So as the title said, can anyone give me an answer.... Would flashing other region ftf change your phone region ? Like if I bought the phone from Malaysia, but I flash the firmware that is for Vietnam's market, will my phone region become Vietnam, and if Vietnam's market gets the update sooner, my phone, which originally is Malaysia, will get the update along with Vietnam market ?
yes
Thank you very much, a word says for all.
Edit: Can you please give me customization version of Vietnam ?
There is a sticky thread called All in one in Q&A section, you can find generic ftfs from different regions in that thread.

Hey, my n7000 is shows germany in region, and now its on 2.3.6. i'm from israel and like to know if i should change the region for updates? is there a international region?
b.t.w the phone is simfree
If you want OTA or updates over Kies you need to install the proper Rom for your country.
You can find here

iirc, german models were one of the fastest to get updates.
more importantly, tell us which version your device is currently running. if its already on the latest version then its pointless to waste time swapping regions and wiping your device.
its the latest for now
android 2.3.6
baseband xxlb2
kernel xxlc1

When official JB came out I flashed euro open firmware (V20a). My stock software was 10c, but I don't know for which country. Now I want to rollback to official ICS.
How can I find which version I had?
Just use the one for your country.

I bought phone on black market, it's smuggled from somewhere in Asia, but I don't know from which country
Paste this URL into your browser and add your IMEI at the end (after "?esn="):
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=
The returned text will tell you the URL of the latest firmware for your phone. In my case, this is ACWTBK/V20b. The 3 letters after the first A (CWT for this example) tell you the country/carrier - you can see the full list of available firmware, including older versions, for each of these combinations here:
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=15
This method works, it was from Singapore (how this phone ended in Serbia I honestly don't know)
Thanks!
Hi
I was hoping someone could help. This is driving me absolutely crazy.
I am currently running Cyanogenmod so Sony Mobile Update Server and Sony Mobile Companion completely refuse to play ball what so ever. They do not even attempt to connect out to their servers.
I really want one of the following FTF files:
Code:
O2 Pay monthly UK 1270-4993 10.3.1.A.0.244 R9B 10.3.A.0.423 R8B
United Kingdom Vodafone UK 1270-9110 10.3.1.A.0.244 R7B 10.3.A.0.423 R7B
This is just so I can update the baseband and NFC firmware
Tried googling for 2 hours and found nothing except German and Dutch FTFs.
Any help would be really appreciated....
Thanks
Just use any of the generic unbranded 244 FTF files posted in this section. All of the firmware versions have the same system files, baseband etc. no matter which region they are from.

If no one has a link to either of these I will flash my phone to stock, re-load bootloader and then run the upgrade, capture the FTF, re-unlock bootloader and then apply FTF then latest Cyanogenmod...
I will also post my FTF in General section.
But if someone has already done this it would save me a very late night

Ah ok... fair enough. Well its mainly just the BB and NFC firmware I'm after anyway.
Out of interest, what is the difference between the different regions??

Mainly just different bundled apps, I believe. All of the core system components, the kernel, baseband etc are the same for all releases of 244.

Have a look on the Sammobile site. Just search for your device and you will see a list of available firmware.
Flash with Odin. There is a great guide to doing this in the S3 mini general forum.

Thanks for the answer.
The problem is that if I put in SamMobile the CSC number, it offers me the same firm that I have already now.
I want to know if I can flash it with an stock samsung firmware, withouth any provider
My understanding is that if you search for your specific model (I1890 or I1890N or I1890L for instance) you will get a long list of firmwares you could use. Probably several of these will be for your country. Any one of these would be suitable for you to use.
I'm no expert though so perhaps someone could confirm this?

The problem is that in Sammobile I find firmwares with operators or providers.
I want one Stock samsung firmware, like if I bought it unlocked.
Is that possible ?

GT-I8190N Galaxy S III Mini NFC
PDA: I8190NXXAMJ2
CSC: I8190NBTUAMJ1
MODEM: I8190NXXAMJ2
Added: 2013-11-13
It is the latest S3 Mini firmware for the NFC version.

Hello people. I wanted to ask if anyone has the latest FTF for GR, unbranded. Reason why the other firmwares wont really help is i often have to write with Greek characters. The firmware i am currently using thinks of them as special characters, so limits my messages from 160 characters to 70. Please help, or if you cannot find the right FTF pm me with the way to remove the limit. Thank you in advance!
(PS. Sorry if someone has asked smthing like this, i searched but did not find anything)

Try using Central Europe firmware. It has no limitation to special characters.

Thank you for the reply!I can only find up to the .108 version. Has the .133 been released in central EU?
Use the XperiFirm software to check for and download the latest firmware version:

See this guide for how to convert the downloaded file to FTF format:

The .133 version is only for Branded phones (Vodafone, t-mobile and etc.). The lastest unbranded version is .108, so you should get that.
