HOW TO PREPARE i9070 CUSTOM ROMS TO WORK ON 9070P
disclaimer as usual - everything on your own responsibility still, seems to be quite safe, the worst ever happened is no gsm signal if using not appropriate /lib/tee folder files. no soft/hardbricks reported (yet )
technical details - scroll a bit down
----
part 1: /system/lib/tee folder to replace
Jelly Bean Stock ROMS and ones based on Samsung Stock ROMs (Harshjelly, PureVanilla, LightJB..)the most important information: in order to get i9070P Jelly Bean modded stock ROMs working, you have to:
1. download this file: http://d-h.st/vUw
2. save the file on your sd card (preferably external sd, not the internal memory)
3. flash your desired rom, do all neccessary wipes and so on, but DON'T REBOOT YET!
4. you have to install the zip downloaded in step 1 (don't confuse the order of steps 3 and 4, otherwise your rom won't work for 9070P, ie. you won't have any radio modules working - gsm, wifi, bt)
5. reboot and enjoy
tested by users on various modded stock roms (read all the pages); the one above works on stock-based ROMs only,
----
CyanogenMod ROMs
for CM10, CM10.1 and CM10.2 file here: http://d-h.st/E9e
proceed exactly as steps described above
thx Mr.xD97 - files for /system/lib/tee extracted from his rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2278169
according to hannez_r
Tee folder from JB 4.1.2 TW works on CM11.

- thx for the info
-------------------------
part 2: the build.prop incompatibility:this happens if you attempt to flash custom roms straight from your 9070P stock ROM. once you successfully flash any i9070 ROM, you won't be bothered with the issue (until you reflash your stock ROM with odin again)
in case flashing of your target rom ends immediately with an error ("assert failed: getprop....") then you have to do something with your build.prop. The explanation for that happening is: there are build.prop entries stating that the phone is "9070P" and the updater-script prevents your target ROM from being flashed to an uncompatible device (not an "9070")
possible solutions:either: 1. grab some build.prop editors prior to flashing anything and change all occurences of "9070P" to "9070" and "janicep" to "janice". like this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.build.prop.editor or just edit your build.prop manually.
or: 2. unzip the target ROM .zip file, go to \META-INF\com\google\android and erase the lines starting with "getprop" (do NOT use windows notepad - it breaks the file, use notepad++ instead), save the edited updater-script and push it to the sd card. you're ready to flash the ROM
3. [automatically, to be tested] - waiting for your reports. ; use the build.prop.to.9070.zip to spoof your build.prop to i9070 model; it's a CWM flashable that should change the contents of your build.prop automatically. all credits for the script go to the author of this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19093919&postcount=20 - remember, not tested yet, in case you still get an assert:getprop error after flashing this .zip, try rebooting recovery and install the ROM .zip then method 3 most probably not working, so don't test unless you have lots of spare time to play with your phone

source and inspiration:
I found that in galaxy ace 2 i8160/L/P forum - you have to replace /system/lib/tee folder (or 3 files inside) in order to flash custom roms made for i9070: there it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2159250
BUMP.
situation changed a lot. i9070P owners - try solution above

no more time today
btw. forgot to tell - take Gingerbread version of suppressed, no one knows what happens when you try with JellyBean version!
Woooow thank you

If I understand properly, I should be able to download JetMod ROM. Replace the three files in the ZIP “tee” directory, “cops_ta.ssw, custom_ta.ssw, smcl_ta_8500bx_secure.ssw”, with the same named files currently in my phone, go to TWRP, Wipe System, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache, Factory reset, then install JetMOD zip?
Does this seem correct?

yes, exactly. that way works for suppressed amoled/megatheme and for custom roms for ace 2 (ofc for ace 2 they use their /tee files respectively). so no reason it shouldn't work for jetmod.

BTW curious to ask if anybody dared to flash any custom JB rom over recovery to 9070P? guinea pigs needed
You are awesome! Jetmod works great! Thank you!
thanks!!
Oh thank you very very much! I have one question... Now it is not possible try to flash a Jelly Bean rom for 9070 ok.. But in future owners of 9070P will get Jelly Bean probably this method will work also for Jelly bean custom roms for 9070?

