Every JB rom I install, the phone does not work properly.
I can hear them but they can not hear me.
Is it JB or my phone?
Daily is stock ICS 4.0.4.
Phone works fine.
Any help appreciated.
If it works in stock, it's the ROMs. You might have a bad download or an unclean install, try redownloading and wiping everything then reinstalling. Some jb ROMs have issues because we don't have a jb kernel yet.

I've installed several JB roms now and it always the same.
CM 10.1 and Liquid Smooth v2.1 I've loaded twice each... again, the same results.
I'm installing the roms via Safestrap.
It's aggrevating!
Speaker phone doing that is a known issue but my regular phone to the ear and bluetooth have both worked since the late March nightlies.

this problem is found since i flashed ics rom
i used to be rocket rom user, everything works great with r rom v22
then i started to use ics, also started to face the problem
the first ics rom i flashed is midtone2.0, everything is fine but the tethering
when data is in use, the tethering will turn off automatically and immediatly each time i turn it on.
however, when i turn off data...tethering runs normally, but it s useless as no network function...
then i reinstall the rom, but nothing changes
few days after i flashed the team rokcket rom, thought i could solve this issue
however it is still the same
then i restored the rocket rom, then the tethering works fine again with data in use
i repeated flashing ics and restoring and wiping and blah blah blah...nothing takes effect
team rocket rom: same problem
midtone2.0 :same problem
chain fire ics repack: same problem
i've go through a lot of threads but didnt find a solution...anyone got an idea?
sorry for my poor eng

All the ROMs u have tried with is based on Chinese leak i9220. So still the ROM is in Beta Stage and need to fix lot of bugs in it. you should wait for proper N7000 leak which is going to be out in next few days.
yes...but just feel so strange as it seems like i'm the only one facing this issue...
i 'll will try other ics leak from other countries then, hope it helps

Also, does anyone have a problem with tethering via usb?
Whenever I flash a custom ROM from stock eclair, the camera just doesn't work half the time. The camera app would open and it would just be a blank viewfinder. I found that closing and reopening the camera like 3 or 4 times fixes it temporarily. When I leave the phone sitting for a while and try to open the camera, it always opens with the blank viewfinder.
I tried searching about this but I guess it isn't a common issue at all, so if anyone can offer any advice I'd appreciate it

Well this really depends on the ROM you are flashing when coming from Eclair, which ROM did you try, and which kernel with that?
Well, I was on Team Hacksung's ICS build 17(icy glitch v14 b6), AOKP(same kernel), Doc's Master(the kernel that came with it), and Slim ICS 3.1(the kernel that came with it). I also tried a custom gingerbread ROM which I can't remember the name of atm.

OK, I think the problem is that all of the roms you've been flashing are ics builds and all of the ics builds for the galaxy s are ported at the moment, and because they are ported they don't always work. So my guess is that your camera doesn't work because of your ics builds, why don't you try a ROM built for captivate like fasty ROM or darky ROM or even cyanogenmod7?

I actually have tried cm7 but the camera would not open at all with that one.

None of the CM build are made for the captivate, try a rom built from stock and see if the issue happens on that. Maybe try legend rom from crt it is a very good rom based off of stock kk4.

I've tried flashing legend but that got me into a bootloop. I have successfully flashed Simply Stock, but I had the same camera issue.
This was a while ago, but I remember having camera problems as soon as I got the official gingerbread update from froyo. If I remember correctly the camera would always force close as soon as I opened it.
you must have a hardware problem.
camera works fine on ICS for the past 2 months at least. nothing but bad advice in this thread. i am running AOKP right now. used camera today.. used it now.. it works.
cm camera works fine, cm IS built for captivate, or in those thoughts... CM isnt built for any phone..??..
Well, I should also make it clear that the camera always seems to open with no problems on stock eclair or froyo, so yeah... it's a pretty strange case. I don't really want to trade everything else great about ICS and go back to froyo because of my ocd lol.

That's kind of what i meant lol its not a stock build.

Um, so is it unlikely I'll ever be able to fix this issue then?
Had same problem with every ICS rom I've tried. Seems camera only works with LCD density set to 220, at least on my phone. Check if it makes a difference on your phone. Under Settings > ROM Control> General UI> LCD Density
1. What is the best ICS rom and kernel for O2X?
2. If I flash ICS on O2X, can I go back to temasek CM7 by just doing a cache and data wipe or do I have to change file system too or anything?

