After sending back 3 HTC M8's due to really bad build quality I like the look on the One Plus One.
Don't quite understand this band 20 stuff, will this work with my Vodafone UK sim?

I think it will work worlwide as the phone has all the frequency bands which major companies use. As the One plus company is new it will be focusing on quality of this phone. Never settle

Here are the sizes-
One plus one- 152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm
Xperia z1- 144 x 74 x 8.5 mm
Htc one m7- 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3
It is clear that one plus one has a 5.5 inch display in the size of xperia z1's dimesions.
Size is a factor too as our m7 is the smaller one but we are getting a 5.5inch display in the size of z1.

One +1 looks really nice, except it's too large for my liking.

Bro, Sense 6 is anyday better than that weirdo UI and IMO, Stock Android as well. Another thing, support for HTC is pretty good. Particularly since you live in India, you know how it is. I don't even know if One Plus even has service centres abroad. Plus, I wouldn't quite trust the reliability of a brand new company.......
The phone has excellent value, in which HTC isn't quite competing. But I would anyday go fr the M8

Incredible S!!!

http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/15/htc-refreshes-android-lineup-with-incredible-s-desire-s-and-wil/
I just wish the resolution was a bit higher, but i'm not going to complain. Really weird that it will be shipping with Android 2.2 (in Q2 of this year???) Also no mention of it being a 4G phone. And the biggest bummer, it doesn't say anything about it coming stateside
How about you guys, thoughts on the Incredible S?
Ah, you got to it before me. Anyway, the rotating capacitive buttons mean a rotating Rosie, so maybe we can finally see a Sense 2.5 build for the Incredible that's almost native, right? That being said, the picture clearly shows that there isn't an optical trackpad anymore, but I don't think anyone will really miss it.
To be honest its sad to see HTC's lineup. I honestly don't care about dual core, but I don't think they made any of their new phones dual core. Most of them were just barely updated from what they were the previous year. I really like HTC phones, but I think they need to step up their game to keep up with Moto, LG, Samsung, and any others. Their tablet doesn't even have honeycomb.

The recent announcements are hardly their full line up, but exactly what you said, updates of last year, as well as a few low to mid end "gimmick" devices (Facebook button, anyone?). Those are all intended to be global phones. Don't worry, I think we can still expect flagship phones like the Thunderbolt, Inspire 4G, and the much more recently rumored Revolver.(The latter two may be AT&T, don't remember). At least, I hope we can.
We can't expect any of these phones state side anytime soon. It's usually 6-12months before we see any phones that are "NEW".
That has slowly been changing though with carriers state side getting their own designed phones to compete with each other. I'm curious to see if T-mobile will get anything SUPER AWESOME like Sprint and Verizon have been getting. T-Mobiles line of MyTouch phones don't appeal to me design wise and Sense is the only way to go.
The Incredible S specs have Europe/Asia - HSPA: 900/AWS/2100 MHz and that should mean the with AWS it will work with Tmobiles 3G stateside. Looks like I'll be buying unlocked again if that's true. The Incredible S and the Flyer are the only 2 devices that list AWS in the Bands. So I hope it's true.

I say that because that is usually the case. The US always gets phones later then the rest of the world. This is changing somewhat. It used to be a year+ before we saw phones. Our phone tech was always behind that of the world and still is. Look at the HD2. It came out in August/Sept of 09 around the world and when a US carrier got it it was like March/April of 2010. At least the gap is closing and the US now has some phones that the world doesn't but we still miss out on most products and still have to wait for others to reach our shores. Unless you but unlocked of course.
Some are saying that the specs are disapointing for the Incredible S how ever once you use it and compare against the Desire you should be impressed, I am and have both; the Inc S is far superior to the Desire IMHO.
Hi Guys,
I have a question about incredible s internal space. before i had desire hd and its shows 1.07 GB without installing any apps. and it was 1.5GB. now i bought incredible s it also shows 1.06GB internal space without installing any personal apps. and its is 1.1GB by htc. so what is the difference whether its stock rom is small one or it has same 1.5 GB like desire hd.
Mine arrived ... But I'm still at work ... aaaaah ...

incredible s
how is the screen on the incredible s compared to the desire and the desire hd. i have a desire amoled but i purchased a hd and was not impressed with the colours ,it looked washed out.
if it matches the slcd of the 1st desire after they changed from amoled i would be happy to take the plunge.

Considering returning my One X is the vivid a viable alternative?

