EDIT: This guy was one of the best Devs for the Eris. Don't be surprised of you see some good stuff coming from him for the DINC.

I really haven't run the nightlies here... (just got my Dinc this past weekend). But all I see are 7.0.3 which seems strange but no matter. The main reason I went CM for now is to get myself accustomed with the Inc and I'm used to CM from the Eris. This is CM7.1 and I'm using chad's kernel instead of CM. It seemed a little smoother to me for now. I also increased SD Card read/write speed as well as added the local.prop file to help with any LauncherPro fans. I personally like ADW EX but everything is a matter of opinion and preference. Another thing was change wifi scan intervals to help save a little on the battery and I'm still experimenting with a few other things but I probably won't have them nailed down before the next update seeing that RC1 has now been merged. I'll be updating this ROM sometime tomorrow at this point now lol.

How you been stang? Looks like you're doing pretty well over here . I'm gonna be checking that ROM out soon once I get things under way a little more. I'm planning to do a stripped version of this like I did for the Eris and I'm thinking I might do the Ghost Rider version of it as well. The Eris is still active too so I'll be bouncing back and forth from here to there alot lol.

Yea man we got some seriously sik devs over on the Inc man. I've been working fairly close with a couple of them newtoroot and joelZ9614. They've been really good at helping me get a start on my port.
But yea I definitely miss workshed and Tazzpatriot. Those guys are the reason I had the Eris so long.
And Conap, well Conap was the first dev ever to teach me anything about Android. That guy has been at it for a really long time.

CS does excellent work. those of us with an eris know this allready condemned cm7 is the smoothest and fastest rom my lil eris has ever run.

I have flashed the Kernel the day before yesterday, and got my battery charged to 100%, then un-plugged my charger.
About 34 hours after unplug the charger, with daily normal usage(several phone calls, some reading on web), there are still 38% power remain.

I would like to see a battery usage screenshot showing the "Display" use

Hi, I tried this kernel with CyanogenMod nightly 195, and I found the phone to be laggy as hell. Which ROM were you using?

I have this kernel (older version with owains tweak pack) on miui and my experience has been just wonderful. Excellent standby time, haven't felt my phone heat up even once, no bsod's. I found cm7 to be very laggy in the first place so I moved to miui and boy am I glad. On cm it felt like every new flash it got slower and I was worried it might break. On miui things are so simple, just install miui, reboot and install tweak pack(it includes kernel older version) and your done. Just two steps. If you guys like this kernel please add your feedback to the kernel's page here

i have this kernel on my cm7 (the nightly from today) clocked at 1.5 GHz and i get
#Quadrant Standart:
1st try: 3701 pts
2nd try: 4144 pts
3rd try: 4644 pts
4th try: 4639 pts
#AnTuTu Benchmark v2.4.2:
1st try: 7464 pts
2nd try: 7524 pts
After that i have restarted my phone, because it was getting really hot..
#Smartbench 2011 :
1st try: Failed! (Invalid results - at least one of the test dind't execute throug completely. Please try again.)
2nd test: Failed! (same as above)
3rd test: Failed! (again)
So i think its a very fast kernel !
Before this one, i have used the vorkkernel.. and this has got many bugs with 1.5ghz (e-peen), but this kernel (swiftextreme) is just Great !

Hi, I have no issues with CM7. The only reason I was interested in a different kernel was to see if I could get better battery life.
No matter, I will stick with CM7 & the kernel they provide. I found MIUI to be very beautiful, and very well thought out. But, it is an ANDROID version of Apple's iOS' look and feel, plus they imitate the iOS way of doing things.

If you love cm7 then you should know this kernel works for both miui and cm7. Just use it already, its a known fact that this kernel is the shiznit.

Hi, I have used it and found it to be laggy as "shiznit". In fact I tried it again last night, the low overclock version and my phone failed to boot.

Well you should post your findings in the kernel thread here. How else are we going to find what needs fixing ? I am on an optimus 2x and and the kernel is working almost 100% for me. If I had to guess I would say its because I'm on miui. I have a friend with an o2x with the kernel on cm7 and his experience is also not satisfactory.
I used to love cm7 and think miui is the ios look alike but after using it for few weeks I can tell you its not. I think most people are still thinking of the old miui with iphone icons(things have changed). I will not go deeper into that discussion because this is the page for kernel discussion. We are all entitled to enjoy the kernels and roms we like, but if you are experiencing issues the least you can do is alert the dev in the appropriate page. Please don't take it personally but there are many many cm7 users in the swift kernel thread who have posted their experiences and its opposite of what you are saying.

Why would I take your opinion personally? I'm glad many others have had no issues. Do you only want to hear from users with positive experiences?
If you can make some suggestions as to how best to provide technical feedback then please let me know, and I will be more than happy to do so.