1. In my opinion owians build is the best. OAKP is pretty good too
2. Yes.

But kernel?
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA
When doing a full data & cache wipe, that won't be a problem.
I mean, I can't use CM7 temasek voodoo kernel what I am using right now with CM9, right? I asked for a good kernel that is compatible with CM9

I prefer the nova-hd-roms. Owains Roms totally rock, too. Only advantage on the nova ones is the installer for lazy people like me. There you can choose between some predefined bb, kernel and so on.
I actually use nova 24-50 with the actual harsh-kernel (non-oc). It runs totally smooth and i have no reboots or signal-drops with my device. Battery usage is always pretty good (~17h with medium internet-usage and listening to music for about 1-2 hours per day. Wifi and BT deactivated).
I tottally reccomend the Nova Hd roms
And the newest harsh kernel, download it separately if the newest version isnt included in the Rom.
I have ultra smooth ui and 1.5 days battery, whatsapp on and typein, some browsing ect.
and you should use the get ril app in case you have ril issues.
CM7 kernels won't work on CM9. For what I've read, Harsh's kernel works quite nice with Owain's CM9 ROM.
Keep in mind, as others said, that in order to switch between CM7 and CM9 you need to do a full wipe (data/cache) as there are few things that might and will surely break if you try flashing CM9 over CM7 (and viceversa) without wiping. Do a nandroid backup before you attempt anything so you can restore your device if something goes wrong.
use rom manager or manually boot to cwm recovery to backup rom.
Can recover back quickly to temasek 7
There all rubbish.
I actually tried out Owain CM9 and did not like it very much. There were some hiccups, plus I got a message about gapps crashing every minute, but I still loved the look of it (the UI and everything) However, I believe ICS will be a beast if we get necessary drivers. I may also try out Nova HD later, this may be better.
Oh and btw what happens when I go to developer options in ICS and enable that force 2D acceleration option? It basically should not be possible to have HW acceleration on our devices without drivers right?

I had the problem too with the gapps crashing..
I flashed an older version of gApps hand now the problem is gone
Sent with my LG-P990 with Tapatalk2
When you try the new nova HD rom, make sure you install it WITHOUT gapps, just download and install the latest gapps manualy and you won't get the error message

I've been using Owain's builds lately, before this one was running Nova HD, but it all depends on what you want a cleaner install or one which already comes with some "extras". About the Kernel i'm using Harsh.
I currently have Youngunns AOKP rom installed on my phone which works great.
However I have tried to flash 3 other Roms after clearing Dalvik, Cache and User Data and whenever I use bluetooth and it connects to my car it freezes and then crashes to the Moto unlocked bootloader message and stays there.
The only way to get it to reboot is by holding down the Power & Volume buttons.
Then once the Rom boots up it freezes up and does the same exact thing even if I have the bluetooth off.
Any Ideas what can be causing this as it has done it on Pacman, the other AOKP Rom and Liquid Rom too.
Thanks in advance
Happened to me too with aokp. I haven't found a custom ROM yet that has all I need, so back to stock I went.

I'm on younguns 6/24 AOKP and it does not have the Bluetooth problem.
I'm thinking since I tried the latest versions of the above mentioned roms that maybe they were all built from the same source, thus having the same problem with Bluetooth.
Anyone else running into this problem?

Alright so I just installed the latest liquid ROM v 2.9 and it did the same thing with the BT.
However when I flashed v 2.8. Bluetooth seems to work fine with no bootloop.
So it seems that the latest liquid, PAC, and non-youngunns AOKP all have the same problem.
I hope they fix it in later updates

I tried a few roms out an seem to all have removed prl update, poor to little signal, broken gps locking, an a few other issues. My concern today I'm bringing up is wondering if anyone could supply me a clean stock rom. I need to wipe and install it. I feel going back to stock is my best option at this time so atleast my functions could work. Just at the moment kind of lost. sorry for the noob help.
What rom are you using that it's broken on? Working fine on tranquil but its far from a stock rom
Sent from the bowels of hell
Stock rom is more stable & fast, but I don't like the UI.
Using CM, works fine.
