Several options:
1. Make a nandroid backup in cwm. Makes a 1 on 1 copy of your rom on the sd card. Reinstalling it recreates the rom with all apps and settings. Only suitable for custom roms, not for stock roms.
2. Use Titanium Backup: it's able to backup all your apps, including system settings, game levels, etc, etc. Has many options, so look carefully what you're doing.
By the way, this is a question for the questions and answers section. Not for development section.

Moved to Q&A

Hi this not the place to ask every single option
You have been suggested to use rom toolbox and now you find yourself on how to make backup through the app
Just play with it for some time and you will get to know everything
Best regards

As for me, the best backup app is My Backup Root. Works really well for me. Backup all contacts, sms, mms call log, apk + data. Just make sure your phone is rooted. Try follow this post.

NANDROID. It's the best backup. Using app for backup isn't efective.
Cause when you entered bootloop you can't open the app. While NANDROID can be restored with a Custom Recovery.

yeah do a nandroid backup of rom, once you've. made a backup of rom you can use an app called "app extractor" ( there's a pro version also but you don't need it) to extract the apps and reinstall them so you don't have to flash the whole rom.

Use CWM recovery
or try using this apps:
Go Backup Pro
Titanium Backup
My Backup Pro
But you need to be rooted

Roomtool box or nandroid backup or titanium backup is the best

Installing apps after flashing new rom

Hi ppl
Is there any way to have all apps installed the way it was before switching to a new rom ? I mean when I try out new roms I have to install all apps again. I've tried my backup pro and titanium but they only restore all apps. Anyone has a faster way of doing this??
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA
I'm using MyBackup root therefor. Here you can restore all apps with the data in batch mode. But I think MyBackup pro should also do it.
Did u backup your apps along with all their data? There is an option in Titanium Backup to do so in the batch option. I still have my high scores of Temple Run
MyBackup Pro seems to be the best bet considering Titanium does create issues for some folks.
But do remember restoring apps can produce errors in the working of the ROM which otherwise wouldn't exist.
Safest best is to clean instal your apps again.
Tx guys but I cannot get all apps installed . It only restores them with their respective data. I don't wanna install all apps again one by one after flashing a new rom

Titanium backup has a batch restore mode where you can restore more than one app at a time. If this is not what you mean, I don't have a clue what you're talking about.
I haven't used titanium but I'll check it out. Just to make sure do the apps get installed or just restored? I mean do I have to hit the install button for every app?

Listen buddy, this is a community here. Respect others to get respect for yourself.
Your posts are quite inconsistent.
In the same thread, at the start of the post you mentioned you have used Titanium & a couple of posts later you state you HAVE NOT yet used titanium.
with incorrect/incomplete info no one would be able to assist you correctly & your frustration levels are going to rise.
@letmedanz I didn't mean to disrespect anyone but the way nonverbose responded wasn't cool.
Anyway what I meant when I said I used titanium was that I installed it and removed it within minutes. But I'm not here to prove anything so am gonna forget it and apologize to whoever I offended.

That's cool buddy..
Anyhow, a couple of options are available...
at most times when you install a fresh rom, android automatically installs the apps you had on earlier.
This happens when you run the new rom for the first time, in the initial setup.
Provided you have synced your phone with your gmail account.
once you provide your wifi and/or apn details android will automatically download and instal all the apps.
your second option is as you mentioned, third party apps like titanium & mybackup pro.
personally, i prefer MBP cos titanium has given me more than one problem.
MBP is a neat app, you can either backup/restore all apps or just select a few.
howevre , i still believe it is best to reinstall all apps after a new rom instal, cos restored apps may force close or have other issues specially if you are changing between GB & ICS etc
+1 for Titanium backup !!!
You can backup personnal applications, but their settings and your system settings too !!!
The retore process is quicker than google process because you haven't to download applications from network.

I have titanium backup pro and have not figured out how to restore all the settings. Maybe I'm confused, but I have to spend hours setting all the preferences, screens widgets etc each time I flash a new ROM. I've heard you can "Image" backup. Does Titanium do that?
Go backup and go backup pro is best..It don't prompt to install each and every app every time..batch restore with data..easy than titanium backup..

Make sure you know what you're talking about before you post. Titanium backup pro HAS batch restore mode in which you don't have to INDIVIDUALLY install every app.

[Q] help with a fresh cyanogen 10 install

hi, i have 2 questions please. although i am a 9300 user i have a problem helping a friend with his 9000. just installed CM10(4.1.2) and all works perfect. My 2 questions are:
1. figured/solved
2. how can i install a "samsung type" of contacts app?
my phone uses the same 4.1.2 but it's a stock based rom, and he really needs the contacts app like in the stock rom.
thank you for any help. i have not posted in cyanogen topic because is not necessary "cyanogen only" related but apologize if i should have done so.
Your own phone is rooted? If so, Titanium Backup should be your friendly neighbourhood system app installer. Backup your own, apply the backup on your friend's phone

You can't install the original Samsung contact app even with TitaniumBackup. It needs the touchwiz framework to run.

If you dont want to pay for Titanuim backup then you can always use App Backup Restore!
It works really well otherwise use the cracked apk for Titanium backup
Titanium Backup also backups the market link of apps so upon restoring, the apps will automatically be linked to the market ensuring further updates..

But for that i ll have to go back to my old rom, take backup using titanium, come back to cm. :/
i tried to restore cwm backup, but it says md5 mismatch.
what to do now ?
I think you can't restore stock based rom from cm because of the diff kernel. Not sure though.

oh yeah. just remembered that as you told. and that is true..
now, to restore, i will have to flash stock from odin>root>kernel>restore>backup>cm>restore!

MD5 fail is a bug. Go to your SD Card --> CWM folder ----> backup folder -----> delete the old md5 file and create a md5 file. ---> now should restore

[Q] Migrate to cyanogenmod - data backup

Hi!
I have a question about data backup (I mean installed user apps, contacts,...) when migration to another ROM.
So. I want to migrate to cyanogenmod 10.1 (link) from official samsung ROM. Now I am wondering if it is possible to migrate all my data stored on the phone. Therefore I will not have to install all my apps from market again one by one.
I have purchased Titanium Backup Pro and I am looking for some help.
Thank you & I hope this is not answered already.
İ use nandroid manager for it . i didn`t see any problems. But you have to make a nandroid back up before flashin new rom .

For contacts, i recommend merging it with google and you can get it back on any device, including IOS
Backing up data
1. Open up Titanium Backup
2. Click the icon at the top right (a piece of paper with a tick)
3. Click Backup all user apps (choose the ones you want to backup)
4. Once you're done, repeat step 2 then click backup system data
5. Chose the yellow or green coloured ones, ignore the reds (read this for green ones)
6. ????
7. Profit

You might want to explore with the settings and batch actions
Make your back up from recovery
Wipe data dalvik cache and cache
İnstall the rom and gapp
After configration cm 10.1 download nandroid manager from play store
Select your back up and select install data and user aplication
