[Q] what are the cons of Xperia Z? - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm going to buy Xperia z in a few days - months, my question is: what have let you down in Xperia Z?
I already know about screen.
I kindly ask people which don't own this phone to not answer.
As I've seen many of the devs are going to buy or already have Xperia z, (im coming from Xperia Play and I've had great developers, most of them have moved to newer device, so I I'm going to do the same).
So to make it quick: what you don't like in your phone?

The phone is amazing I am happy with everything apart from the camera quality in low light situations, the camera is excellent in outdoor good light photos but poor in my opinion indoors. I would definitely recommend this phone hopefully a update might sort the camera out.

- the phone gets hot when you use it to much
- Screen on time is about 3.5-4.5h
- backside is glass
- the screen doesn't work when full of water
- It is big, sometimes doesn't reach the whole screen with the tumb without moving my hand position.
- camera doesn't always make good pictures.
But how hard you want to value which con is your opinion! IMHO i dislike the glass back... and i wish i had way better battery... but this are dreams.

Get it because it's an awesome phone. Ignore the claims that the screen isn't good. I mean, how retarded do you have to be to complain about the fact that the viewing angle is crap when you hold it at like 5 degree. The colours are way better than on Samsung Galaxy Phones.

I don't know, how many smartphones you had before, but I can assure you that it doesn't get hotter than the competition. Actually, a Galaxy S 2 gets hotter than the Xperia Z. And listing the glass-back as well as the size as a cons (or saying you dislike that) isn't really fair since those features were well known before you decided to buy it. And why would you like to use the screen under water?

In respect to the phone getting hot, I would say this is the same for most smartphones of this ilk. My Desire, Arc and XS, got very hot, but this is considered to be quite normal and nothing to worry about.
The XZ is a wonderful device. It's a noticeable upgrade from my XS and a fair bit bigger, but all in all no complaints.

The only negative points I can think of is that the camera ap starts up quite slow and that you can't change toggles in the notification bar by default.
Those are 2 things that should/could be solved really easy though.

Main things:
1) Camera app is sluggish, as already mentioned
2) Speaker on side - gets blocked by hand so you have to learn a new grip in order to not muffle your music/phone call
3) Power button on middle of right side - if you take a call when the phone's in a car dock doing satnav stuff, the phone (according to how it's set) can lock and turn the display off after the call so you have to try and press the button - which might mean taking the phone out of the dock while driving (or not!). I ended up installing an app that wakes up the phone when I wave near its proximity sensor.

noticed only this when shootin video in dark places and you turn on the light. the light is bad. miss has xperia t and light on her device is much more brighter. also in call volume isnt that great but im sure devs or sony will fix this up (lower volume because water proof cover). camera app is
indeed slow when u run it but i think its because its same app as it was on xperia x1 and didnt get much love
about camera learn basics bout takin pics and set camera to manual you will get great results
about speaker on side .. no problem for me cuz im left handed
about screen dont belive those reviews screen is really great and i mean great

I've went to the shop to check it out, most of these cons can be software-fixed.
But my biggest point in cons is
- speaker is crappy when playing music (no bass, I'm comming from xperia play which had 2 stereo speakers and they were great) not fixable
Viewing angles aren't that bad actually, it may be a little bit worse than top phones from other manufacturers but it's not that bad
I'd like to have an opinion from somebody about the battery...
Thanks to everyone for giving me some more advices for checking it out myself

The battery is amazing, playing game for 10 minutes, downloading apps and games from playstore, web browsing, and xda app.it last for 6 hours screen on time.could last for a day with 4 hours screen on.

Battery at stand by is excellent can go for 35hr with light use.
Battery at Screen time is good, I can go up to 4 hours.
My only con is screen in bright sun

Odp: [Q] what are the cons of Xperia Z?
So by saying it lasts 6 hours with screen on this means that it will go from 100% to 0% after 6 hours screen on, right? Well that's not a huge step but it's not bad, thanks

