Okay so I have one phone and I have a few games with saves that I'd like to keep. So if I use titanium backup to backup those apps and if i was to restore them after flashing a new rom and kernal would my save still be there?
So basically is using titanium backup to backup apps between different roms work?

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what rom because if you back up the app and/or data with it just make sure you have titanium installed after you get settled in your new rom & the app & just restore data using titanium. You should be fine
k i was wondering for future references for if i got to the deoxed version of liquidsense.

Just out of interest are any of the active members of this forum considering creating a custom rom for the 2X?
Hopefully, because this is a crappy system you get out of the box. To many running apps that takes to much ram and slows down the system. To many pre-installed apps. So i'm really looking forward to a custom ROM. Does any one know how custom ROMS are made?
Well i hope lots of Devs get this phone as it is quite the powerhouse! Man i wish i knew how to make custom ROMs! there should be a dummys guide!! haha but yeah ive heard Paul O'Brien at Modoco is thinking of getting one.... now thats what you call support

How do i disable them?
SuperOneClick v1.7 worked fine, so my phone is now rooted
U can delete the apps. (Backups)
Or just rename them change ****.apk to ****.bak for example. Dont know if this will restore on reboot.
Maybe someone else can answer to this. Perm or temproot?

You can use rootexplorer to remove or move apk from /system/app. Preloaded fsecure is slowing down the phone, just delete it.
To make custom rom we need clockwork mod recovery on 2X
I have used z4root, and installed Titanium Backup. Is there any danger to uninstalling apps that are pre-installed?

It all worked fine. And i have made backups. As soon a good stable rom is out i'm done using this from lg. If i download a new home launcher, will the old one still use any resourses other than space?

No, you can disable lg home launcher from “home selector“ in the main menu. i have ADWlauncher instead of lg launcher and i don't see lg launcher anymore in system processes

What do you mean by "home selector" in the main menu? I don't have my x2 yet, so I suppose it's something special by LG? I don't know this setting from my HTC.
I recently flashed my O2X and started to use CyanogenMod 7.1.0, but now since Ricardo Cerqueira have released a CM9 ROM with ICS I want to try it out.
I have ROM Manager and ClockworkMod Recovery installed, and cm9 + gapps ics is placed in the root of my SD.
Whats the best or easiest way to do an upgrade?

Make a full backup of your apps with titanium backup. After that go to clockworkmod and do a full nandroid backup. The apps with titanium you can recover after you install your new rom, and the nandroid backup from clockworkmod you can use to restore the full install you currently have. After backup is done, wipe all, and install the cm9 rom and directly after install the latest gapps. Reboot and enjoy ics. Use the market to download titanium and restore your apps. Be sure to buy titanium because recovering with the free version is a pain in the ass
Goodluck!
That was fast, thank you very much - I'll give it a try
Upgrade went smooth and it seems to run fine, but how do I add widgets to the home screen?

Hi nrupesh2912,
First of all Thanks for your excellent work for the ROM. It works very smoothly. I`m also impressed with the battery life. Also the camera resolution looks improved. I`m very a happy. I have one quick question regarding Titanium Backup. It looks like it is a system App. I want to uninstall this app as it is a trial version. Could you let me know how do I do this.
Regards,
Pavan

Hi nrupesh,
I noticed that with Titanium backup when I move all the user apps from phone storage to Internal Card after restart they are back in phone storage.
Looks like the default storage is Phone and not internal Storage. I also tried with Link2SD and clean master but all of them fail as after sometime they come back to phone.
please help.
Thanks
Hi Guys,
What's the best way to transfer app with app data from old phone to new? Most applications like Xender only move the app and requires customisation after this. I have had some success with Migrate, but is there anything better for the job?
Thanks
You could give Swift backup a go

After using Titanium Backup for many years, I recently started using Migrate and I still use it because I found that with Android 11, TB had some issues.
Is there any issues you found with Migrate and I why you want to try other app?
Cheers!

Migrate is good
Alpha backup has done for me also a good job.
Titanium was the best app, years ago. They forgot to engineer on time...
Is the free version enough to copy app data and bring to new phone?

Hi!! any app that can make migrate app data from a duplicated app? My poco allowed me to duplicates apps like whatsapp, insta and others but when I check on Migrate or Titanium, I don't see those....or maybe there's another way of copying them?
Thanks!

Good way (if rooted) is here
Migrate is a new app to help you switch custom ROMs
Tired of custom ROM switching being an annoying task? Migrate will walk you through the process of switching to another custom ROM with your data intact.
www.xda-developers.com
But I'm using alpha backup pro

Swift backup is very good too ! For root..
And free
A year ago I used OandBackupX (opensource and free) and it worked fine.
You can download it from F-Droid.
Titanium Backup is deprecated
for me titanum backup did the job and it restored most of apps with their data but for some apps it require instaling them first then restore the data only
btw you have to be rooted

Which app and version is the main dual app ?
I'm trying it with "Abra", a crypto wallet, just to check with one app instead of all at the same time. The build version is 995
I have used swift backup few times without issues. Beware though it encrypts the backup and needs to be signed into same Google account for restore to work.
Is there anything that can save the settings in Android itself? Things such as notification volume, button assignments(long press does XXX) etc?
