Hi there.
Brand new i9000.. first smartphone in my life.. and also the first one I broke in my life. Pretty ****ing annoying.
Everything still works, even typing, just the screen is smashed into a 1000 pieces. Dropped it out of my pocket on a concrete floor when I took my pants of. Lesson: Never take your pants off!
This is how it looks:
/edit: ****! I am not allowed to post photo's?
Found this (Dutch, but that's where I am from) webshop, selling a new screen:
/edit: ****, I am not allowed to post URL's!
It's called: "Samsung i9000 Galaxy S Display module compleet incl. touchscreen" Looks like this:
/edit: ****! I am not allowed to post photo's?
Is it the right screen? And if yes, can I install it myself? The thing is, just the outside is broken.. do I need this set? And where can I find a manual?
Thanks!

Any replica screens that do not come from samsung, will not be super AMOLED.. As this is one of the biggest things with the SGS I'd pay the extra and get it done at a reputed samsung repair centre!! Dunno where in holland you are but they have plenty of repair centres, had to visit one in Harleem myself the other day.... ANY Repairs carried out by you will void the warranty... Also is there no way you could just add accidental damage to your cover!!!... wait a couple of days then make a claim!!
I can't claim it anywhere.
So, I wanne put a Super AMOLED screen in myself. Anybody any idea where I can get a screen from? I can't post links here, pretty annoying.
Guy on Ebay sells them:
"yes, it is genuine LCD + touch screen with 4 inch Super AMOLED screen for samsung i9000"

Contact him ask him what the part number is!! call samsung and check it with them! It could be all good, most of the times is!... but there are alot of con-artists on ebay so for the matter of a phone call to check the authenticity.... I'd say it's worth it! also check with samsung if they sell the spares themselves or they will give you the name of an authorized stockist of their spares!! Worth checking out their prices!
Good luck!
Hi iam from india even my brand new i9000diplay was smashed i replcaed it from samsung sevice they charged me rs 8500 ie 180$

I broke my screen. I think it's both the LCD and the top screen. There's a spider web pattern all over the top part and the lcd is working in one corner but green and black apart from that. The phone turns on and seems to be working "underneath" the mess.
It was my fault. For years I've been leaving phones between the base of my bed and the frame at night. This morning the base moved away from the frame a touch and the Note slipped into to space and somehow got crushed. It was bizarre and I'm not 100% sure what happened.
So what are my options?
(1) cry and just accept that my Note is gone
(2) call samsung and see how much it will cost to replace the screen (do they do repairs?)
(3) Get a screen replacement kit from Ebay and try to do it myself (can't imagine I'd have 2-300 $ any time soon, nor the expertise to do it)
(4) sell it for parts and use the cash to by a ****ty old phone
There's no way that I'm going to be able to get it repaired for free is there?
I bought it from Ebay, no carrier here (Canada) has it yet.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

I dont see any screen replacement kits available on ebay..n i guess first u must call samsung and ask the cost to fix...nd wait till u get that much money to get your note fixed..btw m really sorry to hear abt ur broken note
1. Wait a few months and you'll see a lot of this lcd assembly on ebay for much less.
2. Build a time machine, go back to the day you made that mistake and hit yourself on the head.

A damn proud Galaxy Note owner.
I think I would buy a replacement kit.
If you cannot repair it yourself, maybe someone
in your neighbourhood can help you out.
I dunno the prices for the note replacement kit.
But for most smartphones theyre are in between
$80 and $150

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/522834126/LCD_Touch_Screen_Assembly_for_Samsung.html u could buy it from here for $202
Thanks so much guys for your advice and commiserations.
I'll call Samsung tomorrow and cry, maybe they'll take pity on me, but I doubt it
I'll then try to cobble together the price of the kit, maybe they'll come down in price while I'm saving.
Thanks again for the advice and commiserations. A screen protector or a case would probably have helped I think, after spending $700+ for a phone I should have taken more steps to protect it.
I'm in Canada and so couldn't get any help from Samsung Canada or Samsung US as it's not carried over here. I finally got some help from Samsung UK and they gave me the name of a company in Birmingham I can send it to for repair.
I'm pretty nervous though as it could cost an arm and a leg.
Should I send it in, buy a screen for $230 and try to install myself or just forget it, buy a $50 phone and try to move on with my life without the beloved note?
Wait for the note to come to your country or to us..den u can get it fixed..itz just around d corner..btw i guess d 1 to b launched in your country is gona b a different note ...so buy a screen from d site i mentioned earliar for $202..nd get ur note fixed by a friend or wait for some galaxY note teardown instructions on the internet
I'd definitely find out what the cost is going to be to replace the screen from the company in the UK. If it's not much over $230 then it might be worth it.
Thing is about these screen/digitizer assemblies is all the really fragile stuff is usually put together already. You don't need to do any soldering, stripping wires, etc., you just need to unplug some ribbon cables and plug in some ribbon cables, screw in/out a couple small screws, and use a prying tool to open the phone and place ribbon cables. Thankfully this stuff isn't rocket science or they'd have a lot of trouble getting them assembled in factories for pennies a day.
Unless you get a crappy replacement phone, you're looking to spend at least $200+ for an unlocked Android phone of any decency anyway. You might as well invest that money into repairing a top-of-the-line phone that will bring you a couple years more of use. Get two more years out of it and you're looking at $10/month.
Maybe e-mail the company thats selling them and ask if they come with directions. If you can't find directions, look at other similar phones (Sammy Galaxy S II, Galaxy Nexus, etc.), or maybe find a phone-repair place in your local area and provide the part yourself, they'll be able to figure it out from there.
Then get the god damn nicest protection case ever.

