[ROM][5.1.1][Official] CyanogenMod 12.1 - Motorola Droid Bionic

@stargo ported CM12 to the OMAP4-common family of devices a few months ago and it has finally hit official status!
Downloads:
Official CM builds
PA Gapps
Stargo's builds (old and unofficial)
ddggttff3's unofficial cm12.1 builds
Installation:
You need to install the NEW SafeStrap with SELINUX support which can be found here. There is a README saying how to use and install the safestrap.
Upgrading:
Nuke system and caches and flash. If you have constant force closures when rebooting then you need to wipe data because there is a lot of changes being made since CM12 is still in early development.
Credits:
@stargo for porting CM12 and maintaining OMAP4 repos with @alteredlikeness
@Hashcode and @dhacker29 for all of their amazing work for OMAP4

Bugs:
Excessive CPU use and general lags here and there.
The easter egg is broke so it's impossible to get points.
Probably other things.
I'm using this as a daily and it's honestly not that bad.

Extras:
If you want to enable nav bar you must add a line to build.prop and save it then reboot. A 0=nav bar while a 1=no nav bar. This line will be baked into my builds for convenience sake.
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

For stargo builds:
A temporary patch for working LTE:
Flash this and use voice dialer (it's a preinstalled apk) and say "open APNs" and select "VZWINTERNET" and hit home. This needs to be done on each boot and can be quirky but it's a workaround. I'll try to permanently fix this but no promises.
^this APN zip is complements of @tonyt.
#########################
Be sure that before reporting any bugs that you perform a CLEAN install on a fresh ROM slot and that you pull a logcat and paste it to pastebin so that we don't clog the thread with useless repetitive bug reports and long logcats that take up half the page. Thanks.

I've recently upgraded my phone and still have my bionic lying around. I'm more than happy to flash and test for people. I won't be able to test data, but can help with anything else. Thanks for the thread!

Sounds good bud. Cm12 has its hangups but if you keep recents/RAM clean it runs great. Everything works other than torch. APNs are a bit screwy and need to be reapplied on each boot. I just got home from Christmas out of state so give me a lil while to unpack and if I don't fall asleep I'll update the OP [emoji14]

I heard there were some pretty significant changes to CM12 over the past week. @gabhroo123 is there any chance you could fire off a new build for targa?

Wasn't stargo the one who's shipping builds? I have cm12 source in my trash bin so I could always bring that back and sync up to date and use his local manifest to ship builds. My dev box gets about 2hr clean build times. I'm no wizard dev or anything most the ROMs I do are ports using existing device trees or post build unpacking/repacking zip kangs.

@stargo is maintaining the builds from my understanding, but @gabhroo123 was just building from source to capture the latest changes and firing off builds while stargo was in hiatus. If you are able to crank out a build, that would be cool. I was just curious to see what the latest changes were

Right on then lol I'll sync up again in a few hours cuz I'm in town and try to ship out a build. Like I said, I have most of the cm12 repo in my trash so it won't take that long plus I have good internet [emoji14] I'll be able to debug a bit but don't expect any magical fixes if stuff breaks and stargo doesn't get to it first

No I'm gonna link PA gapps because it gives you options. Btw my CM12 source is 29.1GB so it's taking forever to get out of the trash
Edit:
I updated OP and will start building in a bit

It took me a few to realize that I forgot to update my build environment for lollipop....building now though. I can clean build kitkat ROMs in about 2 hours bit with lollipop being so freaking big it may take longer. Regardless, keep an eye out for stargo builds or keep checking my gdrive folder for my builds.
Major thanks to @stargo !!!!

