Sorry but how i do that?
Because i didnt backup mine. But can i use a different RUU??
I am not returning it, just want to go back to stock.

Off topic: searching and reading are your friends. YouTube is just 1 persons video and probably doesn't cover all the ins and outs.
No offense intended to anyone.

Did you check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428276
Are you still on hboot 1.44, in which case you could get s-off and flash the unbranded European RUU.

Just SuperCID and flash the European unbranded RUU. That will get you back to stock (though not 3 UK, if that's ok).

No no no!
Get the 1.28.401.7 RUU, connect the phone in fastboot and run the RUU (it's an EXE). It will then flash it back to stock BUT you will not be able to return it to Three as they will see it's not the branded Three ROM and reject the claim
If you just want to use the phone again you'll be good to go as it will be stock - best to change the CID to HTC__001 before flashing the RUU too IMO
As for what nkk71 said about searching, read Rule #1 of this forum...

Oh, .zip? I thought it would be easiest to get the RUU in exe format and just run it off your PC.
I haven't flashed a RUU zip, so can't really say, sorry.
(though I would assume it has to be flashed using fastboot in RUU mode)

I guess so, what version are u on now? If you've updated firmware to 2.24 then your touchscreen drivers have been updated and won't work with 1.28 backup.
You'll have to use an OTG with mouse, after restoring 1.28 backup, to receive updated OTA in order for touchscreen to work again.

Did you restore the backup or did you run the RUU?
If you restored the backup, then you also need to restore stock recovery.
Don't forget to change your CID back to what it needs to be (depending on what RUU you used or backup you restored)
And finally you'll have to lock your bootloader "fastboot oem lock"
Keep S-Off !!

Thanks for coming back, i am really pissed off.
So i run the RUU and installed but I didn't change the CID.
Now i have super cid, 1.28, android 4.1.2 and bootloader relocked. What i understand now is that the Cid should have been changed to match the RUU but i didn't do that.
So now been trying to unlock the bootloader again with the original .bin but that isn't working. Do i have to go back to Htc dev and get another .bin file because the CID has changed?
After that flash recovery, root, change CID and flash the matching RUU???

Just go to bootloader->fastboot and change CID from ur computer.

S-On also allows this, however neither the radio nor kernel can be flashed in CWM, therefore usually the boot.img has to be flashed separately via fastboot after a ROM flash. Some roms manage to flash this automatically at first boot however. The HTC One is currently S-On only.
So if you're rooted it's scoff is that right

I don't think so. From how I understand it, you can be rooted and still be either s-on OR s-off. The difference is that s-off allows you to flash radios and kernels directly through recovery whereas if you're s-on, you have to flash them through fastboot, as the last guy to reply stated.
Sent via my HTC One using XDA Premium
At the moment, the only form of root is unlocked s-on. So if you decide to go that route, you're gonna be flashing the boot.img after you flash a rom and no firmware updates (radio)
I believe the dev version has s-off

[Q] 4.2.2 Update error, help please

I got OTA 4.2.2 on my ONE, which i bought used, was Relocked & Tempered. But now after Revone, I made it S-ON. During the flashing of OTA, the phone restarts itself once, and second time when the OTA is being flashed, it stops midway with a RED exclamation mark.
I am not getting what could be the problem here
Any suggestions....I did not flash any recovery or anything...
I recommend you to root the phone and update the firmware manually and apply a custom rom... Or make sure to follow the exact steps to go back to stock.
I'm pretty sure there are some missing files hence the update doesn't find the right checksum to proceed with the update.
Have you relocked the bootloader? Worth giving that a try if not
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
OTAs will usually fail if any system files are missing. If your phone was debloated at any point, even if it's s-on and relocked, that could be enough to stop the OTA from installing.
To flash an OTA, you typically have to be completely stock.
What do you suggest i should do... Right now doing revone method... I am S-on and bootloader is locked...... I want the official OTA... Amy kind suggestions plz

revone will not take you back to stock. You have to run a RUU for your carrier, or flash a fully stock rom if no RUU is available. For the latter, you need to be unlocked, but you can then relock and should be able to apply the OTA.
Edit: sorry, for the latter, you also have to flash the stock recovery in fastboot. You can find that in the firmware threads, though you'll need to pull recovery.img file out of the zip file.
Can some one help me find the correct RUU for me... I have posted the screen shot...

There's no RUU for your version.
The 1.28.401.7 is for the HTC One UL variant (or was it the U variant?). Anyway the 1.28.401.7 will have a different MID to yours so you can't use that RUU unless you change your MID.
EDIT:
I found the 1.29.401.16.zip from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43316694&postcount=1157 and use this guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40734501&postcount=1 to flash it so you should be back to stock.

HTC One RUU issue.

Hi there,
I have a problem with my htc one. I had a rooted stock rom with TWRP recovery.
I wanted to go to 4.2.2 so i tried using an RUU which failed, i probably picked the wrong one. Now my wifi constantly says 'turning on', lots of apps are blank saying no sd card installed and im not sure what to do now.
My baseband is 4A.17.3251.14_10.39.1150.04L and i bought an unlocked uk phone.
Anyone know what i need to do now to get it working again?
Thanks

it won't go back automatically, the only way to change CID is by you manually using the "fastboot oem write cid 12345678" command. and please remember that CID is always 8 characters so if you want to change it back to O2, then
fastboot oem write cid O2___001 (three underscores!!)
