Does anyone know if this software is worth installing onto my Dream using Cyanogenmod ROM? Main question is, is it safe? Is there any point in having it?
https://beta.flexilis.com/
Is scanned every app that I installed , which was great , but also caused some major lagging , lockups and even some fc's .
We havent tested against cyanogen modded devices, there shouldnt be an issue, just depends on how the device is setup and how much is on it in memory, etc. We work on regular stock android devices, though custom mods dont usually go through the same stringent QA procedures that stock firmware's do in the factory, so there's more variables there for us to work around.
But, long story short, it should work fine.
Hello everyone! I just got a new (replacement) Galaxy Note from Expansys. The one I had before had a creaky back cover and the screen had problems with over-saturation, so I had to send it back to Amazon. Now, I pull this one out of the box and I notice it is in pristine condition. I boot it up and notice that the kernel version is a KKA and says "[email protected]" in the second line. It's already kinda funny because KKA came out in november. The Note I got from Amazon had KL7 on it. I forgot what was on the second line. Anyway, I just don't get why "root" is mentioned in a STOCK firmware? Has anyone else noticed this. And for what it was worth I tried gaining root permissions on different apps and it fails. Also I cannot seem to receive any OTA updates? You would think there would be a an update for KKA. It just keeps saying "Network not found", although I have setup my google account, WiFi and mobile data. Anyone else see this "root" on their stock, un-rooted Notes?
PS. I just realized it kinda sounds like the prompt on bash? has this got something to do with the (linux) computer the kernel was compiled on?
I suspect DELL87 is the (non fully qualified) hostname of the machine that was used for the kernel (or system) compilation, while root is, obviously, the UNIX user name of the then logged in user.
I had it on mine stock, new Note as well. Nothing to worry about - it doesn't mean that your Note is rooted and you have superuser access.
I admit that my initial phrasing wasn't quite up to par, so let me put it this way: Android is a flavour of GNU/Linux and, amongst other parts, it uses the Linux kernel (albeit a rather modified version). More so in the case of Android, this kernel has to be built/compiled from source code for each specific device and/or firmware combination out there. Now, the Linux kernel has a cute particularity that, each time you built it, it stores in the built image the user name and the host name (computer/network name) of the machine that were used for building it.
So, for example, if I were a Samsung engineer about to be build a new Linux kernel to use for a new firmware for the Note, I would probably be connected/logged on to the machine with the (network) name DELL87 as user root (the UNIX super user—well, most of the times).
I hope now things are a bit clearer.

Yes. I realized this a while back. Thanks for the information though.
I am back on CM9 ICS and everything is fine and dandy.
My apologies if I'm hijacking your thread you appear have found the answers you where looking for.

Can someone dumb this down for me?
I have the same Galaxy Note version.
I don't need to understand the answer fully, I'm not sure I'm capable of understanding
Has user: acidburn89 found a way to update to the latest official Samsung update CM9 without having to root and flash his mobile?
Or is waiting for Samsung to update this [email protected] version of Galaxy Note firmware a lost cause,
has Samsung forgotten about us?
I just know if there is a way to fudge up a rooting & flashing of a mobile I'll probably find a way, regardless of how simple it is to do.
Thought I'd add more info according to Samsung kiss:
Latest firmware version is: PDA:KKA / PHONE:KK5 / CSC:KK3 (XEU)
Besides being the wrong thread to ask this question, I'm rather positive that CM9 is not an official Samsung firmware...

My bad I think I'll start another thread, sorry for the mix up
Hello All
Georg Hotz released a new way to root android phones, thanks to a critical security hole in the linux kernel. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783157
Did anyone test this on his Razr I?
I don't like to try it yet on my stock phone (no way to safely backup it).
pato
freezes after taping on make it rain.
bootloader unlocked, new aosp++ v3.1
did not work.
A user in our german forum tried it too and he failed.
Mine is still rooted with twerkmymoto but if anyone is interested you could contact Georg Hotz and ask him to work together with you to create an exploit for our phone, we probably will need it for the KK update (if it comes)
probably this only works on 4.3 or later.
Here didn't work too.
But Razr I is not alone, didn't work on N8000 either.
Let's wait geohot.
Hello guys, anyone still around lol, need help pweeease
I bought this phone today, and it was on 4.1 or something - some rom. I came back to XDA the wonderful fairy land to make my dreams come true.
Alas, and as always (6th phone in a row) I am lost. I rooted successfully the 4.1 (I forget what it *actually* was) and that was fine. It worked. I used a DooMLoRD special secret package that he made specifically for us Canadians, I don't know how I found it either as it was buried deep in a different thread. As far as I know the 'perf'(..?) exploit has been patched by Sony.
Seeing how I haven't been around here in about 10 to 16 months, I forgot how everything works. I upgraded my device to the official 5.1.1 expecting to retain my root, and then intended on getting my hands a little dirty in the coming weeks (or at least get a Kernel that seeks to improve battery life)
my bootloader is still locked. I will note, however, that Kingroot, the APK succesfully got me rooted. But that app is weird, and I don't know if I trust it... I also don't know what would happen if I tried to flash a new kernel.
ANYWAY THANKS FOR READING THIS
Search tool is a gift, I have been and will continue to be searching probably way too intensely for a fix or some help.
Cheers to all

Right. I have been doing a fair amount of research on how to install the Xposed Framwork. I am running Lolipop 5.1 and I am pretty sure all Doogee X5 Pro's run it. I haven't changed anything to do with the rom and my android is rooted using KingRoot. I only did that because it was easy to do and I didn't want to go through the bother of flashing a nand or anything. I got the installer thinking that would work[This was before I did any research about Xposed] I heard that it allowed you to use a lot of modules and improve the device so I thought.. Why not. this isn't my first time screwing around with nands and stuff with devices.
Anyhow. On to the problem at hand, To start with I think I am on a stock ROM and a lot of people are saying that I am going to need to get a custom ROM. I am not entirely sure what to do there and I am aware that most android devices are different so looking at a tutorial from someone not using the same device as me causes some issues.
I don't know which SDK to get for the framework but after doing a fair amount of looking and finding that I need armv8-a helped out a little but then I got slightly confused with the table that they made on the Xposed Framework Thread. It stated that if I was not on a TW ROM then I would need to check if the /system/lib64/ folder exists and then that would tell me what ROM to get.. I found that all a bit confusing and not very well explained so I didn't proceed because I didn't want to end up bricking my phone [So much as you can fix a soft brick. I thought I would come here first and save my self some hassle]
Model Number : x5pro
Android Version : 5.1

EDIT: I just booted into recovery mode and then I got the "No Command" problem so I had to take the battery out to get it to reboot into normal mode..
EDIT: Well that was silly. Found a way around it. Now I can get into Recovery Mode.
