Hello,
After several research I find my way to unlock my Legend ! (Sorry for my english)
Needed :
- http://www.mediafire.com/?e8dait6i1h67jzv ( RUU_Legend_Froyo_S_HTC_WWE_3.15.405.6_Radio_47.51. 35.17_7.13.35.05_release_2223 )
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=903220&d=1329331154 ( PB7610000_Legend_Froyo_S_hboot_1.02.0000_R.zip )
- http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-legend.img ( recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-legend.img )
- http://www.filefactory.com/file/b1d16ag/n/GoldCardTool_exe (GoldCardTool.exe)
Instructions :
Make a ROM Manager backup (if you would restore your custom rom)
Make a backup of your SD card on the pc (for ROM Manager backup and for making goldcard)
Format SD card and make a goldcard with GoldCardTool.exe (follow https://sites.google.com/site/roothtchero/goldcard-2 instructions)
With goldcard in your phone, install the RUU 3.15.405.6 package (the goldcard avoids the error 131)
Install the hboot 1.02 update (PB7610000... needed for htcdev unlock)
Create an account on htcdev and follow the instruction to unlock the hboot
In flashboot mode (as unlock procedure) install CWM for S-OFF hboot : fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-legend.img (the img file must be in the adb.exe/fastboot.exe/AdbWinApi.dll folder obviously)
Boot on the recovery and flash any rom like you or/and restore the rom manager backup (if you want restore your custom rom)
Succes ^^
This guide is wrong on many levels,
1st your not unlocking 0.43 your updating to hoot 1.02 you can't do full s-off on hoot on 1.02, so this is bad advice unless you need the restructured system Rom space for special reason.
2nd if your doing htcdev 1.02 hboot update you don't need goldcard, why waist time? I see your changing your current Rom to a Rom that's probably not for your region, that's why you using goldcard.#3 below explains
3rd to install hboot 1.02, you don't need to change your current Rom you only need to follow blay0s method for flashing the hboot image direct.
I'll even add the link for you to blay0s method

You obviously did not understand ^ ^
Or so I badly expressed.
I describe my way to get unlocked (htcdev method) HBOOT starting a HBOOT 0.43.
The goldcard is for the 131 error that I got when installing the ruu package over the custom rom.
And the Blay0s method not work for me so I have install ruu 3.15.405.6 because the update HBOOT requested

Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1373697 and download: HTC Sync (Installed then uninstalled for ADB drivers).
IncS main version downgrade toolkit v2.0.
RUU used for downgrade.
Extract all the files from the downgrade toolkit to your PC and run runme.cmd, following the instructions on screen.
Then run the RUU Downgrade (takes a while, around 10 mins so be patient).
When its finished running, you can verify if you have 1.13.0000 hboot by entering hboot (power on phone + vol down).
Then you can run revolutionary to get your s-off!

It is an attempt by HTC open up the phone for customization by developers. It unlocks the bootloader so that you can flash a custom recovery, a custom ROM and a custom boot image, but it falls short of being full S-OFF (security off).
If you have installed the latest OTA update which updates the phone to Android 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 then the HBOOT version is 2.00.0000 which cannot be S-OFF or downgraded, so unlocking at HTCDEV is your only choice at this point in time to root your phone.

Original poster, did you get this to work ?
I am trying to downgrade from 2.02.0002 and get the following when running the RUU process:-
"THE ROM UPDATE UTILITY CANNOT UPDATE YOUR ANDROID PHONE"
"PLEASE GET THE CORRECT ROM UPDATE UTILITY AND TRY AGAIN"
I notice you are on 2.02.0002 the same, but the link to 'All in One Noob Guide For Downgrade and S Off' actually says 2.00 and not 2.02.
Just wondering if you got the same issue as me and the poster who mentioned the link didnt see you said 2.02.
Thanks

I was working with a user this week that was trying to use the script to downgrade HBOOT 2.02.0002 and it appears that the tacoroot exploit to get temp root does not work on HBOOT 2.02.0002, so the script is unable to run misc_version to change the mainver value to 2.00.0000, so therefore it will not work at the moment for a stock, unrooted phone.
You would have to resort to unlocking the bootloader at HTCDEV.com, install a custom recovery and then root the ROM in order to use the downgrade and gain S-OFF.

To flash recovery from 4ext recovery control, you need s-off. You will have to do the manual way, by entering this command 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'.

If you have HBOOT 2.02.0002 and you unlock using HTCDEV.com you will be able to:
1. Flash a custom recovery.
2. Once you have a custom recovery you will be able to:
A. Root your current ROM by installing SU-3.1.3.zip
B. Flash a custom, rooted ROM.
So I believe that should answer your questions. You may now exit the maze.

