Credits:
cyanogen of course for the source
Chad and tiny for the kernel
workshed, conap and gnarlyc for their help getting me started and answering all my questions
Bobcat331 and scotty85 for testing, contributing and instigating me.
CUViper and PonsAsinorem for the BlueTooth fix
The entire Eris community for their support and contributions along the way.
This is a modified and tweaked version of CM7. Features chad's Incredikernel with smartass v2. It also now uses ICS Roboto font.

Hey Condemned nice to see you over here on this side bro! I remember you from when I had the Eris.
EDIT: This guy was one of the best Devs for the Eris. Don't be surprised of you see some good stuff coming from him for the DINC.

I really haven't run the nightlies here... (just got my Dinc this past weekend). But all I see are 7.0.3 which seems strange but no matter. The main reason I went CM for now is to get myself accustomed with the Inc and I'm used to CM from the Eris. This is CM7.1 and I'm using chad's kernel instead of CM. It seemed a little smoother to me for now. I also increased SD Card read/write speed as well as added the local.prop file to help with any LauncherPro fans. I personally like ADW EX but everything is a matter of opinion and preference. Another thing was change wifi scan intervals to help save a little on the battery and I'm still experimenting with a few other things but I probably won't have them nailed down before the next update seeing that RC1 has now been merged. I'll be updating this ROM sometime tomorrow at this point now lol.

How you been stang? Looks like you're doing pretty well over here . I'm gonna be checking that ROM out soon once I get things under way a little more. I'm planning to do a stripped version of this like I did for the Eris and I'm thinking I might do the Ghost Rider version of it as well. The Eris is still active too so I'll be bouncing back and forth from here to there alot lol.
I'd hardly say one of the best but thanks for the boost I'm still pretty green and shed and conap have really taught me alot

Plenty of CM fans here and 7.1 for the Inc. is alive and well in this thread:

I guess my comment was taken the wrong way. I made the comment for all the haters getting ready to bash the rom. I for one applaud another developer joing the incredible force.

I guess it was mistaken then as I expect the bashing but like I said don't care lol. My apologies for mistaking your comment.

no offense taken.

Yea man we got some seriously sik devs over on the Inc man. I've been working fairly close with a couple of them newtoroot and joelZ9614. They've been really good at helping me get a start on my port.
But yea I definitely miss workshed and Tazzpatriot. Those guys are the reason I had the Eris so long.
And Conap, well Conap was the first dev ever to teach me anything about Android. That guy has been at it for a really long time.
Anyways, yea man check out pure speed and let me know whats up and I'll do the same.

Welcome! Always have some love for another CM-based dec. Especially one like yourself with experience and class (giving out credit where due)

Optimus G kernel or replaced with Nexus4 stock kernel? Flashing a Nexus4 specific kernel seems to be a greet idea.
We should only change the device specific parts of the rom to be fully working.

Awesome!!! When I was deciding what my next phone would be, it was between a nexus 4, an xperia z, and an optimus g....now I can see what I missed out on!
Great work...can't wait for a stable build
Note; When you boot the device it will do a media scan. It will be VERY slow and laggy for like 10-20 seconds.
The things that i find interesting are the wonderful lockscreen and the colors on the screen looks amazing, hope the devs here can put the Optimus G RGB and gamma values into their kernels.
Can't wait. I wonder if this rom will provide better battery life. LG has some tweaks in their software that's not part of stock android.

My generalization about lg's android experience in the past is they have no idea what they are doing with software(not that I do either) and battery life was horrific. Maybe they got better and more experienced dev teams together. We shall see. On the other hand the nexus 4 is a mighty fine experience:thumbup:
Does this rom have an optimus or a nexus kernel? If it's an Optimus one, maybe we can use some of the custom optimus kernels with it! Then we can really get some awesome stuff!
*edit*
I hadn't looked through their forums to see that they are still in development infancy stages Maybe our cooperation can be mutually beneficial!
I think we will need the Nexus 4 kernel for rild and Wifi but yeah lets experiment a little.

