4.1.2 Last official update? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well, few days back i came to know that samsung released kernel source for gtn7000 and few of sam mobile users reported that "THIS WILL BE THE LAST OFFICIAL UPDATE".Any further info on this?

First things first.
You are a Noob. This is the wrong section. Should have looked at the video when registering (Noob Level: over 9000)
Second I can't report this because I'm on xda premium for Android.
Third This may be the last version N7000xxlsZ the letter Z. But there is a little hope, because I heard Google will more support manufactures like Samsung with updates. You can try custom Roms if you want.

Each android oem has fixed a service life of their device which is mostly around 18 months. If key lime pie appears before september then hopefully we will get it. Otherwise we will get the custom rom for it. So no worries yet.
The only problem Samsung faced with n7000 is its non standard resolution. This takes time for adjustment.

Framework?

I bet my balls it's the last update.

Yeah I agree, no way we get any Key Lime Pie from Samsung.. I would bet only the 2gb RAM Samsung phones get it.

I think we will get the update, as samsung grand is out with jelly bean recently and there is quite a high possibility that grand will get the update to klp.... So if grand gets it with 1 ghz processor and 1 gb ram, why wouldn't we get it!!

I think that 4.1.2 will be the last android update for the N7000.
However, I'm pretty sure that LSZ / LSF will not be the last firmware updates provided by Samsung.

Yea 4.1.2 is the last update for our note
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium

Based on sammobile(which is a nonofficial Samsung site) old phone-tablet Galaxy Tab 7 still got an update for Germany as late as October 2012 exactly 2 years after it was launched. So the galaxy note should also get updates until October this year. On what country only Samsung knows/decides....

N7000 is one of the luckiest android device to receive 3 major android updates till now. I dobt doubt that samsung will release a minimalistic update of KLP on it. If google releases it early. All depends upon the timing of google i/o. Plus if it somehow gets the KLP. it will be the only android phone along with s2 which will taste the most android flavors. Lets hope for the best.

Why the hostility? Chill. People (even noobs) come here to learn.

You guys keep talking about Key Lime Pie but you are forgetting about 4.2.1. Samsung will probably spend sometime updating devices to this version first since not even S3 got it yet.

Well soon oem will be left behind in android updates and some oems will even miss the intermediate updates. Google will have to wait Before running too fast or vendors will switch the OS.

Nexus one wasn't really for cusumer use, more of a dev phone. Just fanboys build up non-sense hype.
Top much competition in the OS market.but google is safe from its rivals because of its service. But because now more companies want to have the similar services. These upcoming OS are a good platform to furnish with those services.

Yes Ubuntu phone looks very cool on the GNex. I will definitely try it when its available for the N4 because the desktop mode is a killer feature!
......via Nx4
They better not release some motorola X phone 5 months after the Nexus 4. Boy will I be pissed about that if they do!
Really looking forward to KLP (pretty much confirmed to be the name and v5.0) when it comes out in June. Also hopefully I can get a ticket to IO 2013 :fingers-crossed:
Sony us the next manufacturer.. just google it. Klp ll be launched with it
Sent from my Xperia P using xda premium
I heard Sony too, which did put me off the Nexus 4 a bit, Sony > LG in my experiences.
i doubt there will be a new device launched at IO they only just launched and sorted out their supply issues of N10 and N4. i reckon they will give out white versions of the N4 at IO like shown in the leaked photos, and MAYBE the nexus 7 refresh will appear; releasing a new phone now will kill sales of the N4 and it wont happen nexus 5 or w/e it will be will be seen around sept/nov like every previous phone.
How do we know it will be called key lime pie? It seems to me that we're now on beans, so I think they'll call it "kidney bean", and then after that, "lima bean."
Neither kidney or lima beans are desserts.

Don't think it's anything to freak out about. It's just a leaked ROM which means it most likely already exists for the N4 it just hasn't been leaked. When the GPE phones get an official update before us then we can lose our s***. That won't ever happen though.

Most likely few people outside of Google have the Nexus 4 4.3 version. That is probably why you rarely see leaks with Nexus devices. Probably there are quite a few people outside of Google testing 4.3 on the GE phones. So it makes sense there was a leak. It sounds like 4.3 is going to hit soon anyways.
It will come when it comes. If 4.3 is almost ready for the sgs4 and the one it is probably ready to go for the nexus line as well.
Its not like we are hurting for good ROMs and kernels for this phone and need 4.3 to make are phones usable.

