2. And sound reception call quality is pretty bad. Sometimes, it seems I'm talking in a conduit or a tunnel. Many echos ...
Hi,
I recently purchases an HTC Sensation and love everything EXCEPT the poor cellular reception. This is compared to my Motorola Milestone, but it is a known issue with the Sensation.
This is made worse by the fact that the antennas are built into the back cover and holding the phone reduces the signal further.
Where are the antennas on the HTC Raider? How is the GSM/3G reception?
Sent from my Sensation using XDA
Antennas are built into the phone, the back cover is just there to keep the battery from falling out. You could theoretically replace the back cover with a plastic version because it's just as functional as an SGS2, which is to say it doesn't really do anything at all.
Great, so reception is good?
I've looked around the development section. There don't seem to be many custom ROMs. Too early for CM9 or is there still something holding developers back?

There isn't an ICS HBOOT for anything other than the American Vivid, holding ROM development back.
Plus, two developers left the forum following a fallout.

I have no problem with reception and had this phone since early December, except in thick buildings where LTE can't get through really well, but otherwise 2G/3G/HSPA+ works really well.
Hi, i am going to buy a new phone, actually I am a apple user at the moment but I pass to android. I narrow the alternatives in to two. Htc Butterfly S and Xperia Z1. Which one is better, what are your suggesttions. I am actually closer to Butterfly S because of its beautiful screen and batterly life. But build quality and water resistance are the pros of Xperia z1. Can you help me to choose the one. Thanks in advance...

Get 're butterfly s
Sent from my HTC Butterfly s using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Sony Z1:
-is cheaper (and you'll have to import the Butterfly S, it's only released in Asia)
-has a battery almost as big as the Butterfly S's, (3000mah vs 3200mah)
-has a faster processor (snapdragon 800 vs snapdragon 600)
-has a lot better camera (not just more megapixels)
-is made of metal (Butterfly S is all plastic)
-is dust proof and water resistant, more than 1 meter for 30 minutes Sony claims
-has a Triluminos display with X-Reality Engine, whatever that means
2 reasons to pick the Butterfly over the Z1:
1) the Z1 feel uncomfortable in the hand, it's al edges, where the Butterfly S is nicely rounded and fits perfectly in the hand
2) dual front speakers on the Butterfly S, imho that's where speakers are suppesed to be
Z1 wasn't available when i bought my Butterfly S, not sure what i would've bought if they would've been released at the same time, the fact you probably will need to import the Butterfly S might make it an easier choice...

I will visit to Azerbaijan in January htc butterfly s is available there and I am planning to get it from there. My hesitations about Z1 are the screen and battery (most of the reviews says that it is not well enough ). Butterfly s's screen is awesome and the battery is so well. Of course z1 has a great build quality but anyway it is a tough decision
The downside of the water proofing is all those dust covers that annoyed the crap out of me with the Xperia Z and it feels like a large flat brick in my hand, it's ok on the iPhone cuz it's smaller. I went for the BFS and loving it, specially battery life, I could care less for the other specs cuz these phones are now faster than my laptop. One thing to add is I can't use a phone without HTC sense, to me all others look n feel inferior.

You plan buying a phone in Azerbaijan? It's like 200 bucks more I bought mine from UAE for 700$ here it's ~850$ (I live in Azerbaijan). I don't like the Xperia phones cause the device is really uncomfortable, I have never had a water resistant phone and guess what I still have almost all of my phones here in my drawer and all of them are working And the UI on the Xperia devices is awful, it's really ugly, it's something stuck between AOSP and a custom skin by the OEM and boring whereas HTC Sense is just beautiful and you can customize it the way you want with the new Venom One ROM
Hope I helped
I can suggest a website for online ordering if you want. It's way cheaper there

Actually you can I got myself an HTC One Max a week ago from a website, you just have to register it within a month after you insert your sim card If you wan't to buy the phone you can check out Computex, World Telecom and Irshad Telecom I personally recommend Computex, it's cheaper there (Relatively, but it's still expensive) I have seen it in Computex and World Telecom, check these shops out

I was also thinking about it... but Butterfly S has a Hello Kitty version... so expensive but it's a collectible! Course as a 30+ woman I have something about HK and Samsung HK phone is Galaxy Y, garbage!
A friend has Xperia Z1 and he said it's a cool phone... and HK Butterfly S has no 4G but... 4G is so expensive here that my family can't have it, my father pays my phone's bills so I must have what he wants to. The only way to have it is buying from eBay, there is a nice seller who sends EMS. Z1 I can buy anywhere here in Brazil and it costs about 705USD here, almost the same amount as HK Butterfly S. So, yes... I can't decide! :silly:
Help me, Butterfly S owners! :fingers-crossed:

Here are the sizes-
One plus one- 152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm
Xperia z1- 144 x 74 x 8.5 mm
Htc one m7- 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3
It is clear that one plus one has a 5.5 inch display in the size of xperia z1's dimesions.
Size is a factor too as our m7 is the smaller one but we are getting a 5.5inch display in the size of z1.

Bro, Sense 6 is anyday better than that weirdo UI and IMO, Stock Android as well. Another thing, support for HTC is pretty good. Particularly since you live in India, you know how it is. I don't even know if One Plus even has service centres abroad. Plus, I wouldn't quite trust the reliability of a brand new company.......
The phone has excellent value, in which HTC isn't quite competing. But I would anyday go fr the M8

Samsung radios are always better than HTC in my experience. That said, the M8 has one of the best radios HTC has come up with - way better than the M7. I would imagine the S5 still has better reception due to it not being a metal phone.