Not really....there's random guides everywhere but not a good beginning to end especially for LP. Most tell you how to setup build environment but after that you're on your own lol battling errors etc...what's your specs? Mine builds good but I need a RAM upgrade haha I always see folks with donate buttons so figured "screw it" and added one of my own for that purpose xD

Buddy:
Thanks so much for your build, it keeps my XT875 alive,
I just want to report you that I flashed rom for cm-12-20141223-UNOFFICIAL-targa.zip , overall it is good, just some lag and battery life normally.
The most important is I can not get LTE DATA on Verizon network, it tells me I am staying on Verizon Wireless, but I could not get connected to LTE DATA
Are you going to fix it or you know something about this?
Thanks and really appreciate your work!

Sorry guys for the delay was out with the family but i just ran make clean and i'm doing a complete fresh build that will take a few hours. I'll post when it finishes. If it fails then that means I will have to trash the entire repo and repo init and sync all 30gb again :/ cross your fingers lol

I have an old Dell Latitude, but it is running Ubuntu 14.10. It is a little slow at times, and I can't stream video very well because of how slow it is. But, it gets the job done.

Hey Condemned nice to see you over here on this side bro! I remember you from when I had the Eris.

I really haven't run the nightlies here... (just got my Dinc this past weekend). But all I see are 7.0.3 which seems strange but no matter. The main reason I went CM for now is to get myself accustomed with the Inc and I'm used to CM from the Eris. This is CM7.1 and I'm using chad's kernel instead of CM. It seemed a little smoother to me for now. I also increased SD Card read/write speed as well as added the local.prop file to help with any LauncherPro fans. I personally like ADW EX but everything is a matter of opinion and preference. Another thing was change wifi scan intervals to help save a little on the battery and I'm still experimenting with a few other things but I probably won't have them nailed down before the next update seeing that RC1 has now been merged. I'll be updating this ROM sometime tomorrow at this point now lol.

How you been stang? Looks like you're doing pretty well over here . I'm gonna be checking that ROM out soon once I get things under way a little more. I'm planning to do a stripped version of this like I did for the Eris and I'm thinking I might do the Ghost Rider version of it as well. The Eris is still active too so I'll be bouncing back and forth from here to there alot lol.
I'd hardly say one of the best but thanks for the boost I'm still pretty green and shed and conap have really taught me alot

Plenty of CM fans here and 7.1 for the Inc. is alive and well in this thread:

I guess my comment was taken the wrong way. I made the comment for all the haters getting ready to bash the rom. I for one applaud another developer joing the incredible force.

no offense taken.
Yea man we got some seriously sik devs over on the Inc man. I've been working fairly close with a couple of them newtoroot and joelZ9614. They've been really good at helping me get a start on my port.
But yea I definitely miss workshed and Tazzpatriot. Those guys are the reason I had the Eris so long.
And Conap, well Conap was the first dev ever to teach me anything about Android. That guy has been at it for a really long time.
Anyways, yea man check out pure speed and let me know whats up and I'll do the same.
Welcome! Always have some love for another CM-based dec. Especially one like yourself with experience and class (giving out credit where due)

First, do a factory reset - you shouldn't have any saved networks when you start. The first rule of flashing new roms is clean, clean, clean before you wipe. 80% of all problems I see when flashing are caused by dirty flashes. After you install this ROM, once it's stabilized, then you can think about wiping only dalvik and cache before flashing.

yeah that is what i did, i wiped everything, after i set it up i added my home network, then when at my office i added office network, i still really like the ROM and the wifi thing is not really an issue to me
I've been running XenonHD for the past five days. Mostly, it's excellent -- stable, smooth and fast as claimed. But I'm having persistent problems with signal strength and with data speeds. It's not that I can't GET data, it's that my signal strength is measurably less now than it was with a stock ROM in places where I know how strong my signal should be, I almost never get an indication that I'm connecting at 4G speeds even in places where I used to maintain 4G and my data reception is spotty to the point that web sites and Play Store come back "no signal" now in places where they never did before. From these comparisons I believe I know that the issue ISN'T that my connection is the same but the indicators are different but rather that my connections (reception, data speed, 3G vs 4G) are worse than they were.
I'm running the latest version of XenonHD on my Verizon XT926 and I wiped everything completely before installation. My installation went very smoothly. I don't have video recorder and I can't tether but both of those shortcomings were known before I flashed the ROM. My data signal strength problems are bad enough that, if I can't improve my situation, I may look for another ROM.
Are there settings in the ROM that could improve my data speed and connectivity? Is there a patch or an app that will at least get me back to the level of connection performance that I had on stock? If so, I'll be happy to use XenonHD as my DD.

