16gb class10 & stock battery - Galaxy Ace S5830 Accessories

This morning I ordered a Strontium 16gb class10 micro-sd card and a new stock battery.
It has not been shipped or paid yet so before paying I would like to ask is there any better option for these 2.
BTW I live in India and would prefer COD(cash on delivery) sites only as I am facing some problems with my credit card and need to contact the bank but i dont have that much time as my battery is like a half boiled egg now, can burst anytime!!
So a bit fast please.
Hit THANKS if I helped somehow..

In my opinion, SanDisk is the best option

Yes I prefer SanDisk as well, although mine is only a class 4.
As for the battery, a new stock one is a good choice, just make sure it's not fake as a lot of them are.
Sent from my A510

I also prefer SanDisk as well but you can even try Transcend, Its also Good

Sandisk or transcend would be great....

go for sanddisk

what about this?? is it compatible with ace??

Kaiser Memory Card capacity

Some people say Kaiser can manage up to 8GB and some say it can manage
up to 16GB all I have is 4GB and its more then enough. But a friend wants to send me one and asked me what is would prefer. I would go for 16GB but I don't know if I can use it. I have a AT&T Tilt.
Thank You.
Hi and welcome around,
searching a little bit around may have answered your question .
The Kaiser definitely supports µSDHC up to 16 GB. As soon as 32 GB comes up, it will also support it.
Got a 16Gb in mine. Runs great. Just got to find stuff to fill it now!
What 16 GB are you using?

I also have a 16 gb micro sdhc card - got it a couple of weeks ago. It's a sandisk, and works great. I've had no problem whatsoever getting more than half filled already!

I am also using a 16GB sandisk. It works great and have no problems. The only thing I will say, as with any flash memory, is that mine is just below 15GB. I personally think that the labeled amount should be the minimum amount available. Sorry for that... go for the 16GB!
Where are you guys buying these 16GB cards? I can't even find them on any of the major retailers' sites. I'm curious to see how much they run. 16Gb used to be a pipe dream to me. heck, the 4 gig I'm currently using used to be such a pipe dream. I remember when I paid $350 for a 1 gig SD card...
16 gigs would be lovely though. I could load up on music.

Here are 2 threads dicussing where to find them: here and here.
I got my 16 gb sandisk card on ebay, for $52.00 delivered. I've bought a number of accessories for my tilt off ebay. It's a good place to buy things, as long as you buy from a seller with a really good feedback rating.

You can get far better prices than that like this http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-16GB-...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1230674794&sr=8-2
16GB MicroSDHC Class 6 card (DRATS!) - ONLY $24.99 (s&h FREE)
The best bang for your buck right now for a Class 6 MicroSDHC card, is the 16GB made by ADATA - from Newegg.com:

What SPEED is the Tilt able to handle for the MicroSDHC cards? There are Class 2, 4, and 6 - Class 6 being the fastest. However, if the Tilt is only able to transfer up to or slightly below the speed of a Class 4 card, then buying a Class 6 rather than a Class 4 would be a total waste of money for the higher speed -
- - -
I was going to post something about the ADATA 8GB card I actually have, because I thought it was a great buy at 18.99, but when I checked their web site today, it turns out since I bought mine only about 2 weeks ago, they posted the above Class 6 speed card with 16GB!
I would make a fuss and return my old one, the only thing is, I don't even have any way of filling up the 8GB card - so I may as well wait until the 32Gb cards come out - also anothjer reason is my Tilt is getting to bee a little long in the tooth with scratches, etc. - so by the time the 32GB cards come down in price there may be other models coming onto the market I want to buy instead of the current phone I have now...

There will no doubt be better phones on the market in the near future (HTC's leaked road map has some nice looking phones due out this year, and that Nvidia Tegra system looks awesome). But, the beauty of the situation here is, pretty much any phone worth buying in the future should have a micro SD slot. It kind of sucked buying SD cards with Mini SD on the horizon, and then buying Mini SD cards with Micro SD on the horizon. But Micro SD seems to have settled in as the standard, so your 16 gig card will probably work on your next device.
According to A-Data's website, they don't make a 16gb microsd card
The link above takes you to a 16gb flash card, but it's not a microsd card. The cheapest ones I've seen are 50+ on ebay, probably fakes, but I have an 8gb, probably fake that I go on ebay, and it works perfectly.
I have a 16 gb micro sd card that I bought on ebay, and it works great. I've had no problems whatsoever with it, and I've really loaded it up! I paid $52.00 for it (shipping included).
It Supports up to 32gb
Correction 16GB MicrSDHC not yet available?
My first post tothis thread was wrong, that was a 16GB sd card, not a micro sdhc card. All I can find for highest capacity (class 6) is an 8GB card which I am now using (and itis fast):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211341
And it's only $15.49!
It appears that the class 4 and class 6 make little difference in speed tests, maybe the tilt read/write throughput gets maxed out at the class 4 speed??? Any thoughts anyone?

