Okay, total Noob question..
..so I can see the use for ADB when running scripts or sending commands to the KF2,
but why do I need to push files to the KF2 with ADB instead of using Win Explorer to drag & drop files to the KF2 "internal SD" like Im able to on my phones for instance?
EDIT: I see now that I should have asked this in the Kindle Fire 2 Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting forum instead of here.
I would move it or delete it, but I dont have those rights.
I'll wait & see if a mod moves it before I creat another thread.
My apologies.
Dearest.

OP you didn't search hard enough. There currently are no one click root setups for Froyo. Do what that thread says and you will have no issues.
I admit defeat, after I posted the question, my coworker found it for me in no time. Kid you not, I had 13 tabs open at one point.

If anyone is interested, I built a tool to root the Lenovo K1
I tested it on K1_A301_04_04_111017_US.
This is a stock image with SU installed. However, you could replace the system.img image with any custom image you want to make, if you don't like the stock one.
Warning: This will delete everything on your tablet.
It would be possible to change the Nvflash to only load a rooted boot image, if that's what you wanted. You could just flash in the boot.img which would give you a ADB root, but that's your call and you'll have to change the loader.
Also, if you hook this up and want to use ADB to connect then you will need to build driver definitions and add 0x17EF to the adb_usb.ini. Here are the driver definitions.
[Google.NTx86]
;Lenovo
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install,USB\VID_17EF&PID_740A
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install,USB\VID_17EF&PID_740A&MI_01
[Google.NTamd64]
;Lenovo
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install,USB\VID_17EF&PID_740A
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install,USB\VID_17EF&PID_740A&MI_01

Also this is a tool plus a complete set of images (the whole tablet of data all partitions).

if for ideapad you just made my little sisters Christmas so much better.

I don't have a thinkpad, if I did I'd root it too. You should be able to download this tool and set of images and tweak it for the thinkpad. It uses a ASUS set of leaked keys, so it might just work for you.
Cheers

Unless you found a new set than the one already circulating, that set of Lenovo leaked keys does not work on the Thinkpad, unfortunately.
On holiday computer(far from my computer) and unable to test this. Though I'm sure someone would have collected the $300 bounty by now if there was a leaked key set out there.

Now, why would any manufacture lockout a device so it cannot be rooted? What are they thinking? This will be the end of Android when Windows 8 appears.
Makers of these tablets need to realize that everyone does NOT want all those applications they load these tablets with.

A quick question can someone create a Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet K1 forum? I don't know if it needs a certain level of demand. I know have some questions that belong in the general section of the Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet K1 forum and not here Sorry I'm not trying to be sarcastic.

Unfortunately this is true, Forum request thread had been temporary closed. We have had a massive increase in devices being released. Having a forum for all of them would be a tall order.
The forum request thread was set up in good faith, to try to highlight the popular devices so forums could be opened. But as pointed out it quickly went down hill by people demanding things (put politely). I myself have been a target of some trolling on not opening sub-forums. Even though it is totally out of my hands (its down to the site admin) Its a growing issue here on XDA Developers. Hope fully the admin will come to a good solution to the issue.
If anybody notices before me that that thread has been re-opened, please let the good people of this forum aware of it. I am sure others will want to post there interest.
Sorry to the OP for taking this thread off topic, but i wanted to answer that as quickly as possible. I will add this to the read before posting thread to take all other questions. So please no more about this in this thread.

Works absolutely flawlessly! Thank you!
FIXING Netflex
If you have problems on the K1 getting Netflix to work and you are rooted then do the following from the 'adb shell'
#
# mount -t rfs -o remount,rw system /system
exit
C:\Android>adb push libnvomx.so /system/lib
Now reboot your tablet. Basically you have to replace the /system/lib/libmvomx.so file with the one I've attached. Once you do that, it will get rid of that nasty 12001 error.
Enjoy,
TD

I've tried that site guy's, they really are there, the files, but I have no income to create an account to get the files. Thank's for looking!. I'm wondering if any one has it on a phone and could get an adb backup created for us here to try. This site http://www.downloads.bombaymobiles.in/index.php?dir=Samsung%20Flash%20files/I897/ has alot of files for diffirent phones, i'm directing you to the i897 files and JE5 is in there if you want an idea what its like, But again looking for JE4, i've read that it's less buggy and I just really want to use it and mess around with it.

Hi U Hey guys so I was thinking that many people aka noobs don't even know how to change the Boot animation....... So we'll I can understand their feeling that there is such a really low amount of guides for this topic....... I was a noob like them once and have many things to help them.......
STEP 1:
Well first u would need a custom boot Animation of ur choice and with the same width and height for your device..... If u want one check this XDA page
https://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&s...XmVXj6EAP_zGR96tA&sig2=XEvJfMYaWTWv8fO8SCZTCg
STEP 2
Then u would need root browser apk which is available in the play store.....
https://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&s...EVfQGdejmbcfqwXfw&sig2=nn0P-rn2hT78Z4OvlC3KmA
STEP 3
Move the Boot animation zip file to system/media and place it der..(in root browser of course) and then hold ur finger der
STEP 4:
Scroll and select permission
STEP 5:
Do what is present on the first pic
Then reboot ur phone and see the magic happen... Isn't it easy well it can be made easier!!!!!!!
ANOTHER METHOD:
Download an app which is available in the play store called boot Animation which installs the Boot animation automatically....... Well here u go..... So more pics will help u so I will post them and guys this was my first guide will be taking out another one on how to make a boot Animation so pls help me if I have gone wrong..........
Pics for boot Animation app (2 and third pic)
Link :
https://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&s...NKGSzAeM35feGF2OQ&sig2=FkvErgsRzgz65Hr3EKEPGQ
I ain't a professional so pls guide me if I am wrong in this guide or stuff
I
.... I won't be responsible for bricked phones or dead SD cards or thermonuclear war
Just post ur questions below.........
Thanks for wanting to contribute, but there some issues with your guide. here are some tips
1. Make it instruction like. use steps (1,2,3..)
2. Give at least a link to the app if you are suggesting it
3. Maybe you could try getting the links from the images and show them below the steps, having to click attachments is not really handy
4. Don't use "dem" or "der" please. we no talk liek dis u no
If you want to know more about this subject, find this out for your own sake of curiousity
- How to preview a bootanimation that you just pushed without rebooting phone
- How to push it with adb

With Nexus 7 devices and possibly other devices, there is no need to put the bootanimation.zip into /system/media, you can just place it into /data/local, it will override the one in /system/media, it is the proper way to do it, no need to mount system r/w, etc.

I see your are new to xda, only one post, so maybe you do not know.
Response to a thread is not done through e-mail.
Community forum needs open questions and answers in the forum , to be helpfully to the community.
Also a search in the forum you are posting in would have returned your answer anyway.
