Hi there I got really confused
The ZL is on US sony store now, but what I want is Z! I don't get it because in the past sony always release new products in US market first, at least not that late like Xperia Z!
It's obvious that the screen of Japan version SO-02E is differ from international version (I know IPS is a type of TFT...however the darkness, the contrast is totally different) And SO-02E has IR remote, I also own Xperia Tablet, the IR remote on Xperia Tablet is damn cool, and i think it's gonna be cooler if a phone can control a tv, air-conditioner(imagine that)
Seems like SONY Mobile US is not gonna sell it officially, i'm just gonna buy it from ebay.
I just need to confirm that anyone got the two versions? can you compare the screen with more pictures ? (a little doubt on the comparison article because it only compared the wallpaper which is not precise and convincible, it may be caused just by what the ROM used)
And is it possible to flash an international version ROM on SO-02E? Does the IR remote function still work?
THX
as stated in many threads, the screens from the japanese and international versions are the same. the black on the japanese ones is better because IT IS actually black, compared to the GREY bars of the international version. so it's a matter of the theme, not the screen! if you want a black theme, go and buy the japanese xperia.
ok theme is not a problem
do you know whether Docomo provide the bootloader unlocking service? any extra fee? on http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/unlocking-boot-loader, there is only Xperia Z

DonĀ“t have a clue...but design is so bad
May be a chinese model or something, or just a toy!?
looking at the screen i think its like one of those old brick games(thats what we call it dont know any other term)
This is really a PDA
Contacts, calendar, alarm buttons? this is really a PDA the very bones of a pda, maybe the keyboard is for entry the contacts name or type in the calculator.
I like chinese devices. Cheap, they break easily, ugly, not functioning most of the time. It is nice to buy one of them once in a while.
it does look more like a calculator
Isn't that the new Gameboy Sp phone ?
looks like an atlas
whatever that is...looks like a new version of the gameboy DS
The screen hinge would have to be indestructable.
Imported knock off
This looks like an imported knock off of one of the first Palm Pilot prototypes from 1996 designed by US Robotics and manufactured in China as a prototype that never was introduced by US Robotics "PALM corp."
looks really really bad quality, so its definatly not Nintendo lol
its just a crap cheap knock off.

I mean my mother has bought herself a S/E C905 phone and in the box there was a USB converter where you could insert the Sony M2 and then flash the card on the pc.
Why did S/E do something simular with the X1?
because m2 adapters are not common+ there is no real demand for something like that especially when you consider that you can simply use the usb cable to do what you want
get one from here its only $1.07 with free shipping worldwide
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7120
there are cheaper ones but this one works fine

Hell's yeah, I'd be pissed at the manufacturer if the windshield cracked at -20C! That's a manufacturing defect for sure. Unless you bought a South American car and were driving it in the Yukon.
You buy a product in Canada, it should be built to withstand Canadian weather. You buy a product in the US, it should be built to withstand the weather extremes there. Same for any part of the world.
Sent through the telekinetic powers of an Optimus G (E971) running AOKP 4.2.1.
Hi all, looking to get a Galaxy S, saw this post. Should I wait and see whether they arrive here?
"Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular all decided to give their respective versions of the Galaxy S fancy trademarks, but not lil' Cellular South: the regional is just sticking with Sammy's original name for a change of pace. This would also seem to be the closest North American Galaxy S to its European cousin, featuring the standard industrial design and what appears to be a fairly stock TouchWiz load (if you can really call TouchWiz "stock") atop Android 2.1. Oh, there is one nice bonus, though: this version's got an LED flash for the 5 megapixel camera, a feature many variants left out. It includes a 16GB microSD card pre-installed to complement the 2GB of internal storage, and it's available right now for $199.99 on contract after a $50 rebate. Follow the break for the full press release."

Ken
Verizon's Galaxys S model also comes with with flash so will only be availble on their network, but afaik verizon don't offer a mobile network in the UK??? Best bet is buy an unlocked version on ebay. Also a big thing with the Verizon model is that Microsoft must have paid them some big bugs as the default search widget uses Bing
Also if you look at the image below of verizon "Samsung Continuum a Galaxy S phone" notice the ticker display the only and first phone to ever offer such

Is there one being developed?
I would love to see one on our Android phones.
I know there's one for ADW Launcher, but that's more of a theme.
I posted it at the X10 forums, but as PlayGunsta suggested, I should post it here too so
that more devs could see it.
For those wondering what's an XMB, Xross Media Bar is a GUI developed by Sony for the PSP, PS3, and some Bravia TVs..
Here's an image:

i would love to see this also!!!
For phones, I think this would be difficult to use. For tablets on the other hand, it's certainly an interesting idea. However, I must say the XMB is more suited to a directional controller rather than a touch screen. In all honesty, I don't see this being very practical for Android, but I do find the idea interesting. Just my 2c
There are XMB-style live wallpapers already, ripped from the Xperia Play. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025087 I think if Sony was going to release an XMB-style launcher for Android, the Xperia Play would've been the phone to do it on. I'm sure the thought crossed their mind, but when it came to practicality, the idea was probably thrown out the window.
Thanks on that one!
Or at least a widget might be good..
There is an Open Source Cross Media Bar for GP2X called GP2XMB. Is there anyone here with the knowledge to covert it to an Android Launcher? This would be a great Launcher for Android Handhelds like the JXD S602 or the Yinlips YDPG19 or even the new Archos GamePad.
I cant post links but if you Google GP2XMB it will be the first result

Make a full backup of your current ROM ( make an ftf using flashtool)
then try to flash official 4.3 ftf & see it works or not.
I suggest to have it replaced. The warning image you posted is pretty obvious.
Prototype - Not final, in terms of software, it is Beta.
That is why some of your apps are not working properly because the phone itself is not for End-User (Buyer) use, it is for development use only (IMHO).
Edit : Model Number must be either C5503 or C5502, yours really look like a test device model number