Okay, here's a stupid question.
On the download page, what is the code name for the Motorola Razr HD? I know Maguro is for the Nexus...but which one is the proper download for my 925??

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Some (not all) seem to experience issues with GPS. If you have issues with GPS, please flash the official JB from Moto/your provider and then flash Carbon. GPS should work now. (I've also heard you can just flash back to stock, get a lock, then flash Carbon again...)
While capturing a picture to send via MMS, ensure HDR is deselected - Gallery will cause a force close if HDR is enabled!! (Note - HDR works for normal still photos, just not MMS.)
Update Google Search (manual update), or else any voice searches will fail with FC. Update the app, and it is resolved.
Please use the provided gapps below. They are the official Google ones for 4.3.

Seconded on the BT audio. I don't have an aux hooked up in my car, and USB audio isn't a thing with this phone, so BT audio is how I listen to my music. Must have for me!
This ROM looks pretty nice though! Can't wait to give it a try!

You guys are going to have to tell me... I don't have the device (see the OP), and thus I cannot test.
What I can tell you is my device (Photon Q) is the same SoC... so in theory it should work the same. BT audio streaming and GPS both work great here.
If you folks have run the CM10.1 build from epinter, the buglist there basically applies here.

Well, from what I've understood from other posts, the BT audio is dependent on the kernel, correct? And since we don't have an official 4.2 release, and thus no kernel, BT audio is dead right now. Would the Photon still be the same kernel?

Well a lot is dependent on the kernel. BT audio depends on many things, there are some aspects of the kernel that do depend on BT audio... the kernel is basically the interface between the OS and the hardware, so the kernel definitely touches a lot!
Perhaps I should make this more clear. If you have any issues with this CM10.1 ROM, then you will probably have the same issues with this ROM.
Again, I do not have an Atrix HD, I am only supporting this device because the SoC is identical to a moto device I do own... So help me out, run it, let me know what's wrong with it... and I can certainly try and fix it, but unfortunately without the device it won't be easy. I will do my best!

Thank you for the explanation! It's pretty late tonight, but I'll try to flash this tomorrow and let you know what's working and not working for me!
Thanks for the rom. Funny thing is I almost compiled this Sunday. I've seen that branch in the repos and was curious as to what it was. Gonna try it out later.
Also, thanks for the GPS tip. I was on ICS before I started playing with custom roms so I'll flash stock (ugh) and see if that helps. Probably later tonight, I just got up and need to see what needs to be done today. I don't play with my phones when crap might need to be done.

Yeah you have to fast boot all the ICS files from the sbf except of course the getvar and first line in the XML. That way you get all the proper drivers rolled back. Then flash the cwm recovery IMG in fast boot and boot to recovery and flash a custom ROM, usually after this it'll work at least with the xt925 ROMs.

So has this been beaten to a dead horse? Logs? Anyone made headway with it?
I've poked around a bit, but haven't put a ton of time into it yet. Any info will help shorten my task, thanks!
Running carbon right now. I lowered the CPU speed. Does the performance setting effectively control both cores? I ask because OCs make my device reboot. I'm in no need for the over clock. I recommend setting the default speed to stock speed for compatibility with options to over clock.
Update still getting the reboots. How can I provide error logs for you? FYI I am currently without any micro USB data cable.