Sony Xperia T - my review

Now that I had enough time to play with the Sony Xperia T, I can give you my impressions about the new flagship phone of the Japanese manufacturer. There are already a lot of reviews and comparisons on the Internet so I will just tell my personal feelings about the phone. From the beginning I have to tell you that I am not a Samsung fan (although they do great hardware, the design is crap and the interface is ugly) nor an Apple fan (as some say it is built for people with average to low IQ).
Coming back to Xperia T, the size and weight are OK, even though some people are complaining is heavy, I don’t have that problem, it fits well in my pocket. The material on the back side is also good, having good adherence with your hands. Power and volume buttons are placed on the right side (well placed for right handed people, I am not sure if left handed people are confortable with this).
Camera is one of the best features the Xperia T is having, you can shoot great pictures in 13 megapixels. What really stands out is the speed of the camera: in lock mode you can press the camera button and in less than 1.5 seconds you have the first shot. Don’t worry, the camera button is not easy to press in the pocket.
USB port supports also HDMI output and I was able to connect a USB to HDMI adaptor from Samsung to connect the phone to the TV (your TV must support HDCP). You need to connect the charging adaptor in order for this to work (but I guess this is the same for the Sony TV dock) and will keep you the phone charged. The good thing is that I have a Bluetooth keyboard (with touchpad) that I can connect to the phone and while connected to the TV i can really use the phone as normal PC! This feature probably works with other phones as well. Video output is 1080p so the quality on phone screen and TV is great. If you want to connect the phone to the car USB (for charging the phone or playing the music) you need to set USB to Mass Storage mode (MSC) in Settings - Xperia - Connectivity - USB connection mode.

I have had my SXT since saturday now and I think it is a great phone but there is quite a few negative points it has.
So let me get to them:
*the camera still has that issue of being slow to focus sometimes and in video aswell which means you still miss shots which really jarred me when i had the sxs.
*the speaker for earpiece and loudspeaker should have been louder as outside you cant hear the phone ring and you can barely hear what people are saying on the phone
*you can barely see the notifcation light unless the phone is directly infront of you
*Battery life is average, doesnt last a day under moderate usage, lasts about 20 hours

I actually like the fact that notification LED light is low with my Arc it was like a night lamp.
20 hours are enough for one day. During night I'm always charging the phone
For the earpiece and loudspeker I have to disagree, at least I didn't have such issues. for ringing I am using also vibrating mode
Earpiece and speaker seriously could be louder and the notification light could have been better, in these three aspects they have taken a backwards step from the xperia s imo.
As I use headsets for calls anyway phone calls isn't a issue.
The ARCs notification light was stupid as it was on the side of the phone which imo was pointless also.
Other than that I really enjoy my SXT.

I agree. I also barely see that notification light. On XPERIA S when I put it on charger notification light was lighting like flash. I had to cover it over night because notification light was so bright. Maybe something between notification light on XPERIA T and XPERIA S would be good.
When the light is poor camera is slow on focus almoust every time but outdoor over day everything is OK.
Everything else is excellent and no complaints.

Thanks for the info on the camera focus, however I wish SONY would fix that because my HOX focuses straight away in low light and so did the S3. Also I didn't mind the brightness of the LED on the xperia s, the sgs3 or my hox. I like it like that means I can just look over at my phone and see if i have a text or something at night as my phone has to be on silent as not to wake my daughter. As it is I have to pick the phone up and check.
Aside from that yea I really love my SXT and am looking forward to the Yuga or whatever it is going to be called.
hi. Im currently using HTC One V and planning to buy HTC One S, but unfortunately HTC One S in my region is theSnapdragon S3 version. so I'm thinking to buy this phone instead. one thing that bothering me is that it doesn't have a Gorilla Glass display (plastic body is OK). so my question is the Shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass on it's screen is as durable as Gorilla Glass screen? I like the phone in general. the other things that I like about this phone are community suport, official CM support etc.

It sort of is. The screenprotector (shatter-proof sheet) that is on there by default scratches easier than Gorilla Glass, but the glass itself is really quite durable!