If you have a native i9070p ROM... search the system folder for any file that contains nfc in the name, and copy it from the native i9070p ROM to suppressed. P.S. use windows search function
Another question: after flashing a custom rom for 9070 on 9070P is flashed also the kernel for 9070... Can we use kernel of the rom or we should change te kernel with CoCore-P? Thank you for the reply

as long as the kernel you currently use works OK - no need to worry; but check your CPU usage as some users reported excessive CPU usage all the time for older cocore kernels. I can confirm that cocore 4.1(for non-NFC version) and cocore-P don't have that issue

still no luck with NFC - the files I used are the only ones that can have anything in common with nfc. it gets even worse upon reboot as the NFC service app pops up FC window every three seconds and doesn't stop until I deleted it and rebooted again :|

I have never flashed a new ROM. I want to try JetMod. It seems more I search, more restoring options are presented. (TWRP Restore or TB) Can someone recommend the safest and easiest method for restoring user apps and settings (SMS, MMS, & Contacts) on the new ROM? I have a TB and TWRP back up.

For Contacts I use the in-built backup feature....and SMS and MMS I usually use MyBackup Root for stock Messaging , otherwise when I'm using GO SMS Pro I use its in-built backup feature

I must admit I tried Jetmod without success. Does not boot. Just startup screen being displayed.
I tried with default kernel and with cocore-P 1.0 kernel. Nothing worked. Might be something wrong with the installation (using TWRP in cocore-P 1.0). Installing system files seems to take just a fraction of second. And I suspect nothing was actually copied. I also tried replacing Aroma updater with the "regular one". Still the same...
Suppressed 2.2+2.5 worked. But it is not really my taste Should have tried 3.0 instead. But I would really like to try Jetmod. Any hints about the recovery?
Does CWM recovery for i9070 (non-P) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987313 work for P devices? Anyone tried?

well, probably someone that's using jetmod on 9070P will tell you how to do it. but to be sure: did you start with 3.0, run the android wizard->rebooted to recovery->installed->3.1->rebooted to system->rebooted to recovery->installed 3.2 ? AFAIR when I was using i9070(non-P) I had to proceed these steps as flashing 3.0 + upgrades without reboots in the meantime caused bootloop or similar
as far as CWM is concerned - 1. it's temporary 2. it's meant for JB roms 3. never tried it on 9070P due to the fact TWRP always worked for me
Thank you very much adamuadamu... It worked very well for me... I installed jetmod 3.0 and i've done all the update to 3.2.2 without any problem
So none tried to do the same thing with Jelly Bean roms right?

I'm pretty sure JB ROMs will have the same issues that GB non-P ROMs had....and we don't have the JB /system/tee files and kernel to deal with it

I think the lib/tee files are the main concern at the moment to get JB ported.
I have downloaded official kernel sources for i9070. And it includes config for 9070P as well. I managed to build the 4.1.2 kernel image for 9070P. But I don't really want to test it myself. I am not confident that it won't brick my device
So far, most of brave ones who have tried 9070 JB image on P-device have got a brick. If anyone could explain the reason, would be nice.
Does anyone know, if the reason is wrong kernel? Or is there something else in the JB installer that causes that. Some hboot partition or something?
Modem partition?

Pretty basic release. This is a deodexed version of the touchwiz wifi update.zip available in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167250
I have not changed anything else in this ROM (though I am now working on a more streamlined touchwiz ROM using this deodexed version)
So no, this ROM is not meant to improve performance or fix any bugs from the stock touchwiz update. A deodexed ROM simply makes it possible/easier for devs to create patches that can address these issues, make themes, etc.
Warning: I am not responsibile for any damage you do to your device from flashing this update. Please be careful and follow the instructions below, and use at your own risk!

Uploaded 7/22/2011: http://www.multiupload.com/WTU98VP2D5
-Fixed WiFi issue (thanks to DocRambone for the fix)
-Fixed /system not being wiped properly during update
Installing:
Download and place somewhere on your /sdcard directory
Boot into CWM
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Wipe /data and /cache (you can skip this if you had flashed the r4-7/19/2011 previously)
Install this zip from sdcard
---
Rooting:
Flash su_busybox_misc-sam_tab_10.1-051511.zip using CWM / Rom Manager: http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/tools/su_busybox_misc-sam_tab_10.1-051511.zip
---
Before reporting any bugs please make sure you have followed these directions. If you are getting a boot loop you most likely missed one of the steps above.
If you are getting the "service temporarily unavailable message" you need to sign into your google account, it should go away after you do that
Have fun themeing and modding!

