Hi All,
I have tried the demo set of HTC One. I found that they remove quite a lot of widgets like the mail widget and message(SMS) widget.
On Personalize menu, they also remove Skins and Scenes, as well as some of the Lock Screen choices (like Weather and Clock).
My question is, can we have those back for Sense 5? Or it requires some rooting?
Thanks.

My guess is they may be available for download via some sort of HTC app store (they had similar with the One X)
Don't think so.
At least i was not able to find something like that. (no HTC Hub, HTC Likes or whatever)
Also there are no buttons e.g. to download further ringtones or another background pictures/designs like it was earlier.
I think we could downgrade to sense 4 then. We could rip DNA/Butterfly's ROM and port the framework & apks on HTC One.

I've searched and searched and haven't come up with a definite answer.
Can the HTC Widgets be used on Cyanogen, or any non-Hero ROM?
No.
Definite enough?
No, short answer, the hero widgets were built for rosie/sense whatever you want to call it, basically it's another home replacement app. Widgets are not compatible with standard launcher.
Like above the answer is no. Although there are a few widgets on the market that look like the htc wigdets.
Beautiful Widgets-Digital Clock Widget
Contact Bar- People bar
Pure Grid Calender- Calender Widget
Pure Messenger Widget- Email/Message Widget
Damn, all I really wanted was the peep twitter widget, but I'll live I guess haha
Use Twidgit Lite!
I've always wondered since a Home Replacement is basically a stand alone app, and widgets on the standard sdk can't be animated like the hero's in most cases.
Couldn't we just make a HR that runs applications as widgets type of thing.
Like if anyones run a pulse rom and used taskiller you'll see it's cards widgets or whatever it's called running and working with sense UI styles.
I don't see why we can't just run touchflo on cyanogen... most Hero ROMs are based on 1.5 right now, so... hmmm

Thanks! Found it! However, with the limitations it imposes (not able to scroll and have more than 4 contacts) I think I will pass on this one, for now. Dev states they are working on a solution for that, once found, it would be worth the purchase for me.
I have purchased many apps, especially the Pure apps (Calendar widget, Grid calendar widget and Messenger widget) that help make the phone look/perform nicely.
Keep up the great work Dev's!

Photo Album & Bookmarks widgets?
Might there be alternatives to these HTC widgets that I'd be able to use on my 1.6 based g1?

i would remove the link for the clocks, it considered warez.
Hello Mr Developer people.
I recently flashed the sense 3 stuff to my phone as I heard you could put widgets on your home screen. I was tired of using the fake lock screens that where laggy and didnt work correctly.
I was kind of hoping that the HTC sense would have there agenda widget as a selectable option but you cant.
Would it be possible for someone to make something like this?
Cheers
Pat
Impressed with the layout, I just came from a NOTE 2 and previous from that was a ONE S. Phone design and materials are solid, but the clock, calendar and social media front screen all look plain, is there a ROM that will make it look like the widgets from the ONE S?
I'm coming from Windows Phone while waiting for their next gen devices. The One is a great and solid phone.
Sense 5 surprised me for its simplicity and well thought features and design. I guess there are people like you that don't like that aspect but you can easily change it using other ROM or widgets. For the widgets, there are many UCCW skins for clock, weather and other things. For calendar I use Clear Calendar Widget and for weather EZ Weather (free with no ads, great interface and good looking widgets). I use Nova Launcher Prime so I can't use stock Sense 5 widgets.
You can change your home screen to skip going to BlinkFeed when pressing the home button. If I remember correctly you can change it in the screen where you can add or delete other screens. Tap the one you one to be your home page and it will change. If you don't use BlinkFeed, remove everything from it.
I don't have the phone yet (**** you Verizon) but I'm guessing you cant use blink feed in another home replacement like Nova can you?
Also have they made any improvements to the way Sense 5 can be customized for icons and such? Can you hide icon names yet? Can you change how many icons you can have on the screen? (example: like adding rows and columns)
was wondering if its possible to get the htc weather widget, like on sense four rom with the 5 day forcast and current conditions on top ? i know theres a generic one but i was wondering about the fully animated widget. im on a sense rom i know you cant use it on like another non sense rom or launcher so i was just curious. sorry if this isnt in right spot.
I think there is an option to enable the animation in the one already available in widgets.
all i see is the small widget that just has current conditions u know wich one im talking about right ? like that fullscreen thing on sense 4
Hi all,
I am kinda new to the forum and have a question. I have searched the internet and this forum as well but still have not found an answer, so I am hoping someone can explain to me what I have done wrong or what I can do to correct the wrong.
I am currently on version 4.4.2 and Sense 6. My Blinkfeed was never enabled and I always had the Weather clock widget up on the home screen. Today I decided to remove it to try another one from the widget section, but I am now unable to choose any of them, I can still add other widgets, just none of the clocks, or weather clock ones. All that happens is I would choose one the widgets, they ask me to select a city, and then nothing happens the home screen comes up blank.
Has anyone else ever experienced this or know how to fix this issue.
Thanks in advance.
You need to set Blinkered as the Home Screen.

Hi,
Thanks for replying, when I got the phone blink feed was never on, I have turned on blink feed and yes I do see the weather clock widget on there, but I am still unable to add it back to other screens, and I would prefer not to have blinkfeed on.
I contacted HTC support today, and was told with Sense 6 if you delete the clock widget you wont be able to re add. I think that is #%$&^# but anyhow I did a factory reset and everything is back to normal again now.
