[Q] MIUI on I9070 - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings,
I would like to ask that will MIUI available on I9070? Because I searched a lot for it, and I couldn't find any useful information about it, when it will be available, are they going to make it or not, etc.

We need CM10 first, after that we can get MIUI. There is no MIUI now for our phone.

You can port MIUI with CM rom by diego-ch but your MIUI will have the same bugs and problems that CM have..

That CM is not usable for now, audio driver is not working as far I know. That means no phonecalls.

Thats why I said that MIUI is porteable but the things that don't work in CM, in MIUI will not work too..

Thanks for answer.
But as I can see, CM10 is now being developed for S Advance, am I right?

I tryed to port MIUI time ago but I don't know anything about smalli diffing because I haven't knowledge about smalli codes.. Port MIUI is not bad idea at all because if someone make it booteable, then, for any new CM release, you need to update only the fixes in MIUI soooo makes more easyer and faster for updates.. My port just bootloop so if someone know about smalli codes and wanna help, then be my guest..

Read CM10 thread. It is in alpha stage, not usable. Audio drivers is not wokring still, that is major issue - can't make phonecalls.

That's why you need CM.

I know buddy!! We are able to port MIUI even if CM only boots and nothing work (Wifi, BT, RIL, etc). The problem is that if "x" thing don't work in CM, in MIUI will not work too. Now, im saying that if we can port MIUI using "diego-ch" CM (it's perfectly usable as "base rom" ), even with actual errors, will be more easier update MIUI because, in example, if the audio calls it's fixed in CM we only need to apply that fix in MIUI, so, in "timeline", any fix released for CM will be applied in MIUI later and will reduce time and work later. The CM release that we have it's perfectly able for MIUI port, the only negative point it's that the bugs and errors that actually CM have, MIUI will have too, so, if in CM audio call don't work, in MIUI will not work too but doesn't mean that "diego-ch" CM is not able for MIUI port, in fact, it's perfectly able..
I got bootloop in my port because I used SII MIUI and the framework and other files isn't same of Advance, so the entire system wont boot because I have not the knowledge to make the smalli diffing, so my port boots CM for Advance with MIUI files for SII, that's why got bootloop..

I was planning on making a MIUI "themed" ROM... Using the MiUi v5 Launcher, and some 3rd party MIUI Themed Messaging, contacts and dialer, and will be themeing the settings app accordingly... :> If anyone wants to help with it... PM me.

Yes, non-working CM = non-working MIUI. :crying:
And no point of porting MIUI now, before we get usable CM.

Good idea but we haven't a fully stable JB firm, so i think that doing that will make the rom more laggy.. I don't know, try it and see.. In my personal opinion I preferr search for someone who want to help porting MIUI fixing errors.. I believe it's better but try your idea, if i can help you in anything just message me..

In fact, we can port it and until wait CM fixes we can fix system bugs related to interface, tweaks, etc.. Even if CM is fully functional, MIUI, maybe, have other bugs related to system that we can fixing it.. It's just for spend better the time and get MIUI ready for CM fixes..

I thought MIUI includes a launcher as well as themed system apps to get the same look and feel as the launcher.

[Q] My first flash, advice please

Post
Hi,
This is my first time flashing a custom rom onto my Optimus 2X. I have decided on the latest Miui as it seems to be fast, stable and looks awesome.
I was hoping some lovely people could give me some advice to help my first flash go well.
I have created a backup through CWR of my current stock ROM. I have also backed up all my apps through titanium backup.
I was wondering what the best baseband and RIL is best suited to the Miui ROMs? And also do I need to covert to ext4 or will be ROM do this for me?
Once iv done this is there anything else I should do to prepare my phone for Miui?
Thank you for any advice you can give me!!
Sedge.
I usually flash a stock Rom via smarflash in order to have a cleaner phone. You also have to calibrate your battery after changing Rom, trough some specific apps that you can find easly gratis on the market. For the bb i have never had problems on MIUI, they all worked for me.

I'm on the latest MIUI too on BB725. Works fine here. I'm thinking MIUI supports ext3 and ext4 partitions and don't make changes to what you already have. I've been jumping through roms and don't see anything that says MIUI is converting my partitions.
MIUI's base is cm7 so you might want to consider running the latest cm7 stable (or nightly if you feel adventurous) for o2x.
I'm still a bit biased on stock roms since they're release from the vendors so they'd likely get all the features you want due to closed-sourced 3rd party drivers. There are a lot of good roms based on stock souce here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1002. Consider giving em a spin.
If you're just after the MIUI look, check these launchers:

I have installed CM 7.1 and it all seems fine apart from my battery icon is saying i have a almost full battery when i know when i started the flash it was around 30%.
Shall I let the battery run all the way down and then charge to full and then re calibrate my battery. Will this solve my problem?
thanks James

[Q] Recommended ICS ROM

What ICS ROM do you recommend me? Thanks!
Both The CM9 nightlies and AOKP are nice ICS ROMs.
They are stable. While AOKP has more features and flexibility, CM9 nightly in general has less bugs and more builds to update from.
Thanks. And works the camera in both of them. It is important for me.
I know cm7 and I like cyanogen. So I will start with this.
Enviado desde mi Nexus One usando Tapatalk 2
Camera works on both. But I think CM9has a better menu for the camera app.
AOKP camera does not have the complete menu therefore flash setting is impossible to change.
I imagine you can get camera patch from CM9 flash it to AOKP. Btw AOKP is a CM9 based rom.