Overview
OmniROM is pretty close to AOSP, as the 4.4.4 era comes to a close I've decided to post it.
This build has nothing to do with Nobe1976.
It is not his build on Droidrzr forums and was built by me, from source. Although it is likely the same (assuming configs for our device haven't changed much the past year)

Yes JJBL people, I will build for you, but I need someone to test so OmniROM aside; IF JBBL people want these firmware I will need a tester :<
Just flashed this on my XT926 and the only issue ive had is when going into Settings>More>Mobile Networks>Carrier Settings The process com.android.phone force closes.
nice rom, works fairly well on my razr m. feels lighter than cyanogenmod and other 4.4.x roms.
lol
Do you know about Lollipop? lol
Working really great on my XT925.. I love OmniRom.. Thanks @Tqr
The fact that this base appeared here means MIUI v6 comes soon
Edit: I'm NOT heading MIUI v6 I am only working as an assistant this is not my era to shine; with that being said if I can't get a JBBL volunteer It's not likely JBBL people will get MIUI v6

A lot of people use my MIUI or other fork builds but don't really have the chance to use my source-builds which are almost always nearly 'perfect' (I don't usually post them)
Some compatibility takes a huge hit after I start chopping stuff to pieces so I just wanted to throw this up for people who are the opposite of the MIUI/Lewa/Whatever crowd and just want something as close to 'stock' android as possible.

Me too but my build configs are currently not working correctly for some devices.
It's kind of problematic on my end at this point because the past two builds of (pretty much) AOSP have resulted in failure for some unknown reason; even with supported configs.
At the same time to bring a close-to-AOSP ROM to this firmware I had to make a lot of changes in source; changes which may have caused breakage upon building for some devices so I've had to revert everything for this specific build which will probably set the process back a day or two.
But I don't want to sound over-important; the person heading v6 could have(and has) done this fully on their own power without issue and I am really contributing nothing except for build related stuff which isn't even essential It's just to save them time because a lot of time was saved in my life during v5.
It's like they say, someone does something for you and you do something for them if you can; a capacity I'm kind of failing in right now because a lot of the devices I'd like to see get hit with v6 do not have proper source bases
Thanks, very smooth... can you add HDR feature?

Maybe, I have to address JBBL right after I finished with the device I'm building for right now.
Like a true piece of scum I neglected the JBBL folks during v5 because I wasn't aware of the exacts surrounding it and frankly was too lazy/busy to produce it.
But from here out all of my builds will also accomodate JBBL now that I know how to deal with it.
I mean it's really like a friend of mine said; that it's better to release broken things at first because If you release something right the first time your topic won't have as many views and as much attention but I've always kind of been a black sheep with my preference for (nearly fully) functional first releases
Edit: I can do MIUIv5 for JBBL if people really still care about it but I'd rather focus on getting things ready for V6, and other projects I'm working on
It's really important that ANY errors with this code-base are brought to my attention , I really do not want to find out there is some inherent error in this when V6 is released It's really important that I do this right so I don't have to bother the developer of it to do yet another build on a rebase.
I feel like I've really annoyed people because I've had multiple peers/friends/co-workers/whatever download firmware that somehow 'wasn't right' this week
Do it. It's been awhile. And that miui phone overseas is killing em softly. I'm on jbbl now to start fresh but if you decide to put out v5 I'll try it. I am ecstatic about v6 to try out.. I will be trying the omni for now. I need a real stable ROM at the moment.

MIUI v6 is now nearly fully functioning on moto_msm8960 JBBL & KKBL, including V6 camera, scanner and all the other stuff you'd expect.
Unlike being a PatchROM build this is a direct adaptation from a Xiaomi device so there is a level of exclusivity here.
I really don't have the right to release this, It will be part of a friends multi-base thread; It'll show up at some point next month, hopefully.
I wanted to let people who are really anticipating being able to use V6 know that the codebase is finished; it does have all the features you'd expect on true stock MIUI that have never been ported (In this era):
- MIUI camera (Everything, including filters, panorama, fast&slow-motion recording mode...)
- MIUI Scanner (Everything)
- Nearly full native Xiaomi drivers (!)
- Everything, all features

Honestly I straight up lied.
MIUI v6 boots with full function except RIL- Because of the nature of this work all builds have been kept closed. I will check with the head of development and ask if beta may begin.
If anyone here feels strong in development and can address RIL both the KKBL and JBBL can have this firmware in the very forseeable future. It's because we use some kind of fked up Generic RIL and I'm not sure where to play Xiaomis invasive code because It's so different.
I do not even know how this device handles RIL in the 4.4 era, if anyone has an understanding of this please be in touch.

