[Q] Factory Reset without erasing internal SD? - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hi all,
Like what the title says, is there any way to make a Factory Reset without formatting internal SD card?

Yes, you can do it through clockwork recovery and it won't wipe internal Sdcard as long as you use the latest version

[Q] How do you wipe data on SD card in 2e or CWM

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone knows how to remove files in an sd card through 2e / CWM.
Doing a data/factory reset doesn't remove anything on my internal card
CWM format sd does not work.

is it normal that ODIN flash with re-partition does not wipe SD

I flashed Darky 10.2 with ODIN with re-partition ticked.
However, it does not wipe any contents in internal SD.
so all my music, picture, etc are still there.
Is this normal?
Then how should I flash to be most clean?
Also, factory wipe does not wipe internal SD too.
it get rids of setting and my app but not pictures or music in internal SD.
I was wondering if this is normal too......
I am using Bell I9000M
Yes, both normal, why? Do you want to loose everything?

Good to know that my phone isn't acting weird.
Though I am kinda worried that the files in internal SD happened before lagfix was applied (stock) and new files to be added will have lagfix applied.
Wouldn't it corrupt internal SD?
Hi dude,
Don't mix up internal SD and internal memory.
Internal SD keep your personnal data like pictures, music and more.
Internal memory hold the OS, recovery and more.
Odin only works with internal memory.
In answer to your question, it's completely normal. If you want to wipe your internal SD, use recovery menu and choose wipe personal data or from android system, go to settings and look for storage menu, you can format internal and external SD from that place.
Kind regards

[Q] Partition Size for 4G SD card

I am helping a friend to root her LG P970 and I am thinking to flash boybe's cm7.
Should I make any changes to the SD card partition? If yes,
What is the best partition for a 4GB SD card in my situation?
Thanks!
Put the card inside phone and format(options > storage > format). This is the best option, I think.
No need to format the SD Card at all (unless you want to get rid of the junk from some apps you won't be using anymore), no need to create partitions... Just put boype's .zip file on the SD card. Then go to CWM and do wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition. After that in CWM go to install zip from SD card and choose boype's.zip. That's it.. ofc you have to be on a rooted OB with patched CWM.

Wipe data, system, cache and data/media (internal sd card).
Format your external sd card via recovery or PC. (optional)
I think it's happening due to corrupt file system.Though if the problem is within your internal SD card instead of external one, there is no need to format external sd card.

You might still want to wipe data/media after sw update. It only wipes data, system and cache and not data/media.
I know this because I've had my internal sd card (data/media) corrupted before, preventing my phone from booting. Was only able to fix it via recovery, by wiping internal sd card.Stock, CWM or TWRP a wipe should do it.But SW update doesn't format internal sd card.

To clean internal card?

Hello,
I believe I have a problem with internal memory card... Full wiping not working sometimes (says it cannot mount '/system'), and time to time new image installation stops on the extraction phase...
Is there any way to format internal card except TWRP wiping?..
Or maybe there's some other way to reliably clean up the intermal card?
Please advice.
Format from settings and just delete everything on phone. Let phone boot then Odin. Alternatively twrp has option to wipe internal, just be sure you have backup and new rom on external before you wipe.
