[Q] Anyone with no soft keys and an actual fullscreen wallpaper? - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all!
For people with rooted phones.
Do any of you actually get a fullscreen wallpaper when soft keys are removed?
If so, what have you modified / apps installed?
I'm using Hide bottom bar ("Hide bar")
And tried with countless wallpaper apps, but to no avail.
1/3rd of the space previously occupied by the soft keys stays black.

You probably need to modify the framework for that.

Fullscreen Toggle (here from XDA) + Nova Launcher. Hidden Notification.
Works like it should

By god must I have been blind?!
I have been to that thread where the .apk is before.
Well, guess I need to be spoonfed things once in a while.
This solved it!
The "Hide Bottom Bar" also removed the status bar completely, not making it possible to hide/show with any launcher.
Now this is possible again with the use of launcher.
Also the whole screen is now covered by the wallpaper, which is the most important thing.

[Q] LauncherPro - How to add apps to the task/quick launch bar

Can anyone tell me how to add apps to the little bar on the bottom of Launcher Pro? Right now I have the default phone, chat, apps, browser, music but I've seen pictures of people who actually have real apps pinned down there. I tried click/holding on the icon and it give me the option to...
"Change Shortcut"
"Change Icon"
"Swipe Gesture Action"
When I click Change Shortcut, my screen goes black for a second and then comes right back to the main desktop and thats it. Am I missing something? I'd like to remove all the generic, ghosted, white icons and pin the real ones down there instead.
Thanks
This question gets asked a lot and I mean a LOT. Use the search function next time.
But to answere, the NookColor version of Android doesn't have a shortcut picker so doing this with any launcher will crash it. There is currently no fix but there is a work around.
If you have launcher pro on your phone you can set it up how you want it for the Nook and then make a backup. Copy the backup to the Nook and restore it there. You will need an SD card for this.
The work around to getting apps on the dock bar for Launcher Pro is too much work for me, haha. I tried Zeam and ADW.Launcher and discovered both will allow you to just drag/drop to the dock bar instead.
Ya I should have searched better, my bad. Just found the answer 10 times over after a bit more reading. I ended up just using ADW instead since this is my only android device so no backup to take from a phone.

[Q] notification bar

Is there a way to make the notification bar wider? Old age is making it difficult to read the time.
And while I'm at it, is there any way to make icons larger? Same problem. Same cause.
Thanks in advance.

Samsung Galaxy S i9000
Android 2.3.3
I am not so old but even then wanted more options in notification bar so can it be customized to slide left & right & have more items to display by user choice.
There is no way that I know of to make the notification bar wider... if you want to increase the size of icons you can get a custom launcher from the market eg. launcher pro or adw launcher(you will need to get the paid versions), this will allow you to click and hold onto WIDGETS to resisze them
I know not every icon you use is/has a widget, so if you get desktop visualizer(free in market) it adds widgets to the size you want and you can like it to other widges, shortcuts apps and more
does take some time to get use to it... here is a link to some phones that used this method to make larger icons... they did use custom icons put you can use regular app icons

[Q] Hide Nav Keys with LG Home

I've been using Nova Launcher because I love the launcher and it's abilities, but I really like the LG Home launcher as well.
But I have a stock rooted G2 and want as much screen real estate as possible so I hide the Nav Bar, but on the LG Home launcher the screen does not fully stretch to the bottom of the screen, shown in the pic's below. I use the app Auto Hide Soft Keys from the Play Store to hide my keys. Anyone got any help?

You can't. The app is built like that, where every other launcher is DPI fitting and screen fitting, the LGHOME.apk is not, built only for the LG G2, after all, why would they implement a feature that the average user will not use?

[Q][D5803] Navbar is no longer transparent.

Yesterday i noticed that my Navbar is no longer fully transparent. I think it started after i installed Tapet, and applied a wallpaper.
I uninstalled the app but it still something wrong.
On brighter screens i can see the edge and The Navbar being a lil bit darker.
In apps like reddit News beta, It's now completely black.
This annoys me above and beyond! Please help me.

go to Setting > apps > all
check if there any app related to apet and other 3rd party app that modify graphical interface.
uninstall them and reboot phone.

:good:
Are you using any theme other than the built-in xperia themes?
Also, it's normal that the nav bar is not transparant in all apps.
Is the bar still transparant on your home screen?
Have you tried rebooting your phone?

I use Nova Launcher.
I know, but since day one its been transparent in almost all my apps, such as Javelin , Timely, RedditNews and so on. Now its not.
The bar is not completely transparent on the home screen, i can see the edge and its a bit darker, like i said.
(I cant show you any pictures because of the 10 post rule)
I have booted and just now i did a factory reset, and it did nothing.

Is the situation the same in Xperia Home?
Seems strange to me that a factory reset would not fix this kind of problem. Perhaps a software repair in PC Companion?

[Q] Change home button icon

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the home button icon, i.e rather than a picture of a little house, have say a car, or writing like "Xperia", or anything else?
Also, is it possible to just change the app icons, rather than having a launcher to change the whole home screen like Nova Launcher. I like the way I have arranged my apps and widgets etc, and I use my own pictures for backgrounds, I would just like to use different icons for the apps?
Thanks - I am new to the forum so apologies - I am not a developer, have not rooted my phone and don't know what to do with apk ?

O.K, let's simplify this...
Root device and install xposed framework.
Install Xperia xposed module and you'll be able to change home button/icon.
Install Unicon, xposed module to change apps icons.
Download themes from market (for ADW launcher) and use those themes icons.
- You'll get it once you open unicon -
There are other ways to change app icons and home button, decompiling apk and change ongs (assets) in xxhdpi folder but without root there's no chance to do that...
And yeah...you are in wrong section buddy..
Use Q&A for this types if threads.
You can change the home/back etc. buttons by changing your xperia specific theme in the appearance section in your settings. I personally have applied an Android L theme and have the official 5.0 square, triangle and circle.
As for the icons, I don't think so, unless you're willing to install a custom launcher. I recommend nova, you can categorize your apps just as efficiently if not more with the Prime version.
This is the way to go if you don't want to root your device as the upper poster suggested.
The best way is changing theme apperance.
There's an app on the Play Store called Softkeyz which dies exactly that.

"unicon" app (xposed module) can change app icons in xperia home launcher. download any icon pack and apply it
``
you can change it by rooting your phone , and xposed installed . then you use module 'xStana'{Recommended} or 'XPERIA/AOSP NavBar Button' for the softkey , you can change what you like .