[q] micro sd confusion

hey guys
i looked on xda at many micro sd card reviews, speed checks, different peoples advise, and it so mixed.....checking amazon reviews, play.com, and even ebay
bascially i been stung before with ebay fake micro sd`s on my old samsung omnia
i want to go for a 16gb, i seen sandisk have had issues, plus a friend of mine had a problem with a kingston 16gb class 6 as well(on a htc hd desire, slow startup)
so i make this post with one seemingly simple question, what 16gb card should i get lol
what manufacture is most reliable, gives a good speed, and is compatible with my htc hd2, what the consensus
i have seen this, and seems okay?
TEAM 16GB microSDHC Class 10, never hear of team though?????
any advise would be great
I've always used sandisk microsd in my phones and never had a single problem. I had an HTC 3600, HTC Diamond 2 and now on the HD2.
I had a Kingston that gave a few problems, yes. Like sometimes not being recognised or show like empty.
Sandisk all the way.
Go for a sandisk. If you plan on running wp7 or android with the card, go for a sandisk class 2 card. Sandisk should always be the choice when buying a sd card. I have 2 16gb sandisk class 2, 1 32gb sandisk class 2 and 1 sandisk class 4, and a few other sandisk of 8gb and lower, and they all work well with my HD2 (except that one of my older 16gb sandisks doesn't work well with wp7, but the rest work great)
Essentially its gonna come down to you...
With WP7 people have been using sd cards that work OK for others but still have problems themselves...
I have 2x16 GB Sandisk that seem to work ok on Android, a 16gb class 4 Kingston that works OK on all OS's, 2x Top Ram 32gb class 2 that seem to be ok (one is slower than the other which is strange as they are the same batch) and an Adata 32gb class 2 that works brilliantly with WP7.
It seems that sd cards aren't consistantly good or bad.
Good Luck and happy hunting...
TEAM seems to be fine. I am using a 8Gb class 10 TEAM micro sdhc in HD2 for SD Android. Happy with the speed.
BUT don't buy any cards without proper blister package because they are getting relabelled so they can sell it more expensive. For ex.: 8GB micro sdhc class2 ---> 8Gb microsdhc class6 (especially from China)
SD CARDS
hey guys thanks for your responses, i have taken half a risk, i have ordered 2 cards
1 is a Kingmax 16GB Micro SD HC Class 10, not a fake one
and the other is a scan 16GB Sandisk Micro SD Class 6, and also not a fake
the kingmax turned up yesterday(which was the risk), i have installed android(hd2_core_droid_desire dhd v1, and its working super rapid, no issues as yet, fingers crossed but happy with the results upto now.....
still waiting on the sandisk
not sure if i will install windows mobile 7, tempting as it is
but happy with android, just wondering if the class 10 cards might be more greedy on power though......

Yeah, higher class cards are more power hungry... that's why I always stick with class 2 sandisk cards for my phone. Read speeds in the phone are just as good with class 2, so there's no performance loss. I always found that class 2 cards have better random access speed, so they seem to work better for running android. With class 6, I always had the problem in android where after you first turn screen on, it takes a couple seconds before touchscreen would start registering the touch. With class 2 sandisk, that problem rarely happens.
The only thing that's good about higher class cards is when you're transferring a lot of large files to the card from a card reader, they copy to the card faster... they're great for use with digital camera's where you want high write speed, but not really needed for smartphones, as they consume more power and usually have lower random access speed.

hey, i am noticing a slight difference in power drain, well maybe lol i am looking for problems now, and being picky lol........could also be the new version of core_droid ROM(dont know)
i dont seem to get lag on the lock screen/pin screen at start up, still get a second before the screen springs into life from the lock state. but thats just an android thing
sandisk has turned up, but not has time to clone my data onto it, to see if there any difference........

Like I said... higher class cards do drain battery more. And I don't generally have a second before screen turns on or any delays like that, so I don't think its just an android thing.

Recommended Micro SD Cards That Work w/G2x

Hey guys if you guys could post some links of compatible or recommend me some 16gb/32gb micro SD cards that work with the G2x that would be great. I live in the USA.
All microSD brands should work...
OKay I was reading reviews and notice some don't work with Android devices. This one in particular.