The linked root zip is optional, you don't have to flash right after, you can flash it whenever (but dont use any of the other rooting zips available for this tab, the linked one is the only compatible version). Your bootloop is probably caused by not wiping /data+/cache or the davlik cache. Follow the instructions in first post.

Did you try without ROM Manager the first time? If not try that first to be sure. Also provide device info please (wifi/3g/io/retail/v). I have not had any other reports of bootloops from people that were wiping data+cache+dalvik properly. You can try formatting /system (under CWM mount / storage menu option) if you are still getting this after manually doing everything through CWM at boot.
are you sure thats the 3G version? I went to download it and my pc sees it as exactly the same as the new wifi version... thank you sooo much for it either way! good looking out!!!

Hello pls where i can get P990 stock rom zip ( czech version ) in zip format... for me is better instalation.
Please answer fast
I have backup stock rom but if i flash it .... in boot screen freeze and after 5 sec restart phone
You'll first need to convert your file system to EXT3 first. CM is EXT4 and stock is EXT3. Flash this zip in recovery: http://android.modaco.com/topic/336...3-for-converting-your-device-er-back-to-ext3/
So you'll need to do this in recovery:
1. Wipe everything
2. Flash the BackToExt3 zip
3. Restore stock rom backup.
This should work.
Nice big thx this is easy and very fast

I read this post above and cant go anywhere further because the silly rules do not allow noobsters to ask noobster questions ????
heres my problem,
I have P990 that came with froyo
the thing was working perfectly apart from front camera in Skype and silly old me, not being able to ask novice questions here (because you are not allowed) somehow managed to install the cryogen 9 naively thinking that this will fix the only problem I ever had. And then the world of unstability, locked and frozen screens, freezing, restarting, random uninstaling of apps, cameras not working, video freezing, music (what music??) not available and not even starting etc started to be my daily dose of my randomly properly working p990 phone.
Is there anyone kind enough to explain how to do stock rom as per above post install on top of my big mistake .
I have an unstable, unreliable (rooted ) P990 that is currently (very randomly) running cryogen 9 , I downloaded the 2 part files from trapacska's post (thanks for thinking of us mortals), I have 2 laptops , one with windows XP , one with windows 7 64 bit, a usb cable to connect laptop to the phone and I will to do anything to return my phone to some normality .
Please take me step by step or show me links how to do it and what other programs do I need in order to make my phone work as it is supposed to work.
Please understand that I do not understand what all this bellow means, and would really appreciate if anyone could explain or point to places where these things are explained ( please omit the first point, I found how to root elsewhere):
THIS IS 100% FACTORIAL STOCK:
-you have to root
-wipe data and cache NOW NOT NEEDED(built in format /system /data /cache)
-100% factorial stock kernel included
-baseband and recovery will not be changed
-if you have bootloop, try to flash backtoext3 first
Am on criskelo 11.2 with speedmod kernel 3.13.
All is fine, it appears I have root (titanium etc works) and a check with 'got root' returns an ok response.
The phone is behaving itself nicely and is nice and smooth.
The problem comes when I try and do a nandroid backup using cwm.
It gets a liitle way in and then freezes (forever!)
Things I've tried to cure this...
1) Rolling back to stock GB and then re-rooting, then full 3 wipes, then reinstall criskelo rom.
2) Rolling back to a pre-rooted GB rom, then all 3 wipes, then re-install croskelo
2) Flashing other kernels, notecore etc
3) Installing superuser 3.1.1.zip with cwm and its binary update.zip
4) Installing SuperSU app from play store - it says needs to update binaries, and when I try it just says 'installation failed!'
5) Installing superuser app from play, this time when I try and update binaries it does helpfully say ' remounting /system as rw... fail!'
which leads me to believe this is a root problem, even though no other app is complaining.
6) doing a search on this forum (before you all tell me to do this!)
I have been trying to solve this for over a week now, and it feels like I have read everything on this forum but I may have missed something.
Can anybody steer me in the right direction please?
Maybe you dont need a nandroid backup, it doesnt backup efs anyway.
Could be a kernel issue, or space issue. Not sure.