this is because (IMHO) LG are like Sony....they make some of the sexiest, best performing, highest quality hardware you can find for many different types of devices/electronics. However, they have absolutely no business making software & firmware.
Having said that, I do think they have a great deal of wonderful IDEAS that they implement into their electronics (especially android) but they are usually not polished well, and end up being unstable or just buggy as hell. I do love having those features pulled out and isolated, though, so I can have a monstrous selection of special features that were never intended to work together, though. And when they are, for example, android mods added on top of pure aosp, beautiful things happen, IMHO

that's my exact school of thought here, as well. I would think if the rom can be swapped out so easily, there's no reason why at least SOME of the kernels wouldn't work by default, as well.
I'm looking specifically at the aokp port for optimus...that's got to have a custom kernel, I would think...and it's most likely optimized for optimus (lol...say that 5 times fast )
Do you even think this will boot on a n4 kernel?
Would it be easier having a 4.2.2 ROM with the LG stuff added or what's your game plan? I'm very excited about this..

My goal is to get a fully working Optimus G rom. The Nexus 4 kernel doesnt boot with this rom, so I have to look at other options.
In theory with the correct radio/kernel combo, would this rom be capable of using DC HSPA +42? I guess a better question would be is the Optimus G capable of it?

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Some (not all) seem to experience issues with GPS. If you have issues with GPS, please flash the official JB from Moto/your provider and then flash Carbon. GPS should work now. (I've also heard you can just flash back to stock, get a lock, then flash Carbon again...)
While capturing a picture to send via MMS, ensure HDR is deselected - Gallery will cause a force close if HDR is enabled!! (Note - HDR works for normal still photos, just not MMS.)
Update Google Search (manual update), or else any voice searches will fail with FC. Update the app, and it is resolved.
Please use the provided gapps below. They are the official Google ones for 4.3.

Seconded on the BT audio. I don't have an aux hooked up in my car, and USB audio isn't a thing with this phone, so BT audio is how I listen to my music. Must have for me!

You guys are going to have to tell me... I don't have the device (see the OP), and thus I cannot test.
What I can tell you is my device (Photon Q) is the same SoC... so in theory it should work the same. BT audio streaming and GPS both work great here.
If you folks have run the CM10.1 build from epinter, the buglist there basically applies here.

Well, from what I've understood from other posts, the BT audio is dependent on the kernel, correct? And since we don't have an official 4.2 release, and thus no kernel, BT audio is dead right now. Would the Photon still be the same kernel?

Well a lot is dependent on the kernel. BT audio depends on many things, there are some aspects of the kernel that do depend on BT audio... the kernel is basically the interface between the OS and the hardware, so the kernel definitely touches a lot!
Perhaps I should make this more clear. If you have any issues with this CM10.1 ROM, then you will probably have the same issues with this ROM.
Again, I do not have an Atrix HD, I am only supporting this device because the SoC is identical to a moto device I do own... So help me out, run it, let me know what's wrong with it... and I can certainly try and fix it, but unfortunately without the device it won't be easy. I will do my best!

Thanks for the rom. Funny thing is I almost compiled this Sunday. I've seen that branch in the repos and was curious as to what it was. Gonna try it out later.
Also, thanks for the GPS tip. I was on ICS before I started playing with custom roms so I'll flash stock (ugh) and see if that helps. Probably later tonight, I just got up and need to see what needs to be done today. I don't play with my phones when crap might need to be done.

Yeah you have to fast boot all the ICS files from the sbf except of course the getvar and first line in the XML. That way you get all the proper drivers rolled back. Then flash the cwm recovery IMG in fast boot and boot to recovery and flash a custom ROM, usually after this it'll work at least with the xt925 ROMs.

So has this been beaten to a dead horse? Logs? Anyone made headway with it?
I've poked around a bit, but haven't put a ton of time into it yet. Any info will help shorten my task, thanks!
Running carbon right now. I lowered the CPU speed. Does the performance setting effectively control both cores? I ask because OCs make my device reboot. I'm in no need for the over clock. I recommend setting the default speed to stock speed for compatibility with options to over clock.
Update still getting the reboots. How can I provide error logs for you? FYI I am currently without any micro USB data cable.