Yes its not perfect. If it was development would stop right ?
I wanted to make sure I didn't come off as offensive, you will be surprised how many cm7 fanatics are out there who will start yelling the moment they hear miui. I didn't want to sound like im promoting miui but rather the kernel powering it. If you check the last few posts you will see there have been an increase in cm7 users of the kernel and they are reporting good results on the new nightlies.
I would like to point out that with miui I have not upgraded anything in over a month and its still going smooth. I see so many cm7 users with bsod and no boots and bootloops and so on with almost every version that came out they have issues whereas the miui users have barely said anything. I guess coz its works for us ?
I think the best way is to post in the kernel thread in the development area. The developer is regular there so if you have anything at all to add, features you want or fixes to current version etc. please post there. The dev is very friendly and him or someone cm7 user will help you find your match.

For all Porting discussions and requests hopefully they get answered. I think soon once a Dev knows what they are doing, this will be the case he will work with all the i9300 Rom Devs and work on porting them to I9305.

had hypergalaxy ported to my device... now trying to get the FC out... and trying to figure out abt the signal lost...

with so much debate of whether the I9305 supports fm radio I wonder if anyone has ported the I9300 radio app/firmware to settle the argument. not that i really care about fm radio lol...

AOSP would be a bit difficult for me, as I am not very good at working on AOSP materials however I will still investigate porting something like CM/MIUIv4 over when I got some time this weekend

Also, which part of the rom is it that is making things like the toggle switches big, green and ugly, and not a stock JB look of small and blue?

AOKP is a complete new set of material to work with - it requires custom kernel building and additional proprietary drivers, and fortunately samsung has provided I9305 as open source already; however, i am not familiar with kernel building on android, so I probably won't be working on CM based builds unless I can gain some more knowledge :\ Sorry.

Fm radio will not work if the kernel does not support it, and if the kernel that came with firmware which didnt have FM radio pre-installed then it wont be programmed to support it, Basically meaning no drivers. Mick.Wheels was working on compiling a kernel to support FM but he is now on holidays so gotta wait. This guy caled Weeeo was reveiwing a I9305 for his sponsor SamsungUK apparently, But I saw his video on youtube and it was showing the FM radio app , so i asked him if he could test it which he did and was working fine. so I am in the middle of asking him to create a nandroid for us to play with. He is currently waiting for a replacement phone as his screen was scratched. So will see what happens then when it returns. Exciting timessssss

That would be great. On one hand we have a dev that would try to compile the kernel from source - which means we could (in future) adding overclocking support, init.d support, amongst a few things.
On the unfortunate part is that, I've contacted gokhanmoral and confirmed that works on LTE model will not be done since there are not enough time nor the actual hardware. It would be great if someone can pickup the source from git and see if there are anything we can do to make a branch.

I was also looking into porting CM. But as of today I haven't found time to get a new build environment up and running. Maybe I'll look into it later today. As far as I saw it shouldn't be too hard to port CM from 9300... But on the other hand I have less experience with Samsung phones than with their TVs Anyway, if I get some progress you will be the first to know about it.

I have an i9300, and just stumbled onto this thread. If someone can give me a system dump there is a good chance I can compare both of them and see the differences between the i9300 and i9305. It shouldn't be too different, probably requiring some minor changes to get this working (the main difference here is only the radio to support LTE and the extra RAM)

If that is all the differences are, and the 9305 parts can be implemented into a 9300 rom, does that mean we could convert any custom 9300 rom into a 9305 rom? Or am I just dreaming?

Most of the time yes, because we just have to be careful about integrating the drivers for the modem. I'm not so sure about CM/AOKP roms since they have their own built drivers. I'm unfortunately not familiar with driver building so perhaps someone else can shed some light on this topic hopefully.

All things already done, try some launchers , battery life is good now, but , Google interface , still #1 for me . My friend buy an Razor i without MOTOBLUR and all of motorola things, the result : a ****ing awesome smooth phone. I dont know if its an interface gain or Jelly Bean gain, but is lighter, smoother and faster than all ive ever seen before.

Just wait for the JB update. Currently there is no way to completely remove the LG UI. If the unlocked bootloader comes with the update, there should be some AOSP roms shortly afterwards. Jelly Bean surely makes things a lot smoother due to the Butter improvements. But compared with other ICS phones our 4X is already quite smooth, and the LG UI seems to be a lot lighter than other manufacturer's modifications like TouchWiz or Sense.

Believe me ... Intel + motorola do an awesome work on their ROM , its lighter than iphone OS , serious ... JB AOSP is the lightest system ive ever see, im waiting JB like an child waits santa. Our 4x is much more powerful than Intel Atom on Razor i , our limitations are based on OS and UI 3.0 IMHO.

Motorola doesn't have AOSP as standard. If you look at their Motoblur it's also no "light" system. And I doubt that Intel is doing anything software-wise. sorry are you kidding me apart from nexus phones the LG optimus 3.0 skin is the lightest skin outthere by MILES sony samsung and definitely HTC have much heavyer skinns on ther phones.
the only phones with lighter skins are phones with stock android and those can be counted on 1 hand.