I am a heavy flasher and prevent issues caused by restores to get a clean taste of roms. Nandroids I tried, but I havent found a rom I wanted to go back on always, flash so much that it just takes to long.
Efs with a tool in one if my threads, suggestion by Chasmodo. DrKetan has a good toolbox thread in general section.
I manually backup photos and such with a file explorer. Calander/Contacts/email in gmail,
whatsapp and special app stuff also manually transfer folder from sdcard and back.
Messages I dont care for. Neither made calls list.
Occasionally I do restore app if dissapeared from market with Titanium, but only app, not data. I save backups on external. Cause I clean sdcard also.

http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager/
jonny, i feel your problem is due to partial root.
could you copy files into system in root explorer ?
did adaway work in applying hosts file ?
for criskelo rom too you should choose CF root kernel during the flashing process, then later you may change to your preference
Thanks baz & nokia, much appreciated.
I am running PA 1.99 now and it has the new cwm (you can tell because it has a grey background now!)
And rraaka, you are correct, I cannot copy anything to system
Not sure how I can get full root back though, I have used Dr Ketans rooting tool many times to try and cure this issue as well as flashing pre-rooted GB roms with Odin.
Not sure what else I can do.
But am starting to agree with baz now, I can do without nandroid (it takes ages anyway) and just use titanium to restore.
Everything is working fine with my partial root (except nandroid) anyway so not sure I care anymore!
Am enjoying Paranoid Android by the way, JB is fun.
I do miss the samsung apps though, I don't suppose those have been jellybeaned yet??
nope not yet, nothing Touchwizz like spen etc.
There is a cwm flashable of samsung apps that works pretty good on cm9, not sure if it works on cm10 or jb.
gaining full root shouldnt be to difficult, update binaries and then you know for sure.
The one that has worked wel for me is the ssu only zip from this post but then again thats on stock stuff.

For custom roms/kernels the ones supplied with it are build in to work out of the box.

Thanks baz, am going to go back to the start (stock ICS) and try that link to try and get my full root back, looks interesting.
Ok, I have full root again now!
here's what I think I remember what I did...
Downloaded the first two Su & busybox zips using method1 on the link that Baz kindly shared with me and popped them on my sd card ready.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746794
Downloaded and flashed the latest UK Carphone Warehouse stock ICS rom with odin.
Rebooted to stock recovery - applied update zip - flashed first the SU and then Busybox zips downloaded earlier.
Rebooted phone to check all was ok.
Located superSU app and ran it to check - and first it said it didn't recognise my phone model, hmmm...
So I downloaded mobile odin from play and flashed abyss 4.2 kernel
Rebooted to recovery, full 3 wipes and rebooted system.
Ran superSU again and magically it updated binaries and for the first time in 2 weeks it said 'sucessful', I was very pleased!
Rebooted to recovery and flashed Criskelo 11.2 again (have gone back to this from PA until things are a bit more stable)
Restored all my apps from TB all good.
Checked Adaway and it was more than happy to replace host file, and root explorer is also happy.
Cool

Personal note November 20:Let's face it:
After all stock ICS currently just is no good for many people's everyday use. While it does perform very well for many other people.
Cocluding from my own ICS usage experience with the latest v28E & v28G builds:
stock ICS indeed is very smooth while scrolling, even without a custom kernel
but unfortunately with rising workload it starts hanging and lagging annoyingly much (on my own phone)
for many people it is just not stable enough (yet)
More specifically today I've made new versions / rebuilds of my stock Gingerbread kernel and my Stock GB GoodBye ROM v2.0 (The rebuilt and updated ROM has just been released (NOV 20 2012).) and came to following conclusions (for my own phone):
GoodBye ROM is smoother than my current ICS builds and stays smooth
GoodBye ROM is more stable than my current ICS builds
GoodBye ROM is more energy efficient than my current ICS builds
GoodBye ROM is faster than my current ICS builds
GoodBye ROM offers a highly tweakable custom kernel and TrymHansen's outstanding GuesteOC app
So many people have written that this ICS ROM is a great ROM, well I can promise you guys, if you already like this quite non-perfect ICS, you will for sure love my Gingerbread Goodbye ROM v2.0R !
In case you guys haven't tried it yet, I'd be happy if you do so. I've put quite much effort in the latest versions.
So if ICS does not work good for you on your phone and you want a ROM smoother, faster, more stable and more energy saving than my currently offered ICS builds, then you might want to try this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34379632&postcount=267 (NVFlash versions available)
What does all this mean?
I'm temporarily going back to my Gingerbread ROM for my personal use
I'll watch further ICS development from there, everyone is free to join me
I will continue updating this ROM to the latest ICS bases as usual, just don't use them myself until performance and stability improves