S-ON/S-OFF is used to reference the Security flag setting in the phone. If you have Security Off, then you can flash almost everything to your phone, including a new radio.
With an unlocked bootloader like you have, you can flash some of the same items as S-OFF with the 2 biggest exceptions being:
1. You cannot flash a new radio.
2. The boot partition is not mounted as R/W when in Recovery mode, thus the reason you manually have to flash the boot.img while in FASTBOOT USB mode.
Can someone tell the definitive way to flash a rom on my phone? http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
Should I unlock my phone via htcdev.com and flash custom ROM's? (what exactly is the difference between S-OFF and S-ON?)
OR
Should I follow this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705913
but the problem is that the Asian version has problems getting root access using alpharevx's method.
Can someone confirm if the Revolutionary method works on the Indian Incredible S?
Also what is a gold card?
Depends on your hboot version.
the link you posted gives you most of the information required.
s-off means security off and s-on is security on..
s-off gives you easier ability to flash roms and recoverys.
do a bit of reading around in the forum and you'll find almost all the answers you need
No offense but I read a lot but the only thing I'm confused about is the Indian version not being able to root as stated in the OP.

With HBOOT 2.00, you have 2 options.
Option 1 is to downgrade your mainver and then install a GB RUU that has HBOOT 1.13 and then you can use Revolutionary to gain true S-OFF. This is the best option IMO.
Option 2 is to unlock your bootloader using HTCDEV.com and admit to HTC that you are modding your phone. Once you are unlocked, you can flash a custom recovery that will allow you to flash custom, rooted ROMs.
If I use the second method, will I be able to flash all custom RIMs?

Yes but every time you flash a ROM, you will manually have to extract the boot.img file from the ROM's zip file and then flash it in FASTBBOT USB mode using the command fastboot flash boot [boot.img]
That is why I prefer Option 1 and true S-OFF. You won't have to do that extra step each time.
If you decide to unlock your bootloader from HTC Dev then you must use the custom roms boot.img to install custom roms.
(From what i have read, please correct me if im wrong)
If you decide to S-OFF your device you do not need to obtain the boot.img if you want to flash that rom.
I decided to go the S-OFF route because not all the roms that are developed support S-ON.
If you have HBOOT 2.0 then you will need to (like tpbklake said)
downgrade your mainver and then install a GB RUU that has HBOOT 1.13 and then you can use Revolutionary to gain true S-OFF.

Hi,
I unlocked and rooted my HTC one about a month ago, used CWM recovery.
Today I Got an OTA update now and couldn't install it. Decided to relock and flash factory RUU.
checked my version, it was 1.27.206.1.
Downloaded the file:
OTA_M7_UL_JB_50_O2_UK_1.29.206.11-1.27.206.1_P_release_315484_signed9p2n1xhj0mbk0nvf.zip
When tried flashing got this error:
12 signature verify fail (during fastboot)
I don't know what to do anymore, i really want this update to 4.2.2, and don't really want a custom ROM.
If there's a way to install the OTA update without flashing factury RUU please lemme know,
otherwise if you know how to fix this verify error, please help.
Thanks,
Y.

Hi,
I unlocked and rooted my HTC one about a month ago, used CWM recovery.
Thanks,
Y.

Sorry but how i do that?
Because i didnt backup mine. But can i use a different RUU??
I am not returning it, just want to go back to stock.
Off topic: searching and reading are your friends. YouTube is just 1 persons video and probably doesn't cover all the ins and outs.
No offense intended to anyone.

Did you check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428276
Are you still on hboot 1.44, in which case you could get s-off and flash the unbranded European RUU.

Just SuperCID and flash the European unbranded RUU. That will get you back to stock (though not 3 UK, if that's ok).

No no no!
Get the 1.28.401.7 RUU, connect the phone in fastboot and run the RUU (it's an EXE). It will then flash it back to stock BUT you will not be able to return it to Three as they will see it's not the branded Three ROM and reject the claim
If you just want to use the phone again you'll be good to go as it will be stock - best to change the CID to HTC__001 before flashing the RUU too IMO
As for what nkk71 said about searching, read Rule #1 of this forum...

Oh, .zip? I thought it would be easiest to get the RUU in exe format and just run it off your PC.
I haven't flashed a RUU zip, so can't really say, sorry.
(though I would assume it has to be flashed using fastboot in RUU mode)

I just did a fast search on this, but would still recommend getting the full RUU exe, in case the zip is missing something.

I guess so, what version are u on now? If you've updated firmware to 2.24 then your touchscreen drivers have been updated and won't work with 1.28 backup.
You'll have to use an OTG with mouse, after restoring 1.28 backup, to receive updated OTA in order for touchscreen to work again.

Did you restore the backup or did you run the RUU?
If you restored the backup, then you also need to restore stock recovery.
Don't forget to change your CID back to what it needs to be (depending on what RUU you used or backup you restored)
And finally you'll have to lock your bootloader "fastboot oem lock"
Keep S-Off !!

Thanks for coming back, i am really pissed off.
So i run the RUU and installed but I didn't change the CID.
Now i have super cid, 1.28, android 4.1.2 and bootloader relocked. What i understand now is that the Cid should have been changed to match the RUU but i didn't do that.
So now been trying to unlock the bootloader again with the original .bin but that isn't working. Do i have to go back to Htc dev and get another .bin file because the CID has changed?
After that flash recovery, root, change CID and flash the matching RUU???

Since u r s-off, I think u can change CID without needing to do all that.
Just go to bootloader->fastboot and change CID from ur computer.