thanks for the reply. do you think the phone still requires an additional screen protector? and what about a case/soft jacket etc, since the back cover is plastic, do you think it needs a case? (I'm afraid to squeeze it in my jean's pocket), but I can put this on my jacket though to prevent that. I'm going to buy it tomorrow (3 youtube videos make me love this phone):good:.
The Xperia T is the first phone where I've ever used the stock keyboard it comes with... I think its brilliant and so easy to type on.
There's lots of things I love about the phone, I do wish the notification LED was bigger however but meh... some phones don't even have one!
Thanks for the mini review of the Xperia T. I'm itching to purchase this baby, but will wait a few more days. The Xpera T will be an upgrade in terms of smartphone OS transition. Coming from a Nokia N8 handset, I don't feel the XT will be a huge upgrade seeing how the N8 is still the best camera phone as of this day and the 13MP on the XT, as stated by many reviews, just isn't that great (camera quality and dedicated camera button are huge decision makers for me).
Heck, every friend who played with my N8 thought it was running Android OS. :victory:
In terms of speed, I probably won't notice the lag even if lag was present if I were to compare it to the N8.
LED notification; the N8 notification light is horrible. I can definitely live with the "poor" notification light on the XT if it's significantly more noticeable than the N8.
Anyways, nice review.

Hi. Wellcome aboard N8 refugee. Been using it for about 7 hours now. You will not notice any lag whatsoever. The Krait processor is awesome. I bought this phone just because it has Snapdragon S4 processor, I don't use camera that much. The notification light issue is not a big deal for me.

My Xperia T still hasn't arrived (FedEx ) but my Xperia S has the same display type and I'd never cover it with yet another screen protector.
Just use it as it comes. The default screen protector will last you quite some time. I've had my Xperia S since the day of release, 8 months now and my display is still near-perfect. When you've got scratches on the display you just remove the "shatter-proof sheet" and replace it with your own screen protector and your display is as good as new!
Again, no experience with the T, but on my Xperia S the (probably significantly less rough) back got some glossy spots from the friction in my pockets. But the material is completely different so I can't say how the T will fare here...

Guys,
My wife is still using the X10 with the original screen protector. It is very good. I did the mistake to remove it from my old X10 and no other screen protector was good enough. But the screen was excellent even without screen protector. My advice is to keep it there, I have it on the Arc since 1.5 years and it's still OK.

[Q] Samsung vs Xperia Z

Hi
I'm currently using Samsung S3. So far I am happy with Samsung S3 for its fast processor, GPS starts fast etc.. Just that it's giving me eye strain perhaps due to prolonged use in the past, now I can hardly surf long in it. I'm thinking of Note 2 for its bigger screen (but I am fearful it will not resolve the eye strain).
Was wondering if Xperia Z would give me less eye strain.. Of course, I don't mind a nicer more solid external look Xperia Z has to offer but seems a big sacrifice of letting go of the following Samsung galaxy's benefits:
1. I am using Wanam lite rom which is excellent with its toggle buttons (allowing wifi, GPS, torchlight etc to be switched on/off easily) and making S3 sleeker. Was wondering if there is any great rom developed for Xperia Z to reduce battery consumption, increases performance and functionality.
2. Read GPS is slacking on Xperia Z. Is this true? I need my GPS to start fast when driving.
S3 GPS starts fast..
3. S3 screen seem scratch resistant relative to Xperia Z..
4. Long battery hour
5. S3 does not heat up like Xperia Z
That said, I am looking for a more solid built smartphone. I have a sony mp3 which I accidentally placed in washing machine along with soiled bedsheets - it survived fine. I was truly impressed...
Anyone who can provide me some feedback on my queries would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!
XZ might resolve your eyestrain problem, it uses different display, with full RBG matrix and it's 440+ ppi with 1080p resolution.
As for the rest of your questions:
1. There are custom roms for XZ already, take a look in Development section.
2. Haven't noticed and problems with GPS, it starts reasonably fast, certainly as fast as my old Note 2 - and Note 2 used the same chip/software as S3 so I'd say no problem here.
3. XZ screen is as scratch resistant as S3, or even more thanks to Dragontail glass. The "problem" is Sony put an anti-shatter film over the glass, and it's the film that get's scracthed, not the screen/glass. Some decide to remove the film, some choose to put a screen protector over it - both ways works fine for me.
4. Battery life is decent - it's not great, but it's not worse than S3's in that matter.
5. They actually heat up almost the same.
If you're after good design and build quality - XZ is a phone for you as long as you can overlook it's minor flaws ( yes, it does have flaws, like every single phone ). Also, Sony's stock firmware is brilliant, it's the first Android phone I haven't rooted and installed CM on it - because frankly, there's no need to do that at the moment.