Exactly, 1 or 2. Some of people would also rely on developers and just wait for them to fix bugs in stock rom, but imagine that untested or not tested enough build is released today for nexus 4, we all know how many stupid threads about "how google could release builds like this" woukd be created so people have to decide, if they want android quicker, or more bugless

I hate to ruin the mood guys, but I'd take this with a pinch of salt. A huge one.
That post appears to be copypasted from this site:
http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/506245/20130916/android-4-kitkat-os-18-smartphones-tablets.htm
And this site has no sources whatsoever (sure, all the newer devices are pretty much guaranteed, but some I have serious doubts about, no sources are cited)
Furthermore, their 'deduction' for the Galaxy Ace and the Mini (as well as the S2, which is plausible) comes from this article, which seems to have started the rumours (Sep. 8):
http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/504507/20130908/samsung-galaxy-s2-ace-mini-android-4.htm#.UkqM731uvMJ
Again, same site, note how they have no sources whatsoever to back up their claims
Plus (and I mean this with the least amount of offence, so please don't tear me apart as I don't say this with the intent to offend) it makes no sense why some phones such as the Galaxy W and the Galaxy S (bear in mind its a former flagship), arguably more capable of running such as update aren't even conjectured about whereas the Mini and the Ace are.
So I don't want to be the person to rain on your parade, but, I remain skeptical. If its true, great. But until that happens, I wouldn't be so sure.

guys there where other threads before on the same thing and they where debunked so I see no reason for another to exist.
galaxy mini and ace are permanently discontinued devices so samsung wont waste resources porting 4.4 to these devices as they gain nothing from it.
another prossiblity is that mini i yes mini i that is GT-S5570I and ace i or GT-S5830I can get the update if rumours if at all are to be believed as they are still in production.
Also to add to an already boiling pot I just read that 4.4 will be 64 bit processors only
so to all who read this these are all rumours so take them as they come and wait for google to release 4.4 to get all excited ...

christianpost is full of click bait articles that have no basis in reality. They literally have daily stories going back a few months saying the nexus 10 (2013 edition) has been confirmed for release on a specific date (which changes every time it passes).
not saying 4.4.1 is not coming definitively, just saying that news source is worthless.

Agreed. christianpost and ibtimes are the two biggest google news spammers I've seen. I wish google news had a way to filter out specific sites. Again, 4.4.1 might be coming (and probably is). But I usually disregard both of the above sites as well as any other news site that quotes one of them as sources.
if there was an update coming, we'd see it on a more major site like android central, android police, droid life or even engadget... not to mention any posts from anyone in the know on G+
just my thoughts.
While I do agree with you all there is one thing that makes me think this is true. LLabTooFeR is very accurate when it comes to releases and if he stated it was coming to the HTC One soon then the nexus would get it first. He is a very reputable and accurate informer when it comes to updates.

Agreed, Football is generally right on when it comes to timing of releases for HTC devices. Did he say when 4.4.1 was coming or did he just say soon?
It doesn't take a genius to know 4.4.1 is going to be released for the N5 at some point. Nothing any news site so far has posted has any real inside info as to the date. So we will just have to wait and see.

I think you're having a bit of a stroke... Marshmallow hasn't even finished Manufacturer Development as of today; what are you on about?

Again, not breaking news. "Manufacturer Development" means that Samsung is currently working on Android 6.0 for the S6, Note 5, etc.
We already knew that.
When it reaches "Carrier Testing", we'll still have significant waiting before it is actually pushed OTA.

I'm new to this part of the Forums, and a long time T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy User since the S3..
T-Mobile is notorious for screwing its subscribers from the big OS updates.. The Galaxy S4 to which every other provider pushed Lollipop to their devices, where T-Mobile did absolutely nothing.. I have this Device on order by Monday.. I'm not expecting T-Mobile to provide any more updates than It already has.. The Galaxy S7 is around the corner and will likely be released early to get the early jump over Apple.. Sorry to say but we will likely not receive any more updates.. I think we will be stuck.. 3rd Party Development is likely our only hope.. And I hope I'm wrong..

It will happen. It's already stated on the T-Mobile page, and this device isn't even a year old. It launched with lollipop 5.0.2 and is at 5.1.1 right now. marshmallow is still very recent