For Pete's sake man, get it fixed! PRONTO! Don't even think about the alternatives.
Hi there,
First post so first up let me just say hey been lurking on here for awhile but never needed to post before! I seem to have had the worst luck ever, purchased two samsung phones first off a galaxy s2 off ebay which I was really looking forward to using and then an s8000 from cex which I wasn't looking forward to using so much. I've spent a lot of time unlocking and sim unlocking them only to find out they are both IMEI blocked, I've spent a lot of money on them and even when i've taken them into the operators they have been no help even going so far as suggesting I have stolen both of them. I don't really want to give up on either phone but spending £100 on a z3x box just for two phones is a bit much, so I wanted to know if there's anyone in london with a z3x box who would be willing to help me. I understand that it probably looks a bit dodgy asking on a new account like this but I can only assure you of my sincerity. I'll understand if no one is willing to help but if anyone is could they please get in touch with me.
Thanks for your time.
You need to get your money back from ebay and cex, shouldn't be a problem, always get imei no before buying, if they don't provide it, they are hiding something

Hi I m looking for a cheap hd2 main flex part. It is the big one with the camera connector. Please contact me with a private message
Ebay and Amazon is your best bet. You can buy a HD2 under $100 that has a broken screen
but get one thats still in 100% working order. Then if you need more parts down the road
you'll have them. Also if you only have people PM you the thread won't get bumbed and can
get lost upon the many other threads. Inturn less people will see this thread and give the
proper advise.
Yes, ebay is a good place.
Why is it so hard to find any parts for this device?
I have managed to pretty severely crack my screen on my Tab S2, and unfortunately( never again), I did not buy the protection plan from Best Buy.
There is a local place close to where I live that will do the work, but wants to charge $350+ to replace the screen. Needless to say, that's not going to happen.
I've been scouring the interwebs to try to find a screen/digitizer I can purchase and attempt to replace on my own, but I can't find a single site selling parts for the Tab s2.
Anyone have any ideas? I haven't owned the tablet long at all and I would love to be able to repair it.
Thanks.

a diffrent approach to take and i would reccomend is to buy the screen yourself online, then take it to a shop (maybe the one you mentioned) and asked them to install the glass on your device, this way you only pay them for the manual labor

That would be great, but the whole point is that I can't find anywhere that sells the screen.
If they want $350 to replace the screen, I would simply buy another Tab S2 on Craig's List. If you look a bit, you can find Tab S2 8.0's for less than $300 on Craig's List. I bought mine brand-new on Craig's List with the official Samsung book cover for $280.

It just surprises me that there are sites that sell replacement parts for every other Samsung tablet and phone on the market, but nothing for the Galaxy Tab S2.

Yes, its totally ridiculous that no one sells it. You can buy a LCD with Digitizer on Ebay for about $250 from China. I found another place that I think is in California but they want you to buy a minimum of 2 LCD's. What kind of crap policy is that??

I think the reason is that it requires a special "heating box", to even open the case on an S2. You have to heat the entire tablet to a certain temp to melt the glue to open the case. I have yet to be able to even determine what that temp is. This should be warning to every S2 owner to be double sure to get a protective screen for their tablets.
Hi. Another question. What can we say about screen compatibility between T710 & T713 or T810 & T813 (and their respective 4G versions) ? Are they switchable?

They are. Plenty of youtube videos showing you how to change screens. It's not difficult at all.

I've succeeded in opening an 810 using a simple household steam iron and an xacto knife. The problem is that a replacement screen cost as much as buying a used tablet. And the risk of breaking something in attempting to replace it yourself is fairly high.

And the answer is pretty much irrelevant anyway. Even though the screens are interchangeable, I doubt very seriously if you'll find either one at a price that's less than what you'd pay for a used tablet. I've been looking for months on eBay for a T8xx with a good screen but something else bad, that I could buy for less than $225 and haven't found one yet. The cheapest I found for a new one is $250. That is less than what a used T810 in decent condition would cost, but I'd have no guaranty it would fix the bad tablet. The bad one boots and I can hear audio messages when I turn it on, but what if there is something else wrong other than the screen itself causing it to be blank?

Hi; If you have the patience, you can just buy a digitizer, and replace that... it's about 1/4th the cost. I've noticed the digitizer for the Tab A 8.0" looks identical to the digitizer for the S2, I wonder if they are the same? I know the lcd in the S2 is not the same, but the digitizer, I suspect is... they're on ebay for about $15.95

The temp to release the glue is 60 Celcius/140 degrees F.

s2 uses a special 4x3 amoled screen. The digitizer and led display is integrated into one assembly. Good luck finding that, it probably comes directly from samsung fabs, so its not going to happen for a reasonable price... Shops that offer repair are most likely scavenging parts from used/damaged units they buy. Most common you find worn battery, broken usb port, or cracked screen. Seeing as how the display consists of 2/3 or more the bill of materials, it makes sense for them to charge so much. The labor and screen costs a ton. Keep in mind that the components on the mainboard are cheap, the soc is probably only 60$ or so... Batteries are like 10-15... Replacement usb port is pennies...
Generally when you break an amoled display or burn it in, you are SOL and have an expensive paperweight. It is like totaling the front end of a commuter car. Its not like an apple ipad screen that is mass produced and available directly from china for pennies.

mhl has different versions. You should be able to find one that works. IIRC the white samsung chinese knock offs work, and are just a few $ us

I'm sorry to bump this but I have the same question as Beyaz66, but I believe the question was phrased a little confusingly. The actual question is if the different model screens are interchangeable with one another. For example, putting a T719 screen on a T713 model. I see the specs are basically the same and it seems only the appearance is different, but does anyone have any knowledge on this? Thanks!
