Hello. Does anyone know what the upper left icon in the status bar (see attached screenshot) is?

I'm not sure if you can. Unless you get a tweak that ignores that network status.

Hello Kolo 2x, I tried the phone settings and has options to disable this function. Thank you .
Good to hear. Can you share with the group where you found the setting? Just in case anyone comes looking

Found this awesome battery monitor app/widget. I've replaced Android's stock battery icon with this one that sits in the notification window.

Yea. I love it!
I'm loving how it uses HoloUI guidelines. Check this out on JB...
I know this is off topic but what ROM is that? I'd like those quick on off buttons in the pull down menu

Yes you can, not by default though, there was an app that could do this. Don't really remember which one though.
And once you're rooted, anything is possible.

Those triggers for all the settings aren't the same as in your screenshot
On CM in "settings" -> "system" -> "notification drawer" tick the power widget and you get those. Not the same as the quick settings panel as you can see from the icon where you can change between notifications and settings panel
EDIT: And there actually is the cross to dismiss all notifications in the themed screenshot

It's just modified systemUI, there's no mod.