It's been the most stable aosp rom I've used so far. Would still be running it if coverage was the same as tw. Seems like I roam a lot in places where I have great lte coverage. But the customization of Carbon is awesome.

I've been running a TW rom since I've got the phone, but have been leaning towards trying out a good AOSP rom (I used to run one on my old EVO 4G LTE daily). Is this in the condition to be a good daily driver?

I love this rom! The only issue is my reception for 3/4G. My wife has the HTC One stock, and at our apartment gets at least 3 bars, however mine on Carbon (latest nightly) only gets 1. Is there a known reception issue? Other than that, this is my favorite ROM by far. Any help would be appreciated!

This is the only cm 10 based rom that I have tried that has gps and google location services working simultaneously. It is fast and great on battery. The only minor issue I have is the lockscreen. None of the options seem to work, but I can live with it. I am running 20130720 daily.

Has anyone had an issue with their home button not working after flashing this rom? I have it on my other s4 but this one seems to be putting up a huge fight with me, from not even flashing to getting stuck on the boot animation etc. I tried using Apex Pro to assign the home button and still got nada. Any help or insight to this would be wildly appreciated- I need carbon on my daily driver AND my work phone. Its just the bees knees.

It's really a good rom.
But I'm facing a problem. The internal SD Card writing speed is only about 4MB/S
Is there anyone else facing this problem?
Will changing the default kernel help solving this?
Thanks
IDK but have you downloaded semaphore manager apk to ramp it up. Default is 512K but you can bump it up to 2048K within the app.
what aint working here?? Im sorry i ask but its important for me as i use this as a daily phone..
I tried this rom out shortly - I love PAC but I needed the extra ram. It was snappy, but it had some pretty big problems. First off I was getting battery drain and CPU maxing out when GPS was on, unlike Pac. Secondly (worst of all, which made me have to flash back), I kept finding the phone completely dead. I kept checking my BatteryStats and everything was more or less OK, so I was confused. Then on a day when I was using my phone more, I caught it rebooting into recovery mode randomly, with the screen on the whole time, so that must have been what was going on. It happened often enough that it was too unreliable for me to continue using. Maybe I'll try the stable when it's out, because it was pretty smooth. Please work on these two issues and you'll have a great rom!
So thanks for the completely useless post give me damn logs. Anyways you guys can consider this device EoL. I have 0 intentions to update sgs1 to 4.4

I never understood all the whining & complaining ... esp. when you consider 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 ... the evolution to "butter" smoothness on these ancient phones has been spectacular. SB & PRB are at the forefront of that. I know people (with other phone types) who don't even get to use anything past Gingerbread (due to stability and lack of official support). Just look at all the roms left for dead on CM's nightly page.
Thanks to the tremendous efforts of PRB, jrongi1, DT, FE, stratosk, and others (inc. their testers) ... it's been an absolute pleasure to continue using this phone. Definitely showing its age spec-wise, but the latest 4.3 builds have been silky silky smooth. SB 4.3 v1.4 was great for me, and I just noticed the new weekly was posted.
So, damn ... just wanted to say "THANK YOU" to PRB for all the work put into maintaining this device. Whether EoL happens or not for SB's Vibrant fate, I'm stoked that at least jrongi1 is willing to carry the flag. PRB, man, seriously, thanks brother for all you do. Ignore the whiners 'cuz that stuff is unfortunately inevitable in this massive XDA expanse.
Rom problem it's effing random and logs don't show much...

I'm wondering if this might be an issue with the kernel or not but I've been getting quite a few soft (dirty) reboots. (I'm using GearKernel 1.0.9v2sv, by the way.) When I perform any action relating to file management (installing/uninstalling APKs, moving apps to SD card, enabling USB mass storage, etc.) it goes into a soft reboot. It might be because of the scheduler (sioplus) GearKernel might be using or that I'm overclocking up to 1200 MHz. I'm asking if this might be an issue with the ROM itself or if it occurs on any other ROM. I'll pull you a logcat when I experiment a bit more ...