Let me be 1st....
It's great to see someone taking the initiative to learn and develop kernels for both variants.
I had no doubt that it would be you to take over the kernel development here. I'm pleased that my kernel guide helped you in achieving success.
This is just the beginning......
Welcome
Absolutely agree with The Sickness!
It is so great to see people who actually want to learn, learn!
This is NEVER an easy task, especially with our day to day lives and real world duties always getting in the way, but for a few truly dedicated that do this for their own knowledge and power so that can DO things and not be told what they can do or have their phones do, they take the many, many, many ok one more, many hours of reading to finally get a chance to try something on their own and to hopefully with great success!
Then to bring that new found knowledge from the countless hours and share with the rest of us here!
That is why just a little appreciation goes a long way.
For even a simple rom mod, by which a Kernel build is not even in the same category, but a simple mod which for myself or the sickness may now only take me a few minutes to complete, doesn't take in to account the knowledge we gained from the days, months and even years to gain.
So let's welcome our newest Android Developer @Maqical with the help of the recently retired (we'll see lol, but best of luck with your future endeavors!) and mentor @The Sickness who has brought to us all countless roms, mods, guides, support and now kernels!
So for anyone wondering what's the point of hitting the thanks button or simply giving a little feedback when we ask, this is what keeps us going because we don't have to share, we d9nt have to add the mod or update that project or make it compatible for your device, it already works fine in our phones and I don't use that mod or why that what?
We do it because we are simply giving back to the community that gave us so much!
So hit the thanks, mention our projects and share with others what we have shared to you for free!
Thanks.
I will probably be editing this 9nce I read it later when I'm not sleep posting. Lol
Congrats and good luck fill8ng those boots! You know I love ya Chris and miss your presence here! What's this about N7?...

Note 7........I'll leave a no comment on that lol.
Just wanna drop in to wish you luck and say Congrats. As i said before...it would be you to fill them shoes. Always around if you need help, you know where i be.

Heres what Im going to do.. tomorrow ill rewrite my op.. make it neater, maybe try and find a nice graphic design (feel free to make me one)
I'm going to split these up into two, yes two
FrostFang Series will be barebone stock kernel with min but necessary features added
Firestorm Series will be full out highly custom kernel with everything you could ask for.. literally ask for more I'll add it
I'll leave the links up for now, but it's 4:45am.. going to get some rest
Tomorrow ill rebuild the stock series and rename it Frostfang and get it all posted together, if anyone wants anything added or would like to see anything this is the time before I get back to work in a few hours
Hope everyone enjoys and thanks for the kind words everyone so far
Well Damn congrats I know you going to make some Magic on this kernel!

Thanks for your help in keeping our phones going @magical. I can't wait to try your Kernel out. I will report back. Thanks again
@Maqical I see you finally did it good job and good luck keep up the good work :good: glad to see everything is going well so far
@Maqical thanks for keeping on the development of the custom kernels for both variants.
@magical thanks for this kernel. I flashed the CustomV1 flat first issue I had was deep sleep. I just used the deep sleep flashable zip and and cleared Google service framework data cache it took care of the issue. 2nd and last issue was very odd after flashing the kernel it wouldnt auto connect me back to my wifi network after checking the wifi setting showed an authentication error after i re updated the password has worked fine ever since and it's Very very stable. thank you for the additional support unfortunately I don't have computer or laptop to do developemnt. Otherwise this s6 would have more a few more ports and kernels
