I am currently trying to upgrade to CM10 / JB but kind of stuck. I have deleted SafeStrap v1.07 and unistalled it. I want to upgrade to SafeStrap2.11 so that CM 10/ JB can run. But from what I understand I need to be on ICS. Firstly how do I get on ICS? Can I do a OTA upgrade?
Someone please help me. Sorry if this is a repeat question but I been doing a lot of research to try to get this answered.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks was able to get ICS on my phone....just now having trouble with CM10 Hotspot..
1. I bought an AHD, ordered the international version, is this the Bell one? It does not own any logo on front o rear side. I mean, are there only 2 version of this phone? AT&T's whit the logo and Bell's which I own?
2. What is ''cheescake'' jelly bean? Is this a Custom ROM or a Rom just like CyanogenMod?
3. I made the motofail2go root process and it is works just great. Now If I want to flash back ICS, I just have to download the RSD Lite, download the .zip firmware and make the common process? What is the xml file? I thought it was just like Samsung firmwares and Odin.
I'm an old XDA member but newbie on Motorola.
Thanks for the support so far!

Can't answer first question, Ill let someone else.
Cheesecake JB is a leaked version of 4.1 for our phone. It's official from Motorola, just yet to be released.
motofail2go has not flashed a new version of android, you're still on ICS. But if you weren't/aren't, I suggest downloading the new Atrix HD Utility and flashing the Stock firmware.
RSD would be the equivalent to Odin for Motorola, but in my personal experience, it's very finnicky. Definitely use the Atrix HD Utility, it seems to be very successful.
Hope this helped even a bit, good luck pal.
Thanks for the help and quick reply dude!
But the Atrix hd utility isn't ONLY for AT&T branded phones?

Yes, it doesn't work currently on Bell.
PS this should have gone in the Q&A not General

Bell one still untested as the post says, has anyone tried out this release?
The non branded AHD is a bell model. You can always go to settings > about phone and look there to see wht version u have.

Do NOT upgrade to JB V20a/b under any circumstances! Heating is terrible, battery life almost the same or worse in stand by, few tweaks that are good but nothing worth upgrading. Better upgrade to CM, it should be completed soon.
Used jb for 1day back to ics.

still use stock jb rom (20A) with iodak kernel, and I think for the time being it's the best combination for me

Get Jelly bean, root it and remove bloatware. This way you get the best performance and some nice features from jelly bean update. CM is buggy currently and removing bloatware in Jelly bean is the best experience you can get from this phone, that is if you want to root. if not, you are better off in ICS.
I have not used my phone long enough to know whether ICS was better than V20a. I updated immediately. Going back from JB to ICS is a sore, but I am going test ICS again after a month.
what is last official update for atrix hd .
which firmware is best for battery life ?
Stock wise 4.1.1 and it will be the last update ever for atrix Hd.
For battery life you can't go wrong with Cyanogen

4.1.1 which i kinda old and they wonder why we unlock our devices it because it take them ages to update it and were only getting 4.1.1 stock
sorry mini rant:laugh:
how about suport?
The Atrix 4g didn't get to much roms cause of missing drivers. (It has roms but they have to many issues with no fix)
Is this Atrix more open to development? I mean, do developers have more complete set of drivers this time from motorola?
The issues at this point in time are all pretty minute I'd say.

They already forgot about it. Doesn't matter though. We have a pretty active dev team.