Thanks! :good:
I've gone from a S3 to a Sony Z. There are some small things that I am getting used to but mostly enjoying the change.
Battery has been unbelievable in standby mode. Last night it dropped 1% in 7 hours after disabling most of the bloatware. I haven't started stamina mode even!
Took some time to go from S3s strong contrast screen but now much enjoy the XZs softer more realistic display.
I bought a Zagg back and front protector actually for grip. I don't wanna put a shell on it but with the glass face and back being quite slippery I thought it as a good compromise plus more protection.

Hi all
Thanks for the helpful feedback. Today, I went to try out both Samsung Note II and Sony XperiaZ and Nexus4. Quite like Sony xperia, however it seems when viewing the same fast and furious trailer on all the phones, Sony Xperia Z fared particularly badly. Nexus 4 and Note II give sharp images but not Sony Xperia Z. I wonder why. It's HD youtube, this one which was tested on all three smartphones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7zl_t48CMc Sony Xperia Z supposed to give good display, why is it so bad in this instance?

[Q] Without - Anti Shatter Film - display

Hi guys
Currently I'm using an s3 .. But am going to buy a new phone next month and I'm confused between Xperia Z and the Htc one
The only thing which I dont like about the Z is that when using the anti shatter film , the phone doesn't have good display from some angles ..
So I've searched alot to see if there is a difference in display after removing the anti shatter film .. But I found nothing
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

Well I must say I removed mine the other day and in my eyes the screen colours look better and to be fair that was the best thing I done for my phone is to take that **** off from the screen.
I have still got mine on and sorry can you tell me what angle is meant to be bad because I can't find it (if you understand what I am saying)
I cannot fault the XZ I have just had it over 2 months and extremely happy with it

Make it clear that with the latest firmware update, the Xperia Z received a significant improvement in Question colors, angles and contrast of the screen!
I removed my ASF and noticed an improvement in the brightness of the screen!

" the phone doesn't have good display from some angles "
I think the Z's display is fantastic. The fact that the viewing angle is somewhat narrow has an upside in that ambient light seems to be blocked out more effectively.

not only that, but there are 2 things i don't understand with this "viewing angle craze":
1. what person uses their phone while looking at it from a narrow angle ?
i'd say that probably 99% of the time, everyone uses their phone looking more or less straight at the display.
2. when i look at the prices for extra foils that secure the device from people looking over your shoulder... i'd say we already have that feature for FREE !!! (you know, it's not a bug, it's a FEATURE ! ).
Also, from what i could see (and read) about FW .253 the "problem" seems to be mostly gone or can at least be minimized through the new display balance settings.
More importantly: as long as you don't have another phone to compare it with you, you most likely won't have as much of a problem with the display as everyone says.
At least i know that i don't have any problems with it, i actually love the display (but i had a Xperia Arc before, so the bigger, brighter screen with its hd resolution is rather impressive in comparrison :cyclops: )

At least i know that i don't have any problems with it, i actually love the display (but i had a Xperia Arc before, so the bigger, brighter screen with its hd resolution is rather impressive in comparrison :cyclops: )

i agree with you,, 99% smartphone users tend to view it straight on..(including me)
IMO for bad viewing angles as they say, well for me its a very good thing,, of course i dont want my seatmate or anyone reading what messages im reading on,, what if you have some transactions with and will probably they will knew about it cause of the better viewing angle.. privacy issues right..
when watching movies or photo viewing, ur not watching a movie tilted..always dead on..
and on topic with ASF,,,i suggest not to remove it.. protection for unwanted scratches yes, but the best thing to do put thin screen protctor on top ASF.. if it wont bother you..

Have you tried treating your screen with for example a car glass wax? Keeps it free from fingerprints for quite some time without the need to get a screen protector replacement.

Do people put another screen protector on top of the anti shatter ?
My case came with screen protectors and I dunno if I should apply it

[Q] Your Opinion Please ! (on the Xperia Z)