The 4x is a pretty fast phone. I actually run mine on 640 MHz and it is still fast. U can't really notice anything lagging. Well if u play games but then I just turn it up to 1500mhz

even on 1000 mhz it is fast enough to play shadowgun from tegrazone which only shows that current quad cores are more then fast enough for any app out there.

For the pure Google ui u either have to have a costume Rom or buy a nexus phone or tablet. That's just how it is.

I have removed current LG home screen app and using apex launcher..not because it ws not smooth because i needed more functions and i also got more free memory

I never said ANYTHING about the UI, I actually quite like it (other than than fact that you can't customise it enough). I simply offered the OP a suggestion to change the original UI that she doesn't like and to make the phone faster by removing apps.

To remove LG lock screen :-
1-Go to (/system/build.prop) and open it as a text file .
2-Go to line .
ro.lge.capp_lockscreen=true
And change it to :-
ro.lge.capp_lockscreen=false

Sorry my device is "Optimus 3D" and it doesn't have this problem , I thing it's because of resolution (my device 800 x 480) and yours is 1280 x 720 .

Overview
OmniROM is pretty close to AOSP, as the 4.4.4 era comes to a close I've decided to post it.
This build has nothing to do with Nobe1976.
It is not his build on Droidrzr forums and was built by me, from source. Although it is likely the same (assuming configs for our device haven't changed much the past year)

Just flashed this on my XT926 and the only issue ive had is when going into Settings>More>Mobile Networks>Carrier Settings The process com.android.phone force closes.

nice rom, works fairly well on my razr m. feels lighter than cyanogenmod and other 4.4.x roms.

A lot of people use my MIUI or other fork builds but don't really have the chance to use my source-builds which are almost always nearly 'perfect' (I don't usually post them)
Some compatibility takes a huge hit after I start chopping stuff to pieces so I just wanted to throw this up for people who are the opposite of the MIUI/Lewa/Whatever crowd and just want something as close to 'stock' android as possible.

Me too but my build configs are currently not working correctly for some devices.
It's kind of problematic on my end at this point because the past two builds of (pretty much) AOSP have resulted in failure for some unknown reason; even with supported configs.
At the same time to bring a close-to-AOSP ROM to this firmware I had to make a lot of changes in source; changes which may have caused breakage upon building for some devices so I've had to revert everything for this specific build which will probably set the process back a day or two.
But I don't want to sound over-important; the person heading v6 could have(and has) done this fully on their own power without issue and I am really contributing nothing except for build related stuff which isn't even essential It's just to save them time because a lot of time was saved in my life during v5.
It's like they say, someone does something for you and you do something for them if you can; a capacity I'm kind of failing in right now because a lot of the devices I'd like to see get hit with v6 do not have proper source bases

Maybe, I have to address JBBL right after I finished with the device I'm building for right now.
Like a true piece of scum I neglected the JBBL folks during v5 because I wasn't aware of the exacts surrounding it and frankly was too lazy/busy to produce it.
But from here out all of my builds will also accomodate JBBL now that I know how to deal with it.
I mean it's really like a friend of mine said; that it's better to release broken things at first because If you release something right the first time your topic won't have as many views and as much attention but I've always kind of been a black sheep with my preference for (nearly fully) functional first releases
Edit: I can do MIUIv5 for JBBL if people really still care about it but I'd rather focus on getting things ready for V6, and other projects I'm working on
It's really important that ANY errors with this code-base are brought to my attention , I really do not want to find out there is some inherent error in this when V6 is released It's really important that I do this right so I don't have to bother the developer of it to do yet another build on a rebase.
I feel like I've really annoyed people because I've had multiple peers/friends/co-workers/whatever download firmware that somehow 'wasn't right' this week

Do it. It's been awhile. And that miui phone overseas is killing em softly. I'm on jbbl now to start fresh but if you decide to put out v5 I'll try it. I am ecstatic about v6 to try out.. I will be trying the omni for now. I need a real stable ROM at the moment.

MIUI v6 is now nearly fully functioning on moto_msm8960 JBBL & KKBL, including V6 camera, scanner and all the other stuff you'd expect.
Unlike being a PatchROM build this is a direct adaptation from a Xiaomi device so there is a level of exclusivity here.
I really don't have the right to release this, It will be part of a friends multi-base thread; It'll show up at some point next month, hopefully.
I wanted to let people who are really anticipating being able to use V6 know that the codebase is finished; it does have all the features you'd expect on true stock MIUI that have never been ported (In this era):
- MIUI camera (Everything, including filters, panorama, fast&slow-motion recording mode...)
- MIUI Scanner (Everything)
- Nearly full native Xiaomi drivers (!)
- Everything, all features

Honestly I straight up lied.
MIUI v6 boots with full function except RIL- Because of the nature of this work all builds have been kept closed. I will check with the head of development and ask if beta may begin.
If anyone here feels strong in development and can address RIL both the KKBL and JBBL can have this firmware in the very forseeable future. It's because we use some kind of fked up Generic RIL and I'm not sure where to play Xiaomis invasive code because It's so different.
I do not even know how this device handles RIL in the 4.4 era, if anyone has an understanding of this please be in touch.
