[Q] Battery life...evil's NXsense 1.26

Hi!
I have install this rom to my Nexusone but the battery runs out in less than 24h.
What can be the answer? On Gigerbread v.20, I can stay up to 4 day with it.
Is the Kernel involved? If so, what kernel is the best battery saving?
Thank for your help.
Louis
I'm not sure what the problem is but I like to blame the applications running in the background. I close them with advanced task killer but they reappear out of nowhere. I have NXSense HD 1.1 beta (just test it till back to MIUI )
You waste your and phone's power trying to close the apps. Using task killer for any reason besides closing a misbehaving app is wrong, and wastes more battery than it saves.
Sense launcher (Rosie) autostarts several apps, and keeps them in memory. It doesn't draw CPU power, as long as you're not killing them.
Yes, I think that the problem rely on task in background or modified Kelnel... Overcloking maybe? Don't know...problem is that I love this rom and all of his fonctionality.
Other advice?
Louis
Look at the battery meter before you charge the phone, see what drained the battery.
Ok, after restoring my backup, I remove the live wallpaper and this problem was gone. Don't know why, but the battery stop to discharge. I will test further, but thank for your help.

[Q] Background Apps and Battery Drain

Hi,
I have noticed on my SGS that there are always 10-12 background apps that are running... Although I have Advanced Task Killer installed... And also there is significant drain in the battery as well... I loose 3-4% in one hour (when the phone is idle)...
Is this normal ?
Is there any way to avoid the background apps to start automatically? Does these apps drain the battery?
Also, I am using Launcher Pro... Whether it can be the reason for the drain in the battery?
Is there anyway to reduce the battery drain?
P.S: The phone is rooted...
Thanks,
Guru
Samsung Galaxy S
Android 2.2
BaseBand: I9000DDJP2
Build: Froyo.DDJP6
stop using task killers.
3-4% isn't unusual, but task killers will make it worse.
Hmm... I have the same problem with Doc's Rom XWJS3+speedmod kernel.
Somethimes I get 2%/hour battery drain (which is normal for me) and other times I get mad 5%/hour battery drains.
When I got the 5%/h battery drain I checked Spare Parts, but it didn't show nothing unusual.
And I know Spare Parts and the usual suspects: Gallery 3D, Dialer, Fruit Ninja,...
Thx god phone reboot fixes the mad battery drain.
Too bad this isn't fixable because no app shows high battery usage in Spare Parts.
EDIT: I do not use Task Killers and yes I would also not recommend using them.
Thanks guys for the replies... I have disabled Advanced Task killer and now monitoring the battery drain...
Also, any idea if Launcher Pro consumes battery as well? Since I have kept it as my default launcher...
Thanks,
Guru
Yes I guess we are all in the same boat.
When I clear level 1 and 2 memory in the task manager, I get a note that 10+ apps have been stopped but I believe this is not the right thing to do.
Android OS seem to work this way.
I need to do some reading about it.
Can someone explain what are the disadvantages of using advanced task managers?
the stock task manager is fine.. its the other ones from the market that contribute to battery drain,, even tho they are made to decrease battery drain.... weird i know...
they are permanently checking the OS for running apps, and certain options like 'show notification message' or 'auto kill at screen off' means the app is running permanently.... even when you kill it. it just starts back up in a blink of an eye...
stick to the stock task killer as its no better / worse than the rest......

[Q] Android System Taking Up Most Battery.

Hello Guys,
I have recently purchased Galaxy GT-s5830i, (DLDA1/XXLA1).
One problem i'hv been constantly observing is, The process named 'Android System' takes most of the battery ( Usually 70-80%) when I see the battery use.
I'hv tried uninstalling unused apps( Google transport services, Maps etc). Ihv even tried Custom Roms, But no help!
Any Ideas why is it so? any fixes?
Thanks in Advance.
Edit: Please Post how much battery does Android System takes in your case.
if this is your first android "smartphone" then its completely normal to worry about battery unless you get used to it

[Q] Android OS killing battery. Any solutions?

I don't know what's causing this. Anybody have the same situation as I have? Any ideas to remove Android OS battery drain? TIA
Remove Android OS from your system :screwy::silly:
Seriously its core process of entire OS (operating system).
Without it your phone can't work
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda app-developers app

If your phone is rooted, download better battery stats from xda for free and find out what is draining your battery

Well, I got pissed and did a factory reset+flash new ROM and problem seemed to be solved. I'll get back if it's still present.

Every now and then i have the same problem, Android OS chewing my battery dry...it keeps my phone "Awake" all the time, like when i sleep for 8 hours it eats my battery over 30% ... but, after a restart or 2 or 3 restarts it gets back to its usual behavior, phone goes to sleep when i don't use it and i get easily 2 days of medium usage...
i still have stock ROM and dont know what keeps the Android OS working all the time in the background, but as i said it happens rarely, maybe 2-3 times a month,so probably its some sort of a glitch
P.S. @NoTricks , 2 months ago i installed Dropbox app and even i have had its settings not to upload anything automatically, the application was working all the time in the background killing my battery super fast...after i uninstalled it the phone went back to normal battery usage...just my personal experience with that app....

Yeah, Same Here, My battery drains faster when I install an app that always runs in background. I tweaked my S3 Mini's Minfree values and it helped a bit, but it reduced my phones powers in multitasking.

[Q] Max eco settings

Hello.
Just bought my Razr i (4.1.2 stock) and need some info or help please.
I´m "dont talk to me" user, so my phone can happen to be untouched for whole week until somebody calls or messages me. That way I´d like to max out idle battery life.
I think that those questions are more on Android than on phone, but still... Anyway:
I clear my apps in "task manager" everytime, I use GPS/WIFI/DATA only at a time I use the phone and its apps directly, and I have set smart action which disables GPS,Wifi and (background) data once I turn the display off. I have 4% of battery down after night (9h idle) with flight mode, and 70% idle / 30% screen + android in battery status.
Is it enaugh to max out its sleep potential to prolong battery life at idle state, or is there anything else to do?
If it is not naughty, I´d also like to disable some more apps and processes to make it "light walking" machine, but don´t know what is the purpose of those (MotoCare, QuickView, but processes with android icoon are more difficult to recognize and possibly disable).
Can anybody help please?
Thx for possible answers

To completely disable motocare you need root access. However, you can kill it for a couple of days if you clear its data. Vehicle mode usually runs in the background so you might wanna disabe it. Youtube and facebook ALWAYS run in the background, regardless of whether you're even online. I suggest you remove facebook as well if you have it as the newest version takes up almost 40 mb of RAM. You could use the web version which is just the same.
Thank you. Helped a lot!.
Also changed smart actions for Battery Saver at a time when I turn the display off....
Well, waiting after "new stuff at home" goes away, there is chance to get over 10 days of idle. That´s my boy