The Lexar 32gb class 10 supposed to be good And you will probably need a class 4-10 because of writing while your filming 1080p... you dont want any lag
JD
Yes, the Lexar 32GB works absolutely fine and is class 10, which is a MUST with such a fast phone.
I bought a Wintech 16gb Class 10 at Fry's on sale for 29.99 months ago. Works well with Samsung Galaxy S phones and my LG G2X. Sure beats the silly Class 2 that came with the Galaxy phones. Its normal price is about $32. The Wintech 32gb Class 10 is 89. These are legit class 10 micro sd cards and I have benchmark tested them. Don't buy fake crap sold on Ebay from China. Beware as they sell 4gb micro sd cards labeled as 16gb and class 10. Try putting more than 4 gb total in the card and it says storage is full.
Okay thanks guys.
I'm chinese, agree with you,DONT buy sd card from china, sufferring from the fake card, sigh

I'm about to get my G2X later this week and I was wondering the same thing.
Do I really need a Class 10 though?
Also... what's a good size'd card for someone who wont be going crazy with the 1080p camera?
I just want to add a few movies here and there on the phone plus apps and music with some room for misc docs.
I'm looking for the combination of speed/capacity/and affordability.
Anymore suggestions?
Thanks
ps. sorry if I'm hijacking your thread.
16gb card is enough for that usage and doesnt cost much.

Thanks. What class would you recommend?
Regardless of class, I think I'll start out with a 16g and see how that goes. I'm pretty sure I'll be fine. I'll spend the bigger bucks on a 2-4 gig class 6-10 for a dedicated dSLR with 1080p recording.

any good recommendations from online sellers, since i'm in AU most instore are a rip offf

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MicroSD-T...S_Accessories_Software_ET&hash=item3cc384c620
Probably the cheapest prices i have seen.
I would never buy anything like a class 10 card from eBay unless the seller was someone like eBuyer or Argos, so many fake cards on eBay.
Better to pay more and know you are getting class 10. Also the class doesn't mean a hole lot, read and write speeds are what you should look at.

The class of the sd card IS what indicates the read and write speed, a class 10 gives you min 10mb sec write speed.
It's also good to pay attention to the manufacturer. Some no-name class 4 card I got was barely working, while there's no problem with a Kingston one, with the same specs.
Iv been using a genric class 4gb sd card for years and i still get 5mb/s write speed on it.
My class 4 barely manages 4MB/s, usually in the 3s. Sandisk

I got the 8gb sd card in the post, speed test shows at 4.8mb/s write speed.
It happened to me to find micro sd cards not respecting class written on them. there are a lot of softwares that mesure writing and reading speed. Personally, I would spend a little more money for a good product i.e. I have a 32Gb Samsung, Class 10 and I payed it 35€ (shipping included..)
If you don't need a big capability, a good 8gb or 16gb can cost you not more than 10-15€...
It's something you buy once and least for year..buy it good and you won't regret it!

Best Micro SD Card for the Xperia Z

Hi,
I'm new here at xda-forum, cause I get an Xperia Z this week (waiting for the order) and my question is what's the best micro sd card for this phone.
Micro SD card needs:
- Class 10
- 32/64 GB
- that lasts for a very long time
Thx for helping
Greetz,
Rom
ive been using a SanDisk 64gb class ultra (10) for about a year and a half now had it in my xperia play and now my Xperia Z
only ever formated it once and that was when I first got it, I paid about 55 gbp but you can probably get one for about 40 gbp now maybe less
I wouldn't say theres a best one but that one has served and is serving me well just wish there was a 128gb now haha I have so much stuff on it, mostly android games though (30gb)
Hope this helps

What micro sd? the micro sdxc or the sdhc?
Between SDXC and SDHC, difference is only in size, not speed. Some people often mistakes it for another speed mark, especially on SDXC (eg. X - Xtra speed )
SDHC - Secure Digital High Capacity (0 - 32GB)
SDXC - Secure Digital Xtended Capacity (32GB and more)
I always use Sandisks and I never had a single issue with any of them.
Right now I'm using this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003HIWHN0/
Dirt cheap and much faster than listed. Lower class SD cards might not benchmark very well but they perform great in Android and for smaller files.
Samsung and Transcend mSD cards are also good quality and performace. I prefer Samsung because they are cheap in my friend's store. SanDisk cannot be bought in Croatia, only via amazon, ebay, etc... and are much more expensive than Samsung.
I don't believe that they are much better than Samsung Class 10 Pro than how much they cost more.

Did You buy mSD cards form eBay? There are lot of fake ones.
On HTC Desire I used Samsung 8GB Class 10 (2 years) and I sold HTC and that card to a friend and still working.
Now I'm using Samsung SDHC 16GB Pro Class 10 for 3 months since day 1 with Xperia Z. No problems whatsoever. I have 2y warranty with it.
Beside that, having Transcend 2GB and 4GB Class 4 in my Nokia X2 and 6303C phones, those are 4 years old.
Soon I will get Alcatel OT Idol and for him I bought Transcend 8GB Class 6.

SanDisk is top quality brand, but no one can tell how long it will be working. It can work 10 years, or could die in few days. Important is for You to do backups and have valid warranty.