Dear XDA fellows,
I currently have a Galaxy S2 but scratched its screen last Saturday.
I am thinking of buying a new phone with a low budget (less than 400€) and the Xperia Z seems to be a good phone. It looks resistant, has good specs, a big screen, big battery and is waterproof. But in order to make up my mind I need your opinion as long lime users.
Can you please tell me what you think of that device ?
Especially :
- Batter life
- Any major issue
- Resistance to scratches, drops...
- Possibility of easily flashing custom roms / kernels
- Anything I need to know about the phone
Thanks in advance for your help
Cheers
Battery life is far succeeded by Snapdragon 800 devices. The S4 Pro is getting old and doesn't have anywhere near as good the power management. Scratches are not a problem, mine is pristine after over a year, custom ROMs and stuff are easy to get. The headphone jack needs a flap, whereas the Z1/Compact and Z2 are uncovered. The bezels are quite large and the camera processing needs work (Cybershot add-ons by the community are here though). I'd go for the Z1 Compact, performance will be much better with the (still very high quality) 720p screen and much better processor. The camera is the same as in the Z1 (and Z2 if I'm not mistaken). The Z1C also fixed issues regarding the screen viewing angles (I've never noticed any issues with my Z, and have compared it side by side to a Z1).

My Xperia Z experience:
- Been using it for 13 months now
- Never used a case
- Screen protectors on both front and back from day one
- Dropped the phone: twice
Now to answer your questions:
- Battery life: satisfactory. It's on par with most smartphones really. 1 day of intensive use and 2 days of slight use. Surprisingly, after over a year, I didn't notice a drop of battery life.
- Major issues: poor viewing angles, you will get used to it, but it's a bit annoying sometimes.
- Resistance to scratches: if you're going to use screen protectors - nothing to worry about. If you're not going to use a screen protector - you're going to pretty much f... your phone as there a shatterproof film on it, and that gets scratched easily. So just stick the bundled protector on the front and the back and you're ready to go and safe for months. Drops ? Surprisingly resistant. After first drop it suffered a small dent on the side as it hit metal chair support directly. Decond drop - facet front on concrete - nothing happened apart from me having to replace the screen protector. The frame around the phone is ridiculously hard to scratch.
- Custom roms: very easy, full cyanogenmod support - remember that you will lose Bravia engine forever once you onlock the bootloader.
- Anything you need to know: not much really. It's a very good device with some minor flaws and a less then perfect screen. The speaker is not very loud, maybe that. Oh, and KitKat is coming in May.
Would I recommend the phone after using if for almost 14 months ? When I bought it, Sony asked a hefty £549 for it. And for that price, I would say no, at least not now of course. But for ~£300 - as it sells now - I would definitely recommend it if you don't really need the "latest and greatest". It's a good phone with some flaws, but in general a good value for your money.
Would I choose Z over Z1 Compact ? Yes, definitely, because of 5" screen - and this is up to you what size you prefer. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Wrong. The Z has a good battery life, the bezels are far from beeing big and it's smooth and has a great build quality.
Also S800 has worse battery life due to the much higher clocks, i'm speaking of experience.

Ofc what above user has said is true.. Z1 is a flop because of the viewing angles and bad battery life than actual h/w capability.. Due to more power consumption by the s/w.. XZ is far better in terms of power management and build quality than XZ1.. Hence XZ2 is here.. But still doubtful as if it would be a hit or another Z1 itself.. But one should also know that Z has been built well, first of its kind.. Waterproof works very well, but u should be very careful with the flaps and the rubber inside.. And also not a hiccup in the UI, no lags at all.. Battery life is good enough.. Use some battery saving techniques.. And Camera is quite awesome if u use the perfect settings manually although Superior Auto works better only with daylight.. It brings a lot of awesome features if u really like photography.. Camera 2 is one app which made me remove all photo editing apps on my phone.. I love music quality and Movies app supports all video formats which helps a lot.. Display is crisp and with 441ppi and Auto Brightness u can easily be able to use the phone under bright sunlight with not much of a problem.. Also the device has a lot of support from different communities and SONY actually does care for XZ more than XZ1(This is a fact provided by one of SONY devs whom i know).. Hence nothing to worry.. U will not regret buying a XZ.. Just a suggestion, be gentle with flaps.. They arent very friendly..

There's plenty of "lags" in the UI, opening the app draw and closing an ago to get to the homescreen gets regular slowdown. The camera is grainy, nowhere near as good as any competitors. Music quality depends on the files you play, the Walkman app can't suddenly make some crappy, turn-of-the-century downloaded MP3s sound good quality. The movie app definitely doesn't support all formats, that's a lie.

