Hey ive been lookin on this site for a long time and have been trying to update my rom for my wizard for at least 3 days. I really need your guys help. I have a mac and a pc and my pc is runnin xp and im runnin AS on my mac under virtual pc with windows xp pro. When i try to install AS on my pc i get an error saying windows installer cannot me accessed and i cant get it to install no matter what i do. So now ive been focused on the mac. I got it installed on my mac an runnin but i got another problem. When i usb my wizard it will not recognize it unless i run usbswitch which is not a big deal till i try to update the rom. I get through the unlocker but when i get to the rom itself it tuns the wizard off an on then gets the red, blue etc screen but does not recognize the wizard is hooked up usb i guess cause usbswitch is not runnin. so my problm is what do i do to fix this delma. Maybe this has already been adressed but i havent been able to find it on this forum yet so i apologize if it was already posted. I tried updating to 4.2 beta for AS but it did nothing. I appreciate any help. Thank you.
ps. i have a tmobile mda runnin out of the box roms, so i guess its 1.8 or sumthin, maybe 1.2 i dunno w/e it is

i posted this else where in this forum as i thought this wouldnt be the right place at the time and maybe still isnt.. but i wanted to see if anyone has found a fix for this..
microsofts new OS - VISTA (BETA)does not like the boatloaders i have to break out my work laptop to install my rom updates.. I can load application via the new sync mgr. but whne it comes to upgrading / downgrading rom NADA !
anyone else out there beta testing vista .. ?or maybe know why ? i am not ewven sure where the heck to look .. I dont think it recognizes the USB for some odd reason in the bootloader app.

I've downloaded the latest ROM (v2.21.4.101) from the XDA website and tried to install using VISTA. I didn't have Activesync on my machine so downloaded v4.1 and tried to install, Vista didn't like it and suggested Windows Mobile Device Center. So got that, and went ahead with my ROM upgrade...
All was going fine, the phone turned off and went to the 3 colour screen but then on the PC it come up with ERROR!! This is when I started bricking myself, more so than the phone at this stage!! Luckily the ROM guide had a recovery guide and I'm back on with the phone now.
Question is... How can I upgrade my ROM?? Does WMDC not have the right drivers or something??
Can I use a different ROM maybe?? Say a WM6 ROM?
Please help!! This old ROM with the O2 software is doing my head in... its so slow!!!

is it possible to flash (or check if R3 is existing ) via SEUS when i have installed hardSPL?
When I follow the instructions in SEUS the application doens't check my firmware...
I got in tricolor mode and attached usb cable but nothing happens?
do i have to revert to stock spl or is there a special trick?

No, u dont need to revert to stock SPL for using SEUS..
Just make sure u have sync ur X1 properly with activesync/windows mobile device center before using SEUS.
But if u'r using cooked ROM, i suggest u revert back to Stock ROM first.

I just tried on my laptop with vista...It started with no problem
but I dont get any r3 updates, just to reinstall the stock rom I now have...

I think it's not Win7 problems. I've tried it with Vista, SEUS didn't work when I was using cooked ROM, then i revert to stock ROM and it works.
lol, did you think I tried with cooked rom?
I have try it with hard-spl olinex and with my own custom rom that is a light version of official rom (without videos and ringtones) made be me. jejeje
And seus works ok. Not problem at all..

i have tried it now several times, only one time the status screen "checking version" came up but didn't really do anything....
reinstalling of seus didn't change anything
What ROM r u using? Cooked or Stock ROM?
I'm using generic_AT_R2 rom / stock...
but i have just discovered that my battery is < 50 %
will charge it now and try again later... maybe sw checks the status? (error message would be fine )

1.unplug the phone
start seus and click next till it asks to connect phone
2.pull the battery
press volume down and power (enter bootloader)
3.connect the phone
and seus will recognise it

Can you confirm if SEUS works with Cooked ROM? Some ppl reported SEUS worked with it, but in my experiences, it never worked with WM6.5. Or maybe SEUS only works with WM6.1 cooked ROM? or maybe I miss something?
I have use seus with my own custom rom that i made with an original wm6.1
R2AA from LAM i just take out the videos and other stuffs like bigs mp3...
And seus has work well...

went through all instructions, phone is in tricolor, connected usb but then nothing happens...
i'm using SPL-0.72.OliNex

just tried it again on a differnt computer, now i tried it with windows XP
and it worked
so there is a big problem with vista sp1..
tried to reinstall drivers and so on but it simply doesn't work
-> win XP worked great now I have 3RAA007 generic AT

Well i think the problem is Vista/Windows 7.
The odd thing is that it can discover the device when it's not in bootloader mode(though not flash it because it's not in the bootloader mode).
It tells you the device couldn't be verified, but to me it seems like the program will only work if your device has an established partnership with ActiveSync/Mobile Device Center. But the device in bootloader mode isn't capable of establishing partnership, and therefor it doesn't get detected by the application.
That's my theory atleast.
I've used seus with a custom rom. But it definitely doesn't work in win7.
XP it works everytime, and vista seems a bit hit and miss..
I got my phone last friday and tried SEUS almost straight away, Windows 7 really doesnt like it. Had to use my xp laptop
Hmm... weird. I'm on HSPL with an original ROM, but not stock.
SEUS goes as far as "Checking connected phone" and then exits.
Any ideas?

Well, I am trying to update the ROM on my Diamond.
Ive downloaded all the necessary things for it, but when ever I connect my Diamond through ActiveSync nothing happens. (Im running XP on my laptop).
Is there software (other than the Hard-spl) that I need for my computer or is it the device?