I haven't had much luck with GearKernel on Slim. The one freak time I was able to use it (without losing IMEI) was flashing 1.0.8sv right after restoring an SB 7.8 nandroid. It was actually the smoothest kernel I've used at stock speeds (ondemand, sioplus) ... but terribly unstable at 1200-1400 Mhz. When OC'd, the phone would inevitably soft reboot, as you mentioned. Mackay Kernel 0.335 was more stable on SB 7.8 (than GearKernel), and it would allow gaming at 1400 MHz. However, Mackay also would eventually soft reboot at 1200-1400 MHz (tho it lasted a bit longer than GearKernel) ... and then would end up losing IMEI at random times. Even Semaphore would soft reboot at 1200 Live OC, though it would last much longer than either GearKernel of Mackay. Mackay's 1400 MHz is the fastest I've ever experienced on my Vibe ... but the fun only lasts until the next soft reboot. Lol. :crying:
I've tried GearKernel 1.0.9v2sv on 7.8, 8.0, and 4.3 v1.4 ... but I'd lose IMEI/APN/Baseband every fricken time I flashed that thing. No method would ever bring the damn thing back - ie. pull SIM / reboot / reinsert SIM, wipe init.d, and even manually restoring a backed up efs folder.
I've got a smooth 4.3 v1.6 running now, so I'm not even gonna touch it. Semaphore runs very smooth on 1.6. Maybe bring up the issue in Alberto's thread. He may have more insight for you. Good luck.

It soft rebooted because your device can't handle that high of an oc. For example some people can not over clock at all some can hit 1.2ghz a few can hit 1.4-1.7

I don't appreciate the hostile reply. The rom was unstable enough that I just flashed back before I got any logs, and I figured any issue that severe would have already cropped up. I hope I didn't seem ungrateful about your work, just stating the fact, that right now for me it was too unstable to run. I understand that it's a nightly, and I was just testing it out.
Anyway, it's a moot point because it sounds like you're not going to maintain it anyway, so I'm not sure why you'd even be asking for logs.
Fact? Fact is runs fine on my captivate, or as fine as it can on it. Without logs it's just wasting keystrokes. I asked for logs because I'm still maintaining it. I said I won't be for next aosp version. Guys it's impossible to say how a rom/kernel set ups react on each separate device so if crap breaks and you actually want to help the community provide explicit instructions how to reproduce any problem with logs and screenshots if applicable. Else man don't bother.
Cheers

@prbassplayer thank you for your hard work on maintaining our phone and keeping it alive for so long. I am sad to hear that you won't be maintaining it for the next major update. Is that a for sure thing, or is it just a likely thing depending on how our phone continues to run?

Its already lagfest (yes it is use a newer phone and you will see the difference), doubt a new aosp version will help. And time man. I'm maintaining 3 SGS1 devices, Skyrocket, Hercules, 3 t0lte devices and I spend a lot of time working on mako kernel as its the device I actually own and use as dd.
BrianXP7 said:
So, the latest weekly build was a huge improvement over the first. No more soft reboots! (It could be GearKernel's problem. I'm not so sure.) Everything works great and performance is balanced quite nicely. The only issue I have is the back button often doesn't quit a running app but it works with going back a "page". The other capacitive keys are fine, though. I usually resort to using the Home button to quit instead.

Get the semaphore manager from play store as slim uses the kernel it can help with some of the lag. But as prb said the Vibrant is not a speedy device as much as I use my N4 it can seem like forever doing things on the Vibrant.