The lack of bootloader unlock along with the horrible multitasking has me with a major case of buyer's remorse. Before I return it though I want to have full knowledge of what to replace it with.
I've owned an Inspire and thought it was a terrific phone.
I see there's lots of development going on with the Vivid and that's great. I just don't want to make another mistake
Wait for the bootloader unlock, the HTC ONE X is 1000x better than the vivid.
Go with the Vivid, u will be happier I am coming from Inspire also...
Because if you didnt have one yet it may be awhile before AT&T gets more as they are held up by Customs...

The Vivid has a Snapdragon S3 dual core clocked at 1.2. The One X has a Snapdragon S4 dual core clocked at 1.5. S3 is made on the 40-45nm process and is based on the ARM Cortex A9 reference designs. The S4 is made on the new 28nm process and is based on ARM Cortex A15 reference designs. Both being "based" on the reference designs, tells you they were custom designed in house by Qualcomm. The major difference between the 2 chips is not in clockspeed, but in the manufacturing process used to fabricate the chips. The 28nm process means better battery life compared to the S3s.

Next phone once IncS dies...

Thinking ahead, there will be a sad day when my trusty Incredible S kicks the bucket. So I've started looking for comparable phones seeing as I love this one so much, and my basic requirements are 4" screen size and hopefully HTC unless I can be convinced otherwise (I love Sense).
I think the Desire X is looking pretty great and is at the top of my list so far. http://www.htc.com/au/smartphones/htc-desire-x/
Any other suggestions? Or what will you be getting?

I would advise against the Desire X as a replacement for the Inc S. It probably wouldn't me much of an upgrade, if at all. The Desire X does have an S4 processor, but it's the lowest end S4 available and is nowhere near the performance levels of the S4's you find in the One X/S, North American GS3 etc. It also uses a significantly older CPU architecture in the Cortex A5, whereas our phone has a Cortex A8 CPU and modern dual cores/quad cores are based on the Cortex A9. The latest S4 processors are loosely based off the Cortex A15 which hasn't been released to the masses yet.
TLDR; Go with a Nexus phone or a higher end HTC than the desire X
Personally, I won't buy another HTC phone until they release a phone with on-screen buttons and 2GB of RAM. I'm hoping they make a phone like that, I really want another HTC.
I like Xperia S.
SGS3 though I don't see my IncS dying anytime soon lol. Ganna have to wait till my contact ends in 2013 Aug. Even then I think I'd be happy with SGS3 though new and better phones would be out by that time lol

My next phone is going to be an htc one X. Nice phone and I'll still have text reflow.
I wonder why text reflow is not implemented by default into Android.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I understand it wouldn't be much of an upgrade if I chose the Desire X, but I love the incredible s so much I wanted something similar. I really don't want anything larger than 4", I have my Nexus 7 for things that require a larger screen so that seems to limit my options to mid-range phones these days.
ZaySk.. that's crazy that it uses older CPU architecture than the IncS :s why on earth would they do that?
maybe an iphone5?

I'm currently thinking of buying a Galaxy Nexus. It's pretty cool and my IncS is about to get its USB-Port broken but I can still sell it to my brother when it's working. But I'm not sure. A One X would be the best thing that could happen to me but I really cannot afford that. I just hope my IncS doesn't let me down so soon...

Butterfly S vs Sony Xperia Z1

Hi, i am going to buy a new phone, actually I am a apple user at the moment but I pass to android. I narrow the alternatives in to two. Htc Butterfly S and Xperia Z1. Which one is better, what are your suggesttions. I am actually closer to Butterfly S because of its beautiful screen and batterly life. But build quality and water resistance are the pros of Xperia z1. Can you help me to choose the one. Thanks in advance...

Sent from my HTC Butterfly s using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Sony Z1:
-is cheaper (and you'll have to import the Butterfly S, it's only released in Asia)
-has a battery almost as big as the Butterfly S's, (3000mah vs 3200mah)
-has a faster processor (snapdragon 800 vs snapdragon 600)
-has a lot better camera (not just more megapixels)
-is made of metal (Butterfly S is all plastic)
-is dust proof and water resistant, more than 1 meter for 30 minutes Sony claims
-has a Triluminos display with X-Reality Engine, whatever that means
2 reasons to pick the Butterfly over the Z1:
1) the Z1 feel uncomfortable in the hand, it's al edges, where the Butterfly S is nicely rounded and fits perfectly in the hand
2) dual front speakers on the Butterfly S, imho that's where speakers are suppesed to be
Z1 wasn't available when i bought my Butterfly S, not sure what i would've bought if they would've been released at the same time, the fact you probably will need to import the Butterfly S might make it an easier choice...