I've been wanting to upgrade from 2.3.6 to ICS but in dilemma if I want to install CM9 or AOKP. Both looks like nice ROM. I guess now I am leaning toward AOKP. I guess I will flash CM9 first for a week, and try AOKP for another week before deciding to stick with one. Thanks.
I finally am trying Cm9 and it works ok. I think it will be my daily rom.

I don't suggest you to install AOKP, because it derivates from CM9, so they have the same bugs. What more, AOKP has too small keys (I'm referring to those who are at the bottom of the screen and allow you to go back, return home or view the open applications), even if it has some features more, and they're a bit buggy, too. Personally, I returned to Overcome 4.1.0, since ICS has too small icons and the battery used to last less than 24 hours without an intense use.
By the way, in English which of these expressions is correct: "What's more" or "What more"?
Sent from my Galaxy Tab
I am on aokp #36 and I really can't let you say it is more buggy than cm9.
I can do everything without problem.
Small buttons is known issue and easily resolved ( workaround) by customising the buttons. Just add one more or change one of them to
a "menu" button and no more tiny buttons.
On the other hand, cm9 is changing daily so it is more buggy.
Btw, aokp is by team kang, and not related to cm.
Only stimpz0r's aokp for p1000 has TE4M's CM9 stuff included with permission.

As you are discussing about Bootloop, i want to verify about installation.
When i flashed CM9 , i got bootloop . And then i followed the installation instruction from AOKP which is pressing up volume key and install .zip again. and it's worked. Is it the correct way to install CM9? or i just didn't give enough time for bootloop (cuz in CM9 instruction it's normal). I waited not less than 3 minutes.
guys! have you tried cdesai's unofficial build? its awesome! you can download it from goo.im, under devs section->cdesai. im really loving his build. navbar can be fully customized, even the toggles. cant wait for the next release of his build!
just one thing though, i wish that the official nightly builds will soon be merged with these such customization options. it will be like an early christmas present!

one thing that bugs me in the aokp builds is the spacing of the navbar buttons, navbar buttons are too close apart.
Acually all roms with ics 4.0.4. Tried them all, all working fine, for little issues is always a solution, but so far i prefer aokp with its features. The only thing not working for me yet is direct wifi, but iam sure it will be fixed soon.

Hello.. Pls say something on this
I will say: "as long as it works"
The install method for CM9 and AOKP is identical.
Also note that CM9 Dev thread said:
Normal install :
You need to have a kernel with CWM Recovery
Get the zip from the above download links
Put the zip on your sdcard, reboot into recovery, and install the zip
It'll reboot a few times during the install, that's normal
What does that tell you? Sounds like boot loop, right? Yes, it is the same.
Coming from BML, it will throw you to recovery.
If you come from Overcome, you will notice that the CWM is no longer Overcome's one, it may say HumberOS or whatever.
That is what the first install done to you. So proceed with second time install and you will be ok.
Again, as long as it works.

If your camera works then why not share to FOP. Camera from ICS isn't different to JB. Atleast people here can have an almost fully functional ICS.
Tell you what, if you want the credits (as your sig implies), release an ICS ROM with a working camera. That's it!

We really need an MIUIv6 port

Hey guys without a doubt MIUI is one of the most beautiful ROMs that Android has to offer.. I would really love to see MIUI v6 on our beloved Moto X... We have soo many source built ROMs i really wish someone takes the time for MIUI porting!!
P.S It is possible to base MIUI on STOCK ROM as well..

and maybe we will get to keep both Active display and touchless control!!
Any developers interested??

Good thanks.. Just FYI patchrom is currently only for jb 4.2.2 .. Another way to port is smali diff yourself and using the build for nexus 7 and cm11 as base though you will still have to do some repo sync to fix some lib files... I have already try but for some reason I cannot get a log cat while it get stock on the boot logo, so I CNT figure out why I'm missing ... All the lucks and hope you can figure out.

ROM For Gaming???

Hey guys I'm on a G610Y and currently running on stock TW 7.0 ROM. Is there any custom ROM as of now (preferably Oreo or Pie even) that runs games the best and is smooth and stable at the same time?
Well , I am on Havoc Os and i play pubg, it works fine as long as you have good internet connection. Also, some j7 prime users say games performance is better in samsung Tw based roms, i have also seen lots of recommendation like Oreosama and Venom for better gaming or you can just wait for the new Veloxy Rom , developer wrote that gaming will be much better in that rom.

I am a compulsive flasher I have tried all the rom for this device and the best is xenos 2.0, there is no rom that is compared in performance and fluency, despite having so many extras is still very fast, I have tried all the rom and I end up coming back this. I hope that soon one one will come out that the games run smoothly.

each rom has its grace and really anseois 8 and especially 9 is very nice, but it is a shame that they have bugs that cause an unstable system, at the moment all Android 9 rom with oneui are not fluid, those with Android AOSP have bug with the camera and the worst on the unlock screen take 5 seconds to be able to respond, the Android 8 have nothing innovative and is xenos is old .. but com nova launcher you give another appearance also I have Ambient display that is the best alternative for our j7 prime since it has no AMOLED screen and this no other Rom TW STOCK has it, it has virtual buttons on screen in the notification bar. And at the end answering your answer .. yes .. is rom is very fast because it takes kernel srock and the front flash works.

The 5 seconds screen delay on AOSP rom will be fix if you flash this version of oxygen kernel 5.1.125. we tested it already.

Have you already tested Oxygen kernel for AOSP v5.1.131? Does it also fix the delay? Thanks.