Essential update November 16:
New NVFlash versions (v28E & v28G) are available.
New features:
fixed bootloader, so Smartflash will work again for everyone
CMW Recovery 6, no more too big font in CWM, also no more /cache errors [edit: if you still get them: just format /cache partition in CWM]
fixing sizes of recovery partition and boot partition
NO full wipe required!! New NVFlash version can backup your /data partition and restore later (Internal SD will still be wiped!)
Noob-secure flashing process. Telling the user exactly what to do and asks for confirmation before doing anything.
Stock LG ICS content for internal SD card can be flashed as well (user is asked) - gives some extra music, apps, videos
No more deodexed version. I think odexed works best.
Google Now (Online-version) preinstalled, still about 25 MB free space in /system partition
additional widgets from SU660 preinstalled
the new installation scripts are available for both Windows and Linux (tested by me extensively)
Windows APX driver included (for Linux not needed)
hopefully no more battery drainage problems on v28G version
some minor things. A custom kernel by me will come as soon as we get the final kernel sources!
New CWM ZIPs are available as well! Please be aware that they do not upgrade bootloader (=fix of Smartflash Bug), CWM (from 5 to 6) or fix partition sizes for boot and recovery partition (were too small, could cause problems lateron). Only NVFlash version does that. So you might prefer to, as a one-time-upgrade, use NVFlash version. You can, with the new NVFlash versions, backup and restore your /data partition, so your settings and apps won't be lost. Only Internal SD will still be wiped.
The new ICS builds are available in download folder, in subfolder "Second Generation ROMs (improved, recommended)".

About the CWM for new bootloader:
made by me thanks to help and files by wkpark - this guy is really knowledgeable!
Enjoy: It is still possible to enter CWM DIRECTLY through pressing "VOL -" AND POWER !!!!
This ROM is for ...
those who want to easily change to the new Stock ICS bootloader, partitioning layout and kernel
those who want everything to be CLEAN STOCK and still want to have all features like root, CWM and so on
the DEVs who need a solid base for making their custom ROMs out of - feel free to take this ROM as base for your ICS custom ROMs!! - you can make them as CWM versions, because everyone who is using this ROM can flash your custom ROM easily with CWM then.
those who want to use it as a stable and smooth daily driver
those who have bricked their device and need to unbrick it (NVFlash version)
those who want to switch from Gingerbread or CM10 with older bootloader and different partitioning directly to ICS v28G (NVFlash version)
those who want to get the currently best possible base for later installation of custom kernels and custom ROMs (CWM flashable) released for the new bootloader and partitioning design
those who want a very simple installation and a rock-solid system
those who want the Stock ICS, but just a bit better - with essential tweaks like ad blocking, init.d, ramdisk optimizations, full adb support, facelock, some LG crapware removed (only two apps, keeping it as stock as possible), CWM added, rooted,...
This ROM combines providing as much features as possible while still staying as much stock as possible! It comes with original new LG ICS bootloader (unlocked), with original v28G kernel (no changes needed), original new LG ICS partitioning layout and of course ALL original v28G apps except 2 useless ones

