AndroidHoneyCom: Is there any info of jellybean 4.2.2 coming for the xperia T?
CS SUPPORT: At the moment the only information available that we have of the software upgrade of the Jelly Bean will be that is going to be released on the second quarter of the year.
But it doesn´t says that is 4.2.2 may be it will be a firmware upgrade based on 4.1.2
Second quarter means... almost NOW? It's April and obviously Q2 2013 ends in June.
I barely believe their "the only information" ;D
First of all I don't think they are going to give off information just like that. They'll announce it when it's time. So be patient.

Setting ad we are in the second quarter now, and we are currently in the middle if a jelly bean update, I think they are talking about this one.... Why would they do this small firmware update if they were going to update the version in a few weeks

Usually the support chat do not know what they are talking about. They only copy and paste answers from the product blog. I think they are referring to the Jelly Bean update for the other 2012 phones.
TX should get JB4.2.2 too

In the quote you posted there is nothing about the exact version of Jelly Bean in question.
4.1.2 is Jelly Bean, so is 4.2.x.
Anyone got any idea at all when we might see 4.2.2 for the T/TL/TX/V?

Let's hope they skip it and go straight to klp, if the hardware is up to it!

What you are doing is called wishful thinking (if I'm trying to be positive), but in reality this qualifies for trolling.
Stop spreading disinformation. If you are not sure, at least be polite and put a question mark at the end of the thread subject.

We are in the second quarter and we have just had a JB update.

Hi sorry if this is the wrong section.
I like many other people have an Xperia z with bootloader unlock status = no.
I thought this could be a place to discus possible solutions and I will keep the opening post up to date with the latest development if any.
I do not claim to have extensive knowledge on such matters and therefore I am opening my phone up for testing any ideas devs may have to help out with development.
I am more than willing to read up and learn as much as I can to help out with this and I have one idea to propose that I'm sure will be up for critique.
My proposed idea is to place a kernel with the correct signature in an ftf that when flashed opens up all partitions to read/write then from there we in theory could change the fastboot permissions to yes or flash an unlockable bootloader image (do we have a system dump containing this?)
As I say thus is only an idea and I am willing to help out any dev that can help with this. I would also be willing to make a donation towards the dev(s) that help achieve this, and I am sure many others will too.

Getting it signed is mostly the issue.
If we could do that we wouldn't need to unlock the boatloader, as the system would accept what we flashed.
It would be nice if the method Sony use to sign was leaked, that would make things a bit easier..
I've spent a few weeks trying to find exploits, the way the moto devices were unlocked, by breaking the trust kernel, but I Can't see anything, and haven't got anywhere with it yet.

Cool so is there a method for duplicating the signature? What do we know about the signature? Is it a constant or dose it differ between devices?

Nothing. That's why there's not much to do about the bootloaders.

Is there nothing generic for gaining access to the Qualcomm processor and rewriting the bootloader
Sent from mars
I had a thought the other day about the kernel that comes with Sony's AOSP, if it's signed by Sony I wondered if that or the full ROM could be put in an ftf and flashed, which I assume would/could give us the possibility to then be able to unlock.

The certs are tied to each phone uniquely like IMEI and in fact are tied to this as well as some other unique identifiers of the individual phone, someone will have to try to hack or steal Sony's trusting authority for the locally installed certificates

Does that explain why flashing someone else's TA hardbricks the device? Or is that only part of the picture e.g. TA also tied to unique hardware ID's.?

What if we change IMEI in the TA i hexedited my and clearly seen my IMEI number... Is that way possible? unless the ta file is checked against its own hash... But devs did that with nvidia's GPU firmware. However im not a dev just generating ideas...

Any idea is better than no idea mate.
Changing imei is risk I think our best bet is to look into working out the Sony signing method then creating a kernel signed in this way to rewrite all partitions to that of an unlocked device (unless devs then adopt signing all kernels in this fashion) or if we use an exploit as seen by Dan Rosenberg on the s4.

Try to see something in work ... My company repairing the Xperia Z also next to other phones like htc samsung etc etc... if i can sneak the dev program in, could try find a weak point unfortunately i am at htc line @level 3 and myself only touching circuit boards. My friend on sony, and he has access to mainboards and we can return a faulty board within the company as "New Faulty" Not once, we seen CM mod on boards that not even supposed to came in. because the so called "Illegal software modification" I can sneak sd cards in but not out... "freak metal detectors on the gates"... if a dev working on something may able to help cut corners.

Anything you could do would be great mate. The most amazing thing you could do would be to obtain the signing software or a ftf of a early dev Rom of some sorts.

I have a vodafone factory locked sony xperia T, bought an unlock code for the device then i descover that 0 tries left. whenever i enter the unlock code it says "wrong code"
by the way i bought all levels codes but 0 tries left for all.

I thought Vodafone didn't lock their devices, it may already be SIM unlocked. All my Vodafone devices are always SIM free

if vodafone locked the device, it might be possible that they changed the unlock code.
also when going to service info->sim lock, if you device is sim unlocked all the values are 0, so maybe your device is already unlocked

Look folks,
I strongly suspect this is a con.
XDA is about freely sharing ideas and developing, putting a random post saying "I can help you, please get in touch" leads me to believe he is expecting money for his services (Which is OK) but in this case I suspect he cannot do what he claims, otherwise there will be more evidence...
yes, exactly, this is a place where I can share all my knowlagde from my expirience, but here are 99% of members are smarter than me & they still can not find Sony counter block solution, everyone is looking for free solution, if you are smart enough, why not to post here free solution? ohh, I forgot one thing, because nobody have this free solution & will not have next 1 year at least.
if I claim got solution, that means I can do that for 100% no matter it's paid or free sloution, I don't throw words in air like someone else

Hi,
My Xperia Z got stolen nearly a month ago!! Unfortunately, I didn't had anything installed on it that could help me track it down.. But it came with McAfee security installed as standard!! I had it registered but was not using it. On the McAfee website it shows my IMEI number.. but since my subscription has expired I cannot track it from there.. My question is, whoever stole my device obviously did a factory reset! As standard Mcafee should be up and running(atleast I hope so) do you think I should buy mcafee subscription,?? Is there a chance that I would be able to track my device back?? if anyone here know, weather the McAfee registration gets reseted if you do a factory reset?? Cause I did a few data wipe, for the brief time I had my phone.. It was always there.. and it didn't allow me to uninstall it..
Any inputs on weather buying th McAfee subscription will help me or not.. will be very usefull!! Thanks
Honestly not sure if it will help, but try it anyway.
You should've had an antitheft app installed for this very reason....

Truth be told, Sony just launched the MyXperia stuff that helps you track and trace your phone with this link https://myxperia.sonymobile.com/ unfortunately it has to be activated on the phone. McAfee might be able to help you but I wouldn't hold my breath on that matter, good luck hunting down your phone!
Well, I know that there is very little if any chance of me finding my phone back.. But thank you for the input.. I'll try buying the Mcafee subscription, and see if it can locate my phone (fingers crossed).. The my xperia was not available to everyone when my phone got lost.. so no luck with that. till sony does not introduce something to keep track of their devices with IMEI, it thinks it pretty impossible!!

It´s bad luck.
I don't know how your local police work if I am totally honest but over here in the UK the police can track phones that are stolen, if there is enough evidence it was stolen and such. Speak to the fuzz, see what they say, the worst they can do is nothing, but nothing for free is better than paying for it.
So I found a Z1 on the street but it is locked by pattern, it's bootloader is locked and i don't know what to do, I'm thinking bout flashing a stock firmware but I'm not so sure if that'll work... any advice?