I will visit to Azerbaijan in January htc butterfly s is available there and I am planning to get it from there. My hesitations about Z1 are the screen and battery (most of the reviews says that it is not well enough ). Butterfly s's screen is awesome and the battery is so well. Of course z1 has a great build quality but anyway it is a tough decision
The downside of the water proofing is all those dust covers that annoyed the crap out of me with the Xperia Z and it feels like a large flat brick in my hand, it's ok on the iPhone cuz it's smaller. I went for the BFS and loving it, specially battery life, I could care less for the other specs cuz these phones are now faster than my laptop. One thing to add is I can't use a phone without HTC sense, to me all others look n feel inferior.

You plan buying a phone in Azerbaijan? It's like 200 bucks more I bought mine from UAE for 700$ here it's ~850$ (I live in Azerbaijan). I don't like the Xperia phones cause the device is really uncomfortable, I have never had a water resistant phone and guess what I still have almost all of my phones here in my drawer and all of them are working And the UI on the Xperia devices is awful, it's really ugly, it's something stuck between AOSP and a custom skin by the OEM and boring whereas HTC Sense is just beautiful and you can customize it the way you want with the new Venom One ROM
Hope I helped
I can suggest a website for online ordering if you want. It's way cheaper there

A friend has Xperia Z1 and he said it's a cool phone... and HK Butterfly S has no 4G but... 4G is so expensive here that my family can't have it, my father pays my phone's bills so I must have what he wants to. The only way to have it is buying from eBay, there is a nice seller who sends EMS. Z1 I can buy anywhere here in Brazil and it costs about 705USD here, almost the same amount as HK Butterfly S. So, yes... I can't decide! :silly:
Help me, Butterfly S owners! :fingers-crossed:
Actually Butterfly S has 4G But 901s not 901e

Not much a problem, 4G is so expensive here I'm sure my father won't sign the service.

Should i trade my iphone 5 for a htc one m7?

Should i trade my iphone 5 for a htc one m7 or i should keep the iphone?
i absolutely love love my iphone but i want to try android
so should i trade it for m7 or keep the iP5 and wait to a better android device i can buy or trade with iphone
well, personally im to htc over Iphone - only had iphone 4s, but quickly got rid of it again and went to htc one later on (which i havent regret)
its a preference still, dont see why you would trade if you infact love the phone you have already just to try out android
i havent had the iphone 5 myself only played around with it from my friends who have it
still prefer android, no doubt.
i would properly wait till next launches of phones if you had in mind of buying a new, thats what i do.
yeh trade it for htc one loll, just install miuiv5 rom on it after, best of both worlds ps, make sure everything is workin on htc one before ie headphone jack and both speakers
is the m7 laggy or has battery drain on sense 6 4.4.3 ?

M7 laggy? It was never laggy, it's one of the snappiest phones I ever used. Battery is another story. My stock M7 can last through out a day, but barely. My rooted M7 lasts for a fay and a half to two days without a problem

dude htc one m7 is da best lookin phone hands down , iv got the red one !!! its real fast too, no laqg watsoeva, maybe newer devices have beta cpu/gpu, but htc one still holds its own LOLL, WE ALWAYS COMPARE PHONES IN MY FAM ,s3, S4 , S5, IPHONE 5S , IPHONE5 , NOTE 2, my htc one still looks the best
yeah. you should trade it. LOL. my One M7 is the best phone i've ever have. you can't compare the battery life because it's depend on personal daily use. if you wanna try the purest Android system, try the LG Nexus 5. but with One M7 you have a full metal body instead of hard plastic. or do you wanna trade your iPhone for a HTC One M8?

I traded my iphone 5s for a htc one (m7) and havent had moment regret. The iphone 5s was/is a great phone, would recommend to anyday
but the htc one and android for that matter just gave me a lot more fun due to the android os being so much opener and the fact that i dont
like apple desciding what i can or not install or use on my phone.
And after rooting and installing custom roms the fun just got a lot better. Im even thinking about getting a second M7 so i have 1 for daily use (maybe stock..) and 1 for playing around with roms everything. For me this phone is just perfect, 4,7inch screen is excellent, the phone size is just right (shouldnt be bigger).