Installation NVFlash version (under Windows): (internal SD will be wiped, /data partiton can be saved and restored with 2nd generation builds)
download the ROM, unpack it with WinRar, 7Zip or similar to any folder you want
take battery out of phone, press VOL + AND VOL - simulataneously, and while doing this plug the phone via USB to your PC
screen of phone remains black, this is normal, but you should hear a sound that you plugged the device. Probably you have to install APX drivers at this point if you are asked. They are included in the latest NVFlash builds. Tutorial on driver installation: http://www.modaco.com/topic/335416-nvflash-setup-instructions-drivers-links-active/
assuming that you already installed APX drivers: run the "flash_windows.bat" file in the folder where you extracted the ROM
follow the instructions
That's already it Usually no complications to be feared. Enjoy!
Installation NVFlash version (under Linux): (internal SD will be wiped, /data partiton can be saved and restored with 2nd generation builds)
download the ROM, unpack it with WinRar, 7Zip or similar to any folder you want
take battery out of phone, press VOL + AND VOL - simulataneously, and while doing this plug the phone via USB to your PC
screen of phone remains black, this is normal, but you should hear a sound that you plugged the device (eventually you don't hear a sound but it still should work).
run the "flash_linux.sh" file in the folder where you extracted the ROM (make sure it is executeable, else chmod accordingly, also the NVFlash binary)
follow the instructions
That's already it Usually no complications to be feared. Enjoy!
CWM version (no full wipe required): - for those who are already on new bootloader, partition layout and CWM -> they can re-flash this ROM without full wipe. Do NOT use it when you are on old bootloader currently (GB, CM7, CM10)!
Installation CWM version: = NO required Full wipe
make sure you are already on latest bootloader, partition layout and CWM
copy the zip on your SD, install via CWM - if you want a full-wipe, do one before. Cache and Dalvik Cache gets automatically wiped.
That's already it Boot and enjoy!
Bugs:
Android Terminal emulator needs an update from Play Store, else it will crash when you open it. Updating fixes it.
To prevent WIFI from not working:
I'm not sure in how far BB is related to WIFI, but I'd recommend upgrading to latest BB if you don't have it already :good:
Some user who reported WIFI stopped working was on a very old BB.
ALSO: on setup wizard after ROM installation it's recommended NOT to import / restore old phone settings from your google account. The imported WIFI settings will in some cases break your WIFI. Try to clear all WIFI data in case you did and WIFI is broken.

About going back to different ROMs and backups NOT made under the new bootloader:
it is not possible to restore CWM backups with this ROM that have been made using a different partitioning layout and bootloader. So you can only go back to GB or CM7 / 10 with per example NVFlash and then restore your saved backup with CWM there. But do not restore it while still being on ICS layout.
But restoring is possible:
- you are on CM7/10, make CWM backup, save backup to pc
- you flash this ROM with NVFlash, decide to go back to CM10 with NVFlash again and there you can flash your CWM backup you saved on your PC before.
New bootloader and layout are still very *new*, that's why there currently don't exist any ROMs you could flash with the CWM of this ROM. You can flash app packages and stuff but nor ROMs or ICS kernels not made for the new bootloader.

Same question here, Stefan. As a suggestion, maybe you can add these two apps as separate downloads for those who might still want them? None the less, great job!

It's quite the same as original ICS, maybe a bit smoother. But it has CWM and is prepared to get my new kernel in a few days, then nothing will lag anymore
Thanks Stefan.
Two Quick questions. If I want to roll back to CM7 from this rom, can I a) simply reflash a CMW back of CM7 or b) NVflash a GB stock rom then CMW restore from CM7.
Is this rom any lighter on battery or any smoother in general than a CM7 rom?
Going to try it, just would like to know what I'm getting into before I do.
Is it possible to use CWM 6? Because in tonyp´s version you need 5.2,x
Thank you for providing this rom!
One (maybe stupid) question:
Does anyone know how lg will rollout the update? I can't imagine they will force every user to loose all data on internal sd...

This ROM still is missing a proper custom kernel - so for now there is room for smoothness improvement in my opinion. But everything is prepared for receival of custom kernel. Just a few days.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975274 -> with that you can go back directly to CM10 (and then flash CM7 if you want).

