[Q] Anyone tried 'Social Life' app from Sony on Xperia T

On that page is states..
•The new application, Socialife gives you all the information from your social networks in one glance, just download it from Play
I have tried installing it several times, both on European JB and now on UK JB, and on running it always gives 'An error occurred' which quits the app when pressing 'ok'.
Anyone managed to get this app to work on their Xperia T?

yes, the uk fw is uploading in 2 parts
one upload encountered some issue and never completed though file was present online. Didnt want to take a risk if its incomplete..so reuploading from scratch.

Just installed it on the rooted Europe fw, same error on UK too, maybe not quite ready and small patch due.

btw, how did you get rooted JB? is it the rooted, deodexed rom which is on the forums?

Yep, works beautifully.(by this I mean the Rom, sociallife does not yet work, but I imagine the working version will appear in update centre when available)

Hi All, i'm looking for someone to post a rogers ftf for jelly bean, the update is now live.
Let the JB roms for rogers begin, woo hoo.

I downloaded it OTA, but don't know where it's stored to make ftf. didn't install yet, afraid to lose the root.waiting for your new rom. good luck.

OTA updates usually come as ZIP files suitable for the phone's bootloader/recovery programs (and more often than not these updates only include patches, not the complete partition images). They aren't formatted like the updates downloaded via SUS or PCC and as such they might not be usable for FTF generation.

It will be a bit as i'm working lots and need my phone for work. My next day off is march 16. i was hoping someone would upload a rogers ftf file and then i could work a few hours a night on it.

The update is also going live for Bell's version, installing as of right now

Hi, if you want to create a ftf file for the Xperia T Bell mobile version. Just follow this wonderful guide http://mytechencounters.wordpress.com/2012/06/12/how-to-create-an-ftf-file-of-your-xperia-ics-firmware/
Btw, your phone won't be wiped or reset when you follow this guide. Make sure you unplug your phone when it starts downloading the firmware. You will know what I am talking about once you read this guide. Thanks again :good::laugh:

Sony z help

I brought a Sony xperia z today but the model is L36H which is suppose to be 6602 it's the China version.
My problem is that I can't get the US google play store and no GPS icon on here.
I tried downloading the google play US version but it never opens it just shuts off.
Anyone know how I can delete the china version of google play and install the US one?
If it comes down to it i guess I will have to look into getting it rooted.

I think that you will have to root. You can't delete for example the playstore apk to replace it for another one without root.

For GPS try...
Settings, accounts, Google, location services, switch on.
I could not get my GPS working no matter what I tried. Only this way worked. Good luck.

Thanks I'll look into that but at this point I guess the phone will need to be rooted which I didn't want to do.

Like gm007 said flash another stock ROM/firmware. Use flashtool, no need rooting or unlocking bootloader.

I think that's the older version so you might have problems with that. Just use the one I posted.

Hello guys. I want to flash Xperia ZL 4.2.2 FTF to my Z. Is there any risk ? I m asking becouse my old K750 works with W800i system. I want to use 4.2.2 and i dont want to unlock my BL. Thanks for answers.

The system simply wouldn't boot.
Possible permanent side effects:
- Hard brick of LCD screen
- NFC chip rendered useless

One guy on Xperia Blog flashed ZL ftf on Z. It booted but screen was black.

I speaking based on experience. If you own a STE Xperia phone and flashed Xperia Go's FW, your screen is dead, permanently. There's no way to fix it, even when you flash your device's stock ROM. I'm not saying it will brick your Xperia Z, but I just trying to caution you. Though I quietly confident nothing will happen.

You will never brick NFC chip, it's exactly the same

It can. Some update flashes a new NFC firmware. Flashing the wrong NFC FW can permanently brick the chip.

But the NFC specific fw is the same since the chip is equal so normally it shouldn't make a difference

Tried to flash ZL kernel and system. No use. Blank screen at boot.
Even after flash ZL 423 kernel. Flashtool recognize my device a 1.307. Probably because of signature, flashing might failure.
Returned to 1.307
Need to solve drivers.
Ps: Locked bootloader.

I won't do that if I were you messing firmware which is purposed to that device is suicidal to ur Z. U might get softbrick. Unless u port it into ur Z, it might work.

Any one have that issue?mine keep droping when using for like 20 mins
I did chose power saver to never from hotspot setting.also I flashed two ftf already.both have same issue.
But when I using hotspot at .257 never have that problem

how can you tethering with ps3 and play game??
I tried many times can't make it work
now wifi tethering keep dropping every 20 mins
computer can't find the hotspot must turn it off and turn it on then it works for like 20-30 mins again.
that is really ****ing ****!!!!!!!

Hmm I have lte tmoble I actually can play online while my wife is connected to my laptop never had issues not sure what your trouble is

I have tmobile unlimited data plan
but before update to .290 when I try to connect to ps3 always fail
I know how to do it connect to pc

Yes I don't understand why your having trouble I never did a full wipe i kept my data. so I can't say doing a full wipe would help. But if I were you go to settings,apps and press force close on the android system as that is what controls the hotspot. It might work idk

Tried both, Global and Generic MEA.
EDIT: I am currently uploading the global ftf to google drive, the MEA is already shared in the ftf mega collection thread.
EDIT2: Download Global android 4.3 from here if you want.

It's ok to downgrade to 257 but you have to clear data and everything.

I am having the same issue too. The phone even rebooted itself sometime. Sweden firmware here.