You must have somehow messed up your ROM.. But here, as well as the other couple of users never experienced any lag.. Not a hiccup as i say again.. And my Walkman plays all audio formats except for WMA and WAV which are utter poor quality formats hence i don't care.. And also Movies app doesn't play only one format WMV which i also don't care, but till date i have downloaded more than 500 movies atleast.. None of them gave me the problem of Not playing.. All videos play on my device with Movies app itself.. And most importantly, when copying from PC i don't select to convert and copy.. I just copy..

So you watched loads of movies and claimed that it will play every format? Come on, get it together.
I bought mine 2 weeks ago for 308 Euros, brand new. I must say the build quality is excellent. Battery is very good.Display is perfect, also outside.
I am coming from an LG Optimus 2x.which served me for over 2 years without any problems. But the XZ is a complete new experience. I am so happy i went for this one.

Bought it !
Hi guys,
Following your good feedback I bought the Xperia Z and I have to say it is an excellent phone. Sony definitely made a milestone with this device, IMHO it surpasses Samsung in terms of quality (hardware and software) and premium feel.
Thanks to everyone who took time to give me some advises in this thread.:good:

Z is better than Z1 in build quality? Give me a break man. Z1 is far better in build quality, believe me (I had Z1). Aluminium frame and better glass give a much better feeling of quality and premium look than the Xperia Z (polycarbonate plastics and "plastic" glass).
I dunno about the the build quality but the z has a clean design like a smooth car now they throw some chrome on it and call it z1 and it became ugly again..... It's not always progress.
my name is Luxor, and i'm a flashoholic.

Theres no chrome on Z1, only brushed aluminium. And Z1 is one of the best looking phones in Xperia line out there. Did you even try to hold Z1 and compare it with Z?

It is figure of speech, yes I owned one to for 3 months and it is a wonderful phone but still I think the z is smoother and cleaner. You can get mad that I do not agree with you.... Some people like flashy things and some don't. I don't.

Plastic glass, my friend.. Less prone to get broken.. I have seen more defective Z1's with broken glass due to heating.. Z's internal design is better.. Z1's internal motherboard circuit has GPU next to CPU and hence heats more.. Z's Camera is next to CPU, hence Z heats more when Camera is ON.. Sony's design in motherboard has to get better..

Heating on Z and Z1 during heavy gaming is almost the same, and that is good because Z1 CPU clocks on higher freq. and I never had problem with overheating. I worked in official Sony repair center so you don't need to explain me difference between motherboard design on Z and Z1.

[Q] from s6Edge to Z3C

hello, i have decided to sell my S6EDGE 64GB before its late
i have realized holding Ferrari is useless if u have no fuel to drive it.
so i have heard many good tales about the z3 and the z3c battery life and performance and i am about to get one soon and wanted to know if theres anything i should test immidietly when i get my hands on it,
any hardware failures i should check that are common(out of the box)?
would be happy to hear about your Screen On time too !
thanks!
Top phone guy here
Onscreen time depends on many things, but usually up to 6-7 hours with low screen light and good network conditions.
No hardware failures so far.
The only thing I can remember is somebody experienced the breaking of the glass without any shock.

if u record 4G its happens, u even got warning on start
Something to note is that if you want longer battery life stay with kitkat. 5.0 seems to have slightly worse (not extremely) battery life.
As far as hardware goes if you don't plan on using a case get a screen protector on the back asap, it scratches really easily. The camera glass on the back has a coating that tends to scratch easily too, so another reason to get a protector or case on the phone right away. Might as well grab a good tempered glass screen protector for the front glass too, not sure if its sony glass or gorilla. Sony glass tends to be softer (scratches easily) but more durable (less brittle).
im a HEAVY user. Im talking a good 1 - 3 hours of hearthstone, lots of web browsing and facebook. I'd say my brightness is set to 60% and my screen on time is usually around 5 hours. Lasts me pretty much all day

Drop the phone into water. It should be waterproof. If it isnt sent it back.
This is a fine phone. I second the tempered glass suggestion, I got one for both front and back.
The camera is brilliant, especially if you go beyond the superior-auto and fiddle with manual settings. The dedicated camera button (which is also a quick launch button for the camera) is a great feature.
Regarding battery and SOT then I am going to post a screenshot from GsamBatteryMonitor (and these are stats with the snapchat update battery drain issue which are being felt in devices from most manufacturers)
I recommend the z3c - it is a great device.
The best I could get on my s6e