[ROM][5.1.1][Official] CyanogenMod 12.1

@stargo ported CM12 to the OMAP4-common family of devices a few months ago and it has finally hit official status!
Downloads:
Official CM builds
PA Gapps
Stargo's builds (old and unofficial)
ddggttff3's unofficial cm12.1 builds
Installation:
You need to install the NEW SafeStrap with SELINUX support which can be found here. There is a README saying how to use and install the safestrap.
Upgrading:
Nuke system and caches and flash. If you have constant force closures when rebooting then you need to wipe data because there is a lot of changes being made since CM12 is still in early development.
Credits:
@stargo for porting CM12 and maintaining OMAP4 repos with @alteredlikeness
@Hashcode and @dhacker29 for all of their amazing work for OMAP4
Bugs:
Excessive CPU use and general lags here and there.
The easter egg is broke so it's impossible to get points.
Probably other things.
I'm using this as a daily and it's honestly not that bad.
Extras:
If you want to enable nav bar you must add a line to build.prop and save it then reboot. A 0=nav bar while a 1=no nav bar. This line will be baked into my builds for convenience sake.
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
#########################
For stargo builds:
A temporary patch for working LTE:
Flash this and use voice dialer (it's a preinstalled apk) and say "open APNs" and select "VZWINTERNET" and hit home. This needs to be done on each boot and can be quirky but it's a workaround. I'll try to permanently fix this but no promises.
^this APN zip is complements of @tonyt.
#########################
Be sure that before reporting any bugs that you perform a CLEAN install on a fresh ROM slot and that you pull a logcat and paste it to pastebin so that we don't clog the thread with useless repetitive bug reports and long logcats that take up half the page. Thanks.
I've recently upgraded my phone and still have my bionic lying around. I'm more than happy to flash and test for people. I won't be able to test data, but can help with anything else. Thanks for the thread!

Sounds good bud. Cm12 has its hangups but if you keep recents/RAM clean it runs great. Everything works other than torch. APNs are a bit screwy and need to be reapplied on each boot. I just got home from Christmas out of state so give me a lil while to unpack and if I don't fall asleep I'll update the OP [emoji14]

Wasn't stargo the one who's shipping builds? I have cm12 source in my trash bin so I could always bring that back and sync up to date and use his local manifest to ship builds. My dev box gets about 2hr clean build times. I'm no wizard dev or anything most the ROMs I do are ports using existing device trees or post build unpacking/repacking zip kangs.

@stargo is maintaining the builds from my understanding, but @gabhroo123 was just building from source to capture the latest changes and firing off builds while stargo was in hiatus. If you are able to crank out a build, that would be cool. I was just curious to see what the latest changes were

No I'm gonna link PA gapps because it gives you options. Btw my CM12 source is 29.1GB so it's taking forever to get out of the trash
Edit:
I updated OP and will start building in a bit
It took me a few to realize that I forgot to update my build environment for lollipop....building now though. I can clean build kitkat ROMs in about 2 hours bit with lollipop being so freaking big it may take longer. Regardless, keep an eye out for stargo builds or keep checking my gdrive folder for my builds.
Major thanks to @stargo !!!!

Not really....there's random guides everywhere but not a good beginning to end especially for LP. Most tell you how to setup build environment but after that you're on your own lol battling errors etc...what's your specs? Mine builds good but I need a RAM upgrade haha I always see folks with donate buttons so figured "screw it" and added one of my own for that purpose xD

Most tell you how to setup build environment but after that you're on your own lol battling errors etc...what's your specs? Mine builds good but I need a RAM upgrade haha I always see folks with donate buttons so figured "screw it" and added one of my own for that purpose xD

Buddy:
Thanks so much for your build, it keeps my XT875 alive,
I just want to report you that I flashed rom for cm-12-20141223-UNOFFICIAL-targa.zip , overall it is good, just some lag and battery life normally.
The most important is I can not get LTE DATA on Verizon network, it tells me I am staying on Verizon Wireless, but I could not get connected to LTE DATA
Are you going to fix it or you know something about this?
Thanks and really appreciate your work!

Sorry guys for the delay was out with the family but i just ran make clean and i'm doing a complete fresh build that will take a few hours. I'll post when it finishes. If it fails then that means I will have to trash the entire repo and repo init and sync all 30gb again :/ cross your fingers lol

I have an old Dell Latitude, but it is running Ubuntu 14.10. It is a little slow at times, and I can't stream video very well because of how slow it is. But, it gets the job done.