It's awesome to see another ICS stock ROM avaiable here, you are COOL Stefan.
Just a quick question while downloading:
are you aware the small problems from harsh and tonyp's work?
- BSOD, many ppl including me have experienced today.
- call voice problem after a while a using (harsh meant that he is working on it)
- slow charging (some ppl claims with USB it is very slow)
if yes, have you done anything with them?
THANKS again, you guys are really heros.
Sturmtruppler maybe they wil give a warning that you must backup your internal sd else you wil loose your stuff and that you must update
With Lg updater software from pc in s/w upgrade mode
I think

Hello folks, I post this thread after months of research and 2 kernel flashing:
I'm having an issue with the S-pen of my galaxy note n7000: it doesn't work, but I noticed the following :
- It works perfectly after a reboot for a moment, but when I turn the screen off and then when I turn it on a moment after : no response.
- the bug started after I updated my phone from GB to ICS. Now I flashed it to JB 4.2.2 and the problem still continue.
Here's the specs (as it's written on my phone) :
Band Version : n7000XXLT3
Core Version : 3.0.31 [email protected] #1
CM Version : 10.1-20130508-Asylum-n7000
Build Number : cm_n7000-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39E
eng.chasmodo.20130508.06 5158 test-keys
Could somebody could give a tip on how to fix it ? I found numerous threads about "hovering spen" not working but that's not my problem. Neither a screen detection issue (well, I don't think so.)
I would really apreciate if somebody could help me with Gnote who is not a Gnote anymore
Thanks a lot for the responses !!!

have you tried the official stock 4.1.2 rom?
I would say even before answering above question, have you done a factory reset? (Be on a safe kernel of course)
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
yes, when Jellybean went out, I updated my phone hoping it would ok but no amelioration
and when I installed the last rom, I changed also the kernel and following the installation instructions, I did a full wipe and a dalvik cache. It is comparable to a factory reset ?
The only tips I figured out is that it could be a process or an application running on startup that would block the spen, but I'm a noob at it. Could somebody confirm or not ?

This advise is not going to help as it wont wipe the proper partitions. Dont follow that advise.
-----
Here is what you should Do. If this doesn't work, you 100% have damaged hardware and it is not a software problem.
1. Download latest philz kernel and latest prerooted and deodexed jellybean LT5 ROM in flashable zip format. Any ROM of your choice will do. Just make sure its a flashable zip or you will be stuck with no ROM and forced to flash a tar via PC Odin.
2. Flash philz from your external SD card if you don't have a stock recovery or using Mobile odin.
3. Reboot to philz touch recovery
4. Do a nandroid backup just in case
5. Wipe data system dalvik cache preload and .androidsecure
6. Flash the LT5 zip
7. Reboot to system and test spen
If it doesn't work after that it IS your hardware or the pen itself.

The theory is pretty simple... If you wipe out all traces of the past firmware, and the problem persists with new firmware, it is the hardware causing the issue.

I can't wait to see my Spen running again !
Hi!
I have exactly the same problem. I'm on a CM 12.1 and when I install it, after the first boot, Spen is working for a couple of seconds (10-20) and then suddenly stops (I presume there is something in the software that disable it). Then I reinstall CM 12.1 and same story again - it works for 10-20 seconds and then stops. Spen is working ONLY on the first run (not after every reboot).
Can it be the problem related to the kernel version?

When you say it stops working, does it mean it will give not response at all? I have tried spen on cm12. 1 and cm13 night owl and works on both.
Unfortunately yes - no response at all. It works fine for just about 10 or 20 seconds and then stops. I thought that it may be a hardware problem (maybe capacitors were empty), but in that case Spen will not work at all. And it works only when I do a factory reset or reinstall ROM. Weird...
Yes I red many posts where users said that Spen is working with night owl ROMs but I have this problem. And still didn't found any solution.

Did you ever find out was happened with your spen?
Yesterday I noticed this problem on my note. I thought it could be the latest kernel i've had flashed, so I flashed another one. I rebooted, tested my spen and everything was good, so I forget about it. But today my spen is not working at all. I wiped my phone and reinstalled the same rom and it worked at first, but then stopped working forever (I flashed a kitkat rom, then a touchwiz, and it never worked again). I don't know anyone else with this phone so I cannot test if it is the spen :/
Unfotunately not. I stopped thinking about it. I tought to buy new Spen from AliExpress (not expencive solution) and try it...
